Buy Canon® imagePROGRAF® iPF610 Large-Format Inkjet Printer Now
I have owned more than on large format printer. This one is expensive to maintain and operate. It has inherent engineering flaws that cause paper jams of any roll media. The $700.00 print head clogs. The build quality is marginal. Run, don''t walk, to HP or something else. Canon is a disappointment in general. They are like BP: all hype and no substance.Read Best Reviews of Canon® imagePROGRAF® iPF610 Large-Format Inkjet Printer Here
This would be an excellent printer... if it worked. Loading paper is very sensitive, the cartridges are very expensive and don''t seem to last very long, after 12 months of use, our roll feeder started chewing up the paper, and after 12 months no printhead cleaning work -hence, we''ll need to buy another print head. We''ve had other color large format printers before (e.g., HP) that were problematic themselves, but not nearly so problematic as the iPF610.
Look elsewhere.

I bought this large format printer/plotter for my CAD classes. As we make a ton of architectural and mechanical designs that need to be on 24" wide paper. Huge mistake, this thing does nothing but break down. It sucks up ink faster than Fat Man with a Double Gulp in each hand!So far I have had to replace the Print-head twice at $565 each, the Maintenance Cartridge another $85 and countless number of print cartridges. Today was the last straw. The Purge Unit is now dead. That is only $300 for the part and needs to be installed by Canon Techies.
I have spent more on supplies and parts for this terrible printer that what I paid for it. Avoid it will all cost. Shame on you Canon for making such a crappy large format printer. Go with Epson or HP.

Richland, WAGreat machine, 1 paper jam in three years. Only thing negative is it is a tad difficult to load sometimes. The roll will crunch up. Not always, sometimes, maybe its me.....
Also, I have it in a very dusty shop office in a steel shop. This thing is bullet proof if it can survive here.
To be clear, I only use it for construction documents which are primarily black and white line drawings.
