I''m 6''2, so any monitor that I''ve bought has always been too short for me.

This monitor stand did the trick. But, one word of caution, is that I had

to use the highest level (about 5 inches), so if you need more height

extension then 5 inches, you might want to look at alternatives. For me

the 5 inches was perfect.

I ordered this item for use in a HP cp1160 inkjet printer. The printer reads an expiration date code from the ink cartridge, and if the cartridge is expired, the printer will not operate. When I installed the remanufactured tricolor cartridge to replace an empty one, the printer did not recognize it as a valid cartridge and did not operate. Replacement with a factory-original tricolor cartridge restored proper operation. Perhaps the idea of remanufactured cartridges is a good one for printers that do not have the expiration date code "feature", but it is not a good idea for the HP cp1160. I do not know if other machines that use the same cartridges would have the same problem. Since the printer is old and ink cartridges are getting hard to get, I will replace it soon, but definitely not with one made by HP! The prices for factory-original HP cartridges are very high, and I feel that the expiration date code "feature" is just a scam to sell more expensive ink cartridges.

This paper is very consistent. I have found very few flaws in all sizes. It is packaged very well so it holds up in shipping.

The surface is somewhat akin to Ilford Gold Fibre Silk. I find it has less stipple and is smoother. It takes ink very well, especially if the images are dark and contrasty. I have been very pleased with all aspects of this paper. It is the only paper I currently use.

I have tried many different kinds of photo paper and I can say with confidence this is by far the best. Many other kinds of photo paper stick together when you put more than two sheets in your printer at a time, which ends up wasting a lot of paper and time. This HP paper has no such problem. Other papers feel very thin and some are even slightly see through; with this paper it is as thick if not thicker than developed photos! I use an HP D145 and with this paper my photos come out of the printer looking like they were just developed. Although it is slightly more expensive than others, this photo paper is well worth it; the results you get are just amazing.

I had about 25 sheets of this paper left over when my HP printer died. No big loss as far as I''m concerned. It only lasted about a year with light usage and was well out of the 90 day warranty period.

Anyway, I wasn''t about to throw away a half package of good photo paper. Quite simply, it works great in my Canon Pixma 3000 and the prints are nicer than those I was getting from the HP.

So much for blindly sticking with the printer manufacturers paper.

Although a bit more expensive than desired, HP Premium Plus Photo Paper gives very good results especially when using HP printers (I use HP photosmart7760). The special coating on the back to prevent sticking is also a very good innovation.

I would recommend this photo paper, especially if the extra cost is not a problem and a good HP printer is used.

I''ve tried many different brands of photo paper, but this is by far the best. I have a HP 7550 Photo printer and with this paper the photos turn out just like store-developed ones. The weight of paper is thicker than any other paper I''ve tried and the colors come out the truest. It is more expensive than other brands, but I think it is worth the money.

My employer here in San Francisco (I''m not in Kentucky like is says above) purchased one of these scanners to help us go paperless in the office. We have tons of paper documents that need to be scanned and archived. However, using this scanner has been one headache after another. Yes, it is fast, but it also jams often, and often grabs more than one page at at time(if this doesn''t cause it to jam then it simply means pages end up missing in the scan). The worst part is that after a jamming episode it simply won''t interface with Adobe Acrobat again unless it is shut down and rebooted. This happens A LOT. Sometimes it stops interfacing even without jamming. It''s not unusual to have to reboot the scanner several times an hour. I''m not sure if it''s a hardware or software issue, all I know is that it has been a pain in the neck for months. And of course, HP customer service is notoriously bad so that only makes a bad situation worse. We''ve barely had this scanner 6 months and have already decided to replace it. We recently ordered a Fujitsu FI-5120C and I have high hopes, based on its reviews, that my scanning headaches are over. As for this HP, what an expensive mistake it was. Also, btw, it makes a very annoying high pitched sound while scanning that made scanning very unpleasant.

Fellowes Shredder Oil, 12 oz. Bottle with Extension Nozzle (35250) Save 70% off

Fellowes Shredder Oil, 12 oz. Bottle with Extension Nozzle
  • Helps keep confetti-cut machines working at their peak
  • Industrial-grade lubricant
  • Convenient 12-ounce squeeze bottle
  • Extension nozzle to ensure complete coverage
  • Ideal for home or business shredders
  • Lubricant keeps your shredder running at peak performance by conditioning the cutters and extending the life of your shredder.
  • For best results, oil shredder each time you empty the wastebasket or a minimum of twice a month.

This is a just a quick review to let you know about Fellowes (and other shredder branded oils) versus your standard kitchen vegetable oil.

Remember that vegetable oils go rancid quickly; they''re meant for eating and not industrial lubrication on a regular basis. The use vegetable oil trick is actually intended for people who use their shredders OFTEN, not OCCASIONALLY. I have a giant bottle of canola oil at the office for the big shredder, I use the branded oil at home. The amount of shredding most offices do is enough to warrant using vegetable oil since more than likely by the end of of a typical maintenance cycle, the oil is long gone from the blades and feeding mechanism.

Do not use olive oil, corn oil, cottonseed, peanut, palm, or ANY vegetable oil with an odor. Unless you want your shredder smelling like food, stay away from any vegetable oil with a distinct odor. Canola oil is the best substitute for branded oil. Also look for lower grade canola cooking oil, the ones you often find in thrift stores or 99 cent stores. It should look more "watery" than viscous.

If you think Fellowes is taking you for a ride in selling shredder oil, think again. It''s like someone mixing food coloring and water to make "ink" for their printer. Sure the price is way more than it should be, but that also doesn''t make the home alternative absolutely correct all the time. Use the Fellowes oil if you shred papers ocasionally and pretty much find yourself oiling once in two weeks. One 12 ounce bottle should last you QUITE a long time. If you''re in a heavy office or shredding daily, then go for the canola oil alternative. The last thing you want is to have sticky, smelly blades that have rancid vegetable oils on them.

Fellowes oil has no odor and is quite "watery". If I could buy this stuff cheap in the gallons, I would for all my shredders. Vegetable oils have the caveats I mentioned above, but they DO work if you''re in a pinch or trying to save some money.

As a side note, always use shredder bags when possible. They save you from dealing with the "dust" that shredders create. And yes, you can use generic 4-11 gallon trash bags instead of "shredder" bags! That''s ok.

Buy Fellowes Shredder Oil, 12 oz. Bottle with Extension Nozzle (35250) Now

We only buy Fellowes shredders and have found them very reliable. I originally purchased the oil for the cutters directly from Fellowes a couple of years ago; the bottle was smaller and more expensive at the time. I was quite pleased to find this product available from Amazon at a good price and larger bottle.

I think a lot of people buy a shredder, not knowing that it does need some maintenance to keep it in top shape. Besides not overloading your shredder''s capabilities or shredding material that you shouldn''t, the next best thing you can do to protect your investment is to regularly lubricate the cutters. This reduces wear, noise, and can prevent the teeth from breaking.

Be sure to read the instructions for your particular shredder, however, about the type of oil to use and the frequency. You may be tempted to use other types of oil you already have around your house or WD-40 or something, but many of those things are flammable and will only serve to damage your shredder or worse.

As another reviewer said, be careful when cutting the tip on the bottle because if you make it too big, the oil will be harder to control.

I have a Staples 15-sheet shredder for which I purchased the Fellowes lubricant oil. After a single thorough application, the shredder gradually returned to its optimum performance. I used the generic office store brand oil before, and it seems that Fellowes lubricant delivers a difference you can hear.

Want Fellowes Shredder Oil, 12 oz. Bottle with Extension Nozzle (35250) Discount?

I spoke with Fellowes, they say it''s OK to use regular cooking vegetable oil (canola, etc.) in their machines, but only temporarily, not in the long run, because regular vegetable oil may become sticky and start smelling rancid. I''ll stick with the dedicated oil and give it just 4 stars since there exists an alternative. I will, however, give Fellowes 5 stars for their candor. Also, as others have pointed out, be careful not to cut too big a chunk of the dispenser nozzle''s tip, so you won''t waste oil when oiling your machine.

I have read all the reviews & yes. I contacted Fellows & Royal they said you could use in a pinch regular vegetable cooking oil, but the main difference is there oil is much more refined & does not in any way smell like vegetable oil. So I decided to buy & see for my self. I did a side by side comparison. The cooking oil is much more brighter, heavier & has a distinctive smell. The Fellows is a much lighter oil. The Vegetable oil will go rancid & you''ll start to smell it in time, many people have complained that when oiling the oil come out to fast..Here''s the fix don''t use a pair of scissors or a utility knife to cut the tip of the cap. Just use either a baby pin or a thumb tack to pierce the tip of the cap & then you can have control of how much oil you need to use. I used a med size baby pin & it''s working great for me. FYI: If you have a Office Depot where you live. There own brand of oil is a refined soybean based. For $5.00 for a 4oz bottle the Fellows is a better buy. Not to mention the Engineer at Fellows said that poring oil on a sheet of paper is not enough lubrication & neither are the pre-soaked sheets you can buy. You need to run the machine in reverse as your poring for 10 seconds.

But I do notice a difference in quaility when closely looked at with the Canon Pro paper. I print a lot of 8 X 10"s. And the Canon Pro Glossy just really jumps out at you. If you were going to print a bunch of wallet size photos you can probably save a couple cents by using the cheaper no name paper. If you''re looking for a very basic copier to make the occasional black and white copy this unit is fine. It makes very clean looking black and white copies. If you can think of a question in the form of "Does this copier have _____" chances are the answer is no. It can do double-sided copies, but only manually. There is no multiple-original feed. No shrink/enlarge options. It does have auto-exposure with a manual override if it''s needed. Knowing all of this I think it''s a steal at the $25 AR I paid. Otherwise you''re probably better off with a scanner and printer for most uses.

This is a cleverly designed compact copier, but don''t buy it if you think you would ever need to copy a page from a book. In order to copy a page from a book one must push down on the book to flatten out the part of the page closest to the spine, and this copier would probably break under that kind of pressure. In addition, the surface (platen, I think they call it) where one places the book to be copied moves back and forth during the copying process, and even if one doesn''t push down on the book, a considerable amount of patience and manual dexterity is needed to hold the book perfectly on the surface while it moves. We immediately saw that we would not be able to use this copier, since we occasionally need to copy pages from books, and Amazon was very nice about taking it back even though we had already begun to use the toner cartridge. Amazon even paid the shipping charges to return it.

I use this instead of my scanner and ink jet and am very impressed with it. I wasn''t expecting much for the price ($24 after rebates) but it surprised me with how well it works. It starts up within seconds and shuts down automatically. This is not something you would use for a business, it copies slow and does not feed multiple documents. It is nice and portable and is perfect for coping a few pages every week.

This copier replaces a personal Canon copier I had for at least 14 years. Over the years I have found it very handy to have a copier at home and have used it quite often. The Canon PC 170 takes up very little space and performs very well. It makes excellent copies quickly with no warm-up waiting time. An additional feature which I did not have on my older copier, is that the PC 170 has a paper feed which allows one to make multiple copies. You can also set the number of copies to be made. On my old copier, each paper had to be hand fed. Another nice feature is that one can adjust the paper feed to make copies as small as an index card. I have used this feature many times over the years on my old copier and was happy to see this same feature on the newer model. This copier is an excellent value for the price.

This user-friendly machine does exactly what it''s supposed to do; turns out decent copies at a reasonable rate. I use it for copying in my home---may be adequate for small business owners who only need a few pages at a time, too. Was tired of the inconvenience of running around looking for a public copier, maybe leaving an important paper under the lid of the printer, etc.---and the latest threat---that the public printer may be retaining info from items being printed. This was a good purchase for me & I''d recommend it to others, too.

We use labels daily mailing/shipping, product packaging, and more. I must admit I''ve never been a loyal Avery customer sometimes their white labels are slightly higher quality than other brands, but we always seem to find generics that work just as well, for a fraction of the price.

But these new line of products by Avery (print-to-edge, product & mock-up labels) have got us really excited. They look great, they come in great colors, the price points are good, and they have soooo many uses. I hope to see even more colors & choices in the future.

And, I''m a long time fan of the Avery web site we often use their "Design & Print Online" feature, even if we aren''t using Avery brand labels. We tend to use Open Office, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs for our word processing, and none of the label templates seem to work well with those programs. So we use the Avery web site, which is clunky, but layout is straightforward and we usually don''t have time or energy to mess around.

So now I''m a much, much bigger fan of Avery they have both products and a web site we can get excited about. These particular labels are 2.5" diameter (smaller than you might imagine in your head), but work great for gift bags, books & CDs, and things like that. They are high quality, look great, no jams, etc. An all around great product.

Some tips on using these:

-If you are doing a complex design, download the template in advance, make sure it works for you, and/or try to find alternative sources for templates. Our designs are usually quite simple text + simple logo.

-Run a test print first, then hold it up to the light under your sheet of labels (making sure it matches up).

-The kraft brown background color is dark. We decided only to print in black, to ensure the label is readable.

-Before buying the Avery print-to-edge product labels, make sure you''re getting the size you really need. Cut out a 2.5" circle from a piece of cardboard, & hold it up to your product to get a feel for it. I know this sounds silly, but I''ve heard this feedback from so many people that the size "sounded" right, but it didn''t end up working for them.

Hope this helps good luck!

I was really excited about this product as my previous experience with Avery labels and my inkjet printer has been terrific. However the templates for these labels leave a lot to be desired so I''m giving this product an overall 3 stars because the templates are crucial to printing good looking labels, especially when using circles, and they fell short in my opinion.

The Labels

The labels themselves are of excellent quality; nice, thick paper (but not too thick that it jams cycling through a printer). The color for the kraft labels is quite dark. I tried printing light colors, but they washed out on the darkish background. If you printdarker colors and have an inkjet printer with good color saturation, you can achieve some beautiful effects. The labels stick nicely to a variety of surfaces'' glass, some plastic, cellophane, paper, cardboard, even metal (I''m not sure how long it will last, but so far so good). So the labels themselves get 5 stars.

The Templates

Here''s where I had a lot of trouble. I should mention I''m using a Mac, and tried several different templates with both Pages and MSOffice. I got nearly the same results with both, although using the templates in Pages was a lot easier when handling text and editing the template to for optimal results. The first template I downloaded and printed was way off from the label (yes, I checked my doc settings). I tinkered around with the template until I was able to get the text and design lined up and centered. Hoping it was just that particular template, I downloaded a few other templates from the Avery site but unfortunately, the results were the same: the template design was way off from the circle label when printed. I resorted to making a bunch of copies of the label sheet to use as I monkeyed with the template in order to get everything lined up properly and avoid wasting the label sheets. It was actually easier to create my own template and copy elements from the Avery template onto my own.

One other drawback to the templates if you are using the kraft color labels is that many of the templates have a colored background which don''t print nicely on the kraft color template. They do make the labels in white and other shapes and I suspect the non-circular shapes are easier to center for printing as it is with other Avery labels. Maybe this is inherent in printing circular labels, but I was really looking forward to getting beautiful circle labels from my inkjet printer without spending an inordinate amount of time to get there.

I purchased these labels to be my product labels for my jams and jellies that I sell. The labels fit perfectly on the top of all my regular mouth jars. The color is a little bit darker than I expected but it actually looks great with the color that I print on it.

The labels are extremely sticky so you don''t have to worry about the labels coming off easily. They are also very eye catching so that''s a plus.

My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the template that Avery provides for this product absolutely SUCKS. If you use it and then save it for future use, you will be unable to reuse it because it splits into 4 pages instead of 1 and you end up wasting labels for a stupid template error. I end up having to download the template every time I use it because I don''t want to waste them or end up printing outside the lines.

Otherwise, I highly recommend this product and it is made from 100% recycled material which is GREAT if you have a business that is eco-friendly.

These labels are a really nice option for a small craft business. The Kraft paper instead of the usual white printer labels lends a more sublte, professional look to your packaging. They''re especially great for natural or minimally-processed products or green packaging, lending a nice finishing touch. Since I usually use a laser printer, I really like that they make a plain black laser print look especially nice--plain white labels look much more DIY with just black. The fact that you can print the whole label right to the edge adds to the finished look. You can download the templates for Word or use Avery''s online tool to generate a pdf that you can print out.

I love products from Avery, and was excited to try out another of their new products. I do quite a bit of mailing and filing, so I go through a lot of labels.

The labels in this pack are round and made of a thick, craft paper-like material. I wondered if it might be too thick to go through the printer, but that was a needless worry. When trying to set up the template, I saw that since the labels are so new, they are not in the label database that is part of Windows. Because of this, I had to go online directly to Avery.com. Thankfully, their template program is incredibly easy to navigate and very user intuitive. Avery''s template program also offers some wonderful graphics to help customize your label as well as the option to upload your own photos or graphics. When it comes time to print, another window opens up with a PDF file that you can save to your desktop for future use.

After creating the designs I wanted, I printed off a page of labels. As the label color is that of medium-brown kraft paper (think a couple of shades darker than a paper grocery bag), not all colors will work well; some of the lightest ones barely even show up. Black and darker greys come out beautifully, as do darker blues, greens and reds (the darkest blues and greens tend to look black FYI). Avery makes these same labels in white if you wish for your design to be colorful and bright. These kraft brown labels are more for dark and shaded graphics.

As I mentioned earlier, these labels are thicker than Avery''s typical white mailing labels. Even peeled off of the backing, they feel quite substantive. For crafters who make and sell items like soaps, candles, canned/bottled/jarred goods, etc. these labels are very professional looking and stick incredibly well to almost every surface. Removing them not so easy.

I''ve already used up most of the pack I received via Vine, and am hoping that my local office supply stores have them in stock. Reorganizing the pantry was made a little bit more fun by designing and using my own labels. I''ve also used them for address return labels, which makes for quite an eye-catching letter. These labels also make very pretty and professional looking book plaques. At first when I received these labels, I wasn''t sure what I would use these labels for. Now? I''m afraid I''ll run out mid-project.

So I spent a weekend reviewing all-in-one printer reviews, but it seemed that for any given printer, 20% of the reviews were very negative, which wasn''t helpful. So I decided to just get something inexpensive and to buy locally so I could return it easily if need be. A local chain store had this printer on sale, and I also had a "rewards" coupon that I could apply to it, so it was definitely inexpensive.

Setup was incredibly easy: unpack the printer (its very light weight), connect the supplied USB cable to the Mac (v. 10.6), insert the CD, and follow the online instructions. The instructions show you how to install the ink, switch to wireless mode, and runs an initial alignment test. There are just two ink cartridges: black and a tri-color (61/61XL is the cartridge type). During setup, I saw the message "Authentic HP Ink Cartridge," so I don''t know if it will accept refills. I''ll post later when I find out.

I don''t print a lot (another reason why I wanted an inexpensive printer), but I did try to print, copy, and scan, and it all worked. FYI, you can scan to jpeg or PDF. This printer does not print duplex (two-sided). Also, the supplied USB cable is only 3'' long, which would restrict locating the printer, but if you go wireless you won''t need the cable.

All things considered, so far it seems to be a very good printer for home use or just occasional printing. If it printed duplex, I''d have given it 5 stars.

UPDATE: I ran into a problem when trying to scan to JPEG. If you are trying to scan something that has a lot of white space and no border (like the back of a check!), the scanner apparently gets confused because it can''t distinguish the edge of whatever you''re trying to scan from the white pad under the cover. As a workaround, I literally taped the check to a piece of paper and drew a border around it with a pen! Then the scanner worked just fine! Scanning things that have more contrast and color seems to be ok.

UPDATE 2: Ok, I''ve resolved the scanning issue thanks to Karen of Tacoma who posted the hint that helped me! The printer has an LCD screen with a set of menus. If I try to scan from the LCD screen menus, I get the poor result I mentioned in the first update. However, if I start the "HP Utility" software on my computer and choose the "Scan" application from there, then I get a complete scan and some editing features.

I had an old hp PSC1210 that lasted for over 5 years. Because I refill the cartridges, my printing costs were very low and the printers longevity is amazing! So I looked at the alternatives. In this price range, all the alternative all-in-ones at Walmart are pretty much the same: inkjet printing, wireless, dark grey/black color and all about the same size.

So I bought the Hp 3510.

Setup was interesting. I installed it to my desktop first, which required I connect the USB cable (included) momentarily to tell the printer my WEP password. Be careful! There''s a setup option to remove the hp bloatware but you have to select the "customize" installation button. (I wish that they wouldn''t make it so sneaky!) I installed the basic printer software and the HP update software. I ended up with only 2 new icons on my desktop, an ''HP shop" and an ''Hp utility. I removed the ''hp shop''. The ''utility'' feature has a lot of junk that I really don''t need.

I had a little trouble setting up my other PC''s. First I shared the desktop printer, as I had previously, but then I thought, why keep my desktop on all the time? So I turned the printers "HP wireless direct" on and used this from my laptop. But then I realized that I needed to disconnect from my home network, and connect directly to the printer to use it, then reconnect to the network again. This would be a pain! I configured another laptop similarly. The next day I went back to fix it to use the home network and I found out that the laptops had reconfigured itself to connect through the internet! Cool!

I also connected a mac to the printer. Actually, I gave the install disk to my son and he did it. He said it didn''t work, but when I came back the next day to fix it, it worked!

I tested the scanning feature. It works good on any of the PC laptops. I haven''t tried it on the mac.

My old HP had the paper load and eject from the front but this one feeds in from the top back, so I had to move the new printer to a new spot. It only holds 10 to 15 pages. Make sure to put the page exit extension out or it spits the pages onto the floor.

The old printer had dedicated buttons to copy, scan etc. This one has a small LCD screen with menu options. The screen pops up to make it easier to see, but then you can''t push the buttons. The buttons don''t have good tactile feedback, I often had to push twice, and often it registered twice when I pushed twice. And the menu/button structure isn''t very intuitive. There''s an ''up'' a ''down'' to scroll through the menu and an ''OK'' and a ''-'' (minus sign) but on the screen there''s often 2 choices to select, one is the ''OK'' button, another is the ''minus''. I thought minus meant ''abort''. "Abort" is an ''turn back'' arrow.

Printed pages look good, I don''t see any real differences between this printers output and the old one, but I''m not that particular. I don''t see any glaring problems.

So ,it installs and works fine. I only gave it 4 stars because of the software/bloatware issues and the less than stellar user interface. I''ll update this when I find out how easy it is to refill the ink cartridges.

Update 12/16/12

The software complained that the original ink cartridges were getting low after about 60-70 pages. So I refilled them with the ink I got from my old hp psc-1210. It was pretty easy, just a hypodermic needle poked into the holes on top of the cartridge. After a few inkjet cleaning pages (basically all black or all red etc.) to move the new ink into the cartridge the pages look fine.

The software complains about the inkjet being low, but it still prints. On my wife''s windows 7 starter laptop, it complained that the cartridge was "low or counterfeit" but it still printed. Curiously, my vista PC, my sons mac and my daughters windows 7 didn''t complain.

Great Product, have used HP printers for years and have never had a bad HP product, easy to set up and use and shipment from Amazon was very quick!

Want HP Deskjet 3510 e-All-in-One Printer Discount?

I bought this e-printer during the Christmas specials (local store) for $70 and it''s been doing a bang out job, abeit minor quirks for the past 4-6 weeks. I stress using the CD to load/program the printer to your computer(s). My hubby loaded it on his Mac and tried to program our 3 other computers via the online link but that didn''t prove lucky. I didn''t waste my time trying to figure out the kink--I just re-installed on our other (non-Mac) computers with no problems by using the CD. We have been successful using the iPhone to print also but I haven''t tried my Android phone yet.

The only con is the same with any printer on the face of the earth ink cartridges. Right, companies don''t make money on the printer but the replacement ink cartridges. Thus, this one has small ink cartridges. However, it''s only 2 cartridges vs our other mega ''all-in-one'' that uses 5 cartridges. That printer works great & the ink lasted a long time but going e-printer was the level we needed with a few less printer features.

We have the 3510 for home useage only, so we nix the fax capabilities and this is where a part of the savings is in cost I''m guessing? (funny enough, it has a fax cover sheet in the preprogram forms on the printer database so you''re covered if you need it!)

It can scan, print, copy. It doesn''t do advance work like suck in multiple pages to copy or do double sided. However there are a dozen or so pre-programmed forms for easy printing such as calendars, coversheets, music sheets, checklist and even Sudoku games. You are able to add your own self-made forms to the printer memory.

It does what it needs to do good. A little noisy but nothing distracting. In fact, my son (in his room) likes to hear the printer kick in so he knows that the printer got the prntjob. He can''t hear the 3510 after the initial start.

I agree, this printer is for light to medium printing. 4 stars because until there''s a never ending supply of ink, it''s hard to find a printer that should get 5...IMHO.

Printer works well. Easy to set up. Does a good job of printer. I am able to use it with my router so all the computers in the house can print from anywhere in the house. I''m a happy camper with it.

HP 38 Cyan Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging (C9415A) Save 17% off

HP 38 Cyan Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging
  • Print brilliant, true-to-life photos and fine-art prints with HP''s new pigment-based Vivera inks
  • Get precision color consistency and vivid, true-to-life hues
  • Produce affordable studio-quality photos
  • Cherish long-lasting color photos that resist fading for more than 200 years
  • Replace only the cartridges that runs out among eight individual colors

Five Stars because the HP 38 Cyan Pigment Ink Cartridge was shipped immediately and arrived promptly in good condition. If you use HP 38 ink in your printer, you must have all eight colors in the HP 38 series for your printer to operate properly, so price is a big consideration. Buying blind can cost you more for a complete set of inks, including more than one cartridge for the light gray and a couple of other colors that are used up faster than the others, than a new printer, and in fact I have heard of people that simply buy a new printer (of a different make) because it''s cheaper than the inks. Amazon has a selection of vendors, but be wary I recently picked the lowest price for each color, mostly from one vendor, and when I went to check out I found that this particular vendor charged $9 per cartridge for shipping and handling, making them the most expensive vendor on Amazon.

I stock up on inks only occasionally. The trigger event is when the warning light on the printer for a particular color comes on, and I don''t have that color ready to change. When that happens, I check out what I do have, flesh out what I need to have a complete set including two of light gray, light cyan, and light magenta, and order them all, usually on Amazon. I like genuine HP inks on Amazon because that''s where the price, Amazon Prime free shipping, vendor reliability, and prompt delivery all come together. I need genuine HP inks because I have this printer for studio-quality color prints and I depend on it for my most-invested hobby, and I don''t have the time or patience to deal with cartridges that require color re-calibration or don''t provide the color fidelity that I expect of an 8-ink printer, or that don''t last as long as HP 38 ink cartridges. One of the reasons that I selected this printer was the combination of quality prints, low cost per print, and long life of the ink cartridges, a rare combination.

I recommend genuine HP 38 inks to anyone with a printer that calls for these inks, and recommend Amazon.com as the first place to check for best price. You can depend on Amazon and their associated vendors to deliver the right product promptly every time.

Beware-just opened this cartridge to install (was not needed until now) and discovered that it arrived more than two years past its expiration date. HP excludes all warranties and service if installed out of date. I have written back to the vendor, but past my return window (let''s see what their response will be). Suggest opening package on arrival to confirm expiration dates, then resealing in plastic bag. This product was mis-represented by the vendor and deserves no stars.

  • Print stunning color and black text documents.
  • Stay productive-get consistent, reliable printing.
  • Easily replace, reorder and recycle supplies.

HP original toner cartridges contain not only toner but also the drum and corona wire (e.g., the key parts of the duplication system.) I have used laser printers that had these parts separate, and they also work fine, but the replacement process is a bit of a maintenance challenge for the non-technical. Plus, you must be aware of the way these affect the printing and know when to change them. (Of course, if the average user never uses his printer very much, this might not even come up.)

Still the genius of the HP system is that it always works, and always works well--at least many more hours and copies than historically we have ever had the right to expect from a printer. and TOTALLY in a different class than ink jet technology.

So if you want that reliability and error-free reproduction, you guarantee it by buying original HP toner cartridges from HP.

However, the technology is not rocket science. So a good refurbished cartridge can be every bit as reliable as an original, fit exactly the same, and the corona wire and drum can be replaced. However, this adds quite a bit to the cost, and they don''t need to be replaced as often as the toner wears out--anywhere from 2x to 10x less frequently, probably only the people who refurbish cartridges could tell us for sure and it may depend on the smoothness of the paper you use, etc. Consequently, often a refurbished cartridge is going to have had the drum and corona wire inspected, but not replaced. In fact, if used cartridges are available enough and cheap enough they might never reuse cartridges where the drum or corona wire are damaged. Some companies might even have a lower standard than HP--imagine that! They are after all charging less.

So what I do, is a) try to buy refurbished cartridges from as reliable companies as possible, b) always have an original on hand as a back up in case anything goes wrong, and c) only buy refurbished if the price difference is considerable, say less than half.

Also, this particular cartridge is for a very high resolution color laser printer. I''m getting printing-quality copies that are better than what print shops provided some time ago. 3600 dpi in color boggles my mind. I have printing-quality paper (thicker, glossier, whiter stock) for my PR pieces. It looks awesome, and I can print on demand for less than I can order copies (of lower quality actually) from a print shop. I''m not going to compromise the registration of the four toner cartridges and the pristine quality of original toner powder and new drums and wires for a few pennies per copy.

Hence here you see me buying original toner cartridges from HP! (But I don''t always for every printing application. I do buy laser printers from HP whenever possible, because I know how they will last.)

We''ve purchased various brands of shipping thermal labels in the past and have never had ones that were so poor in quality as these. They look very grainy and are hard for the bar code scanner to scan for USPS shipping, basically this makes them unusable. I would be willing to consider it possibly being the machine but since it started once we used these labels its quite clear its not the machine (especially since its thermal and not ink based)

We''ve sent a return request to the company and we''ll see how well they do customer service, I hope its better than the product but I''m not holding my breath.

This printer is simply amazing. Blazingly fast, super crisp, sharp, high resolution text output. I have been a long time user of HP printers. Mainly because everywhere I worked they had HP. Wow talk about guilty of being a lemming! Never again! Xerox makes far superior printers. Some of the reasons I am now a loyal Xerox customer:

1) Cross platform drivers. Xerox actually cares enough to write drivers for Windows, Linux, and OS X. I proudly only buy Apple computers and come from a UNIX background. So to see Xerox put in the effort and cost to write and maintain cross platform driver support tells me they care about the customer regardless of platform.

2) Dollar for dollar the Xerox won out over HP in speed, output resolution, cross platform support and features. This printer has network and automatic duplex support, supports Postscript 3, 1200 dpi, 30 pages per minute, and on top of that one of the fastest processors found in printers in this price range.

3) It''s in the details dummy. Having used HP printers in the past I have had to connect via a Mac to the printer using a network connection to configure JetDirect. NOT A FAN! HP put no effort into a decent web based connection application to configure the printer over the network. Xerox not only put effort into it, the web feature is fast, easy to understand, works on any of the three supported platforms (which is more than I can say for HP) and makes configuring and upgrading the printers firmware dead simple.

4) Speed. This printer comes stock with 32MB of memory. While I think Xerox drank some drug spiked koolaid to think I am paying $500+ dollars for the 128MB memory module upgrade (thats more than the printer itself!) they offer, I am very happy with the stock 32MB of ram. This thing prints blazingly fast! It''s started printing everything I have thrown at it in under 6 seconds even from sleep mode.

5) Noise. While I am sure someone can point out a printer that prints quieter, this is one of the quietest printers I have ever used. HP''s have been loud and clunky. The Phaser has about half the noise output of any HP I have ever owned.

Xerox has been around for ever. Before buying this printer I had always thought they were mainly making big large digital print hardware for newspapers and magazines. No one I know has or ever had a Xerox printer.

I have learned from the error of my ways. HP is like windows. It may sell more printers than anyone but being number one does not equate to being the best or the best quality. I took a chance on this printer based simply on reading the specs for it. There were very few reviews for it. However the specs matched what I was looking for and then some. The price was reasonable for the feature set and very competitive with the other printer manufacturers. So I took a gamble and purchased the Phaser 3250DN as my first experience with Xerox. I have never been happier with the quality of a product than I am with the Phaser 3250DN. If you want the best printer on the market I strongly recommend the Xerox Phaser line. I can''t say enough good things about it! Xerox makes far better printers than HP. I am a solid lifelong convert to Xerox now.

Buy Xerox Phaser 3250/DN Mono Laser Network Duplex Printer Now

This is a speedy, capable printer. It feels sturdy, and is especially quiet compared to the HP printer it replaced. The combo of features and solid build makes it a good value for the price.

Setup on a Windows 2003 server network was painless. DHCP recognized it immediately and driver software loaded without a hitch. If you want to specify a specific IP address, the included SetIP software makes changing to the preferred address easy.

One potential downside is the manual feeder, which only allows loading a single piece of media at a time. If you''ve got just a handful of envelopes, checks, labels, etc. to print, feeding them one sheet at a time is no biggie, but if you have a bunch to do, this isn''t the best choice.

The 5000 page high capacity toner cartridge keeps maintainance to a minumum and makes per page printing costs attractive, about $0.02 per page.

As a small office or personal printer, it rocks and is a good addition to our collection of reliable Xerox printers in the firm.

We had 8 different printer in our office, I decided to have one standard and some exceptions. I chose this as a standard because I have good experience with Xerox. This was the 4th one we got in our office this year and we had no troubles so far. Easy enough to understand what you have to do with the network setting and not so costy. Best of all it does the job right!

Want Xerox Phaser 3250/DN Mono Laser Network Duplex Printer Discount?

I purchased this Xerox laser printer to replace my 15 year old HP Laserjet 4mp laser printer that died last month. I replaced it with this new Xerox Phaser 3250/DN Mono Laser Network Duplex Printer. After being use to the 15 year old laser printer technology, the Phaser 3250/DN totally-rocks!"

A lightning fast printer and profoundly quiet with superb print quality, all for a little more than the purchase price of two replacement toner cartridges.

I do graphic design on the Mac and Bonjour, in Mac OS X, made it super easy to get it working as a network printer. The Postscript Level 3 emulation is awesome! I can''t believe what technology is providing us at such a low price in 2010. AA+, Xerox!

This is my first laser printer purchase. Infact,I have never purchased any kind of printer before. I had bought Hp officejet pro 8000 just few days ago but got annoyed by warming up and slow speed of that inkjet. I returned it back within a week.I cannot compare inkjet with laser.

Xerox printer software is very simple to install with no crapware as compare to the Hp i got before. It was really straightforward to install the toner for a printer newbie like me. It printed the test page within 30 seconds and i was astonished to see that the text was much superior to the laser printer at my college.

In windows vista, it shows that i have two printer i.e xerox 3250 and xerox 3250 ps. The latter showing the postscript 3 functionality. So far,I have not found any difference between two. It is fast and is far less noisy than the laser printer at my college. I love the duplex functionality which is near fast as printing on second page. I wonder why printer makers still have single sided only printer with no duplex functionality, that is waste of paper. It has not dim the lights so far even in my small apartment.

The only con:

I have not found a way to see how much ink is left in the toner.
