- Compact, Fast and Robust Color Laser Printer to fit in any environment
- Versatile Functionalities with Print, Copy and Scanning Features
- Hprint Screen button allows you to print quickly whatever is on your screen
Color copying and scanning work well with good quality output. It is really nice to have color copying at a such an affordable price. I installed on an iMac running OSX 10.7 Lion. After installing the Samsung software the Mac''s Software Update found newer software. There is a built-in Utility app accessible through the Mac System Preferences>Fax and Print pref pane. Scanning works through Apple''s scanning software.
Its compact size makes it versatile for smaller spaces. This has been the printer I have been waiting for. The ability to print and copy in color, while also producing high quality B/W printing, and scanning too for less than $200 is a great addition to my home office.
Things I don''t like: The software for Macs in the Samsung online support page is poorly marked and has little documentation to help decipher the options. Since there is no wireless or fax you really just need to install the latest driver, then let Software Update do the rest. It is slow but all color laser printers are slow to get started. Power consumption is high so you can save by printing in batches and powering off when not using the computer. The paper tray is a little tricky to remove and load, and it does not hold a large amount of paper.
Things I like: Nice compact design, clearly marked buttons and a LCD status screen. Great features and output for the money. Easy to access and change cartridges. Absolutely quiet when not in use.

***warning-not wireless capable******warning-not network capable***
***warning-USB cable necessary but not included***
I just got this printer. It''s a great size for what it does, it looks nice, and the first print job came out beautifully. One annoyance is that there was no USB cable included. In order to use the printer, you will need a USB cable of the kind that printers use (with the squarish connector on one end). It does say on the box that the USB cable is not included, but that was not apparent when I was ordering on line. Also, I was surprised to find out the printer is not wireless or even network capable (Samsung makes similar models that are wireless capable--look for N, W, or FW tacked onto the model number). Because it''s not networkable, you cannot plug it into your router and use it as a network printer. In order to share it on a network, you have to either share it from the computer that you plug it into, or get a wireless router that acts as a USB printer server. However, sharing from the Mac computer that it''s plugged into seems to work fine, for both printing and scanning.
Samsung''s telephone tech support is excellent. Also, software installation on the Mac was as easy as you would hope for from Apple--just plug and play and use Apple''s Image Capture application to scan. No need to install the software on the CD.Picked this up on black Friday for under $100 shipped. Wow! I never imagined the day where I could buy a color laser printer for that kind of price. It''s fairly compact. It''s quiet and prints very well. I''m replacing my inkjet all in one and much prefer this for daily use. I like not having to worry about inks drying out, streaking on certain papers, etc. Love that I don''t have to worry about buying new cartridges all the time. Black yields 1500 pages! That''s about 2.6 cents a page. Not bad! This is a great machine that I can definitely recommend. Scanner works well. Wished I could have gotten the step up model with document feeder but for 3 times the price I could not justify it. Even for twice what I paid it''s a bargain.I don''t know where you''d find a better color laser printer/scanner/copier for the price (got it on sale for 120). If the CLX-3185 has the features you need, I think you''ll be happy with it. Note that some people with early versions of the CLX-3185 had issues with paper jams. This has since been fixed with a firmware update. Some people don''t like to have to update a brand new electronic product, but that''s relatively common these days. Anyway, I don''t think you''ll be disappointed with this printer, especially if you get it at a good price. And no more ink to dry up and/or clog the print heads like inkjet printers. That, plus a sharp color laser which includes a scanner and copier in a relatively compact size made it a good deal for me.I wish I would have never bought this printer. I have had nothing but problems. It worked for the first couple of days, then got a paper jam. There are no pieces of paper left in there, but it continues to jam in the back. I have taken it apart and cannot find cause as to why it keeps jamming. I am using good quality paper and not overfilling the paper tray. I am very disappointed with this printer, as I have never had a problem with Samsung products in the past.

Unfortunately, each consecutive image was just a little bit more off from its respective business card than the previous one. The last magnet''s image on the page ended up being about 2 millimeters too high, which meant the words at the top of it were cut off/had run over into the previous magnet, and there was a horizontal white bar at the bottom.
I suspect that this problem is the result of the magnetic sheet not being flat (the edges of each of the magnetic cards are curled up slightly), causing it to feed into the printer badly. I came to this conclusion because my test run on regular paper came out lined up right.
Only purchase this product if you''re willing to take the time and make your own template (not to mention, waste multiple magnet sheets in test runs)!

We used these at our church to create magnets to promote an upcoming Easter service. They turned out really well. The only complaint I had was that you had to feed the magnet paper one sheet at a time because they would stick together and go through all at once. That was an easy fix though. They also didn''t provide a template but gave you way to find a template online. We just created our own and that worked well enough. They looked authentic and did work just like a magnet should! Very pleased. We bought 2 packs to begin with and have now purchased at least 10-15 more packs because we like the end product so much!Read Best Reviews of Avery Ink Jet Magnetic Business Cards (8374) Here
These worked very well, except when the product jammed in the printer. The magnetic business cards are thicker than card & photographic paper, and the feeder had a little bit of trouble with them. Otherwise, we produced beautiful and functional magnetic business cards.Want Avery Ink Jet Magnetic Business Cards (8374) Discount?
I used this product at my company to create inventory tags on various metal shelves. The tags work great and I thought the magnet was fairly strong considering it''s thickness and size. I had no trouble printing them at all using a fairly dated laserjet printer. If you use a cheap deskjet with poor rollers it probably won''t print correctly. You also should hold both the sides while it''s feeding to ensure it''s fed straight.A note on the templates: I''ve never had an avery template in Word that I could just use without making minor tweaks. This one I had to slightly adjust the height of each business card so they were all even. Definitely check first by printing on a thick piece of paper before wasting a whole sheet of magnets.I used these to label our metal filing cabinets at work. They are a little flimsy, but work perfectly as labels.

- Ultra HD photo inks last 4x longer than lab prints
- Photos with unsurpassed richness, depth, and clarity
- Smudge, scratch, water, and fade resistant prints
- Convenient, individual ink cartridges
The ink works stellar on Costco premium photo paper that I personally like more than Epson. It is cheaper and dries faster and looks as good. This ink produces professional quality prints. Epson has done it again.
Nonetheless,it is immaterial what these lab test claim. What matters is what happens in real life. I am not going to make a print that is draft quality which is what alot of these tests do. I am making fine art photos.
Here is the glitch...I printed 5 8x10''s and 3 4x6 with margins. My light cyan is 2/3rd''s gone. The high capacity black is 1/3 gone and light magenta is 1/2 gone. That is roughly $15 Epson prices or a little under $3/ print. Costco for an 8x10 is $1.79 and 11 1/2x 14 is $2.79 The Epson eats ink like candy. I suspect that the prices for prints are much cheaper commercially.Obviously custom prints are going to be higher. So it comes down to convience and creative control. When the cost is almost 2x what a commercial lab charges, it may not be worth it.
Price: Amazon beats Epson by $3 on the 5 pack and if you have super saver then it is money in your pocket. Epson beats Amazon by $4 on the black and if you buy 3 or more inks there is free overnight shipping. Interestingly the high capacity black which they sell the most of is $2 more than the other colors.....go figure.
Caveat emptorEpson was found to have made the electronics on it''s printer cartriges reflect empty cartridges when they were not empty so buyers would have to buy more ink cartriges. We all know Epson makes money selling ink. Printers do not make big bucks, ink does.I received a bunch of coupons that supposedly I could enter the numbers into their website and get free ink. The number never worked, ergo no free ink.
So that is the ink story. I think I am going to check out the Canon all in ones before I decide to keep this Epson. The last I saw Canon had come way up in quality and the inks are cheaper.
Buy Epson Claria T099920 Hi-Definition 99 Standard-capacity Inkjet Cartridge Color Multipack Now
This Epson 99 Color Multipack is quite a bargain, when you need replacement ink cartridges for your Epson Artisan 700 or 800 model printer. This multipack includes all 5 standard capacity color cartridges (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta), but does NOT include a black cartridge. Purchasing the multipack will usually save you anywhere from $5 to $10, over buying the cartridges individually, depending on where you buy it from. If you need a replacement black cartridge, you will need to order the #98 Black separately. All of the cartridges in this multipack are the Epson #99 standard capacity type, which are claimed to yield approximately 500 pages each, based on the ISO/IEC 24711 and 24712 standard for ink jet products. Of course the page count will vary, depending on the amount of ink coverage of each particular color you use on each given page. In comparison, the #98 high capacity color ink cartridges are claimed to yield approx. 855 pages per color, based on the same ISO test standards. Black is only available in #98 high capacity, which is rated at about 545 pages (it is assumed that more black ink is used per page than color ink). This Epson 99 Color Multipack, as well as the #98 black cartridges are available at most online and local retailers. But as of this review date, the #98 high capacity color cartridges are only available for purchase directly from the Epson website.
The Claria ink in these cartridges is boasted to produce photos with unsurpassed richness, depth and clarity, and is also smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant. Epson claims that this ink, when used in combination with Epson Premium Photo Paper, produces better quality photos than you can get from a photo lab. As for my personal experience, I have found this ink to indeed produce very rich and vivid color photos, which look at least as good as I can get from a local photo lab. What amazes me is how quickly this ink dries, when used on Epson Premium photo paper. After the photos print, at the highest print quality settings on my Artisan 800, I can touch the printed side of the paper within 15 to 20 seconds without smudging. Within 2 to 3 minutes the ink has dried enough for normal handling. In comparison, when I print at highest quality settings on my HP OfficeJet 7310, using HP Premium Plus photo paper and HP Vivera ink, I have to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes before I can even touch the printed side of the photos, and a couple of hours before the photos can be handled without extra caution. I have also tested the water resistant claims of the Epson Claria ink, and do find that it is resistant to slight amounts of moisture. Please note the words "resistant" and "slight" in that last sentence. If a small drop of water comes in contact with the printed Claria ink, and is allowed to dry without touching or smearing it, the photo will show little to no signs of discoloration or damage to the image. However, if any part of the image becomes saturated with water, or if the drop(s) of water are smeared in any way, you can definitely see signs of discoloration and/or color smudging/smearing. When I tested my HP Vivera ink in the same manner, even the slightest amount of moisture introduced to the prints would cause obvious damage to the images. Therefore I can personally back the claim that the Epson Claria ink, as used in the #99 cartridges, is modestly water resistant. The claim of scratch resistance is also true, unless a very sharp or pointed object is dragged across the print. So for normal everyday handling, this Claria ink seems to stand up to a moderate amount of abuse without the photo being ruined. I do not have the means to test the fade resistance claims, so I guess I have to take Epson at its word in this area.
Another thing I would like to point out, regarding my previous experience with Epson Claria inks, is that it does not tend to dry up and clog the print heads nearly as easily as I have experienced with the HP Vivera ink. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R380 Inkjet Printer, which uses Claria ink cartridges, and I can let the printer sit, unused, for several weeks, and still get perfect printing results without having the run a cleaning cycle on the printer. This makes me believe that the Claria ink cartridges will remain good, when left in the printer for extended periods of time. It also shows that Epson has designed a good method of sealing the print heads very well when in the parked position.
I am extremely impressed with the #99 Claria ink cartridges, and find this Epson 99 Color Multipack to be a great bargain. At the time of this review, this multipack provides all 5 main color cartridges for less than $10 each, here on Amazon.com. To me this is a very good price for such high quality ink. I highly recommend this multipack to anyone who owns or is purchasing an Epson Artisan 700 or 800 model printer. The Artisan series printers are great products (see my review of the Epson Artisan 800 Wireless Photo All-in-One Printer), and this Claria ink, when used with Epson Premium photo paper, is the perfect companion for these amazing printers.I read the reviews concerning the Epson ink cartridges, specifically for the Artisan 700/800 series. Amazon''s current price for the color 5-pack is indeed among the best prices I''ve seen for that 5-pack. However, consider this: The Epson website sells the 5 "high capacity" cartridges for 1.77 times the price of Amazon''s regular-capacity 5-pack. The ISO yield ratio for the high versus regular capacity cartridges is 850/500 = 1.71, very close to the above price ratio of 1.77. Thus, you pay about the same price per unit of ink either way, but if you go with the high-capacity cartridges, you will not have to replenish nearly as frequently. As prices change, this argument may not remain valid, of course.I was setting up my brothers new HP Premium Printer and the HP tech told me to make sure I match and use HP photo paper with the HP printer. He said that the HP ink this printer used is specially made to match HP photo paper. He said that if your HP printer prints on Epson paper it will look awful. That''s funny, I thought, since I had just Purchased an Epson Artisan 700 Printer recently and I was extremely disappointed in how bad the ink looked on the HP paper I was using. The Epson ink would not dry properly on the HP paper and was easily smeared. After talking to that HP Tech, I gave my brother all the HP paper I had and went out and purchased some Epson Photo paper. The difference was like night and day. ALL of the Pictures turned out just as good, if not better, than ANY photo lab I''ve ever used.
So stick with the Epson Photo Papers. By matching the ink to the paper it was designed for, not only will you get the best possible image, you''ll also be using the ink in the most cost efficient way. I''m probably averaging around (50) 8X10 photo sheets per ink cartridge. These arrived in 2 days, which is great. But they did not come in the standard Epson blue box. Instead, the 5 individually wrapped cartridges were simply put directly into the mailing envelope. Maybe no big deal, but the picture of the box is mis-leading; the picture of the 5 individually wrapped items is more accurate.

Great product.I love genuine parts. I have to be honest and say that I have used both genuine, and not genuine cartridges. (Well it wasn''t not genuine, it was the genuine but the guy who refilled the toner changed the chip in order for the refill to work). And then came the problems. In this particular case; when using the Konica Monilta PagePro 1350W, if you don''t use a genuine cartridge, the printer will always display a message before any print, which is really annoying since you have to click it to proceed. Also, the printing speed decreases dramatically, at a normal speed you can print like 5 or 6 pages when if not using genuine cartridge you print like 2 pages in the same time. In conclussion, if you own this printer, BUY genuine. You will regret if you don''t. They have managed to make your printing experience terrible if using a non genuine cartridge or a refilled one with different chip.

My last printer only had a single paper tray. I frequently had to manually insert legal sized paper into the multi purpose tray. What a nuisance! Now, when I want to print on legal, I just select "Legal" and out it comes. I love having this feature. Obviously, if you only print on one type of media, this option isn''t for you. But if you like to use a different paper color etcetera, this is a real frustration saver. Also, this tray is able to handle a full ream of paper so I use this tray for my standard 8-1/2 x 11 paper and I use the original tray for special media. This saves me having to reload the paper tray so frequently. Did I mention that I love this addition?Read Best Reviews of Brother LT100CL 500-Sheet Optional Lower Paper Tray Here
This is a must have addition to your Brother MFC. For such little $ this is a great investment and easy to set-up! It is a great product which allows you to have a second type of paper such as letter in this tray since it holds 500 sheets and the main tray can have legal paper in it which has 250 sheet capacity. This really broadens the printer capabilities. Amazon''s delivery was fantastic. I have no problems with them at all and will feel safe using them in the future. The Brother Optional Paper Tray is easy to set up and use.The advantage to having the tray is the convenience of not having to load paper into the Multi Function Machine as frequently.
The only thing I don''t like about the product is even though the Multi Function Machine recognizes the paper tray it does not provide an option to use the tray as the second choice after the MP tray.

No problems with these, and great price at amazon.I have gone through two Brother HL-1250 printers that use this cartridge and it''s a real work horse. I''ve printed as many as 900 or 1000 pages in one day and it just keeps humming along. I once tried to refill the toner myself and that was a disaster...black pages started coming out! And yes I did empty the old cartridge before refilling it. Now I just buy the toner cartages. Its nice to be able to print a big document without worrying about jams or spending a fortune...or having to load paper that often. I now use the pre-punched paper and my printing is easy and cheap! The cartridge gets about 5,000 to 6,000 pages and the drum unit gets about 25,000 pages... so cost per page not including paper is around 1.4 cents. Not too bad.Perfect for text and internet web pages ect. Pics come out good for a monochrome but nothing fantastic. Maybe its my HL-1250? Graphic artist or people doing high end work or high volume printing may want something better... but for my 900 to 1,800 pages per month needs... its perfect.

I bought this product because I liked the reviews and I like the price. The cards went through the printer fine, but I was disappointed by the quality of the finished product. I print cards using photos that my wife and I have taken. We have used Avery''s 1/2 fold matt finish stock in the past, but we were looking to save a little money and bought this card stock. We printed two cards, one on Printworks and one on Avery''s 1/2 fold matt finish paper, using the same program, same picture, and the same printer. The difference was very evident. The Printworks was flat, lacked the contrast, the vibrant color, and the color accuracy of the Avery card.
