Ilford Galerie Prestige Smooth Pearl 8.5x11" 310gsm 100 Sheet Pack

Ilford Galerie Prestige Smooth Pearl 8.5x11'' 310gsm 100 Sheet Pack
  • Professional pearl finish
  • Instant dry nanoporous surface
  • Superb photographic image quality and consistency
  • Heavyweight look and feel of a traditional photograph
  • Excellent compatibility with all good quality pigment and dye based inkjet printers

I have been using a HP B9180 Pro printer with good success for the level of printing I do. I recently switched from HP papers to Ilford''s Galerie Prestige Smooth Pearl because I just wasn''t all that satisfied with the quality of the photos I had been getting. The difference and/or improvements have been dramatic there''s no comparison between the two papers in terms of color and quality of the paper itself. I won''t use another paper again.

I''m printing this paper on an Epson Stylus 3880 with Photoshop CS5 and 6 under Mac OS 10.6.8. I''ve been alternating between Ilford Pearl and Epson Luster as my standard inkjet photo papers. Both have a very similar look, but the updated Pearl with the thicker base is becoming my favorite. I also dislike Luster''s plastic backing, which is almost impossible to write on, and the cheap packaging the paper comes in. I''ve made prints on this new Pearl paper using both the Ilford and Epson Luster profiles and can''t see any difference between them. Both produce excellent results. I find the Pearl surface much more elegant than glossy for both color and black & white photos, though my best B&W prints are made on Harman Gloss Baryta.

The trays I ordered were brand new units in HP packing and arrived very quickly. Both worked great right out of the box. We needed replacements for the two that no longer pulled paper through them. The printer they were purchased for is 6 years old, and averages 20,000 pagers per month using heavier cardstock paper (in a billing department). The last pair lasted this long, I bet I can go another 6 years now...

HP Photosmart Plus Wireless e-All-in-One Printer
  • This Printer comes with Power cord, Reusable tote, Accessory bag, HP 564 black cartridge (approx. 250 pages), HP 564 cyan, magenta, yellow cartridge (approx. 300 pages each), CD with software and Reference guide.
  • Now AirPrintcompatible. Simply print from iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
  • Use the auto-engaging photo tray to easily print lab-quality, smudge-resistant photos that last.
  • Get fun and useful templates for calendars, games and more, using HP Quick Forms.
  • Print and share from multiple PCs in your home, using integrated wireless.
  • Reduce waste by choosing an all-in-one that is shipped in an innovative, reusable tote bag.

The printer was packaged in a light weight tote bag in the box, so I could just easily pull out the printer. In the box, there was a complementary 4x6 glossy photo paper (100pack) with a set of ink. A power cable and a brick came in a reusable cloth pouch, and I thought that was very nice idea since it''s less trash and easily recyclable.

Setting up the printer couldn''t be easier, even with wifi set up. I took about 15-20 minutes to set up everything: wifi, hp software, and the first time printer warm up. I also did not need to connect any USB cable to set up; instead, I was able to connect to my wifi network without any hassle. This printer alone acts like a computer, and it included a step by step set up assistant on the main screen, which was great. The instructions might show only WEP for security option, but I was able to connect to WPA2 with no problem, even in the closed network (airport extreme.) And since this printer has wifi connectivity, I didn''t need any extra equipment to buy, and I figured that''s why the printer didn''t come with a USB cable.

Printing was also as easy as pie. I was satisfied with the sharp and fast printing result in both b/w and color documents. What was more satisfying is photo printing. I tried professionally prepared images on this printer (4x6 photo glossy, in photoshop with proper setting) and the result was better than my expensive Epson photo printer. I was surprised how accurate the color was, although de-saturated black and white photo print showed a bit of green cast.

Scanning and copying also do their job very well. I was able to scan easily with or without HP software on Mac. Copying is another simple and cool feature. I didn''t even need my computer on. All I needed to do was press one button. If you need to change setting on any features, you can do that as well with no effort on its easy UI screen.

Apps! I never knew printers had apps. Yes, why not? As I mentioned, this printer acts like a computer, and it''s connected to the Internet. Applications included: Yahoo and MSNBC, PBS Kids (great for coloring sheets!!!), Sudoku, Disney, USA Today, Quick Forms, Dreamworks, recipes, Nickelodeon, weather, and coupons. It''s just amazing what printers can do now. My three old son saw me printing a coloring page from PBS Kids app, and now he can just do that by himself, similarly as if he was navigating an Iphone. (Actually the screen looks like a big Iphone.) Also, I can manage these apps from the HP website that my printer is connected to (registration required.)

Snapfish is another nice feature about this printer. There is a SD/MMC card slot that this printer can read photo files for printing and uploading/sharing to snapfish. With this HP photo smart printer, I really don''t need a computer to print photos and share online with friends and family. I only wish this printer had a USB slot instead of a SD/MMC card only slot. I know SD/MMC cards are kind of standard these days, yet there are also people with CF cards and other types.

The most advanced feature this printer can offer, I think, is the ePrint. This printer has its own email address, so just by sending an email to the printer, it will print out documents and photos. This is really useful if you have a smart phone and don''t want to buy a printing app which usually isn''t cheap. When I emailed a word file for testing, it printed immediately. Also, attached a jpg photo file to the email printed the attached photograph on the photo paper pulled from tray. The printer automatically decided where to print (between regular paper and photo paper) depending on the file type I sent to the email, which I can also manage in the setting.

Finally, if you have an iphone, you will love this feature. There is a photo printing app (HP iPrint) from HP in the app store for free. I was able to print photos from my iphone instantly(under same wifi network). I was so happy with this that I printed more than 50 photos, and the results were just wonderful. One thing I noticed was the photos were slightly lighter than what I see on my Iphone screen.

There are a couple of things I''d like to mention. This printer has a speaker somewhere so it makes button sounds. Since the buttons on the touch screen are pressure sensitive (I might be wrong), it''s neat to hear that button sound when I press something. I didn''t have to wonder whether the button was really pressed when touched. And this printer falls asleep after idle time; the illuminated power button will then start breathing (Mac computers do this during sleep mode. However, when the printer receives email or jobs, it wakes up instantly and starts printing. This may not be very important, but I could tell that HP paid attention to details when they made this printer.

Overall, this printer is most definitely worth the purchase. I have not stopped fiddling with this printer since I received it. I guarantee consumers will be happy with HP (finally!).

UPDATE

HP just updated their iPrint iphone app as universal binary some days ago, so it works beautiful on my iPad as well. Great for printing my kid''s iPad art work !!!!!

This is a fairly decent printer for the money, except that "for the money" goes a little further than the advertised price. I mean that after I had printed only around twenty pages in black and white, the computer told me it was running low on ink. Yes, like most inkjet printers, this comes equipped with seemingly trial ink cartridges. I cannot say that I like this, which is why I prefer laser to ink (for various reasons, not just because of the cartridges), but it is there none the less. This does have to be pointed out at the first of this review because the box might as well say: "ink cartridges required". With the latter concerned, this printer takes three different cartridges equaling the total sum of around fifty dollars. If you are going to purchase this be sure to add that extra $50 to the price so that it is more accurate.

As far as overall ability of this printer, it gets graded:

5 stars on user friendliness,

5 stars on looks,

3.5 stars on printing ability,

And 5 stars on function.

To setup and use this printer could not be any easier. When you first power on the printer, the on screen guide will instruct you exactly how to set it up with your computer and wireless connection. The screen itself uses a touch screen instead of buttons (there are no buttons anywhere); and where many products are plagued with faulty touch screens, this one out shines them all with a perfectly fluid, and sensitive touch mechanism. The latter is one reason alone to purchase this printer. The outlay of the screen is along the lines of a folder within your computer, with the interface of a web browser this being very comfortable to use for the majority.

With the wireless connection, you can stash this printer anywhere in the house as long as it is near a wall outlet for power, and in the vicinity of your wireless internet, should you have one. ***In order to use the wireless function you will need a wireless router.*** Setting up the wireless connection is as easy as waiting for the printer to find your connection, and typing in your security code, if you have one enabled. Total setup time for the printer is around 15 minutes. This includes, installing software on the computer, calibrating ink cartridges, setting up wireless connection, and printing test pages.

The look of the printer could not be any more simple. It is black and shiny, though the top portion of the printer (where you will be lifting a lot for copies and scans) is lined with rough edges so there will be less fingerprints. Overall a printer that does not draw attention to itself as a piece of computer equipment, but will merge very well with a household full of modern devices.

Printing on this machine can be a fast task, should you leave all the settings as they are. For example, when I was printing out resumes I adjusted the settings very slighty (changed printing on regular paper to premium), and the printing time for one page slowed down to around 30 seconds. Also, when printing on photo paper, the printer will retrieve the paper from a little 4" x 6" slot, but when printing out random images, could not get the photos to completely fill that area. Routinely I would print very big photos from my computer only to have them turn out like a 1" x 2" thumbnail (and yes, I adjusted the settings many times). Moreover, the quality of the photos were not very good, usually being kind of grainy. Scanning and copying are very simple on this machine, however in order to scan something you will need to first go to your computer and open up the HP PhotoScan software that came with the printer. When adjusting scanning details past 600dpi, the scan time can be sort of slow (average 30 seconds to a minute, depending on size). Overall, the ability of the printer is a little mediocre.

As stated before briefly, this printer is fun and easy to use. By fun, I mean that you can print many different things from this printer from their "app" menu, as well as download more directly from the printer through HP''s own store (which is free). For instance, you can print notebook paper, a maze (easy, medium, difficult), suduko puzzles, even pages of newspaper all from the touch of your finger, and from the printer''s wireless connection. Moreover, you can print calendars and pictures from your phone directly on the printer.

I am not imploring you to buy it nor am I deploring you from doing so; however if it is the ease of use with the many extra utilities that you want, this is it. In the end, this is an average printer with a deceptive price-tag.

HP Photosmart Plus B210 e-All-in-One Printer (CN216A#B1H)

I got this printer to replace another older HP printer that I had damaged during a move. So far, I am still impressed with HP for both computers and printers.

I love the packaging with the new HP printers; the all-in-one was in a carry bag to aid in making removal easier. Another great feature is that HP included a whole pack of 4x6 advanced photo paper.

I added the ink cartridges, plugged it in and started the software. I had no problem connecting to my router (I am using WPA security instead of WEP for the router). You can also print and scan directly from the printer and not use the computer at all.

The picture quality is outstanding, bright, clear and sharp colors all in no time at all.

My other two printers had five ink cartridges and I wasn''t sure how this printer would compare with only four ink cartridges. But I am really glad to see that the quality is impressive. When doing a side by side comparison of the same photos the B210 HP printer (4 cartridges) and the HP Photosmart Premium C410a (5 ink cartridges) the photos are slightly lighter.

From an operation standpoint, the touch screen is nice and easy to use. The scanner operates easily. You can scan from the printer or computer and save or directly print. We scanned a lego "heart" my son made and then printed it and it looks just like the lego creation. The quality of the photo was really good.

The photo software included has many options and backgrounds and is very simple to use. There are landscape photo book pages, square photo book pages, prints, collage prints, photo cards, quarter fold greeting cards, single page calendars and photo cubes. There are themes such as birthday, love, travel, etc. Designs under each theme allow you to choose the perfect background for your photos. You can also add text and touch up the photo fixing red eye, brightness and cropping of your photo.

I scanned documents and they came out fine. I would recommend gray scale for lighter or not solid black and white (like a picture drawn in pencil). For solid black, choose black and white when printing a scanned document.

I printed out some worksheets and the quality for those are fine and clear.

After printing 27 4x6 photos, 3 8x10 photos and over 85 worksheets (black and white), the ink levels are more than half full. The black ink is more than ¾ full.

Just an FYI, if you are shutting down your computer and printer for awhile make sure when you go to turn both on that you turn on the printer first. This has to do with the correct IP address being recognized for wireless printing. Also, if you are alternating printing both photos and regular documents make sure you check properties so that you have the correct tray chosen (photo or main tray) and check the correct paper and size.

Overall, I love this printer and I am very impressed with the photo quality and ease of use.

Arrival:

When the printer arrived along with two others, I have to admit that I was worried. The shipping box was pretty well battered, on corner and side totally crushed. Nothing rattled around inside, but still, it wasn''t pretty. Thankfully, after a full inspection, I found nothing had gotten to the HP box inside, only the Amazon box has been damaged.

Inside the box along with the printer was a full compliment of printer ink cartridges, a zip up bag with cables, and even a carry all bag for the printer itself. The bad seems to be the thing for the new HP printers. I''m not sure how many folks would carry around a printer this size, but, it''s a decent enough bag.

Setup:

Setup took about 30min, most of which was spent unboxing, taking off the protective tape, and waiting on Vista to load up the drivers and software. Pretty much, just plug it in and follow the onscreen instructions. That was all there was to it, which is a plus for the non-tech types. It found our home network quickly, and the onscreen instructions and demo movies for setup were spot on, and repeatable across Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

Usage:

For this review, I''ll be comparing against HP''s similar models, the C410a and CQ140A#B1H. I feel this is a fair assessment of HP''s current top to bottom all-in-one wireless printer lineup. As of the time of the CN216A#B1H runs $90, the C410A $160, and the CQ140A#B1H $345.

Each of these units has the ePrint function, which lets you print from pretty much anywhere. You can use HP''s phone app or email the printer directly and it will do the rest. The printer figures out which paper should be used based on what you sent it and spits out the print. It worked pretty well, and I had some fun sending various things to the spouse as surprises (they sit next to the printer). Lag between sending and printing was minimal, maybe 1-2 min max.

While the CN216 has a larger LCD than the C410A, making navigating the menus easier, it doesn''t have double-sided printing, auto document feeding, dedicated fax support, or built-in wired networking. READ: If you don''t have a wireless network, this printer may not work for you! The scanner is on par with the much more expensive CQ140, 1200dpi, but lags way behind the C410A''s 4800dpi. Pages per minute printing in both black-and-white and color are off by just a couple of pages. All three use the same ink cartridges, however the CN216 doesn''t utilize the special photo black cartridge the other two do. This means you will eat up your black ink a lot quicker. And finally, while there is no dedicated fax support, the CN216 has eFax service. You get 20 pages a month free, and pay per page after.

I didn''t dig into the other features a whole lot, but dabbled with the online features. These some into place when the printer is connected to the internet (via your network) There are some game apps, and some web apps like MSNBC and Yahoo, as well as some kids sites. You can easily pull these up and print directly from the site preloaded pages of Sudoku, coloring pages, top news stories, etc. You can also install more apps. It is a pretty nifty feature, and I was able to print a page of Sudoku in about 30 seconds, and the top news stories easily as well.

Speaking of ink, we tested the ink out on multiple types of photo paper. My general rule of thumb is to use the same brand photo paper as the printer. After all, it would make sense for them to formulate their ink to match their paper and vice versa. Interestingly, all the photos we printed came out the same in appearance. However, I noted that the ink didn''t smear when some moisture (spit) was lightly rubbed on the HP paper, though it did on the Epson and Kodak premium paper we had around the house.

Bottom Line:

Overall, we really like the CN216 is a decent home printer, though it lacks some features found in similar models from HP and other vendors. Compared to the models mentioned in this review, it performs on par with the expensive CQ140, but missing only the tablet and duplex printing function. Given that it''s also $250 less, I''m willing to be forgiving on that.

I bought this printer because it had the features I was looking for and looked like a bargain.

The wireless setup was relatively painless, but the wireless router forces a renew every day so we have to reconfigure the printer nearly every time we want to print (from Linux and Apple). Setting a static IP on the printer is not an option as far as I can tell.

The scanning capabilities have been pretty good.

The printing capabilities stink. Even as I write this review the printer is "thinking about" printing about half the time it never prints and I have to cancel. Pages are ejected onto the floor even with the pathetic piece of kickout plastic designed to prevent it. Sometimes a printed page is sucked back up into the printer causing a nasty jam with a page on top and bottom that''s very difficult to clear. I know that sounds ridiculous and silly, but it happens.

The TouchSmart screen is not as useful as one might think. The only thing I''ve found useful on it is the Setup. Never tried the Copy feature.

Avoid this printer if you''re looking for something reliable and won''t frustrate you.

Kodak Easyshare Photo Printer 500

Kodak Easyshare Photo Printer 500
  • Print real Kodak pictures from popular memory cards (CF, SD, xD, or MS) and PictBridge enabled digital cameras
  • Edit and view pictures before you print on the dock''s 3.5-inch (8.9-centimeter) display
  • Print real Kodak pictures in 60 seconds with or without a computer
  • Wirelessly connect dock to your computer with optional Kodak Wi-Fi card(not included), or print from Bluetooth-enabled cell phone, PDA or other device
  • Select from four print sizes up to 4 x 6 inches (10 x 15 centimeters)

In reading a couple of the reviews previously posted, I decided to add a clarification as it seems many people don''t understand these types of printers. This is a dye sublimation printer.

What''s that mean?

Well, first and foremost, it means it uses dye, not pigment. The paper is stained. It is not an inkjet. There is no ink. There are no jets. There is nothing wet to be sprayed on.

Instead, a roll of film contains an alternating portion of Yellow, Magenta, Cyan and a clear coat. The roll is similar to a fax machine ribbon. Pass 1 stains all the places that need to be yellow, be they very pale and dim or rich and deep. Pass 2 takes care of adding the Magenta dye. Pass 3 adds the Cyan dye. Finally, pass 4 applies a clear coat finish to ward off moisture, peanut butter from children''s fingers, UV light and so on.

One reviewer stated the photos looked like negatives. That''s probably due to a roll of film that is out of sync with the color that is supposed to be printed. That is, the printer was wanting to lay down the yellow dye, but the film was positioned at the cyan dye. All the colors are off, that way. It''s easy enough to resync the film if it should ever get out of whack, but unless the film cartridge itself was malfunctioning, there''s really no way for "User Error" to cause this.

What may seem at first a tedious task to constantly change the roll of film every time you run out of paper is in fact, in my opinion, a blessing. You can buy kits of 40, 80 or 160 prints (overall per-print cost drops rapidly when you buy larger kits). The kit comes with enough pre-cut paper and enough film to print the exact number of photos. When you run out of paper, you run out of film and vice-versa.

This truly reduces waste compared to inkjets, which let you know you didn''t have enough Cyan for that last print by totally ruining the print itself, and because of the waste, your overall costs go up. Plus you must keep spares of various ink cartridges, yellow usually being the one that is used most often and needs the most spare cartridges on hand.

Another issue I hear often that applies to these small printers (whether dye-sub or inkjet) is the LCD screen. It is claimed to be too small, too low resolution, etc. OK, so it is. But let''s keep its purpose in mind. It''s main purpose is to let you see the photo before printing it so you know you are printing the right one. Say you have 78 photos on your SD card, and somewhere around number 65 is the one you want to print. The LCD is there to help you ensure you are printing the correct one. This avoids waste by not forcing you to print photos 60 through 69 just to make sure you get the one you wanted.

On the Kodak (not always present on competitor models), the LCD also lets you do some very basic editing, such as rotation, cropping, zooming and a wee bit of built-in red eye reduction. Personally, I wouldn''t touch the built-in red eye reduction. It reduces red all over the photo, not just in eyes.

Use a computer and a capable software package for all graphics enhancements.

Final bit of bad news: It takes an 8+ color inkjet or a 6 color dye-sub printer to give you anything truly close to lab quality photos at home. The cheaper home printers that handle CMY colors can''t do Red, Green nor Blue. They can get close, but not quite there. Red will never be red. It will look a little on the violet side. Blue and Green will also be close, but not quite. Unless the printer also has a source of pure black dye/ink, it won''t get you crisp, dark, contrasting blacks, either. It will approach black, then things get murky and muddy. Deep ruby red next to indigo next to black will look like so much muck.

Lab photos are the best quality and, if you use the internet to upload them and have them delivered to a local retail store, they are much cheaper, too. This Kodak can actually be cheaper if you buy the 160 prints kit and do some serious shopping for the lowest price. The 40 and 80 print kits are far more expensive than lab photos.

If you want the absolute best quality photos at the absolute best price, use a lab (or spend 15 to 20 thousand on a lab quality printer). If you want the next best, get an 8+ color inkjet. It''s a problem to run out of one color in the middle of a print, and they are notorious for clogging their jets if left unused awhile, but they offer the overall best color capabilities. Your costs, including waste, will take that smile off your face, though.

Getting down to the under 250 dollar printers, though, (which means NOT having an 8+ color inkjet), the dye-sub printers are hands down cheaper to operate, less prone to handling damage and better pixilation than any inkjet. The Kodak series print the best approximations to true Red, Green and Blue than any other home dye-sub, in my opinion.

If you want to do your own photos at home or on the road, are willing to buy the 160 print kit, and want a small photo printer under 250 dollars that give the absolute best image that lasts the absolute longest under normal handling, the Kodak series is the way to go. The only decision for you is WHICH Kodak printer. If you own a Kodak EasyShare camera, you''d probably want a printer with a docking cradle. If you own a non-Kodak camera (with Print Bridge or a compatible memory card), the 500 is your best choice.

Added July 3, 2006:

NOTICE! The Kodak PP 500 will *not* accept any JPEG image over 3.5mb from your memory card when inserted into the memory card slot in the printer. Neither will it accept the DPOF printing instructions from a JPEG over 3.5mb from your PictBridge link. Yes, you *can* print *huge* JPEGs by either (1) sending them from your computer to the printer as a printable file, or (2) manually selecting the print you want from you PictBridge camera and requesting 1 full print.

OK, in simpler terms: If your camera takes photos where the resulting JPEG file is over 3.5mb, you loose the ability to:

1. Do anything at all with such photos directly from your memory card while the card is in the printer''s memory card slot. The printer will complain it''s an invalid file format. No view. No print. No rotate. No multi-ups. No nothing.

2. Use DPOF features of your camera for such files over PictBridge. You *can* navigate to the photo on your camera and request to print it over PictBride, but you can only request a full 4x6 photo (no 2-up, 4-up, etc.), and you can only request one copy. If you want 2 copies, wait for the first to print then request a 2nd copy.

KODAK really blew it on this limitation. With affordable cameras taking snaps in the 10+ megapixel range today, KODAK is really telling customers to use "antiquated" technology for their cameras in order to use the KODAK printer. It''s like Sony selling you a CD player that only plays the first 60 seconds of any song on your CDs. Not what you''d expect from Sony. Not what you''d expect from Kodak, either. VERY curious and VERY stupid.

However, I do stand in favor of the printer. The output quality beats any CMY+Overlay inkjet and is closer to true colors than similarly priced dye-subs. CMY+Overlay+Black inkjets will give you better blacks, but your operational costs will rise and waste will increase. Using the 160 print kits, the Kodak can be cheaper than lab prints (try Provantage as a source). While traveling, I convert my hi-res photos to a copy of lower resolution (using the copy/resize feature of my camera). That way, I can use the memory card and the LCD editing features if someone with me wants a quick snap. At home, I use my computer to print the original, higher quality photo.

Bought a Kodak 500 on line. The LCD never worked so I tried prints from my computer. They were washed out & did not come close to the Computer LCD screen image, Kodak instructed me to return the unit to New Jersey at my expense, evan though it never worked. The several hours spent on line with thier customer service & 17.00 for frieght were compensated with a sample film 10 pack worth 2.50 after I complained about the return freight. I recieved a replacement unit about a month later. It was used but "certified" by the repair center. I set it up & it gave a false empty ink pack message which constantly pops up, it will not work from my directly connected pict bridge equipped camera & the prints I ran from an inserted SD chip are good except the bottom of the pictures are blank with a ragged edge. I am now trying to get a refund & have been instructed to return this unit for repair, ALSO AT MY OWN EXPENSE!! stay clear, Kodak does not back these things for a good reason.

I purchased this printer from Amazon, printed some pictures I had on a card. The pictures were taken mostly on a Nikon Coolpix S1, though some were taken with Kodak cameras. I then tried printing from my Intel based Mac, didn''t work. (Note-call Kodak if you have an Intel Mac and want to print directly, they have a beta driver.) I downloaded a firmware update for the printer, 1.0.4, and after applying that firmware update the printer would no longer recognize the pictures taken on the Nikon camera.

I then purchased another one of these printers from a local store, and pulled the card out of the older/broken printer, inserted into the new printer and it could read/print all of the photos on the card. Thus proving to me that the firmware update was the root cause for my not being able to print those pictures.

The printer would show "Unrecognized file format" on the screen when I attempted to view the pictures. A Kodak V603 camera was able to view the pictures.

I love the printer for family shots, etc and plan to use it to print pictures to send to family. Just an FYI for those that have this printer and might want to print pictures from a camera other than a Kodak. I have a few friends who work at Kodak so I hope to bring this to the attention of the right people and get it resolved in a future firmware update. I realize mistakes do happen, but this one rendered my printer broken to me and I could not get the older firmware to downgrade. :(

We bought this printer at Christmas and the first had a blank screen (software problem). We returned it to Best Buy, no problem. We enjoyed the new one for 9 months, and now we are having to shipped it to service at our expense with the exact same problem. I am currently reviewing camcorders and are finding reviews very informative. Please take ours to heart.

This printer easily handled a new USB jumpdrive, with photos exported from iPhoto on an old G3 iBook, and was just intuitive to operate. But by far the best feature, besides the many ways you can get photos INTO this printer, is the fact that you know exactly what you per print cost is, because you''ve already bought the paper and the dye transfer cartridge for 10, 40 or 160 prints.

You can scroll through the prints and decide, for each one, how many prints you want. If you have ten sheets, you can print ten prints. You decide. Really great product from Kodak.

This is great for use with the Brother QL-570 and QL-500 label printers. People can use paypal shipping with this label paper. Paypal shipping requires you to have this kind of paper in order for your labels to print out of any brother label printer, I made the mistake of trying to use the DK-1202 Label Paper which is the same dimensions but not the same length and Paypal shipping wouldnt let me print out shipping labels without the DK-2205 Paper in my label printer.

The DK-1202 is 2-3/7" x 4,

the DK-2205 is 2-3/7" x 100'' (which is the one that your soposed to use for paypal shipping)

Dont confuse the two like I did :p as paypal shipping only lets you reprint the shipping label within 24 hours of creating it.

I am a student who regularly sells books, old movies, old video games, and other stuff via the internet and hate waiting in long lines at the post office to send a package every once in a while. With this label paper and my Brother QL-570 & QL-500 Label printers I just print out the shipping label using paypal shipping and put the package into any mailbox thus avoiding the long lines at the post office.

We use these labels as our other ''can''t-do-without'' item for the label printer

Again the set up with the cartridge on the labels themselves and the printer makes it super easy to load there is only one way it can be done so if you forget how to do it inbetween loading it is pretty obvious and so very forgiving

I love these labels, this one is in a continuous roll which means it is great for adjusting according to the type of address label needed. But as we send very large parcels at times this is actually fine for that nice wide and bright can be whacked on the front quickly and easily to the most awkward shape, and adheres well to any posting medium (paper, plastic etc)

If I was going to be picky theonly thing I would say is that it needs a gap between the backing and the label to make it easy to peel. As it is in a continuous roll you can make the label easily to any length, but sometimes you have to pick at the edges a bit to get the label off the backing a bit of a gap would make this easier.

Overall an excellent product easy to use, looks good and very adaptable.

This is the label paper to buy! Print labels of multiple sizes, the printer cuts them down to size. No need to get small labels and larger labels, this one does both and any size in between.

Makes nice barcodes for eBay shipping, even on small envelopes.

The only label paper I''m going to buy.

Used this paper in my Epson R1900 printer to print out a poem + picture. The result was superb! Only thing that took some doing was finding the right Epson driver settings for the paper; seems that Galerie has changed their product naming scheme so it was hard to find the right settings. It helps to know that the paper weight is 190 gsm and caliper is 400 micron. Epson settings are:

Paper = premium semigloss photo paper

Quality = Best Photo

Color = Epson Vivid

I restored several old black and white photos and printed them on Ilford Galerie Smooth Fine Art Paper using the Canon Pixma Pro 9000MkII. They look fantastic; albeit they would look even better had I used the 9500MKII, but that is a limitation of the printer not the paper! I used the Epson Print Shield without a problem on this papaer. Prints look great framed!

I''ve generally purchased scrapbooking paper at one of the craft chains, however have been pleased with the quality of Wausau''s regular-sized card stock. This is really beautiful paper, and was well priced...a great purchase!

I just love this paper. I use it for accents on my greeting cars, and it works nicely in the die cutter (I have a Sizzix Big Shot). The weight isn''t quite as heavy as cardstock -more like a light-medium cardstock -but it''s definitely sturdy enough for my uses.

The selection of colors in this collection is very nice -not *too* pastel, but not too bright, either (just in case you''re wondering, there is NO white cardstock in this collection).

You get 5 sheets each of 7 different colors, and at the rate I''m using this, it will last a good long time. For the price, this is a good value.

I love love love this paper! It''s by far my favorite paper for scrapbooking. (it''s also great as a heavy-duty wrapping paper, albeit for small packages). It''s shimmery, without being overly-so. I just love it! I just wish there were more colors and that it was bound at the top or side... but to fix this, I just use a mini binder clip to hold the paper sheets together. Gorgeous Paper!!!

I love this shimmery paper. I use it for letters or titles on my scrapbook pages or sometimes as a background paper. They are really nice well made cardstock and i am very happy with them. I would buy more for sure.

I don''t know whybut I always have a hard time finding matte photo paper in local stores. I turned to Amazon, and they had some of the best quality matte photo paper that has some weight to it similar to cardstock. Galerie has been that I have even used thus far. It worked well with my Cannon printer. It also comes in a very nice sturdy box with a lid that comes off completely, not the usual flimsy boxes.

I highly recommend this paper.

This paper was not exactly as ordered. I asked for Ilford matte paper and got DOUBLE-SIDED Ilford matte paper from the Amazon vender. I like the matte surface and my prints look very good. I just don''t really have a use for double-sided. However, I decided I''d use the other side for any prints that I decided were not the best, just ok.

I use this for art prints that I sell. It''s the best matte paper I''ve found at a great price, and even better that it''s prime eligible. I''ve gotten compliments on the paper quality from buyers.

at $13 and free shipping, it''s only about 26 cents a sheet!

I''d definitely recommend it.

This paper is kind of strange. I guess it would good if you wanted to do prints simliar to postcard feel.

Rite In The Rain Copier Paper

Rite In The Rain Copier Paper - White - 8.5 X 11 - 200 Sh #8511
  • Size - 8 1/2 in x 11 in | Page Pattern - blank
  • Number of Sheets - 200
  • NSN - 7530-01-498-2083

Other waterproof paper products are more like Tyvek. Great for printing maps, nearly impossible to tear, etc. This product is more like regular copy paper but with a waterproof coating. It will run smoothly through your copier or laser printer (as long as it has a heated fuser). Don''t try to use this in you color ink printer (most inks are water based and wont penetrate onto the paper). Also this paper will rip or tear like regular paper but it does repel water and will out last regular paper in humid or wet conditions.

I use this paper to write underwater, it is very good, we can write over it with a pencil, and it is not easy to erase them. It is not so good if you want to re-used other time.

Pros: Works realy well, even in bad weather.

Cons: Works realy well, even in bad weather, when I used to be restricted to office work during heavy rain. Pencil doesn''t erase.

Want Rite In The Rain Copier Paper Discount?

Rite in the Rain paper is so great for printing maps to take on camping/hiking/fishing trips. So much more durable than regular paper and if you use a laser printer to print then the ink is more durable (water resistant) as well.

Used the paper in the rain/snow while I monitored a contractor drill 150ft deep holes in the ground. The forms got wet and dirty and performed great. When mud got on my clipboard I just sprayed it off with water. Like other people say, don''t bother trying to erase just cross out. It''s difficult to erase. Great purchase for anyone who has write and work outside.
