Dell LP1700N Network Laser Printer

Dell LP1700N Network Laser Printer
  • Fast up to 25ppm print speed
  • Sharp 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution
  • 3,000 page yield toner cartridge included
  • Standard 250-sheet paper drawer
  • 15,000 page monthly duty cycle

This is a great printer. You can find many reviews about it all over the web. I just wanted to mention that the printer only comes with the standard 250 page tray and not with the optional 550 page tray. When I bought this I thought it came with the optional 550 page tray.

You have been warned.

Buy Dell LP1700N Network Laser Printer Now

I bought this printer from Amazon in August for $199. It was easy to set up on the network and prints very well. PC Magazine complained about the printing speed being a bit on the slow sidebut I do not agree. For a home office or a small business it works just fine. The toner cartridges and drums are MUCH less expensive than the comparable ones from Brother. My Brother printer before this worked just fine but after 20,000 pages I needed to buy a new drum...for $149 if I didn''t want an off-brand product! Instead I just bought the new Dell printer!

In regard to the previous reviewI TOO bought this under the impression that it came with the 800 sheet tray. I emailed Amazon twice afterwards and in true Amazon stylethey told me it was a misprint and simply changed the description/title. It must be nice to advertise one thing and then sell another. But it was still a great deal. I just don''t care for the way they handle customer complaints.

This printer is very slow to print, but once it is started it runs great. The size of this thing is rediculous; my HP 4L took up less space and reaction time was quick. However this printer can take a beating and keep on printing. I have dropped several time from over 3 ft and it is still running. Toner cartridges are a bit expensive and only last 3000 pages.

I''ve had this printer for about two years now and love it. This was my first laser printer and replace an inkjet I had hooked to a network print server. Is the printer loud ... sure ... I guess, but it''s fast and the noise doesn''t bother me at all.

Also, I don''t think I''ve ever really had a paper jam. Plus I love that setup is quick in both windows and linux (gentoo). No complaints here.

I bought this printer looking for a good price, but just one year later the printer was not working because of the mechanism to take the paper from the tray was broken, when I contact Dell they recomend me buy another one, because the guaranty have expired. I think this is a very fragile product.
