I bought this cartridge set to try and avoid paying more for a set of cartridges than I did for our HP Office Jet Pro 8500 printer. The cartridges arrived promptly, no problem with the vendor''s service. The problems are: 1) the printer doesn''t recognize the cartridge so it continues to tell you you''re out of ink; and more importantly 2) it give repeated (every few minutes) warnings that you''re using counterfeit cartridges and you''re out of ink. It literally fills my computer screen with warnings if I walk a way for a few hours. I searched to find a way to disable the warning, and perhaps it''s possible to remove the application that tracks ink levels and cartridge status. I haven''t pursued that (yet) because I kind of liked having that service. So, maybe I''ll suck it up and let HP extort us for factory original cartridges. I wonder... if I order them online will they be delivered by armed couriers due to their high cash value? Surely per ounce they''re as valuable as gold.

The ink cartridges are an excellent value. The only complaint I have is that my printer can''t detect the amount of ink that remains in the cartridge, or when a cartridge is getting low on ink and needs to be replaced.
