The whole stand shakes from side to side when printing from an inkjet printer. It seems that the force from the movement of the ink cartridge causes this. Unfortunately, if you own a flatbed multifunction printer, it would be inconvenient to put this kind of printer on any shelf but the top shelf. So far it has not any adverse effect on the prints from the inkjet printer, but we have been using it as a copier instead of a photo printer. We bought this shelf because it was the only one that seemed to match the other furniture in our home office and had enough shelves for our three printers. We have to leave one shelf out so that it could fit all three, which could cause the shaking. Given its intensity however, it would shake even if the fourth shelf was installed.
