HP D1341 DeskJet Printer

HP D1341 DeskJet Printer
  • Ultra-compact with 80-sheet fold-up paper tray
  • Fast printing up to 16 ppm black and 12 ppm color
  • Print laser-quality black text and vibrant photos
  • Easy photo editing and auto red-eye removal
  • 4.5 lbs, (LxWxH): 16.6 x 12.43 x 5.6 inches

This printer did not cost much, but the quality of the prints it turns out are excellent! I don''t use it for high quality photos I have a die sublimation printer for that but it does a great job on things like lecture notes and general photography.

ive had this printer for about a year. It came free with a pc purchase, so i will be basing my review on that fact.

The negatives of this printer are that it is extremely noisy. Ive never heard of another printer this loud.

Its very cheaply made so you have no physical adjustments. hp claims that this has a ink level viewer, but even after updating to a different driver, i still have not been able to locate it.

The pluses are that the quality for b/w is great. setting the highest dpi on a grayscale image gives you a nice print. I have used it for printing stickers/decals.

The color print on the other hand isnt good. it drenches the paper with ink so you have color bleed and smudging... that obviously leads you to another issue with ink cartridge life. Ive printed perhaps 30 high quality b/w/color (roughly 20% cover on each page) and have already replaced the color cartridge three times and black twice.

The cartridges themselves are about normal price for any printer.

The speed on low quality images is slow... even worse on quality items. If you are looking for just a basic cheap printer, this will suit your needs. if you have a business or are looking to print high demand high quality pages, this isnt for you.

I have had this printer for a while and can count on one hand the times it actually works. You turn it on and makes a dramatic scene banging and whirring and clicking for about 10 seconds. You would think with all this noise it could actually print. No. If its not sucking up multiple pieces of paper at once and printing across all of them then its just getting jammed and wrinkling the paper. Most of the time it just doesn''t print. I click print and the progress says it''s printing pages 3 out of 1. Wonderful. No fixes seem to be available for it. Updated drivers don''t seem to fix it either. The dimwits at HP apparently think their crummy drivers aren''t the issue but the users. The very few times it actually bothered to do its job it printed decent quality though.

The product itself works well.

Installation, however, was a major challenge that, ultimately, involved a total of three hours of phone calls with HP technical assistance. It seems the installation CD was unable to locate and install the applicable "INF" files. This had to be done manually by the HP technician.

I would advise you to buy from another Amazon related provider.

Ordered the Hp 96/97 Combo set cartridges (remanufactured, by LD). Works as new products. My 3 year old black hp 96 was dying on me so the price was too good to pass up. 5 cartrdiges plus photo paper for less than the price of ONE cartridge at retail? No brainer here. Not even a wholesale club can beat that! It turns out my tri color is still working. I''m an advanced user, so I can refill my cartridges as necessary. I''ve gotten about 12-20 refills before the either the sponge or the print head/ribbon begins to mess up print quality. My expectation is that these cartridges will last me 2-3 years on the volume that I print. Two minor issues-not worth mentioning.. manufacture dates on the cartridges recieved varied by almost 1 year and one of the color cartridge boxes was crushed inside the package, but as I said all works ok (sofar). Reseller: 4inkjets! My research shows they are at or near the top of cartridge resellers.

These recycled HP cartridges seem to print ok, but no where in the item description was it apparent that they will show up as "empty" when you put them in there''s a little slip of paper when you open the box saying the electronics in the cartridge can''t be reset because it would violate a copyright. I think that should have been made apparent before I made the purchase.

I have also purchased recycled Canon cartridges from this vendor and have not experienced any problems there.

Print quality is at least good, or even very good. I printed several pictures on photo paper and there was no readily observable problem. I did not do a side-by-side comparison with OEM cartridge output, so it is possible there may be some subtle tint difference or shortcoming in shadow detail, but certainly nothing that would be a problem for casual use.

I have always bought brand new cartridges when purchasing for my ink jets and have never had a problem. I can tell you that I threw away the first color cartridge I bought. It printed a regular color page very faint and a photograph even worse! Guess you get what you pay for. My second color is working pretty well but I think I will stick to brand new from now on. Fooled me once!

Brother Home and Office Labeler (PTD200) Save 50% off

Brother Home and Office Labeler
  • One-touch keys - quickly access fonts, symbols, frames and patterns
  • Graphical Display - see how your label will look!
  • 8 professional fonts for label variety
  • Uses Laminated, "TZe" Tapes up to 12mm wide - great for indoor or outdoor use
  • Easy-access memory, store up to 30 "Favorite" labels

I bought this item to help me reorganize my home filing cabinet and other documents. Having a printed-out label instead of a hand-written one helps a lot more than I thought it would. It''s great to be able to print them as I need them, instead of waiting until I have enough to do a batch job through my computer printer.

I chose this labeler instead of others because of the price and ease of use, and I''m happy with my purchase. Even though I only use one style, this labeler has a variety of fonts and styles in case I ever need them. There are also a bunch of pictograms and borders that can be used to decorate the labels.

It doesn''t take up much room in a drawer and its desk footprint is pretty small. It''s a bit too bulky to carry around on the job, so consider your needs before buying.

The only downsides I''ve come across are that it uses 6 AAA batteries, which can get expensive. There is an AC adapter available for it, although I think any 9V AC adapter from an electronics store should do the trick please correct me if I''m wrong on this.

Second, when printing labels, there seems to be a lot of extra room in the margins, which is wasteful considering how expensive the tapes can be. I''ve looked at a lot of labelers and they all seem to have this issue. The workaround I use is to set the margins as small as possible, then set it to "Chain Print" and do as many at the same time as I can.

I bought mine from an office supply store, and I see that it''s a bit cheaper to buy it through Amazon. The refill tapes are also a lot cheaper through Amazon. I''m thinking of buying a second one of these for my office.

It is a nice unit but Brother is definitely schemed to make money off you in the long run. The labeler produce 1" margin minimum for everytime you print a label. This 1" is in addition to the so call "narrow" margin with your text. I call Brother and they indicate this was part of the design and mistated this description by using narrow margin. The 1" extra margin cannot be eliminated! If you print 12 labels, say bye bye to 12" of your blank label. If you have extra cash then buy more labels from brother. Even with my extra cash, I will not be wasteful. Boycott Brother labels maker and buy other brand instead like DYMO. I am returning my unit.

I purchased this to help label the cables and switches on my entertainment center. I had a few assorted 9-12 volt AC adapters that seemed compatible and thought I would try them with this unit instead of using batteries. The unit would not turn on with any of them, I am not sure if they just didn''t have a good connection or if they were no longer working. So, I purchased the 6 AAA batteries needed and set to work. The labels came out sharp and looked very nice. The font and styles are very easy to set and the unit functions quite well. I am very happy with the purchase and look forward to using it again.

While the printer works fine and is priced right the overuse of tape is inexcusable. Basically it leaves a huge space before the printing and a huge space after this has 3 effects

1) more than doubles to triples your tape usage which costs more $$$ to use (also lines Mr Brother''s pockets)

2) means that you have to go back afterwards with scissors and cut the label so that it is not ridiculously large this is a big waste of time and means that if you are walking around making labels (as I do) you must carry scissors

3) If you believe that we live in a world of scarce resources, isn''t this just plain wasteful?

I hope the people at Brother read this review.

Apparently, they think they have a smart system to sell more tape/ink by leaving a one inch space on both ends of each label. This creates a giant 2 inches of extra space on each label you print. You cannot change the margin to less than 1 inch.

Not only do you have to buy more labels over time, but it makes the label making process time consuming and cumbersome. You have to manually trim each label to get it to fit on a standard file folder or to suit other purposes. When you''re in the middle of a project, you''ll often need to make a lot of labels. This aspect defeats the purpose of getting a label maker to help you make labels efficiently.

The reality is that this wasteful business strategy is probably not profitable for Brother because I took the thing back to the store and got my money back. Now I won''t be buying ANY labels from Brother in the future. There are several other reviewers on this site that did the same.

Plus, these negative reviews are not helping Brother sell label makers to new customers.

I bought a Dymo LabelManager 280 instead and found the margin to be more reasonable.

The other thing that this label maker needs is an included AC adapter. The one they sell costs $20 which almost doubles the label maker''s cost. You''ll want an AC adapter because putting, "get batteries" on your task list every time you want to use the label maker for a project is also counter-productive. For me, I bought a label maker to increase productivity, not add more hassles.

If Brother would correct these two easy things, this would be a nice label maker.

Brother MFC-J270w Wireless All-In-One Printer

Brother MFC-J270w Wireless All-In-One Printer
  • Prints up to 33 ppm* in black, up to 27 ppm* in color. As well as up to 27 ppm* for photo paper to produce quality documents quickly.
  • Copies up to 22 cpm* in black, up to 20 cpm* in color. Copy resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. Flatbed scanner with 36-bit color.

I found this printer on Slick Deals for 50% off retail, so I got it ridiculously cheap. However, for the price, this is a really solid all-in-one printer. Most recently used the fax feature, and it works to perfection, as easy as pie.

I use the printer in my office, so I''m not printing pictures and all of that, but it prints pages from the internet great, as well as the leads that are sent to me. It scans and copies wonderfully as well.

I found a great source for printer ink here on Amazon, that sells for under 5 bucks a piece. Amazing! Look around, you''ll find it. If you go to Staples or a retail store, you''ll be paying $25 a piece, which is tomfoolery. Amazon is king, as always.

I''m satisfied with my purchase (so far, LOL).

As other reviews have mentioned, the printer does not work unless there is ink in every cartridge. If one of them runs out, the entire printer/scanner/fax machine becomes a useless paperweight. Brother even mentions on their website in the FAQ section that the printer uses color ink while it cleans itself, which is why the printer runs out of color ink even when all you do is print in greyscale. This is obviously a way for them to make more money. I would NEVER buy this printer again, nor would i recommend anyone else make the purchase. The ink is NOT cheap when you have to buy all four($55) just to get the thing to work again. Brother is trying to get all the money they can from you...STAY AWAY!

I got this from Best Buy for under $50. What a score!

This printer was a snap to add to our network, and is intuitive and easy to use.

I had a Dell AIO printer that cost $300 that was always getting paper jams and having problems. This printer has worked perfectly with mild use.

I like that''s it''s really compact, too. It fits well into our cabinets in the computer room.

Unlike some other printers, the ink for this one is well priced. Some brands really jack up the price of ink.

EDITING THIS REVIEW AS OF 9/12/2012

This printer stinks in every way possible. My review was based on a very short usage time. Now that we''ve had this printer a while the biggest issues are that it goes to sleep automatically after a while, which means, when you go to print over the network, it doesn''t wake up and print. Pressing the power button does nothing. Also, turning it off and back on doesn''t reconnect it to the network. Usually we have to completely unplug it for 30 seconds and then plug it back in to get it to connect. What''s the point of being wireless if you have to stand over it and dink around with it?

Second big problem is the ink. It self cleans all the time. I''ve printed about 4 pages in color and the yellow and magenta cartridges are now out of ink. The printer refuses to print in black and white because the color cartridges are empty. What a ripoff! ZERO STARS!

Want Brother MFC-J270w Wireless All-In-One Printer Discount?

This printer was very easy to install, but I have been having some difficulty getting the wireless printer connection to work. And the printer did not come with a printer-computer cable, so I have to pick one up. But the printer, copier, and scanner are great! Do not know about the fax.

I received this printer as a gift, and it quickly became one of the most frustrating devices I''ve ever owned. The printer cleans itself extremely loudly and quite frequently at the most inopportune times. The printer lacks USB, meaning that if you have problems with the wireless, which you surely will, you have no other option.

The construction of the chassis is quite weak and shoddy. The printer has trouble detecting paper, and when it does detect the paper, it frequently grabs several pieces at once, spewing out several blank pages as it tried to print one. It frequently stops detecting ink cartridges, requiring you to put them back in.

The ink cartridges are not particularly expensive, as far as ink cartridges go, but they run out extremely fast and have a curious construction which makes them prone to breaking and leaking. Additionally, the construction of the cartridges makes them extremely difficult to refill using an ink refill kit, according to most.

The scanning functionality works fairly well, but the software required to scan is terrible, not giving you options such as changing the directory that files will be saved in, as well as having very few file type options for scanning (no PDF). I never used the fax functionality.

Perhaps worst of all, the wireless functionality is a nightmare. The setup disk wizard fails to detect the printer, as does windows, forcing you to directly connect using the IP address. However, functionality is soptty after this, requiring you to constantly reconnect the printer. I encountered this problem over several wireless networks, leading me to believe that the problem did indeed lie with the printer and not my network.

Admittedly, the printer did function adequately, or slightly less than adequately, for several months, but after trying for weeks to get it to work on a new network, the stress and headache became too much for me, and I ended my abusive relationship with this printer. I implore you not to waste your money and your energies on this poorly designed machine. I know Brother is a reputable brand, but this offering falls very short.

Amazon has a "great" price on this when compared to other stores. That isn''t the issue. The issue is that the HP printers do not actually detect the level of ink in the 88 series of cartridges. They incrementally decrement their "estimated" volume based on use and TIME. So if you don''t print anything the volume will still go down. Also these have an expiration date, once the printer detects they are out of date, you guessed it, the printer won''t print even if they are full of ink. A typical refill of all 4 cartridges is one hundred to two hundred bucks. If you try to use a cartridge again by refilling the printer will remember the serial number and that it was "empty" and not allow it to work back in the printer. I''ve had great luck with HP printers for 20 years but my last one is a dog on the ink and there is no way that you are getting out without big bucks to HP. It''s cheaper to buy a new Canon printer of similar capability than to replace all 4 ink carts in the 88 ink series HP printers. So scrap these ink carts and just go buy a Canon MX series for about the same price as replacement ink.

I bought this A4 paper for job applications in Europe. In general, I am satisfied with the quality of the paper. It is quite heavy and wont bleed through. However, on closer inspection, it has a different color on one side than the other. One side of the paper is bright white and the other is kind of grungy yellowish.

I will not buy this again due to the fact that you need to pay close attention which side you print on and hope that nobody flips the page around and looks at the ugly yellow color of the page.

Also, it is VERY pricey. I agree, there are better options out there.

We got the laser printer and now our labels look great and professional. I''ve had no problems. I have printed labels, party invitations, pictures, etc. on label paper, cardstock and regular paper. Everything looks great and professional. Very easy to use printer. Also, I am still using the original toner cartridges that came with it. I just ordered a new black cartridge but I probably won''t have to replace it for another week or two. The color cartridges are still at 50% so they will last a while longer. I''m very happy with this printer.

PROS: low price, prints sharp and clean, quiet printing.

CONS: won''t handle all paper stock. Warm-up time is 1-2 minutes.

I bought this printer to replace my 14 year old Hp LJ 4MP. I assumed the CP1215 would be capable of doing the same things my old one did and more in color.

My immediate need was to print out baby shower invites. The card stock was within the limits of HP''s recommendations, no thicker than a 4x6 card. The printer would print 1 invite, then error out with "misprint". After 20 minutes of making sure I removed all the tabs and protectors that HP ships with and making sure this model supported 4x6 card stock, I found a way to get the rest of my stock printed. I had to press the resume button, causing it to reinitialize the warm-up sequence and then print. Took 30 minutes to do 30 invites.

This printer seems fine to print every day stuff. But if you print specialty paper, size and type, be aware it might not handle the paper well.

Wow, Amazon is selling this at a great low price and I am very happy with what I got. This printer is my first laser and color to boot and is very impressive in terms of the quality of graphics and text output. The printer comes with enough ink to print out 750 pages at normal mode printing. Then the cartridges are spendy but will have enough ink for 1400 pages for full cartridges (2200 pages for the black cartridge). There are 4 cartridges required for the printer, each costs around $65 each.

I think this will be far cheaper than ink printers when taking a long term view. One neat feature is the printer software is well designed and shows you exactly how many pages each cartridge has left remaining before the ink is depleted.

Very quiet when printing and the quality is great, however the printer itself is quite hefty and surprised me at how big a footprint it turned out to have. Make sure you have a big space for this printer. Also, the printer occasionally makes a noise like it is resetting or something, not unpleasant or anything but keep in mind its not totally silent all the time when not working.

I bought this model 3 weeks ago and have been forced to give up on it. It paper jams at a 60% plus rate, and nothing I''ve tried has been able to resolve the problem. Different paper; same result. Calibrations; No difference. Adjust paper slides; No go. I will say that when it does print without jamming the quality is beautiful. Unfortunately, the jamming occurs so often as to render it non-functional. I don''t know whether mine was a lone lemon, or whether the problem extends to the entire model range. Regardless, I''m disappointed.

well , this product has a great price and delivery was fast .

i knew that it was refurbished or remanufactured but my printer is 5 years old and i decided to take a chance .

first when they arrived i found that both had the wrong color guard on the cartridge .

the black ink cartridge had a blue guard and the color ink cartridge had a black guard .

this made every thing confusing because DELL uses the color blue to let you know that this is the color cartridge .

i ran the dell print test and all the color grids passed and all the color was dry with no leaks or smears .

so far my only complaint is the LOW INK ALERT , my DELL printer has not recognized these remanufactured cartridges .

every time i check my ink level it still shows LOW ink from the old cartridges .

cheaper then here, but this product is well worth the money!
