InkOwl® - HUGE Refillable Cartridge Set for HP 940

InkOwl® - HUGE Refillable Cartridge Set for HP 940, 940XL + 4 Pouring Funnels + 250ml Black Pigment Ink + 3x120ml Color Pigment Ink
  • These massive cartridges can hold 5 times more ink than the originals so you don''t have to refill very often at all. The black holds 340ml, the colors 130ml, but there is no need to fill them up completely.
  • Includes 4 pouring funnels for added convenience: zero-mess and zero-hassle unlike traditional syringes. The unique design of these InkOwl®-brand cartridges makes it super-easy to install chips from your old cartridges by simply switching the end caps. No need to risk damaging your chips like other designs may force you to.
  • Includes a set of permanent chips. These chips are specifically designed for this type of cartridges. They will not display an ink level, but that is not a problem since the ink is plainly visible. With this approach, your printer will never harass you with ink low messages leaving you to be the decider of when to refill. This is better than cartridges with no chips, since those will cause ink low error messages to display falsely when the original chips reach zero.
  • Product contents: set of 4 elongated refillable HP 940/940XL cartridges, set of 4 HP 940 Permanent Chips, 1 bottle of 250ml Ink Owl® black ink for HP 940, 3 bottles of 120ml Ink Owl® color ink for HP 940, 4 pouring funnels, 4 dust filters, detailed instruction sheet covering the whole process from start to finish.
  • This kit contains 4 bottles of InkOwl''s pigment-based formulation for HP 940 printers. This USA-made ink is proven to reliably perform on all papers including glossy. The ink is perfectly color matched to the original and is designed with the same viscosity and surface tension to assure an adequate flow through your printheads. This is not a cheap Chinese ink! The best way to avoid clogging or other print quality issues is to use a pigment-based ink in your HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 or 8500 printer.

Ink Owl Huge Continuous Refill Kit for HP940 and HP940 XL cartridges. I like this kit and would buy it again if I needed to. I have use it for about a month or two. I have a video review on Youtube.

Update 3/6/13: Had a problem where my printer would no longer print black. Sent an e-mail to their technical support and got a quick reply and call. Was told that the manufacture change the design slightly and you now need to keep the cartridges more than half full or you can run into this problem. So don''t let your cartridges run low.

Their sending me out a kit to fix the problem, free of charge. Still very happy with this product and their support has been great.

I got tired of paying for expensive ink cartridges, so I started buying the refilled ones. The issue with the refilled ones is that you never know when you''re going to run out of ink. The advantage of the InkOwl is that you can literally "see" the amount of ink remaining so you never have to worry about running out.

The pro''s: Once installed, there is absolutely no difference between the printing as that of the "normal" HP cartridges. As I mentioned, you can see how much ink is left so you won''t run out. Also, even though the initial outlay is over $100, in the long run, this is a money saving move.

The con''s: The instructions are not that great, which caused me a little bit of a mess to get started. You have to mess with the chips that are provided in order to align them properly so that the printer will recognize them. Don''t get ink on any of the filters that are provided because they don''t provide any extra, and even though they only cost 5 cents a piece to order more, shipping is $3.95 for a nickel component that weighs less than 1 ounce!!! It was a little difficult to install these to begin with, but nothing a little patience can''t overcome.

Overall, after getting them installed and working, I''ve been very happy with them. I''ve even printed several photos and the quality is great. I would recommend using InkOwl to replace your usual cartridges, just plan on spending a little time getting them installed.

  • The ML-2525 offers the flexibility to meet all your daily print requirements
  • The Print Screen function is a quick and easy way to print the contents of your screen
  • It''s especially useful if you handle a high volume of web-based information
  • The ML-2525 features a sleek, streamlined design which adds a sophistication without taking up more than its fair share of room

Generally speaking, I like Samsung printers. They''re inexpensive, and in the past it''s been possible to find dirt-cheap aftermarket toner cartridges for them, so you could print for about a penny per page.

I still haven''t been able to find aftermarket cartridges for this printer though. All the usual suspects list it as "coming soon," but have since April. I guess Samsung has made the cartridges for this printer a lot harder to reverse-engineer.

I bought this printer in a hurry because I ran out of toner for my earlier model Samsung printer, and thought it would be a good idea to have an extra printer around anyway. I used it until the toner cartridge that came with it ran out, and when I was using it, I found it to be lightning fast, very quiet, and compact. I don''t remember the paper ever jamming, and my printouts were nice and clear and very readable. I can''t complain about the printer itself.

But I wish I had spent some time researching the availability of aftermarket cartridges. I might have been better off buying a different model of Samsung, or a competing brand like a Brother instead. For now, the printer is sitting unused until I can find an inexpensive replacement toner cartridge.

Add a ChecksNet CheckToner MICR cartridge and you have a fast little desktop printer to make magnetically encoded checks. The ML-2525 is faster, quiet and doesn''t jam paper like other Dell, Hp and prior model Samsungs I''ve had on my desk. paper tray holds 250 sheets which is almost double other under 4100 B&W laser printers.

printer was initially inexpensive to purchase, print quality is good, speed is good.

BUT, the replacement cartridge was expensive at $92 and it claimed to average 1500 sheets.

i was able to get only about 700 sheets out of it before it was empty just a few hundred more than the cartridge that came with the machine and less than half of the claimed average.

i''m not sure if this was a lemon of a replacement cartridge but samsung support was unwilling to replace it for me as the cartridge is considred a ''consumable''.

so far this machine is more expensive to operate than the old inkjet i was using priorat about 13 cents per sheet.

i''m considering returning this machine as it so far is not doing the job it was claimed it could do.

My frustration level with this printer and Samsung customer service is at blood vessel bursting levels so I will try to calm down as I write this review. First, I have had this printer for about 4 weeks before it has stopped working. I printed less than 30 pages. A fuser-error code appears and the pop up advice to shut it off to cool down does not work. I called customer service 4 times today. With each agent on the desk, I received different answers on how to proceed with a repair/refund. Some agents were simply moronic, some pleasant and helpful. An agent informed me that I could simply request a full refund and all the agents are aware of this. When this agent walked my call over to his supervisor to assist me with this refund, thinking this would be a nice gesture, she told me that they do not offer refunds. Another agent suggested I drive the printer to Long Beach CA for a repair since they will not send me an shipping label as there is a repair facility nearby. I live on the east coast. When I called the shop nearby I heard an earful about Samsung products and service and was advised to buy HP or Brother next time.

Five minutes ago another repair shop 22 miles away called my office to inquire how they could be of assistance with my broken camera. Thank you Samsung!

Easy to network. Good Laser quality. Good speed. Quieter than I thought.

It does draw a bit more power when starting up than I thought.

I was also surprised that it doesn''t handle envelopes well. It wrinkles the bottom edge whether I feed them from the tray or manually from the front.

Black and white printouts come out clean and consistent which is what I need for most of my printing. I love that I can run print jobs directly to this printer from any computer anywhere in the house. A $100 easy to use and setup network printer!

HP 74XL Ink Cartridge- Black
  • High-capacity HP 74XL Black Inkjet Print Cartridge for everyday printing
  • Produces laser-quality black text and graphics
  • Uses Vivera ink technology
  • Page yield: approx. 750 pages (depends on printer and specific use)
  • Compatible with select HP printers

With 18mL it should print out about 750 pages. I have no idea if the numbers I had quoted to me, though, are right. The problem is the little bar that appears whenever you print something hasn''t even gone down 25% and I''ve had this cartridge for almost two months. Its definitely a real wallet saver for me since I''m a student in college and the nearest store selling cartridges is as far away as the nearest cartridge world, which I personally love but haven''t gotten to see a lot of recently. Both would''ve required bus commutes, but the 74XL (which is noticeably sticks out farther than the regular 74 and weighs a whole lot more) has not failed me yet. For now I would encourage anyone lucky enough to have a printer that works with an 18mL cartridge like this to get one. And anyone in the market for a new printer should seriously consider checking to make sure there''s isn''t only compatible with a dinky 5mL one that will get you around 200 pages before going poof.

As I mentioned for the HP 75XL inkjet cartridge is the same for this one (black ink only) get the larger size AND HP brand inks for better quality and to allow for quantity printing. The smaller cartridges just don''t cut it in terms of the number of pages it can print before running out. And save by buying it through Amazon, unless you can find a local retailer with better savings I sure couldn''t and am glad I checked with Amazon right away.

It''s worth purchasing the XL version of the HP 74 print cartridge, rather than the standard size. It''s three times the size of the standard one, and doesn''t cost three times as much.

Also, you can often find package deals including the color (75) XL cartridge and the black XL cartridge for around $60. Buying individual regular size cartridges just isn''t a wise idea, considering they often cost around $30. (why buy two regulars for $60 when you can buy two XL''s for the same price?)

Just make sure to buy a NEW cartridge, not a remanufactured one. Choose a seller with a high rating and low prices. I purchased a package deal recently through ANTOnline, and was amazed with how fast it came (using only regular shipping).

I purposely paid a couple dollars extra to get a "retail packaged" cartridge in a box as shown in the photo for this item. I received a cartridge in plastic pouch with no box. It was mailed in a bubble wrap envelope. The cartridge works OK, and my printer recognized it as a genuine HP cartridge.

I have an HP Photosmart C4480 all-in-one printer. I''ve used it for years and have had absolutely no problem with ink cartridges until now. With this "HP" 74xl from Vivamart I managed to coax one page through, but it took a couple of false starts and several pauses. After that one page, the printer stopped recognizing the cartridge all together. I put back a REAL HP cartridge and it worked perfectly. I''m surprised HP allows their logo to be used in the picture on Amazon, and if they don''t allow it, I''m surprised Amazon is allowing it! If you want to try it, be prepared for the hassle of a return.

Apparently it''s not possible to give no stars, so I had to give one. The product doesn''t deserve it.

Update: In an effort to read other reviews on this item, I tried, but failed, to find one sold by Vivamart, the Amazon vendor from which I purchased mine. It appears you can order what looks like an HP product, but may actually be from any number of non-HP vendors. If this is true, the reviews could be from many different products, rendering them useless. I would like Amazon to explain this. I''m loath to order this type of item from Amazon now.

BTW: The cartridge itself is labeled "Remanufactured Inkjet Cartridge". It does not include "HP", but only "74xl". In case I wasn''t clear above, my intention was to buy a new HP cartridge, and the Amazon page gave no indication that it was anything otherwise.

HP 17BII Financial Calculator

HP 17BII Financial Calculator
  • Over 250 built-in functions
  • Algebraic notation
  • Reverse Polish notation
  • Business/finance features
  • 2-line, 22-character LCD

One of the best features of this calculator is that the calculations (i.e. present value/future value calculations and basic mortgage payment calculations)are menu driven using a series of buttons at the top of the calculator. You simply input the data per the associated input button. In addition, this calculator is a lot easier to use than the 12B which is the standard in the leasing industry. The 17B version allows you to input your data in a straight forward fashion rather than the "reverse" data input method of the 12C. HP also did a good job with the instructional booklet you receive with the calculator. The booklet gives you numerous sample problems and does a good job of highlighting the capabilities of the calculator in an easy to understand format without all the technical jargon. I wouldn''t be without this calculator.

Look no further. The classic HP workhorse is a legend for good reason. This is the best financial calculator available. It is durable, easy to use, and highly versatile. Many HP calc lovers prefer the 12C to this because of size. Fair enough, but if you don''t have the time or care to learn RPN then the 17BII is your ticket as it allows either RPN or algabraic entry.

The programmable solver is an awesome tool as it saves a ton of time for calcs outside of the 250 preprogrammed. Also, the feel of the push button keys are superior to other brands. There is no doubt an entry took place. Excellent battery life. Sure it is a little pricey compared to other financial calculators but you will never need another. This baby is built like a ''56 Buick and will probably outlast you. If you are searching for a financial calculator then you understand the importance of value over low cost. This is the one.

If you are a business student or finance professional, the HP 17BII is the financial calculator to purchase. It provides the necessary functionality (e.g. solves the appropriate kinds of time value of money & IRR problems, provides memory, etc.), but what I really find useful is "intuitive" data entry in solving these problems relative to the HP 12C (which I also own). For Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidates, it is also the "top-of-the-line" HP model since the more advanced versions are programmable, which is disallowed by the AIMR during testing.

I have used the HP17BII for about 6 years now. I also own a 19B. I really like the 17BII for all of its functionality. It got me thru undergrad (Wayne State U in Detroit) and grad school and became the recommended calculator at my school (Clark Atlanta U) for all grad and undergrad students. Unlike some of the lesser priced machines, the 17BII will still be functional when you are in the work force doing a complex Black-Scholes calculation. I really believe that it is the absolute best financial calculator out there followed by the 19B, 10B, 12C and then the BAII plus.

This is great value for money, and a great printer. I had a previous CMYK printer, great savings because you only change the print cartridge for the colr you have run out of instead of the whole color cratridge regardless of the other colors still being available.

This is the black cartrdige, and this is the larger size of the two. I have printed hundreds of pages and it has not made a dent in the bars showing on the menu.

Even the small cartridge printed well over a ream of paper,so I love my new printer and these cartridges, once I got the hang of getting them into the printhead without them wobbling all over the place.

An excellent product-shop around for great value and don''t forget to recycle them! (You can drop them off at staples and get rewards coupons back, up to 10 per month).

Safco Muv Four Level Adjustable Printer Stand Save 42% off

Safco Muv Four Level Adjustable Printer Stand, Medium OakThorough instructions made this printer stand very easy to assemble. Though the tubular steel uprights with punched holes do little to inspire sturdiness, the stand (provided the bolts through the uprights to the shelves are tight) proved sufficiently capable of holding three printers.

This unit holds printers etc. that were scattered over my desk in a crowded faschion that made it difficult to use them. Now each is on its own shelf with storage for paper just below. Since it is on wheels I can move it close to the keyboard if need be to eliminate getting up to load paper, retrieve a document or check on the quality of a document that is being printed out. I''ve saved paper by knowing that the magnification of

a text is wrong before all 10 copies are printed out.

Buy Safco Muv Four Level Adjustable Printer Stand Now

The whole stand shakes from side to side when printing from an inkjet printer. It seems that the force from the movement of the ink cartridge causes this. Unfortunately, if you own a flatbed multifunction printer, it would be inconvenient to put this kind of printer on any shelf but the top shelf. So far it has not any adverse effect on the prints from the inkjet printer, but we have been using it as a copier instead of a photo printer. We bought this shelf because it was the only one that seemed to match the other furniture in our home office and had enough shelves for our three printers. We have to leave one shelf out so that it could fit all three, which could cause the shaking. Given its intensity however, it would shake even if the fourth shelf was installed. The picture makes the stand deceptively tall, so make sure you measure the equipment you will be putting on it.

Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX Inkjet Printer

Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX Inkjet Printer
  • Up to 2,880 x 720 dpi resolution
  • Uses 6-color quick-drying inks for smudge-free results
  • Prints directly from digital camera memory cards
  • Standard USB interface; PC and Mac compatible
  • Supports a wide variety of media including roll paper

The 785EPX was very easy to set up, I followed the simple "poster fold out" instructions. I hooked the 785EPX up as a second printer for printing photos using a USB cable (you will need to purchase one). Took less than 15min to set up. I have not used photo software in the past so the included software seemed just fine. I was able to easily manipulate pictures, create greeting cards, calenders, etc. The price of the 785EPX is very competitive! Okay last but not least the print quality is excellent! It is very difficult to tell the difference between the 785EPX prints and photo shop prints....these may be even better! A couple of side notes: I did a great deal of research before buying, the 2 most common "cons" were: 1) printer drinks lots of ink, and 2) printer is noisey. Don''t let this deter you.....printer cartridges for the 785EPX are very reasonable, and as far as noise....it''s an inkjet printer.....it should make some noise!

FYI I Ordered the printer from Amazon Sunday evening, received it Wednesday morning, great service thanks Amazon.

Buy Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX Inkjet Printer Now

This is my second Epson printer. My last one, before purchasing the 785 EPX, was the Stylus 850. I had no problems with the print quality of that printer, but the printheads clogged on a regular basis. Just after the warranty expired, the printheads clogged for good, and the printer was rendered useless. I brought it in for repair at the computer store where I purchased it, and was told that the heads could not be unclogged. I decided to try once more myself, before throwing the 850 out, and low and behold, it worked perfectly! I used it for a few months afterwards, with no problems, then I moved, and put the printer into storage for several months. Of course, after not using the printer for a while, I experienced the same printhead clogging that I did in the past. I decided that it was time to buy a new printer. This burned me up. The thought of shelling out more money to replace a printer that went bad from NON USE! After extensive research, I chose the 785 EPX. I was amazed at how much ink it consumed, after only a couple of days of use. After I printed only 8 prints (8x10''s) the color cartridge was near empty. Epson puts a computer chip in their new cartridges, which makes them very costly (in my opinion). I did find after market cartridges for the EPX for (dollar amount) (...), but this is still way more than the (dollar amount) I paid for the 850 ink cartridges. One month after getting this printer, I went on vacation for 3 weeks. Now, the printheads in the EPX are clogged. I am livid! I performed 12 cleaning cycles with no luck. I do not like the fact that both the black and the color cartridges are cleaned together...no option to clean them separatly, using more ink than need be :( I called Epson, and the Tech person immediately offered to send me 2 free cartridges to help remedy the clogged printhead problem. I was happy about that, but still angry at the fact that I have to be a slave to this printer (all Epson printers?) for it to function. I don''t do a ton of printing, just occasionally. It''s my opinion, that this printer is not made for occasional use, however. I guess if you don''t mind starting the printer up every few days, to keep the ink flowing, all the power to you. Just hope that there is still ink left in the cartridge when you want to make a print, as just turning the printer on uses ink to prime the heads. What good is exceptional print quality, which this printer supposedly has, (I have not seen it yet) if you can''t get the printer to work? Good luck to all the Epson printer owners out there. I will look for another brand.

I recently purchased the Epson 785EPX following a positive review in "Outdoor Photography" magazine to replace my HP 952c. I''m a semi-professional photographer starting to do more work in digital, and like to use the ink jet copies as proofs to see how images will print. The quality of the images is very good. I haven''t had any problem with color matching, poor printing (vertical or horizontal lines) or jamming. If you really want photo quality you have to use photo paper. I mention this in case someone is just starting and is unsure about the difference. I''ve also done a fair amount of "regular" printing, and have been very happy. While photos print slowly (the HP was a bit faster, but the Epson''s quality is better), letters and pages from the web print very fast, and are quite clear and professional looking on regular ink jet paper.

The ability to make prints directly from the printer without using the computer is very cool. You can easily make an index print (thumbnails) of all the images on your card, or a selected folder. I did find these images to be a bit too small to be truly useful, but I''m sure there has to be a way to change the size (I hope!) It comes with a PCMCIA adapter for a Compact Flash card which plugs into the printer. If you use different media, Epson will trade you the CF card for what you need.

One minor problem with printing is that it uses ink at a much faster rate than my HP did. Plan on buying a replacement cartridge soon. Epson gives you the ability to order supplies through the printer software; clicking on the appropriate button takes you to Epson''s web site. A replacement cartidge from Epson is about ($$$).

The software that comes with the printer is excellent. There are, as always, some extra programs you may or may not find useful. The printer''s software controls are very clear, easy to access and provide many useful printing options, such as easily being able to change the type of paper being used (regular paper, matte photo, glossy photo, etc.)to maximize results.

I really have only one big complaint: This thing is noisy. All the ink jets I''ve ever used were whisper quiet. This is loud enough to interfere with conversation, and it makes noise for a while when first started, before printing and while printing.

In brief, if you''re willing to deal with the noise (I am, so far), this is an excellent machine for the price. Because it has features that I haven''t explored yet, I think that it has enough depth to please all but those who demand high end performance.

Want Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX Inkjet Printer Discount?

This is my third printer and my first Epson and I bought it based on the reviews on Amazon. My other two printers were HP''s and I still have my Deskjet 952C but I do considerable printing and I wanted the Epson for the increased flexibility the second printer brings. The Epson was very easy to set up but remember it only uses USB cable to connect to the PC. The printer is a little bulky compared to some of the newer printers on the market today so be sure and check your available space for the printer. Photo quality is very good and is better than the HP 952C with the colors deeper and prints photos with surprising speed. You can print from the PC or from a compact card from your digital camera. The printer comes with a PCMCIA adapter and Epson offers to exchange the adapter for a SmartMedia adapter or a Memory Stick adapter. Printing envelopes is a snap but you do have to take the paper out but I think it''s a minor inconvenience. You can print up to 52 borderless snapshots at a time on roll paper and the printer comes with a roll paper adapter. I''ve not had an opportunity to try out the roll paper yet but I think the concept of roll paper adds increased flexibility to the printer. Black and white document printing speed is acceptable and is about as fast as the HP 952C. The only downside to the printer is the noise the printer makes while loading paper and printing or, perhaps, I didn''t realize how quite the 952 is. At any rate, the noise was not such a problem that it caused me to deduct a star on the rating. I''ve not had the printer long enough to develop an opinion on ink usage. Inkjet cartridges for color and black ink are reasonably priced on the Epson website and are less expensive than HP products but I''m still unsure of overall ink usage. I''ve had no problems with the printer since sitting it up and feel it''s a very good all round printer and would recommend it for the home/office user.

I''ve been a happy Epson customer since 1997, and when it came time to look for a photo printer I really only wanted to look at the Epson line. I did research others, though, but I kept finding excuses to favor Epson over any other brand.

And I''m not disappointed. When matched with Epson papers (especially the Premium Glossy Photo Paper), the output is better than all but the most professionally produced studio prints. And I can do it myself.... easily.

The internal card reader is a nice feature if you want to print directly without waiting for the PC to boot up, but it also transfers the photos to the PC without the need to hook up your camera.

All in all, it''s worth every penny!

The Canon Pixma MP270 Inkjet printer is one of the best in its class. The quality of prints are superb and the cost of both the package and the ink cartridges are exceptional. I use it daily for college assignments, work projects, pictures and photocopies. I was tempted to buy the lower version (MP250) locally, but after reading the reviews online at Amazon (for the MP250) I decided to place the order for this model and I haven''t had reason to regret this decision yet. It cost me a bit more, but in the end the purchase was well worth both the cost and wait.

This is a great printer for the price. Nice colors in the pictures that I printed. I would highly recommend this.

pros: good printer, very good price (got mine at kmart in store for $36.00 new), installs easily, and did not need to align printer heads either, printed just fine upon start. prints blk/white very fast. comes with ink (color/black). only takes 2 cartridges 1 black, 1 color. (i find this to be good cuz it''s less costly in the long run to replace 2 cartridges instead of the usual 4 others take.)

cons: DID NOT COME W/ USB CABLE to connect it to pc. You will need this in order to finish installation. So before you cash out, pick up an a to b usb cable. Any universal one should work, so long as it fits a USB 1.1 port, cuz that''s what this pixma printer has, a usb 1.1. (i was looking for a universal, but store ran out, so i had to spend some $ on a belkin 2.0. More then what i need, but it''s compatible w/ the 1.1) Does not come w/ paper. Make sure you buy a ream. (It has 5 sheets of some very small glossy like stationery, maybe for photo''s, not sure. def very small though.)

First off, I''m a college student who uses this printer for school work, and few other things (resumes, coupons, few photos). This printer is a GREAT value; it prints awesome photos (and I highly recommend the Canon photo paper, a few sheets come included with the printer), it''s very RELIABLE, the scanner is good quality, and the ink is easy to find/buy. However, like most, this printer does eat up a lot of inksomething that is to be expected with an inkjet.

If you print a lot, I''d be the first to recommend looking into a laser printer, but if you don''t use your printer on a daily basis it''s really a great printer for the money.

For the price of this thing, it delivers what you would expect. My complaint is not with the quality of the prints, they are good for documents, although falls short of great for photographs. Although at this price point few would expect stellar photo prints.

But beware of Canon''s dishonesty. I bought my printer in Europe, and bought new ink through Amazon. The ink number matches the printer model, but still doesn''t work. Turns out that Canon has divided the world into regions (if this sounds like the movie industry, you know what the motivation is). My printer will not accept ink sold in the US, only ink sold in Europe. Obviously this allows Canon to sell ink at a much higher price in Europe and eliminate parallel imports. And yet, nowhere do they provide this information. Until after you buy the ink, discover it doesn''t work, and contact support. Great way to look after your customers Canon! Good thing there are HP, Epson, Samsung, Nikon, Xerox etc to cover ones future needs.

Update:

As of Jan 2012 this unit is still running properly, so it appears that it *can* be reliable, once you assemble it from reliable components.

Update:

Well... third time seems to be the charm, after swapping out two printer bodies and two duplex units this printer is FINALLY working properly, so I''m bumping it up to three stars.

Still, it took a lot of my time and effort to get things working; if you want to make the attempt I HIGHLY recommend purchase from direct form Dell so that service and support are available.

Original 1 Star Review:

In the 6 months I''ve owned this printer (purchased direct from Dell) I''ve been able to run 420 pages through it in duplex mode which is the only mode in which I have a use for it.

I''m now on my second printer body and second duplex unit you finally get one to work, then other quits, usually in the form of sensor errors that continue to report paper jams when paper path is clear.

You then have to remove and re-seat various components often 5-10 times before the printer "discovers" things are OK, then you run another 20-30 pages through it and it again reports a (non-existent) jam.

Least anyone wonder, I am *very* experienced with a wide variety of laser printer, have tried various types of paper, and spent several hours on the phone with Dell support based on my experience this printer''s design is just a dog if you attempt to run duplex mode.

I bought this printer 3 (THREE) days ago from AMAZON. Printer functions perfectly as it should but emits a high frequency/pitch noise. I called Dell regarding this issue and it turns out that any DELL products bought from any place except DELL have NO warranty. NONE. YES, ZERO warranty for a new product by DELL from Amazon. The technician was trying to tell me that I need to BUY a new diffuser on a brand new product and that by buying their product, there is still no guarantee that it would solve my problem.

Amazon should have a disclaimer on DELL products that says NO WARRANTY.

I own the printer w/ duplexor and have run 2100 pages thru the unit with about 1000 of those duplex. The printer warms up fast and prints fast even when duplexing.

The included drive works great over the network and has many cool feature such as the ability to print in booklet mode where the print driver re-organizes the print job so you can fold over an 8 1/2 x 11 page an make a booklet that is doublesided.

The color is great and the color supplies are low cost from Dell and even cheaper from aftermaket suppliers.

If you use an aftermarket cartridge you have to select tell the printer to use non-oem carts.

I have had 0 paper jams, 0 dupelxor jams or issues.

When printing I dont have the whine noise, but it is not a quite printer but this is really a business peinter and at the price is a much better printer.

Printer is now discontinued but while it was available it was a work-horse and very affordable print per page IF you did not use Dell-brand toner.

I bought this printer after reading many reviews and it seemed like a sound purchase, although I was duly warned by the reviewers who noted that Dell will not honor warranties when you purchase thru Amazon. I wish I had paid more attention. Here are my problems:

I have never gotten the colors to register and find the registration process difficult to understand and to access. There is a white line around my cyan based colors where they don''t register with the others, and no amount of adjustment in the tool box has helped it. I am a designer and high quality prints are of the utmost importance to me. The colors are no where near the colors shown on screen, and I have used it with 3 different computers to the same disappointing end. It is not a monitor issue, the previous printer I used (Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300) was very good indeed on delivering great color match.

The toner cartridges do run out fast but as noted by others, they are inexpensive and I have not noticed much difference between Dell and off-brand toners in the color quality (or lack thereof). If you just want bright color you will certainly get that, but accurate color is much harder, particularly when the colors required are neutrals. I realize this is an inexpensive printer but I am so profoundly disappointed I don''t know what to do.
