I have owned this printer for almost 3 years. Most of the time it has been broken for one reason or another. It goes through ink pretty fast, and the ink cartridges are very touchy, and I have ruined the last 2 black inks just by installing them. Yes, the replacement cartridges are pricey. And when it is working, I have had a lot of problems with it not printing all of the page, etc. This printer has been a big pain in my booty!

I bought this printer in February 2008 for $29.99 to replace my old HP that went on the fritz. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! The printer is cheap in price, cheap in quality, GREAT in scanning (that is the only reason I will keep it), and EXPENSIVE in replacement ink. Yes, I have tried those discount ink places and the cartridges are still the most expensive I have seen. And yesterday it stopped printing altogether and it''s not worth even taking it in to be repaired. It truly has been a headache, so I''d rather spend a little more and get a printer that I can count on printing.

I had no problems with anything ''til yesterday. Now, it won''t turn on. I paid $30 for it, June of 2008. It doesn''t seem like Lexmark is the brand to buy for me anymore. Yes, the ink is expensive. Hmmmm. . . bummer.

We got this printer about 2 1/2 years ago. It has always worked pretty well except for the tendency to freeze my system and require a restart. Last week it simply stopped reading the color ink cartridge. Now there is a cartridge in the machine but it will not read it so I cannot print anything. I have done everything I know and cannot fix the problem. I have read reviews of other Lexmark printers that also stop reading the color cartridge. I am now looking for an inexpensive replacement but they all seem to have problems so it is difficult to choose one.

I got this printer for half off at Target and thought it was a great deal. But I should have looked at the ink cartridge prices! They are way too expensive, especially for a printer that runs out of ink CONSTANTLY! This printer eats up ink, even when you have it set to print using the lowest amount of ink! And this size of this thing is excessive. If you open the hood you see that it really doesn''t have to be this big. It takes up way too much space.

I do love the scanner though. I would give the scanner 5 stars but the printer doesn''t deserve any stars. And I never used the fax that it comes with, and I uninstalled the fax software, but that made the whole printer malfunction, which is SO DUMB! The fax software is taking up space on my computer and if I delete it, everything else stops working?! Lexmark = FRAUD!
