I had some understanding how to set up a printer to a PC but not to a PC and a router needed for our iPad 2. I had no problem doing either one of them by following the instructions. My wife''s iPad 2 found the printer before I knew it and printing from it is as easy as it is from a PC (no sending the file to an email address bla bla bla) just hit print, ensure the printer intended to print from, enter.
I had no clue how the duplex feature could work other than to use both sides of the page but this Dell has an Eco feature that I think is worth sharing. I test printed a three page text document using this feature. The Dell printed the text automatically using "landscape" style printing two pages on one side of the paper and the third page on the back side. I realize this feature might not be useful by some businesses but it works for me. The feature is easy to turn off and on!
The printer itself seems to be well built. It is not made of cheap plastic as far as I can tell.
I did not print much stuff as of yet so I cannot state how well it will hold up under even light use.
The last time I checked, buying toner through Dell should make printing costs 3.7 cents per page.
I bought my printer through Dell and paid more than it is selling for on Amazon.
Update...Three days after installing the printer we realized a Guest User could not print. I had no clue what I did wrong so I called Dell Technical Support. DTS told me they will help me fix my PC related software issue for a one time fee of $139 since my Dell PC software warranty expired 14 months ago. I told them it was a printer issue not the PC yada yada but they refused to help me unless I paid the money even after I told them I will box the printer and ship it back to them...I called a second number, got a different person, who told me I got the wrong printer department, put me on hold for a half hour and I hung up. You all know what I think about Dell Technical Support right about now?The manual is a joke, just can''t get the wireless set up so living on USB connection for now. Forget about AirPrint.
