I used to have the hp 5550, which was an amazing printer for the price. It broke after 4 years, so I was tryign to decide wether to get the same thing, or go with something different. Finally I tried the 6620, and I love it. I wouldn''t pay the retail price, but for 79.99 It is a steal. I have only owned it for about 3 weeks now, but so far its been working perfect.

I bought this HP Printer for the price (and $20 rebate) but got an excellent product in the deal as well. The printing is clear, precise and professional looking. The ink is cheaper to buy and the printer is user friendly and has produced "Zero" problems.

The HP Deskjet 6620 is a great little printer (actually it is not that LITTLE, it is quite wide)for the price. Speedy! And the print quality is good. I have not tried color, though. I really love my Deskjet 6620. It prints quietly and I''ve not found it to be an ink hog. I do use the FastDraft option to conserve ink from time-to-time. Setup went fairly smoothly when I installed it on each of my computers. Be sure to consult the installation guide, I found it to be helpful. It doesn''t work wirelessly out of the box (it''s not supposed to), but I connected it to my wireless router which pretty much makes it wireless. It''s sleek looking, fast responding, and the paper loads in the front (which I needed). I''m very happy with it.

The printed output is fine. The drivers are horrible.

I hate background utilities that must standby and occupy resources in order for the equipment to function. I have never had an Epson operate this way.

If the print manager is removed from the system tray (not run at start-up), you are sunk.

The drivers and utilities must be uninstalled then manually removed from the XP registry.

If the preceding removals are not accomplished, Windows XP may hang during a reboot.

Also, the USB port to which the printer is attached will report a malfunction.

Initially, I thought it was the communications board. So, I disassembled the unit for a look.

Everything seemed well. However, as an experienced technician, I can declare the electronics assembly a fairly haphazard design. I insulated and grounded the comm. board properly.

All in all, typical Xerox junk made in China.

About six months ago I bought this printer to use as a non-networked printer hooked up to my Dell Latitude laptop running Windows 7. I had no trouble hooking it up and it has run flawlessly ever since when printing 8.5 X 11 letterhead. Unfortunately, the printer does not work well with envelopes as it consistently wrinkles the envelopes during the printing process and heat seals the gum on the flap. I can usually separate the flap and re-seal it once the letter is folded and inserted in the envelope, and with a little effort I can straighten out the wrinkles. But really.... What is the utility of a laser printer that mauls envelopes?

If the envelopes were not a problem I would rate this printer with 5 stars; as is, I can only give it three stars because the envelope treatment rates only one star. It''s very frustrating. Fortunately for me I am not a high volume user and some of my print jobs to not require envelopes, so I can fiddle around with this when necessary. I may also go to labels or window envelopes if I can''t get this fixed so it does the whole job.

Edit: In case anyone wonders, I have tried it with two different brands and quality of envelope with the same result. I checked Xerox''s specs for envelopes and mine meet them.

Xerox customer support is non-existent. If you can talk with technical support during the warranty period, you will get "follow the direction on the web site". After warranty expires, Xerox requires a $25 payment to talk with customer service. Xerox also doesn''t provide working drivers for older printer models on new operating systems such as Windows 7. Save yourself some time and money and buy from a company that understands the meaning of "customer" and "technical support".

These ink cartridges work brilliantly, their slim designs are easy to handle and install into the printer. They should be part of the consideration of what printer you choose since if you are printing something with a lot of yellow for example, you do not have to replace a whole cartridge that includes 2 other colours. The price is right too, since this is cheaper than even using my professional discount card at my local office store and these are genuine Brother cartridges, not refills either.

The only irritation I do have with the printer is that it will tell you the ink is low-replace...I can print quite a few pages before it says will not print anynmore, the cartridge is empty. If I am in the middle of printing job, as soon as I replace the cartridge, it picks up where it stops. So, I always have refills sitting there ready to go when my printer stops rather than just low.

It would be helpful if reviews stated which shipper sent the product. Usually, Amazon links all reviews of the same product together, regardless of the shipper, so it is confusing when one person says the product is genuine, yet another states it is a generic rip-off.

I bought what was stated as a "genuine Brother product" for LC613PKS cartridge, shipped by Sophia Global. The cartridge was not recognized by the printer, and it was re-installed several different ways. I needed to print right away, so when I purchased and installed a genuine Brother cartridge from a local store, it worked just fine, so the problem was with the cartridge that I received from Sophia Global.

When I notified the shipper, Sophia Global, of the problem, they revealed that their cartridges are generic, NOT genuine Brother products.

The genuine Brother cartridges are very good products. The ones that Sophia Global sends are highly deceiving because the word "Brother" is printed on the cartridge. However, be forewarned that Sophia Global does not sell genuine Brother products, regardless of what the Amazon description claims.

HP has big problems with cartridges and Support of their ink cartridges. I have had 3 cartridges from 2 sets that would not be accepted by the printer. This happens when the electronic chip or its programing is defective or is damaged in transit. This is not terribly unusual but 3 in the same week is. All were within 30 days of purchase and all were sealed until they were installed and refused to print. New replacements did work.

The real problem comes when you try to get them replaced under warranty. There is no clear way to contact HP. You need to go to the support section and report it as a problem, Then you get a reply asking you to do several things and print a report which can not be printed with a defective cartridge and scan it and send it to them. Failing that they want 13 separate pieces of information most of which are not printed on the cartridge. Then you get a reply that says it will be replaced but you need to fill out another set of questions and give them the serial number of your printer. This is a lot to expect of a consumer who has done nothing more than buy a printer cartridge.

So far the single pack cartridges are OK. Stick with them or avoid HP altogether.

-The linen texture is really nice (looks just like linen fabric).

-The color is great. I was debating between ivory (too yellow) and white (doesn''t stand out from cheaper paper). This is a great compromise. You can look at the colors on Neenah''s website.

-The watermark is significantly nicer than that of Southworth. It just says Classic Linen in a pretty calligraphy.

Con (just one):

As someone mentioned in a review for a similar item, the seller sent a beat up looking package. The corners on one side of the stack were torn, so the first 15 sheet were crinkled badly at the corners. Considering that it was only 10-20 sheets out of 500, and the ream was a good price, I''m okay with this. They would have a hard time selling this in a store, but I would rather get the discount than a pretty package.

In summary, I am glad I was willing to step away from the Southworth brand. In doing so, I found a nice paper in a unique color. I will use this item for resumes and maybe my thesis.

HP Deskjet 3520 e-All-in-One (CX056A#B1H)

I bought this after my old HP printer crapped out. I had some trouble in the beginning with setting up the wi-fi, but quickly figured out it was my wi-fi not my printer. The printer cartridges are super cheap in comparison to other printers. It does come with cartridges but be warned that they aren''t full sized ones, they are just sample size. I am in graduate school and it prints large page amounts with out jamming and is pretty quick. I would recommend. It''s a middle of the road printer, nothing fancy, but does what I need.

When you install this printer you need to install HP printing software. What HP doesn''t tell you is that they are also going to load a whole bunch of other "junk" software. One of the pieces of software that loads is for fingerprint security. You just bought a printer... why on earth would you need to install fingerprint security software?

As it turns out, this wonderful fingerprint security software that goes by the name of SimplePass will then proceed to corrupt your Windows 7 registry and user profile. These issues are seen all over the web. Search google for "Windows 7 temporary profile Simple Pass" and be warned.

HP has always loaded tons of worthless software with their printers. That was annoying. Now they are loading software that is actually defunct and breaking your computer.

I was quite thrilled to get this on a Black Friday deal for $40... boy, I would rather have just flushed those two twenties down the toilet. Would have been a better use for them.

I was able to print exactly 3 sheets of paper.

After that, everything I put into this printer gets chewed up and spit out. Usually not even that; it just firmly gums the whole thing up. I called customer service, ran through their one-hour troubleshooting routine, they agreed it was still in warranty, and they sent me a refurbished one.

Three pieces of paper, and the same thing happens. I''m not a luddite; I know how printers work; you put a piece of paper in, they print. It shouldn''t be magic to find the right paper, the right angle, holding your mouth in JUST the right way. This though? Worthless. Sounds really great, lots of cool functions. Instead, I have a $40 scanner sitting on my desk.

I''m sending this piece of crap back to the company with the jammed paper still in it. They can figure it out.

And I will NEVER, ever buy a Hewlett Packard product ever again. I''ve already been warning people against their computers for years. Since I''m the local tech support, that affects a lot of buying decisions. I''ll be adding their printers to it.

After our three-year old high-end HP printer died, I opted for a less expensive model and picked this one based a consumer guide rating. I have a whole lotta issues with this printer. Mine has a mind of its own and only works when it wants to work. Occasionally it will try to hit me with, black ink low even though its brand new. I''d take it out, shake it, put it back in, then it tells me my color ink is low, even though I just changed both cartridges that week.

It also gets violent at times. The cradle wit the cartridge heads will fly back and fourth very violently smashing into each side over and over again until I unplug the thing... like it is now.

I''ll plug it back in to see what happens, but I think the time is right to get a new printer.

Sometimes the printer seems possessed. The printer head with slam violently from side to side. The only way to clear it is to restart the computer and clear out the print que.

This printer is a bit past its prime, with regards to its features. Other printers offer more, but this little guy is a champ. He works well, is very reliable, quiet and fast.

Like other reviewers here, I was unable to get this drum to work reliably in duplex mode. It would print 3-5 pages and then cause a paper jam. It was really frustrating.

As a last resort, I tried swapping out the drum component....let me explain....I had actually kept the old original Brother drum unit. I remove a couple clips and took out the drum component...the cylindrical part and transferred the one from this replacement drum into the old Brother drum unit.

Now, everything works reliably including duplexing. I''ve just printed 60 duplex pages without any problems.

I suspect the replacement cartridge component is not to the exact spec required and thus the cause of the paper jams. As long as I keep the original Brother cartridge, I can now keep buying these cheap replacement drums.

*EDIT* After 2 weeks with this thing, I have seen it is not perfect, but still worth the price. Specifically, it jams frequently when using full duplex printing. I have pretty much given up on using full duplex with this drum.

Just received this generic drum replacement for my HL-5250DN and after some fiddling it appears that it will be just fine, and at about 1/6th the cost of the OEM version.

One hint, after installing my printer still thought it was using a nearly-dead drum unit. After extensive Googling I was able to find the drum unit count reset procedure, which is this:

1. Open printer door (The same one you opened to take out the toner/drum)

2. Hold down the GO button until all the lights on the top are lit up

3. Release GO button

4. Close door

5. Print at least 5 test pages

This worked like a charm for me

If you print double-sided, and who doesn''t these days to save paper, then this drum is not for you. Like the other reviewers say, you will get a jam for almost every single page you print. It''s garbage! If you print single-sided, it appears to work just fine. I''ve only printed a few pages while trying to debug all these jams. There''s a good chance it won''t hold up under heavy use as the heat wears down the cheap components.

I priced the OEM version of the Brother DR520 drum at two local office supply shops. Both wanted close to $200. I could not figure out how a simple assembly could cost so much so I purchased one online through Amazon for under $40. It works perfectly. It was packed very well. Delivery time was under a week. It has been in place for three weeks with no problems of any sort. Given the success of this purchase, I will be buying toner cartridges from this vendor as well.

This paper is the best for 20" x 30" posters our company prints for international and domestic tradeshows. We used to have to laminate our posters for the shine, but with this gloss it is no longer needed. Amazon.com is also the best place for a deal. We purchase half a dozen at a time and it lasts us for 3 months.

I was really disappointed to realize that the recycled percentage was only 30%. I made my purchase using the Amazon App, and sadly that was not clear enough.

Aside of that, paper is bright, crisp, and what you''d expect; however, the box does make printer loading a breeze and the minimal packaging is eco-efficient and easy for transport.
