Who would have thought you could get a real-life laser printer for so little money? When I first saw this item on sale, I thought the price was a mistake. When I bought it, I half expected it to be too good to be true. Instead, I found myself with a printing workhorse. I share it on a network with two coworkers. It was easy to set up on our network, prints great quality text and images, and is reasonably fast. This printer exceeds the quality of a laser printer I purchased several years ago for over three times as much. Unless you have need of color printing, or have 20+ users sharing the printer, I can''t see any reason not to get this gem.

While I''m certain this is a good printer- Be warned there are no drivers, beta or otherwise for this printer available from Xerox that will function under Windows 2000. With the release of the OS just weeks away! Also when asked when they might have a driver for this printer under 2000 I was told, "I dunno. If we DO write a driver for it, I wouldn''t expect it until after April." Granted there are some Xerox laser drivers that come standard with Windows 2000 this isn''t one of them. For me anyway it was a big issue, so I returned it and bought the HP Laserjet 1100 (there is already a standard driver in 2000 for the HP printer)

I was truly surprised to find a company like Xerox so behind the curve in the technology market.

I got mine used, 3 years ago, without benefit of knowing how many "miles" it had on it. I downloaded the drivers (less than 1mbnot 20 or 30mb, like some) and they loaded up without a hitch in Win98SE. It has never jammed, despite using various paper weights and qualities, and prints a page in about 6 seconds, with superior clarity. I''ve used it with 4 or 5 different PC''s.

When it ran low on toner, about 6 months ago, I was happy to find out that the cartridge was very easily refillable it already has a plug you just pop out, to add the toner. I got the toner from TonerRefillKits.com for 30 bucks, with excellent instructions, and good for 2 refills. Refilling it restored the print quality to "just like new".

This was my first laser printer, and after using several brands and models of inkjets, all of which invariably had problems with cartridges drying out or leaking, I''m happy to say that the P8 has never failed to print perfectly, either during continuous use, or after sitting idle for several months.

Right now I''m considering getting another one for my second PC, as I''m VERY unhappy with the brand new Lexmark Z23 hooked up to it. I''ll NEVER buy another Lexmark product.

You simply can''t go wrong with the Xerox DocuPrint P8!!

I have owned a p8 for 6 months and put 3000 + pages monthly through it. If all you ever do is print single sided then this is a bargain for a printer. Try printing on paper that has already been through the printer and it noticably smudges the paper when doing this.It also misfed constantly. ( due to the curl caused by printer) This occured using many kinds of paper.

Supplies are a little on the expensive side, a drum and toner costing over the the price of the whole unit. Driver setup was quick with no major problems, good instructions( from previous experience good tech support )

Again this is non typical use, I was given the printer to try and would not argue that it would admirably be able to handle a life of homework and home finance for 2 years without hassle.

This is my 2nd Xerox P8. I wore out the plastic gears after 3 yrs of use on the 1st. Paper exits up or down as you wish. Rarely jams (unlike another reviewers experience) and even takes pages already printed and with adhesive notes attached (although that''s really not recommended). The print is great. If you don''t mind having smeared ink all over, you can get an Ink-Jet model for the same money, but this little laser is great no smears. I got my second one on-line, used but never used! Works just as good as the 1st one.... For a tight budget and a small desktop, this P8 can''t be beat.

Not much really to say other than the labels have worked out great for our purpose. We needed a lot of reasonably priced CD labels to print for our company software. We needed a specific layout of the label sheet, which these provided and we can use them on either a laser or ink jet printer.

Hewlett Packard - HP Q5449A Premium Inkjet Matte Presentation Paper

Hewlett Packard - HP Q5449A Premium Inkjet Matte Presentation Paper, 8.5 x 11 inch, 150 Sheet

  • Dazzle your clients with this professional-weight paper that looks and feels impressive
  • PEFC-certified fiber from well-managed forests
  • Recyclable in community collection systems that accept mixed paper

I received this product as part of the Amazon Vine program. It came as a bonus to the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Wireless e-All-in-One (CM755A#B1H) I received to test drive.

After printing off a newsletter and a photo or two with regular paper using the 8500A, I was disappointed to find that the paper was overly saturated with ink and the images were not as sharp as I would have liked. When I traded the regular paper for the Hewlett Packard HP Premium Presentation Paper 120g, Matte (8.5" x 11") (Two-Sided) (150 Sheets/Package), Part Number Q5449A, it made all the difference!

Images whether photos or graphics were sharp and bright on this paper. The text was too. Colors were true, and the matte finish was easy on the eyes.

Because of this paper being ''two-sided'' (I thought that was funny because ALL paper is two-sided isn''t it...), it is specially coated on each side to not let ink soak through to the other side. I didn''t notice it doing it when both sides were printed, but initially was worried as when I did a photo on one side without doing the other side, I did notice some spots seemed to bleed through slightly. That could be my printer an inkjet who thinks she''s a laser printer just shooting the ink a bit more heavy handedly than others may.

Overall I''m very pleased with this paper. It''s not a super thick paper, but would work very well for school, home and office projects with lots of graphics or photos. Being ''two-sided'' it also will cut down on using too much paper. Essentially, when you purchase this box of 150 sheets...it''s like buying 300 because you can use both sides and have the end-product come out equally fabulous.

This scanner is great for managing your home office paperwork and some pictures. Is not a great picture scanner but does an OK job for emailing stuff and Facebook type stuff. I would recommend a flatbed scanner for saving higher quality pictures.

The software packaged with the scanner is top notch. You can scan a document and add it to an existing document stack with no problem. The stack can be a pdf document too. The software adopts the My Documents structure (not sure if it does so automatically or if its a setting) and allows you to scan directly to particular folder.

Just scratching the surface of this product but so far I am very satisfied.

* One Star for the CEO of VISIONEER(c). "I" got the unit to work. It was blurry. Tech support was useless. I even talked to the CEO of the Visioneer and he complained that "I" took up too much of his tech support team in finding his problem. It was a fix THEY should have known about. Instead of focusing on the problem, HE considered our "team" effort of finding and resolving the problem, a problem. We have a term for people like this in the Marines, A554*1@. He should have thanked me for finding the problem and paid me for my time HIS tech support waisted.

I''ve never forgotten the disreprect this man showed toward the Corps, and will always NOT recommend his scanner, even though it would be great in the field. It doesn''t even come with a dust sleeve like the Road Warrior did.

And yes, I still use it for 1000''s of Marines a year. 1000''s. But recommend nobody get the disrespect NOT deserving of this excuse for a professional.

I bought this scanner and immediately noticed that one side scanned great while the other side scanned fuzzy. I tried to adjust the settings all day long but couldn''t focus the scanner on the one side, since I purchased a dual sided scanner it is important for me to be able to scan both sides as best as possible. So, I returned it and exchanged it for another one (same model) thinking it might have been an issue with that particular scanner. When the new one arrived it was worse. The one side still scanned fuzzy, but the "good side" now scanned with a lot of lines. I tried for hours to make the lines go away and nothing. I am now sending this one back too. I will consider other scanners since this one disappointed.

I''m keeping this scanner, only because it''s lightning fast and works great with Twain Multiple Acquire. However, if you''re an inexperienced and easily frustrated Windows user, you may end up throwing this against the wall before you get it working. I only thought about that, three different times. But since I''m a propeller head, I kept trying. Firstly, the quick start instructions were printed on one of those Huge 20" x 30" sheets of paper, folded so that each fold makes up a page. As you open the first fold, it says "Quick Start". I figured those two pages were the quick start part for impatient owners. So I followed it, where it ends with "Now turn on your scanner". Win7 failed to install it. Page 3 says "DON''T TURN ON YOUR SCANNER UNTIL TOLD TO"??? I then opened up the entire instructions, noticed my 2nd page was actually the 2nd step, and who ever designed it intended you to read across the top pages and carriage return to the 2nd row of pages. I thought it was like a Newspaper (top to bottom). REALLY BAD DESIGN to save money. Next when I did follow the instructions in the right order, I put in the CD and it went to install the drivers, and just ended and said "failed to install" (first thought to toss it against the wall). When I said Cancel, it said "Are you sure you want to Cancel?". YES. It went on and installed the rest of the software without the drivers (second thought to toss it against the wall). I immediately jumped to their web site figuring the CD is old. I did find lots of software and drivers for Win7. I started over with it, including a Hidden Devices EXE. They don''t explain what that is or when you need it, but I went through and manually deinstalled all software from them. Ran Hidden Devices, which looks around for some of their drivers, then takes you to Device Manager for your do delete any "hidden" versions of their drivers. I then tried their Web installs. It installed everything OK but wouldn''t feed in the calibration sheet (bad sign). I figured I''d try it anyway. Every time I inserted a document it said "Scanning". Then said "User has canceled Scan" (I didn''t). (third thought to toss it against the wall). Being wise and patient, I deinstalled everything. Visioneer has had a LONG history of poor installs and they continue to seemingly be unable to even deisntall their own software properly (same experience on a Strobe XP 100). It got so bad in the old days, you had to use RegEdit and delete keys. Well, hidden devices worked OK in this regard I think. I''m still puzzled because MANY other companies know exactly what to do to remove their old software, and install their new, right from within Installshield? Rookies. After about 8 years, they still haven''t figured it out and had to write that Hidden Devices kludge. At this point I rebooted and decided to try the CD again. Now it worked fine and went all the way through all installs and read the calibration paper (good sign). However, the One Touch from the old days was clear, set your size and auto feed scans to that size. I couldn''t get it to do a very good job and I had to press scan to start a scan. I wanted to just start feeding sheets and it takes care of scanning and writing it to a file. I can''t stop with both hands trying to feed my paper, just to click SCAN with my mouse! My old strobe would scan on insertion? This is really bad, but it WAS scanning finally. I killed their program and fired up my fav Image software and tried a Multiple Twain Acquire. You have to kill their OneTouch systray program or it will put you in a deadly embrace with the Twain driver, and you''ll be forced to kill your imaging software. (I''ll look for a setting to not start it at Start up) FINALLY........ by using Multiple Twain Acquire, I got to where I wanted: a panel that let me easily scan via auto feed, sheet after sheet after sheet. It autosized each scan, stopping at the bottom automatically, cropping accordingly. It did duplex about half the speed but was easy to switch back and forth from simplex, at the click of a button. Deskew worked good. 200 dpi was fuzzier than the my old Strobe XP 100. Higher dpi might be better. Also their duplex times are deceptive, they claim only a fraction of a second more for the reverse side. They make it sound like it''s 5 secs for simplex but 5.3 secs for duplex. But it''s really both the front and back times added together for 10.3 secs. It seems almost faster to flip the document over. But duplex DOES work. It has convenient controls for exposure and such right on the Twain control panel. If you try to feed your next doc in too soon it says "scanning page 2" but if you pull that page out, it never gives up waiting on it, and your only option is cancel, which tosses your first page. HOWEVER, it is so darn fast I could hardly keep up with it. It also does a great job orienting your image and trimming it. I did all my scans in half the time, just the first night. So I''m keeping it. But only because I had to fight this puppy to work the way I wanted to. OK for Win7 64-bit. I recommend Twain but will continue to test their mysterious, non-intuitive One Touch software. Oh yeah, you know where they say "Use A/C power *OR* USB Power"? Well you know what that REALLY is?? They give you a SECOND USB cable with a power plug on the end. So to go without A/C you have to use up TWO USB ports. Why does everyone else know how to get power out of USB, but these guys couldn''t figure it out unless they use a 2nd USB port? Caveat Emptor.

From the photo also used by Kopykake resellers, I assumed these would be Kopykake brand that I have used before. No, these are Ink4Cakes own sheets, on a clear backing sheet, more brittle than Kopykake. No ingredients on the packaging or on the website. I had to email them to get the detailed ingredients listing, which is almost identical to Kopykake. Baking frosting sheets directly onto cookie dough isn''t in the product specs, but Kopykake works great. Sadly the Ink4Cakes sheets drastically change color after baking (mid-gray went vivid purple), even using the same Kopykake food inks & same printer on both brands of sheets. For laying on cakes or any non-heat applications these should work fine, but since I usually bake frosting sheets directly onto cookie dough, I won''t be buying these again, and will gladly pay the higher price for Kopykake.

I was looking for a new printer to replace the Epson that died on me after a short period of usage and decided to go back to HP. When browsing their mid-range printers I saw this wireless model. Having set up my wireless network this year and having my father on the same network and the chance of friends stopping by who might want to use the printer I thought that it would be perfect. This printer works as a plain USB printer (cable not included), or as a network printer. Using it as a network printer you have 2 choices. The first is to use the included ethernet cable and hook the printer up to your local network. The second is to turn the thing on and have it automatically detect your wireless network and jump on the network. I set it up with my powerbook and I have to say it was the easiest setup EVER. This printer is rendezvous enabled which is great for Mac OSX users. You just select the printer from the list when you go to print and you are DONE. There is nothing else to do, everything is ready to start printing! You can also set up the included software on the CD which installs HPs own custom drivers and autodetects the printer on the network for you. This probably works the same way on windows. Another cool thing is that the printer has web configuration. You can either figure out the IP and put it in the browser (and change it there too if you like) or on your Rendezvous enabled mac you can select it from the Rendezvous menu in safari where it shows up.

As for the the hardware side, this is an above average quality ink jet printer. The DPI (dots per inch, how much detail goes into what you print) on it is pretty good compared to some other printers in the same range, and the printing speed is also pretty good.

The paper feed is much better than top feed printers I have in the past which had trouble getting the paper aligned. You can also get an extra tray if you want to hold more paper. I think this would be a nice printer for a small office, or home network where you have several people with computers and/or notebooks.

So overall this is an low end network printer with wifi or a high end deskjet with wifi. Either way, I think this printer is a really great product

I bought this printer after my 5 year old Deskjet 930C died. I wanted an inkjet that had built-in network connectivity for use in my home network. I considered the Epson C84N, but it does not have a duplex accessory and the network connectivity is by way of a bundled print server device. Then I found the HP 5850. It had the features that I was looking for. It can be connected via USB cable, wireless 802.11b, Ethernet cable, or all three at once if you wish.

The out of box experience was very good. Plugged in the power, inserted the ink carts, and connected it to my router with a CAT5 cable. The first time it is powered on with the ink carts installed it goes through a configuration that takes 2 or 3 minutes. After that, the printer easily found an IP address using DHCP. Installation of the software from the included CD was equally smooth on both of my Win XP Pro pcs, the software found the printer and was ready to use within a couple minutes. Best of all, the duplex accessory from my old 930C also fits the 5850, saving the expense of having to buy a new one.

Print quality is very good, and is quicker than my 930C. Picture quality is much better and that is with the normal tri-color cartridge, I have not yet tested using the photo cart.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this printer, it is a very nice upgrade from my previous inkjet and just the thing for those of us needing to easily share a printer on a small network.

I bought this printer beacuse I have several computers at home (both Mac and PC) and I needed something I could put in a shelf and print from whichever computer. It works GREAT!!!

It is easy to install and setup. The driver installation is easy on both platforms. And it is quite fast. No extra are cables needed just plug it to the power outlet and you are all set. It also has an ethernet port if you do not have wireless or prefer to have it plugged into your network hardware.

(Revised review September 12th, 2004)

After disconnecting my base station (802.1b), my wireless connection to the printer stopped working. I spent 2-3 hours trying to reconfigure the printer, and was about ready to smash it. Upon awaking the next morning, I tried once more to follow the directions on how to configure the printer for wireless printing. Here''s what I found: since I have a password protecting my network, I have to enter a WEP Hexadecimal password for other users to connect, ie. my printer to connect itself to the network. All this time I was skipping this important step. A dialog box pops up and gives me the WEP Hex password, some series of numbers, letters, and characters. I copied this number down, and went back to configuring the printer. This time, I entered this number in the WEP field, and viola, the printer now works wirelessly! I am raising the scale to 4 stars now. Still, the set up procedure seems demanding, and I''ve used computers since 1985. Of course, I''m used to true plug and play on the Macintosh, so again, I think I may not know enough about wireless networking to really know if the set up procedure is more cumbersome or not. For me, it was very difficult.

However, the print quality is very good. I recommend this printer to anyone looking for a wireless solution that is Mac/PC friendly.

(Original review July 2004)

I bought this printer because of its wireless potential. And it works great, once it is set up. I run OS X, and I always argue that things works so well on the Mac, and they typically do. This printer set up, however, seems rediculous. Perhaps it is because I do not know enough about wireless networking. Apple uses the incredibly easy to use networking protocol Rendezvous, which in theory doesn''t need any driver installed (or perhaps the driver is installed by Apple in the OS, and this one is not, yet.) At least that''s my limited knowledge and experience with Rendezvous using an HP 4600 Color Laser at my work location. Just plug the ethernet cable into the printer and there it is in the Add Printer box. However, this printer required me not only to install a driver, but then follow a complicated set up procedure, plugging in a network cable, turning on/off the printer. When that didn''t work, I tried several things, including restarting the computer Finally, I reinstallled the software, and then it worked. This seems rediculous. This is exactly the reason I do not use the Windows OS. Perhaps I do not know enough about wireless connectivity, and this may be the only way to set up a wireless printer to work with an 802 network. If true, then I appologize to Windows users and HP. If this is as easy as it gets, then there needs to be more thought put into the install process, because it sure wasn''t easy at all.

Second, the printer seems loud. It runs like an Epson inkjet that this is replacing. When you go to print, there is an inordinate amount of clacking, and the paper feed is part of the problem.

Fortunately, the printer does work wirelessly, which is the only reason I will keep this. And I like the paper feed in front of the printer, as opposed to on top like Epson made in the past.

Perhaps after working with this printer for a few weeks I will up my rating, but for now, this gets 3 stars.

I have both Mac and a PC, so I needed a printer that talked to both easily. This printer was the answer. My office arrangement would have required running wires to connect both pcs so the wireless solution was just what I needed.

The setup was a bit bumpy, but connecting a temporary network cable to the printer solved the problems and I was up an running wireless within an hour (which included unpacking the printer).

The printer works great and is quiet.

Love this size holds pages from other major brand suppliers, like Day Timer, Franklin Covey, etc. A perfect size for my use. I find the size is great, not too small to write in, yet not so large it takes up a lot of real estate on my desk. I bought several so I can carry just the pages I want/need, like my shopping list.

I really wanted to believe that I could pay a lot less for an ink cartridge for my Epson Picture Mate Photo Printer as I was tired of paying such a high price for cartridges that printed so few pictures.

I ordered this product, sincerely hoping it would work. It did not. I inserted the cartridge as I always had done before. I turned the printer on and immediately rec''d a message on my computer something to the effect to "insert a cartridge into the printer." It would not recognize this cartridge. When I tried to get it out, I had to pry it out (with the help of an additional person) each having a pair of scissors and gently working it out. I really thought it would not even come back out or that we would break something internally in the process of removing it.

I''ve always heard not to use generic ink cartridges on our printers and now I guess I believe that.

This cartridge didn''t work at all with my Picturemate. The printer didn''t even recognize the cartridge. I called them up and they said that I would have to step through their tech support before they would give me a credit or send a replacement.

Tech support? Really? For a printer cartridge? With cartridges that work, I plug them in, and they work.

A complete waste of money.

I was quite disheartened by all the negative comments. I had bought a pair of those cartridges and, sure enough, I had the dreaded "cartridge unrecognized" message on my Picturemate.

But, but, but... I found the solution to my problem by examining the cartridge.

First: trust the diagnostic: the cartridge is not recognized.

Second: ask why ?

All ink cartridges are identified trough one of those mechanisms: bar code sticker or a small connection pad to the innards of the cartridge. The 5570 has no bar code but it has a very small PC board tucked on the left side (facing the printer) with 5 contact pads.

Third: is there anything obviously preventing the contact on the five pads to be made?

Answer: yes, there was such a thing!

The little PCboard is positioned by two things:

a rivet

a plastic tongue and notch (in the PCboard)

Guess what: the plastic tongue, formed with the rest of the cartridge, was protruding way above the level of the contact pads on the PCboard. Hence preventing the Picturemate to "sense" the cartridge!

Fourth: take your preferred X-acto knife and remove the excess plastic off the tongue.

Fifth: re-mount the cartridge and enjoy!

Dumb me: it took me so long to figure this out.

This cartridge didn''t work or fit couldn''t close door with my Picturemate. The printer didn''t even recognize the cartridge. I called them up and they said that I would have to step through their tech support before they would give me a credit or send a replacement, what a mess... Amazon needs to take this off their website.

HP 17BII Financial Calculator

HP 17BII Financial Calculator
  • Over 250 built-in functions
  • Algebraic notation
  • Reverse Polish notation
  • Business/finance features
  • 2-line, 22-character LCD

One of the best features of this calculator is that the calculations (i.e. present value/future value calculations and basic mortgage payment calculations)are menu driven using a series of buttons at the top of the calculator. You simply input the data per the associated input button. In addition, this calculator is a lot easier to use than the 12B which is the standard in the leasing industry. The 17B version allows you to input your data in a straight forward fashion rather than the "reverse" data input method of the 12C. HP also did a good job with the instructional booklet you receive with the calculator. The booklet gives you numerous sample problems and does a good job of highlighting the capabilities of the calculator in an easy to understand format without all the technical jargon. I wouldn''t be without this calculator.

Look no further. The classic HP workhorse is a legend for good reason. This is the best financial calculator available. It is durable, easy to use, and highly versatile. Many HP calc lovers prefer the 12C to this because of size. Fair enough, but if you don''t have the time or care to learn RPN then the 17BII is your ticket as it allows either RPN or algabraic entry.

The programmable solver is an awesome tool as it saves a ton of time for calcs outside of the 250 preprogrammed. Also, the feel of the push button keys are superior to other brands. There is no doubt an entry took place. Excellent battery life. Sure it is a little pricey compared to other financial calculators but you will never need another. This baby is built like a ''56 Buick and will probably outlast you. If you are searching for a financial calculator then you understand the importance of value over low cost. This is the one.

This calculator will never need to be replaced. It is a typical HP product fantastic tools, durable, entirely customer focused.

If you are a business student or finance professional, the HP 17BII is the financial calculator to purchase. It provides the necessary functionality (e.g. solves the appropriate kinds of time value of money & IRR problems, provides memory, etc.), but what I really find useful is "intuitive" data entry in solving these problems relative to the HP 12C (which I also own). For Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidates, it is also the "top-of-the-line" HP model since the more advanced versions are programmable, which is disallowed by the AIMR during testing.

I have used the HP17BII for about 6 years now. I also own a 19B. I really like the 17BII for all of its functionality. It got me thru undergrad (Wayne State U in Detroit) and grad school and became the recommended calculator at my school (Clark Atlanta U) for all grad and undergrad students. Unlike some of the lesser priced machines, the 17BII will still be functional when you are in the work force doing a complex Black-Scholes calculation. I really believe that it is the absolute best financial calculator out there followed by the 19B, 10B, 12C and then the BAII plus.

Epson Premium Glossy 8 1/2 x 11 Inch Photo Paper 20 Count (S041286) Save 41% off

Epson Premium Glossy 8 1/2 x 11 Inch Photo Paper 20 Count
  • For photo-quality inkjet printers, especially Epson Stylus Color, Photo, and Scan series
  • Bright white for high color saturation
  • Recommended for 720 or 1440 dpi print modes
  • Convenient letter size, 8.5 by 11 inches
  • 20 sheets per pack

As a professional photographer, I''ve tested many different types of paper and Epson''s Premium Line is by far the best. Everyone who sees the results (printed on the Epson 870/1270) can''t believe it. The look and feel is the same as a photograph. The only way you''d know it was printed on an inkjet is by looking at the back to see the ''Epson'' watermark.

Epson also produces the Premium Luster (an "E" surface or matte paper) and Premium Semi-Gloss Papers. They are all great papers, but the Premium Glossy affords the most contrast (which is to be expected from a glossy paper).

To lenghten this paper''s longevity we reccomend displaying behind glass or keeping the prints in sheet protectors where the print doesn''t have contact with the air. Under those conditions it will last a long time without a noticeable change--probably years, if not longer, according to Epson

Until a few months ago, this was by far the best quality paper available for printing photos with a good photo printer, such as the Epson Stylus Photo 870. Print contrast, brightness, resolution, and color saturation, are excellent. The paper also works very well with black and white photographs. The blacks are remarkably deep and rich. Epson warns purchasers that the prints made with this paper are not as permanent as those made with conventional photographic papers, and it is important to protect the finished prints by putting them in albums or frames, and of course they must be kept away from direct sunlight. But Epson has now upstaged this paper with the new Epson ColorLife Paper. ColorLife is a semigloss paper that is generally superior to Premium Glossy, in terms of color saturaton and fine detail. And ColorLife is said to be much more resistant to fading.

This paper produces outstanding prints with Epson Photo printers, but there have been numerous reports that the images tend to turn orange over a fairly short time; supposedly, Epson''s cyan ink reacts with atmospheric ozone when printed on this paper.

Epson is aware of this problem, and is working on a more stable version of this paper. They are also quietly accepting returns of printers and media from customers complaining about the orange-shift effect.

I''ve used this paper a bit, and haven''t noticed any problems yet, but your mileage may vary.

I have used this paper with several Epson printers and I must say that I was amazed every time I use it. Once you set your printer to print pictures no other, paper will do if you want truly photographic quality pictures. The paper itself if of very high quality and feels and looks just like the paper you get from the photo development store. I would recommend this paper very much if you want to print photos at home in very high quality.

Believe me paper matters. When you put the wrong paper in your printer, you get very weird results.

P.S. This review was before I had used Kodak''s One Touch to better Pictures. Please see my Kodak Paper review prior to making your buying decision. I was really impressed with what Kodak did.

REVIEW IS BASED ON USE ON THE EPSON 890:

When I bought my Epson 890, I bought several different packs of Epson paper, this 8.5 X 11 one and some 4 X 6 sheets as well as the roll paper. See my separate reviews on the others items (including the printer) also on this site, if you are interested in them. However, finally, I got around to trying the 8.5 X 11 paper. You see you wait until you have the perfect picture to do an enlargement.

NICE QUALITY IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT USES

It did not dissappoint. Wow, the colors were great. I took several types of pictures and different lighting and the result were great. Now that I''ve tried it I''m hooked. People who have seen the pictures first of all can''t believe they are off an inkjet printer. Then they marvel at the color and sharpness of the photo.

PAPER AND PRINTER INTERATION:

One caution, those of you that think you can use any paper on any printer... Forget it. I had some paper from another supplier and when I used it on the Epson, the ghostly images were terrible. It seems not surprisingly that the printers are optimized for their papers. And to be honest, it is not worth the money to me to try a bunch of other manufacturer''s paper only to find out the results would be bad.

EASIER TO FIND ON THE WEB THAN IN THE STORES:

This paper is easier to find on the net. I have looked in my usual spots for this paper off the web and considering not only computer, office supply and grocery stores it is just not out there.

Great product... Enjoy.

The 36 pack is overpriced (~25% more) compared to the 108 packs, and I wanted the Credit Card size paper but got postcard backed 4x6" paper. The tiny, blurry pictures of these items on Amazon makes it easy to confuse the different paper sizes. Their photo for the 108IN is even wrong, showing the 108IP. Here''s a complete list.
