Buy Xerox WorkCentre XK35C Inkjet Multifunction Now
I do not own this machine, but I did demo it along with another, more expensive, HP multi-function device, and the Xerox WorkCentre XK35C won hands down. The only problems I found with the 35C were (1) Relative to the more expensive machines, the printing was somewhat slower, however the quality was far superior and (2) I contacted Xerox about the availability of Windows 2000 drivers and they told me that they would not not be releasing Win2k drivers for the 35c because of its age. So, if you have no plans to upgrade past Win 98 or Win NT 4.0, then this would be an excellent product for you. This would be an ideal product for a small business owner or college student. Overall the print quality is superior to that of other inkjet printers and other multi-purpose devices and the cost is less than many inkjet printers. If you have plans to upgrade to Windows 2000, I suggest waiting to buy the newer version of this device that Xerox said they should be releasing by the end of the summer.Read Best Reviews of Xerox WorkCentre XK35C Inkjet Multifunction Here
I bought the XK35c based primarily on the Xerox name and I have not been disappointed. After I got everything set up and the software loaded I started having trouble with the printer. I called Xerox Customer Support Center. After some poking and prodding it was determined by the rep that I still had my old Canon Printer installed. We were able to take care of that and it has been perfect ever since. The printer is producing material that looks like it came from a Laser Printer. I would recommend the XK35c to anyone who needs an inexpensive Printer/copier for a small business or home use. I don`t think you will be able to fine anything that will beat it. Also Xerox customer support center is great they go the extra mile to help. This unit requires a bit more set up effort, including the software, than most other printers I have purchased. But once you are done, it works well and is very quiet. Although it is much slower printing and scanning than my HP 4p scanjet and epson 600 inkjet which it is replacing. But, it does have much improved resolution and it is a great space saver on your desk. The stand alone copy function is helpful. You can copy, even in color, without booting up the whole computer system. On the downside, however, the machine is prone to make my windows 98 operating system freeze up, when I try multiple tasks or "fax from printer" with it or give it too many printing tasks, too rapidly. The pagis pro software is very helpful and has some unexpected functions such as " filling in forms" capability and great "OCR". The print cartridges are a bit spendy...but they look like they should print more documents per cartridge than most other inkjets. All in all this machine should be well worth the money at...and don''t plan to go to windows 2000 operating system which this machine will not handle.I have had my new printer for 2 weeks now, and it is every thing that I expected. I have scanned odd shaped documents, as well as copied a bunch of stuff. Slower to copy color than I anticipated, but the quality was excellent. Great for projects of all kinds
