I have always used Epson perforated 4"x6" photo paper to print photographs, but since I just got the Canon S9000 printer and started using the Canon Photo Paper Pro 4"x6" borderless I''ve been amazed. Compared to Epson''s paper, the Canon is the closest film developed on paper! The Canon paper is smooth, shiny and the colors are vivid. Without the perforations, the paper looks like it''s developed professionally. Every package comes wrapped in a clear plastic sealed bag, and inside are the 20 sheets of photo paper along with a soft tissue paper to protect the first sheet, and a hard cardboard on the back to keep the photos nice and flat.

The only problem is that the surface of the Canon Photo Paper Pro is that it''s easily to scratch when rubbing against other paper or your fingernail. It''s not too noticable unless you look at it in an angle in the light.

But overall, it''s the best paper for 4"x6" photos you want to print yourself! Great quality from Canon, I''m not buying Epson paper again.

This one gets the five stars for its STELLAR perf., inspite of the price. I have tried a number of different papers from Epson, HP, Kodak,... to cheap imitations. Nothing yet compares to the results of the Canon Photo Pro. True Lab quality. If you look at the surface at an angle so you can see the reflection of a light source, you can really tell the difference in the surface textures of different papers. The canon Pro is unique in that it actually looks like a mirror, you can see the detailed image of the light, not a distorted reflection. I.E. the paper is mirror flat, not like any other paper I can find. TOO BAD IT''S SO EXPENSIVE. I have been searching high and low for an alternative. HP-Premium Plus is the closest I can find in quality to this paper. KODAK gives croc-skin on solid areas, as do other cheap papers. Someone PLEASE TELL US!!! If you can find a suitable replacement. FYI: I''m using the Canon S900 printer (WOW) w/S-40 (4MP) camera. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL.

It''s been said before, but it''s worth repeating. With a Canon printer, nothing else comes close to the quality of this paper. I once bought every brand I could find and did a comparison, here are my results with a Canon i850 photo printer.

1st. Canon Photo Paper Pro, hands down, no question

2nd. Epson, much better than the rest

3rd. Burlington (huh? found this at my local Target), pretty grainy

Tied 4th: Kodak "Ultima" and HP, both very grainy

So, if you''re using a Canon printer, Epson will do in a pinch but still doesn''t compare to this paper.

I''m using Photo Paper Pro with my Canon S820 printer to print pictures (mostly snapshots of our 10-month old) taken with a Kodak DX 4900 4.0 mp camera. When I print pictures taken in Hi-Res mode, I can''t tell the difference between those I print on the Canon PPP and those I''ve taken with my Fuji 35mm and sent to a photo lab. The paper feels a lot like what you get from pro photo labs. I agree with the person who commented that the back of the paper feels a bit sticky (much less so than a post-it note though). Everyone I''ve shown the prints to is suprised when they find out that it was done on an ink jet. Yeah, it''s a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I can''t speak for the endurance of the prints yet, but so far I''m very pleased with the color, clarity, & detail. I only gave it 4 stars because I''d like to see a lower price on it to make it a true bargin, other than that, it rates 5.

This is the best paper when printing photos from most Canon Photo printers. I have an S820 and print quality on this paper rivals lab prints and film Fabulous colors, detail, sharpness, etc. (when using a 3+MP camera). However it is not cost effective (40c/sheet).

For 4x6 prints, Canon''s Photo Paper Plus Glossy is indistinguishable from Photo Pro and considerably cheaper (20c/sheet). The only difference, Photo pro is "supposed" to last 25yrs without fading (which given the immortality of digital pics shouldnt be an issue).
