  • FRONT & REAR USB 2.0 | 10/100 ETHERNET | CABLES NOT INCLUDED
  • SHIPS w/TONERS | POWER CORD | DRIVER DISC

This is a much better solution for my home office than the old color all-in-one it replaced.

Overall, I am satisfied.

The pros:

The paper feeder works very well, it is fast and no jamming so far.

No more manual feeding or missing pages.

Fast scanning. Very impressive when large document has to be scanned.

Fast printing

Double-sided printing saves paper

Takes USB dongles, instead of memory cards. I love it.

This is B/W only. For color printing, I have a color laser printer.

The Cons:

The printer will only allow an exchange server and not a web based email

to scan to email. I use gmail and am disappointed. For security,

gmail supports TLS, this printer only supports SSL. Would give a FIVE if

Dell fixes this problem.

I did not expect the memory and hard drive arrive separately.

Even with short cuts, I have to press 4 keys to send a fax instead of

2 or 3 keys with the old one.

Canon PC430 Personal Copier

Canon PC430 Personal Copier
  • Single cartridge system
  • 50-sheet paper tray
  • Instant warm-up
  • Automatic exposure

If your looking for a copy machine, and have been settling for a scanner instead then sell your scanner and pick up a Cannon PC420 or PC430 copier. (I bought the 430 but tested the 420.)

The copies are nice and crisp. With text it will even do perfect copies of text in 8-point font. For pictures it will copy fine. Not perfect, some edges will appear pixilated, good enough for a teacher to make copies from a book for students to do. Yet not good enough for a critical sales or marketing presentation. If you copy from workbooks or textbooks the PC430 will pay for itself in just a few months. No more hassles of waiting or paying on a per copy basis.

The PC430 can have some trouble when you have many gray or offgray boxes that are small. It will smudge the edges but not considerably. For the price though it is perfect, you would have to pay 10x as much for a copier that doesn''t do this.

Being able to hit the Power button and begin to copy is unbelivable. No warm up! If you are used to using $10,000 copiers that take minutes to warm up when you only need one or two copies this is a godsend.

All in all this is one of the best home or homeoffice products you can buy. It works as advertised and is simple to operate. In today''s world of gizmos and gadgets that is saying alot.

It can be carried around to seminars easily. I take mine to quilting classes, so we can copy "foundation papers" for everyone to try. Share recipes. Drag it to a class and when the teacher runs out of handouts, offer to make more on the spot. (If you don''t want to carry it "naked," it fits in the larger courier bags, and if yours is the kid that has a zipper that expands it to 8" depth, you can carry a ream of paper too, although it gets heavy.)

When not carting it around for such uses, it takes up remarkably little space on a home desk or shelf. The tray folds up. Ours has been quite resistant to pet furwe have to be careful with any devices, to see that rabbit fur does not get in the moving parts; we find rabbit fur in our printers, rabbit fur floating on monitors, rabbit fur in the keyboards, rabbit fur in the gas stove burnersbut so far, no rabbit fur has gotten inside this copier, and the lid has been good enough to keep rabbit fur off the glass surface.

A copier that''s portable and pet-resistant, and inexpensive to boot; if it weren''t for the slow speed I''d give it 5 stars instead of 4.

I bought this copier several years ago and it has work well for me. I like that it can also do legal size paper. It does take up alot of desk space due to the two paper trays. I think that there are better choices now. This copier doesn''t have an internal paper tray, doc. feeder, or enlargement of image.

I thought they stopped making stuff like this. Simple and easy to use, and great photocopy results. Go for it.

Not for high volume of copies needed for some businesses but for home use it is an excellent choice. Easy to use with uncomplicated controls very accessible. Copies are clear with darkness/lightness either automatically of manually controlled. Legal sized copies versus only standard size is a real plus over other similar copiers.

I previously bought stack of Canon Photo Plus paper, thinking it''s just as good as Photo "Pro" paper.

I was wrong. If you look at the skin tone, Plus paper is little off and it is very annoying. Caucation will have pinkish skin tone, east asian will have greenish skin tone on "Plus" paper. unlike this "Pro" paper, which is accurate just like shown on the computer monitor.

Don''t compromise on paper to save few cents. Make it worthwhile for spending Hundreds dollar on camera and printer.

After all, it''s the printed paper that gets the most exposure to friends and family.

When I first purchased my photo printer I decided to test several different brands of photo paper so I could compare the results. This was by far the best photo paper off them all. The pictures turned out crisp and clear, as if I got them professionally developed. Don''t waste your time trying other photo paper....I assure you you won''t get better results!

This paper is wonderful. Looks better or as good as Kodak real photo processing. Can''t tell the difference from real photos from ones printed on this paper on a Canon i860 printer.

Tried Kodak paper for printing and prints looked washed out... even in Best quality mode using Kodak or Canon software. Printing in normal mode, default printing, photos come out beautiful on the Canon paper using the Canon Easy Photo Print.

Want Canon Borderless Photo Paper Pro 4 x 6 Inch (1029A027) Discount?

I have tried several other brands of paper to print pictures on from home. NONE compare to the quality photos you get with this Canon Paper. They look as good as any pictures you get professionally developed at any store. As for the shipping charges, if you view the New and Used selections, you will find you ARE able to order directly from Amazon and recieve the free shipping, Amazon is just very slighty (LESS THAN A DOLLAR) more expensive, PLUS you save on shipping.

Seems like a lot of money for printer paper, but I am an all Canon house right now a PowerShot S70 and a Pixma IP4000R. Team this paper up with those products and you get marvelous photographs. I don''t think I could distinguish them from professional prints.

I am a recent father and it has been a great thing for me to be able to pick my favourite photogaphs of my little darling and brighten up my gloomy cubicle walls with them.

I had been using an HP 2500 Color Laser printer (original price, close to $1,500) since early 2003. I am retired, and it had been loaned to me in exchange for some informal consulting to a project which I had helped to set up prior to retiring. The 2500 was noisy, and of late has presented issues with paper handling and jamming. The added additional paper tray stopped feeding paper a few years ago, so I have had to load paper in the main chute which sticks way out from the printer when it is open. So, although the 2500 printed well, and I was under no pressure to return it to its owner, I was ripe for a replacement, and I had been watching the 2605dn because I am generally satisfied with HP printers, and because I very much wanted the automatic 2-side printing. A week or so ago, HP offered an in-house half-price promotion, meaning that I bought the 2605dn for $250 with FREE SHIPPING!

I am pleased to report that it has lived up to my expectations. Print quality is excellent, at least to my untrained eye. Color photos print overly saturated, but that was also the case with the 2500, and I have HP inkjet printers for photos anyway. But, it is oh so quiet, and the double-sided printing worked from the start (select in the print dialog box). And, apparently faster than the 2500, though I did not time it. Certainly, the first page prints much faster from a cold start. So, all-in-all I am a happy camper with this printer. BTW, ~2000-2500 sheet print capacity cartridges are included, so no need to order toner cartridges as with some competitive brands. One more thing: the Ethernet ports on my Linksys router were already filled, one with the existing 2500, so I connected the 2605dn directly to my iMac through its USB port and turned on Printer Sharing in the Mac. Printed flawlessly on the first attempt, and also handled print jobs sent from other computers on my home network via the Mac. Nicely engineered, HP!

The only con is that the lengthy instruction/user manual is sent on the enclosed CD-ROM, but, then again, I rarely consult the manual after I have a printer or computer up and running. So, trees have been saved (though photons have been rudely disturbed!).

I would recommend this product without reservation.

I got them today in the mail, but the product was not up to my expectations. I guess, I didn''t know what parchment paper looked like. But nevertheless, I was looking for a thicker paper with a somewhat glossy finish. This is way too loose, for me to print a certificate on it and award them to someone. Also, the gold foil embossed border is too golden! Strikingly so, if I may add. I may consider looking for other paper options with a different finish, from Geographics perhaps, but this onedefinetely no!

With the gold seals I found elsewhere at Amazon I have added a visual validity and my team has framed and hung these on thier bulkheads further evidence I hit the mark I was aiming at. I purchased this paper in 4x6, 5x7, & 8.5x11, so this review applies to all sizes. The past 5 years or so, I used Canon glossy II paper. I happened upon the Ilford on Amazon and was surprised at the price. I''m well familiar with the Ilford brand. I have friends who are professional commercial photographers and they used it exclusively since pre digital photography. So it''s no "off brand".

This is really nice paper. Beautiful, saturated colors, and great contrast. The pearl premium paper has a really nice smooth feel to it and is a matte type finish. The premium glossy, in my eyes opinion, produces prints equal to the canon glossyII. As far as fading only time will tell. But all framed prints should have UV glass to minimize fading. It''s unlikely that it will be in most store bought frames, unless is states so on the frame. The UV glass can be purchased cut to size at any frame shop.

Getting back to the paper. Pearl finish or gloss: it''s a matter of personal preference. I got both, and haven''t picked a favorite. Some images I may decide look better with one or the other. But it''s surely inexpensive enough to experiment with. Anyway, I think that it great paper and I''ll continue to buy it. Amazon had the premium pearl in 4x6 & 8.5x11 and the premium gloss in 4x6, 5x7, & 8.5x11 through seller Unique Photo. I purchased all 5 that were available. It is great paper at a great price and I Highly recommend it.

Canon(R) P170-DH Printing Calculator
  • Please see the above description.

Canon P170-DH is a business adding machine with a luminescent display with bright blue digits. I bought it for the display, because it is easier to read than a regular LCD display with black digits with no lighting. This is not a scientfic calculator as described at some websites. P170-DH is a non-scientific business machine with add, subtract, multiply, divide, subtotal, grand total, cost-sell-margin, and percentages. It also does time-of-day subtraction to calculate hours worked, making it the only adding machine in this price range with that feature. The red-black-ribbon printer works fine, but it is not as fast as more expensive adding machines. All adding machines have the same buttons, so I suspect the printer speed is what determines the price. I hope you already know how to use an adding machine (not like a calculator); otherwise the one-sheet instruction paper will not be very helpful. Looking for more help, I downloaded the instructions for similar adding machines from Sharp and Casio. Turns out it is the very same single sheet of instructions. Apparently Canon, Casio, Sharp, all use the same internals for their adding machine, and they drop in the same instruction sheet.

It is 24 pound but it is 98 Brightness. A very shiny, thin paper, good for graphics as stated on another site.

The ream I received was taped shut on both ends with transparent tape, and seemed to have less than a full ream. Some of the pages were curled or wrinkled. I returned the Hammermill 107681 paper and ordered other Hammermill laser paper.

The autoselect feature does not work and it''s a major problem for a network printer with 3 paper input trays. Push the wrong button in your word processor and it will reprogram the driver to work in manual mode only with no instructions in how to undo this. The 2100 is a great home printer, the 2100TN is a lousy office printer.

Buy HP LaserJet 2100TN Printer Now

Overall this is another nice printer from HP. We bought the TN networked version including PostScript capability for our Home Office where both my wife and I print from our respective computers and/or laptops. The setup and install of the network configuration drivers is a snap. Our network has a DHCP/Firewall device to share the cable modem and this printer works great in this "floating IP address" configuration. The print speed is good and the 1200 DPI resolution/print quality is notably better than our other HP-6P printer we still use as well.

I have only two compaints about the printer. First, in this day and age the Ethernet should be 10/100-BaseT capable. We knew it didn''t have the support when we bought it, but it doesn''t seem worth the extra money to buy the more expensive print server that supports it. Again, I think this an expected network feature nowadays. The second complaint is the sound level of the printer. It is definately noisier than the HP-6P that we have. The noise concern is not so much the printing noise as a small fan (I assume) that turns on and off while it sits idle. When there is any background noise going on you don''t notice it, but when I''m working alone it can be distracting at times when it either turns on or off and changes noise levels.

In any case, overall, we like the printer and our happy with the purchase.

Read Best Reviews of HP LaserJet 2100TN Printer Here

My IT people bought me the HP 2100 for use as a personal printer in my university office. I liked it so much that I bought one for my home office to replace an old HP 4L. It has been an excellent purchase and I highly recommend this printer. When working at home, I now have the print speed to download and print out legal decisions from the web or Lexis, which was too painful to contemplate with the slow speeds of the HP 4L. I get 8-10 pages per minute regardless of whether the printer is set for draft or top quality modes. So only the longest legal decisions take more than a couple of minutes. Of course, as a law professor, I''m not often printing out graphics intensive files. Charts and figures do slow down the print speed some, so a more graphics intensive user might want to look at alternatives. I''m also not using it in a network environment at home and, at work, I don''t share it with other users. So, again, your mileage may vary.

Both my HP 2100M and 2100TN have been extremely reliable. They are quiet, the paper never jams, they have a reasonably large main paper tray, handle single sheet feeds fine. I''ve generated several camera ready texts on my HP 2100TN using the top quality print settings and had no complaints from readers or publishers, So for a low-volume, mostly text setting, this seems like an ideal printer

Want HP LaserJet 2100TN Printer Discount?

I received this printer as a "gift" from a friend whose business no longer required the services of this printer. I knew it had the built-in Ethernet NIC, but I opted to use it instead with my Linksys WPS11 v3.1 print server in wireless mode. While the original software with the WPS11 no longer works with Windows 7, I was able to get it to work using LPS and manually configuring the printer in Windows.

The print quality is good; better than my Kodak inkjet printer. Since the toner cartridge in the printer is old, I do get some artifacts, but that should go away when I put in a new cartridge. Speed is decent (8-10 ppm), and it''s not nearly as loud or noisy as some make it out to be. Sure, it makes noise when it prints, but no more than an inkjet printer does.

Print drivers that work with this printer in Windows 7 are the LaserJet 2200 ESC6 drivers. I used this to make mine work and have had no problems.

The printer itself is built like a tank. The replacement toner cartridges are inexpensive here on Amazon as compared to the toner cartridges for other LaserJet printers. The toner cartridge is rated to last around 1200 pages or so. I have not yet had to replace my toner cartridge although I print around 10-40 pages a week. At this rate, it''ll be a LONG time before I have to change toner cartridges!

For the price that this printer is available for on Amazon, I highly recommend this printer. There are others you can get that are probably faster and more up-to-date, but if you want to save some money and get a basic laser printer, the LaserJet 2100 TN is not a bad choice.

We have been using this printer in our workgroup for about5months. Contrary to some reviews posted on Amazon earlier, we found that the printer is very quite, requires almost no time to warm up, and prints with excellent quality. I never measured how many pages it actually prints per minute, but its speed is certainly adequate for a small workgroup. User interface is inconvenient since it is limited to three poorly labelled buttons and three LEDs, and one has to refer to the user manual to interpret their blinking pattern each time something goes wrong. However, paper jams or malfunctions happen very seldom, if ever, and one does not have to use those buttons often.

Although our printer has a network card, we decided for the sake of installation simplicity to connect it to a Win-95 PC and share it on the network. This resulted in a problem that a Win-NT computer could not access the printer since HP drivers for NT were not fully compatible with drivers for Win-95/98 ...

I''d say its an entry-level laser printer for a workgroup. I would not recommend to buy it for home office in this pricy configuration with two paper trays and a network card.

They sell this product with a white surface that you can normally create your own label and print directly on the cd with your printer. However, there is no software with any printer I can find that will print on these business card cds. I tried to create a label using the stick on labels but they will not stick to the surface and the fit is not exact. The size of label I used may be my fault but I am sure I used the right size and no matter it still don''t stick on the surface. I tried going to a print shop to see if they would print a label on these cds and they said no. The only way I can see to get a label for these cds is to have them printed online from one of the specialty cd providers and print shops usually used for mass production. In closing if you want to make a small quantity and your own labels use the round 80mm mini cd. They are not a business card shape but at least you can print directly on them using your own printer.

Honestly, I can not tell the difference between a regular photograph and the print out when I use laser photo paper. Even with regular paper, the printouts are good, but you lose a lot of contrast. The software lets you bump the print quality up to 600 x 1200 dpi. The printer also prints extremely fast.

There are 2 negatives that I can tell at the moment...

1. The printer is somewhat noisy and seems to clean between each print job (I think).

2. The printer is pretty big so you need space.

I have seen photo print outs from this printer and the HP Color Laserjet 3600n (Which both use the same cartridges) and think both printers have excellent image quality. If you are looking for a printer that will print out excellent quality images, this probably is the printer you want. Go to a store that carries this printer and print out a demo print to see the image quality. (Click on the ''menu'' button, scroll down to ''information'' and hit the green ''check mark'' button then scroll down to ''print demo'' and hit the green ''check mark'' button again).

I paint and draw portraits and take digital photographs of the paintings to use in my portfolio. I have to say that this printer should work great for that. If I did professional photography or wedding photos, it may not be high enough quality for that, I do not know.

Finally, the color is a bit off straight out of the box. I haven''t taken the time to adjust it, but I assume that this really wouldn''t be a big deal since I noticed some color adjustment software with the windows XP driver, which is the OS I use.
