This is a really great monitor stand. It''s built very sturdily no bowing whatsoever with my 27" monitor and several bowls of office supplies on top. The adjustable legs are great (I used all of them for maximum height). The drawer is very convenient for pens, notepads, and whatever random little items you have that would otherwise be cluttering up your desk. The design of this stand is superior to most other designs for the following reason:
1. adjustable height in addition to just being common sense, if your office chair changes, or you decide you prefer reclining more or less, you will need this feature.
2. sturdiness of plastic this is very important because any bowing will affect the height and angle your monitor ends up assuming over time
3. large enough to fit laptop underneath make sure to check the dimensions of your laptop before buying a stand make use of that vertical space.
4. access to laptop from all four sides for ease of access to ports, power cables, etc.
5. drawer if you have to add six inches of height, again, you want to make use of that vertical space, and a drawer is an excellent way to do that.
My only problem with this stand is that the drawer doesn''t slide out smoothly, but a little graphite powder should fix that.
Highly recommend!!!I used this stand for my Ham radio transceiver in order to have more room on my desk for papers, pens, books, etc. The drawer is very handy for storing supplies, microphone, and my headset. The adjustable height is a grea assest for too. It''s a sturdy with typical keyboard plastic look so it will not seem cheap in an office. I liked the drawer even when it takes a little extra effort to open than a regular desk drawer, it doesn''t have rollers it slides plastic against plastic. Measure your laptop if you want to store it under it, most small laptops will fit, but if you have to open it to turn it on every day... you are in for some problems. Other than that I think it''s a good value tool. I''m not using it anymore, I gave it away to another person in the office that takes her laptop home everyday and he''s really satisfied since she turns the laptop first and then stores it. For the end of the day, she just turns it off and unplugs the laptop.
If you want it as a stand for a desktop, I don''t see any negative side on this item. Adjustable legs are easy to place or take off without compromising stability onces it''s set to desired position. This is a sturdy stand for a monitor and seems to be well built, but it is NOT 6.5" tall as advertised, which doesn''t make me happy. This stand measures only 6" tall, so this amounts to misrepresentation. Someone needs to learn how to measure, seeing that it''s not a hard concept.
