Moab Entrada Rag Fine Art, 2-Side Natural Matte Inkjet Paper

I used this paper to print an architectural portfolio using a Canon 9900. Line drawings, graphics, and photos render beautifully on this paper. B&W photography look especially good. It lacks the cold blue tint of many 300gsm matts, and it has a natural luminescence that make prints pop out. My only complaint is its coarseness to the touch.

Simply put Moab paper is not manufactured consistently. The quality can vary wildly and the people that run the company won''t own up to that fact. If you get a good batch of paper the quality is excellent for the price point. However, I have printed on quite a bit of Kayenta and Entrada that exhibits many and varied surface defects. Coating that flakes off; faint surface abrasion that isn''t noticeable until you print an image with a lot of ink density (read skid marks in the shadows) and loads of dust in some rolls that can make a general mess of your printer and your prints (invariably the dust blocks ink making it to the surface of the paper and when if finally moves you are left with a white spot). Hahnemühle paper is more expensive but by the time you get done pitching all the screwed up prints you end up with when using Moab products I''d say the cost is the same (especially if you count your time and frustration). Having worked in a darkroom for years I expect my inkjet paper to be as reliable as my photo paper. Not so with Moab. For a budget proofing paper try the Illuminata available through Inkjet Art and the papers available through Red River. Both brands are head and shoulders above Moab with regard to quality control.

This is my paper of choice when printing matte. I have used it for several years and not experienced the "dust" problem reported by others. Of course, I always lightly brush it off before use. This is a top quality paper which I strongly recommend.

I use this paper (also the 13 x 19 size) with a Canon pro9000mk2 to reproduce paintings. It works beautifully for my purposes, and the color profile provided by Moab on their web site is spot on for me. The paper is heavy, ever so lightly textured, and completely matte. So far all Moab papers I''ve tried have been great. Only problem is that I have found a few flaws on some sheets, light vertical lines in the texture of the paper, and occasionally a small dark spot. If not for that, I''d give 5 stars! If you are new to using a cotton rag fine art paper, I recommend getting a drafting brush such as http://www.amazon.com/Alvin-2341-Dusting-Brush-14-5/dp/B000HF6K9S/ and lightly dusting each sheet before printing to get rid of any stray cotton fibers that could create a white spot on the print.
