Comments:

The Canon Pixma MP270 Inkjet printer is one of the best in its class. The quality of prints are superb and the cost of both the package and the ink cartridges are exceptional. I use it daily for college assignments, work projects, pictures and photocopies. I was tempted to buy the lower version (MP250) locally, but after reading the reviews online at Amazon (for the MP250) I decided to place the order for this model and I haven''t had reason to regret this decision yet. It cost me a bit more, but in the end the purchase was well worth both the cost and wait.

This is a great printer for the price. Nice colors in the pictures that I printed. I would highly recommend this.

pros: good printer, very good price (got mine at kmart in store for $36.00 new), installs easily, and did not need to align printer heads either, printed just fine upon start. prints blk/white very fast. comes with ink (color/black). only takes 2 cartridges 1 black, 1 color. (i find this to be good cuz it''s less costly in the long run to replace 2 cartridges instead of the usual 4 others take.)

cons: DID NOT COME W/ USB CABLE to connect it to pc. You will need this in order to finish installation. So before you cash out, pick up an a to b usb cable. Any universal one should work, so long as it fits a USB 1.1 port, cuz that''s what this pixma printer has, a usb 1.1. (i was looking for a universal, but store ran out, so i had to spend some $ on a belkin 2.0. More then what i need, but it''s compatible w/ the 1.1) Does not come w/ paper. Make sure you buy a ream. (It has 5 sheets of some very small glossy like stationery, maybe for photo''s, not sure. def very small though.)

First off, I''m a college student who uses this printer for school work, and few other things (resumes, coupons, few photos). This printer is a GREAT value; it prints awesome photos (and I highly recommend the Canon photo paper, a few sheets come included with the printer), it''s very RELIABLE, the scanner is good quality, and the ink is easy to find/buy. However, like most, this printer does eat up a lot of inksomething that is to be expected with an inkjet.

If you print a lot, I''d be the first to recommend looking into a laser printer, but if you don''t use your printer on a daily basis it''s really a great printer for the money.

For the price of this thing, it delivers what you would expect. My complaint is not with the quality of the prints, they are good for documents, although falls short of great for photographs. Although at this price point few would expect stellar photo prints.

But beware of Canon''s dishonesty. I bought my printer in Europe, and bought new ink through Amazon. The ink number matches the printer model, but still doesn''t work. Turns out that Canon has divided the world into regions (if this sounds like the movie industry, you know what the motivation is). My printer will not accept ink sold in the US, only ink sold in Europe. Obviously this allows Canon to sell ink at a much higher price in Europe and eliminate parallel imports. And yet, nowhere do they provide this information. Until after you buy the ink, discover it doesn''t work, and contact support. Great way to look after your customers Canon! Good thing there are HP, Epson, Samsung, Nikon, Xerox etc to cover ones future needs.
