We have used this printer for over two years now in our design office it works great on our Mac network and has photo quality output most cad printers can''t do that we print a lot of color renderings in 11x17 and 24"x42" size we have printed over 5000 square feet of drawings before having to replace the printhead this year .... the ink cartridges are large and yes they cost +\$70 but they last around 300''x24" feet of color printing. We have found it to be a very cost effective printer. The only downside is Canon''s included Postermaker software is PC only.

I have owned more than on large format printer. This one is expensive to maintain and operate. It has inherent engineering flaws that cause paper jams of any roll media. The $700.00 print head clogs. The build quality is marginal. Run, don''t walk, to HP or something else. Canon is a disappointment in general. They are like BP: all hype and no substance.

This would be an excellent printer... if it worked. Loading paper is very sensitive, the cartridges are very expensive and don''t seem to last very long, after 12 months of use, our roll feeder started chewing up the paper, and after 12 months no printhead cleaning work -hence, we''ll need to buy another print head.

We''ve had other color large format printers before (e.g., HP) that were problematic themselves, but not nearly so problematic as the iPF610.

Look elsewhere.

I bought this large format printer/plotter for my CAD classes. As we make a ton of architectural and mechanical designs that need to be on 24" wide paper. Huge mistake, this thing does nothing but break down. It sucks up ink faster than Fat Man with a Double Gulp in each hand!

So far I have had to replace the Print-head twice at $565 each, the Maintenance Cartridge another $85 and countless number of print cartridges. Today was the last straw. The Purge Unit is now dead. That is only $300 for the part and needs to be installed by Canon Techies.

I have spent more on supplies and parts for this terrible printer that what I paid for it. Avoid it will all cost. Shame on you Canon for making such a crappy large format printer. Go with Epson or HP.

Great machine, 1 paper jam in three years. Only thing negative is it is a tad difficult to load sometimes. The roll will crunch up. Not always, sometimes, maybe its me.....

Also, I have it in a very dusty shop office in a steel shop. This thing is bullet proof if it can survive here.

To be clear, I only use it for construction documents which are primarily black and white line drawings.

High duty cycle printer that is well priced, highly regarded, and has lots of optional equipment. There is a newer model, the 5330, but it no longer supports an envelope feeder options and costs more. There is also a duplex version (with a d in the model number) but it costs much more. I only wish the print driver had support for a manual duplex (like my HP color laser). I bought it with a 21,000 page toner that makes this printer especially cheap to own. I paid just under $250 for the printer and just over $100 for the lifetime toner. I am very happy.

I previously bought stack of Canon Photo Plus paper, thinking it''s just as good as Photo "Pro" paper.

I was wrong. If you look at the skin tone, Plus paper is little off and it is very annoying. Caucation will have pinkish skin tone, east asian will have greenish skin tone on "Plus" paper. unlike this "Pro" paper, which is accurate just like shown on the computer monitor.

Don''t compromise on paper to save few cents. Make it worthwhile for spending Hundreds dollar on camera and printer.

After all, it''s the printed paper that gets the most exposure to friends and family.

This paper is wonderful. Looks better or as good as Kodak real photo processing. Can''t tell the difference from real photos from ones printed on this paper on a Canon i860 printer.

Tried Kodak paper for printing and prints looked washed out... even in Best quality mode using Kodak or Canon software. Printing in normal mode, default printing, photos come out beautiful on the Canon paper using the Canon Easy Photo Print.

I have tried several other brands of paper to print pictures on from home. NONE compare to the quality photos you get with this Canon Paper. They look as good as any pictures you get professionally developed at any store. As for the shipping charges, if you view the New and Used selections, you will find you ARE able to order directly from Amazon and recieve the free shipping, Amazon is just very slighty (LESS THAN A DOLLAR) more expensive, PLUS you save on shipping.

Seems like a lot of money for printer paper, but I am an all Canon house right now a PowerShot S70 and a Pixma IP4000R. Team this paper up with those products and you get marvelous photographs. I don''t think I could distinguish them from professional prints.

I am a recent father and it has been a great thing for me to be able to pick my favourite photogaphs of my little darling and brighten up my gloomy cubicle walls with them.

I''ve had the opportunity to use this printer (home use) for the past 2 years (it was my roommate''s). The thing is so fantastic and dependable I forget it''s even there; I think that''s the true measure of an excellent product when using it becomes completely transparent. I''ve come to expect this top-notch quality and dependablility; I have no idea what I''m going to buy to try and replace it now that I''m moving out.

Changing the toner cartridge is a walk in the park. It takes longer to fill an ice cube tray. There are so many flaps and doors on the thing that clearing a paperjam (of which we had one over the past 2 years, and it was my fault for loading the paper crooked) was simple and quick. I especially like the separate loader tray that easily accepts envelopes, cards and (my favorite) CD labels. After you''re done with the loader tray, it folds up into the unit.

We also have the 4050 TN''s (has an additional paper tray) at work I can attest that these puppies can handle a seriously high volume of print jobs flawlessly. I don''t know what the pages-per-minute number is, but I can''t imagine you needing anything to be much faster.

Purchased printer approx. two months ago. Super fast and easy setup. One small downside: unable to print more than one sheet of paper or envelope at a time with drawer one (single sheets only) but does a great job with large capacity printing (drawer 2/holds up to 600 sheets) which is what I need the most. Ink quality is great and found a super deal for a 6000 print capacity toner cartride/$26.00 w/o tax and shipping on web! And since I print lots of forms over a given month, I love the speed and simplicity. Saves me time, energy and money. No longer have to run to a print shop for copies. Whew, so glad I purchased would do again in a heart beat!

January 26, 2011

Wanted to give everyone an update about my printer and to let you know that it is still going strong after all this time and a whole lot of pages (WHEW!) Deduced how to print more than one envelope and continued sheets at a time from drawer one (had to refigure a few things in the printer settings) and now its working like a top. Have had no smears, no paper snags and still on my second cartridge (of 6000 sheets) since my first review. Folks, I''m still smiling and thankful that I had purchased this printer when I did. It has really been a blessing to me in more ways than you can imagine from scanning and printing, to making large groups of copy and from those simple "hurry up" sheets that I need to print at the very last minute. When my printer is not in use it goes into powersave mode (sleep). But not to worry, at a slight click to print, it awakens quickly and steps right into gear. Thanks again Amazon for this great offer. I don''t miss my former Xerox one bit!

This printer is worth every penny, we bought it when they came out with this model, so we paid full price. I do not regret it in the least. We have over 90,000 prints and it still works great. Its still in our office and thats all we use.

I have at least one to two of this model printer in the offices I work at because they are so reliable, and need minimal maintenence. The toner last for many sheets of printing (never counted, but I know I probably go more than 1000 sheets at least). The printer rarely jams (except when I used really cheap thin paper), and the secretaries love the sheet feed selection if having to use overhead paper for a letter. The quality of the print (i believe up to 1200dpi) is great for black and white. Highly recommended investment, quite likely one of the last printers your office will need.

I have been a happy owner of a brother laser printer for almost 10 years and finally decided to upgrade to a color laser. The HL3075CW didn''t dissapoint. Setup was fast and easy on both my PC desktop and my Mac laptop (I love the wireless networking!!!). Color quality is good. It prints nice, rich colors. However, it is not a photo printer, so photos come out a bit grainy, but still nice enough. I use the printer for business and it has met all my needs/expectations. It has a reasonable warm-up time, and is fast with printing both color and b/w. My only complaint so far is that it ships with toner cartridges that are only half-filled. Expect about 1,000 pages of printing before you start getting the low toner warnings. Luckily, toner replacement prices are reasonable (when compared to other brands) and you can get a lot more than 1,000 prints with the filled replacement cartridges.

I have now been using the 3075CW for about two months in an office environment. I believe the quality for a color laser (actually LED) printer is quite good. I have used it to print tri-fold color brosures that contain photographs and find that it is quite acceptable. It is not a photo printer nor does it claim to be. It used to take me all day to print 25 tri-folds on a high quality inkjet, it now takes about 3 minutes using this machine. I would recommend the printer to anyone who needs occasional color in an office or home environment.

This is our 5th Brother printer, scanner or label maker. This one tends to eat toner like a pig. The product was very easy to setup. The warm up time is somewhat slow and certain jobs take an extensive time to print. The quality is good, both color and black. The footprint is ok, it could be smaller, but not a big concern. Would have give another star except for the toner use and the warm up time.

Want Brother Printer HL3075CW Wireless Color Printer Discount?

I am a big fan of Brother printers they are a quality product that you can depend on. This printer is no different. I have found so far that it is hard working and durable. It also prints well with accurate colors. I do not print a high quantity of materials, so I cannot comment on that. The ink cartridges are easy to deal with. The paper is easy to load. The one thing that I was surprised to find out with this printer is the fact that you have to make sure that it is placed well so that you can easily access the front and the back of the printer. I do print a lot of labels and envelopes and to do so, you have to access a door that is in the very back of the printer. If you have a place to put this printer where there is room around it to work with these things (if you be print on more than just plain paper) then I believe you will be happy with it.

I decided to try a Brother color laser printer because of the expense of printing on my hp color laser and bought the hl-3075cw. The setup was easy and I had no problem printing in B&W. Then I printed out a color brochure that I had printed on my old hp color laser. The color was terrible. It was obvious to me that there was too much black in the mix -or too much of a variety of colors that would tend to shade colors and dull them down. There was plenty of ink laid down on the paper, so that''s not the problem. Changing to vibrant didn''t help.

I sent the file off to a friend who printed it out on his ancient hp color laser. The colors were fine. I tried printing from 2 other computers that were on my network: same problem. So, assuming it was a problem with this unit, I went back to the store and exchanged it for another one -same model. Same problem.

I called Brother for help, and they were wonderful, both at the initial level and at level 5. They patiently tried every adjustment they could think of and decided that there was nothing to fix the problem. They had spent close to 2 hours all together with me. I decided to search on the internet for information on bad color for Brother laser printers. It seems to be a problem with other models as well. That''s really a shame. I like the printer, the speed, the easy set-up the size and the fact that you can replace toner without having to replace the rolly thingy (sorry, forgot what it''s called). That''s a saving in cost and waste.

With so much going for it, plus the friendly and patient product support, it''s a shame that Brother doesn''t work on the color accuracy. After all, color is the whole point of a color printer. I understand that laser printers aren''t intended for photos, but brochures are their meat and potatoes.

All the work that I do is volunteer. But I don''t like to waste my time making anything that doesn''t look good. If the problem were minor, I would keep the printer. But the colors (light colors, that is) are so grayed that they look depressing. So this printer is going back and I''ll just bite the bullet and buy new toner for my old HP.

Sony Picture Station DPP-FP90 4x6 Photo Printer

  • Portable design with carrying handle to print high-quality prints wherever you are

I purchased one of these printers as a compliment to my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W80. To my surprise and delight the photos that this unit generates are equal to or superior to those I order from the corner drug store. I was REALLY impressed by the quickness of and the quality that it produces. Even more so, the prints are waterproof as the unit applies a laminated surface on the finished photo.

I have, up to now been disappointed with ink jet printers and glossy paper results for photos but with this Sony DPP-FP90, those days are gone! If you''re looking for a photo printer and you own a Sony cyber-Shot camera, look no further! GET THIS PRINTER! I chose to get the 90 because of the larger LCD screen and I''m kinda glad I did. I started researching scanners after my old Epson scanner went south. I say old because I had it for probably a decade and it worked really well. Since i don''t need to scan everyday, I wanted to find a reasonably priced scanner. I came upon the V330 and after reading reviews I thought I''d give it a try. The thing that sold me was the added ability to Scan old negatives and film slides... more on that later.

I found it works really well with my Mac and Image Capture, the utility app that comes with all Macs. That way I bypassed the Epson scanner app that came with the scanner. By using Image Capture I can adjust resolution and select whatever area I choose to scan. It works flawlessly! BUT, be sure to go to the Epson website and download the "fix-it" update for Image Capture.

Now to the scanning of old negatives and film slides. WOW! it works great with film slides (I don''t have any negatives to try scanning those). I used the Epson scanning software for this. It scans 4 slides at once. Some other reviewers complained about the the resolution being not so good. Apparently they didn''t figure out that resolution can be ADJUSTED! Epson offers 3 modes with their software: Home, Business, and Pro. When scanning slides I used the Home set. Here are my settings:

Document type: Positive Film (Slides are usually NOT negative picture)

Image Type: Color:

Destination: Other (allows you to set resolution)

Resolution: 400 dpi (Any more takes too long to scan, any less the picture looks fuzzy)

Target size: 4x6

Do NOT use color restoration. The pics can be adjusted much easier in other applications.

I''ve already scanned hundreds of pics. Once you do a few, you will get into a groove.

DOWNSIDE: The scanning of 4 pictures using the above method takes about 6 minutes. Find a good book to read while you wait and if you have hundreds of slides, be prepared to spend your evenings scanning:)

UPSIDE: Totally worth the money. I highly recommend the Epson V330 scanner!

I wanted a dedicated scan-only scanner that was small, could do multiple photos, some scan from albums, some slides, and be covenient to scan while playing on-line poker. The primary purpose is to convert a few thousand family photos from 40+ years of marriage and some family photos and slides going back 100 years.

The Epson has done all of that. And very well. The scans are quiet and quick. Several photos may be done at once. Color and B&W may be mixed. It is easy to correct some photo flaws, and to re-orient photos. Once in a while the scanner does not perceive that multiple photos are discrete and captures them as a combined image. This is easily corrected.

I would purchase this again.

I was looking for a scanner to process a lot of 35mm slides I had collected over the years.I also had many negatives and pictures to do, so when I purchased this Epson scanner from Amazon, I got started.

I was very happy with the results! The Perfection V330 Photo Scanner was easy to set up and use, and the results were very good-considering the slides were 30+years old.The negatives and pictures are also turning out quite nice.

I definately would recommend this multi-purpose V3300 scanner for anyone.

My purpose was looking for A3 photo scanner with ADF. But it was not success because I could not afford the price of A3 scanner and its specification which some of it does not meet my expectation.

So I have to look for another scanner which meet my below expectation:

1. Scan photo which give the best result.

2. Scan photo from negative film.

3. Could be able to scan A3 document.

4. Fast scanning speed.

5. Low power consumption.

With the above purpose, i have research each scanner specification and price from HP, Epson, Canon... and finally choose this one, EPSON PERFECTION V330.

I used it around 4 days after the date that I purchase. I feel very please with it. It was very easy to setup with windows xp pro. but it just a little bit take time to install additional software that come with its CD.

The scanning speed is very fast (no warm up time) and both text and photo provide a good result. I am doing printing business and sometime my client asked me to produce the same color output as their original document. As I know each device has a difference color gamut, the color won''t give accurate 100% but this printer could help me to archive the result around 90%. I understand about this.

Scanning from the negative film also clear and beautiful. Plus, the the additional software is very helpful especially arcsoft scan-n-stitch. This could help me to save a lot of $ for A3 scanner while sometime I need to scan A3 document for my customer. It just a little bit take time compare to A3 scanner. The OCR software also a plus but I rarely to use it.

There are only two point that I found difficult using this scanner, it related to the layout of the scanner. First it is a little bit difficult to open the scanner cover. There is a little space for our finger to catch the cover to open for scan a document. Second if I open the cover for 180 degree to scan a book, the cover of the scanner would sit on the USB and power cable. That would be inconvenient for position of the scanner cover. Epson to change this designed port. This is the reason that I gave it only 4 stars.

Finally, this is the best scanner on the market for photo, document and film scanner with the affordable price.

thank,

I ordered this scanner based on a recommendation in a recent issue of Popular Photography magazine. I''ve had it for almost a month now and have used it mostly for scanning 35mm slides (up until a few years ago when I bought a digital camera, my primary film for shooting was slide film). I have scanned some older b&w and color photo prints as well, ranging in size from 2x3 inches to 8x10 inches.

The scanner powers up quickly and scans accurately. I wish the resolution on the slides was better (sharper), but for printed photos the resolution is excellent.

The scanner includes software for photo retouching & fixing, but I''ve not yet used that as I already have Corel (formerly Jasc''s) Paint Shop Pro ("poor man''s Adobe Photoshop"). The scanner produces the images as jpg files and uses an Epson color space scheme, but my Paint Shop Pro has no problem reading and converting that to a non-proprietary color space scheme.

Overall I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it for someone looking for a reasonably priced, capable scanner.

Canon Pixma MP530 Office All-In-One Inkjet Photo Printer

Canon Pixma MP530 Office All-In-One Inkjet Photo Printer
  • Compact, stylish unit saves on office space while giving you all the features your workgroup needs to thrive
  • Features a productive 30-page Automatic Document Feeder; prints up to 29 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white, and 19 ppm in color
  • 150-page fax memory safely stores all incoming faxes if paper or ink runs out; built-in scanner offers 1200 by 2400 dots per inch optical resolution
  • Dimensions: 18.4 x 10.4 x 18.4 inches (WxHxD); weighs 28.2 pounds
  • All-In-One photo printer prints, copies, scans, and faxes

You should be aware that this printer has a serious "ink low" behavior. When any ink cartridge is getting low (which still means a lot of ink left by the way), it changes the Fax reception model. Instead of printing your faxes as they arrive, it dumps them into memory. So, even though yellow (say) is low, it will not print your B&W fax!

It takes more than 5 steps to print the fax and delete it (menu, scroll to memory item, ok, scroll to print, OK document, scroll to print all pages, ok, menu to go up, scroll to delete, ok to delete, ok to delete, menu to get out).

Worse, after a couple of these, the memory is mixed up. So, when you want to send a Fax, it will say "memory full" even though the memory is empty. You then have to power cycle the printer (hold down on/off for 1 second, wait 10 seconds, power on, wait for it to get ready (another 10-20 seconds).

This means you either have to waste ink by throwing out cartridges before they are empty, or you have to deal with this mess. Canon says there is no workaround or fix for this.

There are 3 other problems with copying you should know before you buy (I wish I did):

1. You cannot use the Auto Document Feeder (sheet feeder) when copying or scanning with any setting in auto (exposure, size, etc). It does not make any of that clear, so if you find it refuses the auto doc feeder, reset everything to manual :-(

2. Black duplex printing uses color cartridges for one of the sides, so uses the more expensive ink. That is, it does not use the blank ink for both sides.

3. Copying speeds are much slower than the blurb implies. If you make 10 copies of one page, it is as fast as they say. If you copy multiple pages, each one takes much much longer, does the scan, and then does the print. Also, if any setting is in auto mode, it does a two pass scan (one to check the page), and that takes a really long time.

I''ve had this Canon All-In-One for about a week now. It was very easy to set-up with my Windows XP machine due to the clear, easy to follow instructions. It''s desktop footprint is surprisingly small and it takes up less space on my desk than the printer and photocopy machines it replaces.

Print quality overall is very good, while the printer is quiet and fast. Text is clear and crisp and color photos are printed with surprising quality on photo paper. Maybe not quite as good as a dedicated photo printer but, never the less, good enough for this professional photographer as quick proofs.

The scanner is not of the highest quality, but seems to scan well at medium resolution and with fair color fidelity. Not quite a dedicated professional photographers scanner but perfect for normal home and home business uses. The software is easy to use and in advanced mode, quite flexible, enabling the user to dial in manual settings to make the best scan possible. The auto settings seem quite satisfactory for basic home users and should make scanned images look colorful and sharp.

I have not had a chance to see if all the Fax functions work as advertised and I have not yet explored all the ways in which this flexible machine works. The 2 paper trays is a great idea I store normal paper in one and glossy photo paper in the other one push of a button on the front control panel and the paper source can be chosen, eliminating the need to swap out paper types.

I will also have to see how economical the MP530 is with ink cartridges, but having spent the 1st 2 days printing everything I could as tests, the software reports that the ink cartridges are pretty much full.

The MP530 looks great, performs very well and is a good price. So far I am very pleased.

Update on 9-26-06 : I have had some time to use more of the many functions of this printer.

The Fax function has now been tested and works fine with my telephone/answering machine. It sits in line with the phone and only cuts in to pick up the fax if there is an incoming fax, otherwise the answer phone does it''s job unhindered. Perfect!

I have had also a chance to print some photo business cards, quite a few high resolution 8x10 photos and the normal daily B&W text printing. Print quality overall has been very good and the Duplex print (as well as the duplex copy) functions have been very much appreciated and used continuously, as has the web print software. According to the ink cartridge software, the cartridges seem to be still fairly full. The ADF (auto document feeder) works ok if what you feed into it is uncreased, unfolded and of the standard letter size.

The overall build quality is great and I have had nothing but compliments from people who have seen this printer and its output.

I also had a difficult time finding one of these units to actually see and touch and reviews on this machine are few and far between. I finally found one at Fry''s electronics in Fountain Valley.

We have been using an HP officejet 6110 and it finally stopped recognizing print cartridges so I decided to look for a new machine. I was not happy with the cost of replacement cartridges for the hp and it goes through them fairly quickly. The Canon uses induvidual ink cartridges and reviews of similar Canon''s show one of the lowest printing costs available in an inkjet.

I have read the reviews for the mp500 and the mp830. Most people seem to be happy with these machines. I was about to purchase an mp500 when I saw the mp530 on the Canon website. I preferred the 530 because of the fax capability. I believe the 530 uses the same print technology as the 500, and the copy/scanning mechanism is also the same. I use an mp500 at work and the print quality is very good and the scan quality I would rate as good so I ordered the 530.

I have been very happy with the quality of the print. As good as the hp6110 or better. The copy quality is good but the colors tend to be a little washed out which is similar to the mp500. I am sure an adjustment in the printer settings would help with the colors. Quality is a little less than that of the hp but it uses a different scanning mechanism and the quality is acceptable for our uses. I have yet to use the fax function so I am not able to comment on that feature.

I am also very pleased with the looks of the machine. All of the doors and covers close giving the 530 a very sleek look unlike the HP. The output door opens automatically when printing or copying. The print speed is also faster than the 6110.

So far I have not had any compatability issues with the Canon. I have this printer connected to an imac G5 and it works very well. Overall I have given a rating of 4 stars. I think it is an excellent value for the price. After my experience with the hp6110 I don''t think I will go back to hp. From what I have read Canon''s products are generally reliable and that will hopefully be the case with this machine as well.

Hope this review helps.

I purchased the Canon MP530 and have had very good results so far. All the bad reviews about the ink cartridges are by people who gave up on the printer without a simple Google search to fix the problems. You can disable the Print Monitor all together so that the printer will work no matter how low the ink levels are. This is helpful when you refill the ink cartridges yourself, as I have done. Canon would love you buy their tanks every time they go low, but you can refill them yourself; but you must turn off the print monitor because the printer thinks it''s tanks are empty even though you''ve refilled them.

Do it this way: 1) go to "maintenance" tab on print properties 2) select "View Printer Status" from the bottom 3) Click "Option" and deselect "Enable Status Monitor" -That Simple!

A minor annoyance that doesn''t warrant a one-star rating from other users. I really like this printer!

I''ve had this machine for about ten days now, long enough to test all its features and find that I''m 100% satisfied with every one of them.

Installation was a no-brainer on both my XP and iBook

Photos print fabulously with the sample canon glossy paper included

Scanning is extraordinarily good! And the software which allows you to manipulate your scanned images is super useful and very easy to use.

I scanned in my tax returns and saved them to PDF files in 10 minutes!

I scanned in a 2x3 photo from 1964, enlarged it to 4x5 and printed it in 5 minutes, and the new image is as good as the original!

Copying and FAXing are easy and faster than on my old HP Laserjet 3200

The back sheet feeder and lower cartridge work well, provide convenience, and fold up to protect from dust when not in use, as does the automatic document feeder up top.

The paper catcher even unfolds automatically if you are printing a document or photo and forgot to open it!

The machine is very quiet.

UI on the printer panel is intuitive, and the accompanying software is really good, with no conflicts with XP, which is often a problem.

Highly highly recommend this product. Totally worth its price tag.

I am not having the trouble the other reviewer mentioned. Both the blacks and all the color cartridges seem to last a reasonable amount of time. When you can buy a color photo printer for $90, you must expect to pay a premium for the ink cartridges. Most of my printing is photos or graphics, not a lot of text, which may partially account for the longer wear of the black cartridges. All in all, I am happy with this product.

I agree with the other reviewer. I have the MP500 and this is a very nice all in one scan/print/copy no fax machine. However be prepared to shell out some bucks for the PGI-5. I am going thru about 1 every 3 weeks at a cost of about 15 bucks on very lite print jobs. I always use the fast print option. There is no compatible as of yet. I went thru Office Depot where I paid $15 per but got free shipping on orders of $50 or more. I might have to bring back my Epson for my black ink print jobs. The other four cartridges are wearing very well. This is the last printer I will ever buy that doesn''t already have a compatible on the market. I am looking into refilling this cartridge with an ink kit however you have to disable the ink gauge on the printer.

I use these cartridges in my Canon MP970. I''m very happy with the printer and its years of good service and certainly have no complaints about the ink. The PGI 5 cartridge is larger and lasts longer than the other black cartridge in this printer. Quality has been good.

Several times I''ve used generic black cartridges bought from Databazaar. The cartridges are half the price of the Canons and results have been satisfactory, though the Canon inks are noticeably better.

I''ve also noticed that though they are the same size, the Canon cartridges do last longer than the generic types.

The ink cartridges are easy to install and easy to remove. Usually they last many weeks after the blinking warning of low ink appears on my monitor. I use them until the very end when they are totally empty.

This is probably the fifth cartridge I have replaced and the only one not to work perfectly. This one would produce good quality single pages but incomplete printing of multi-page documents.

Amazon was quick to send a replacement after I contacted them but, sent the wrong cartridge.

This is the most cost effective pack. However, I will never get a Canon printer as these toner cartridges are SOO expensive. When I tried to use the cheaper (off brand) cartridges), the printer needed exp[ensive service. Also, the printed colors run if wet -something that does not happen with HP printed stuff
