B720DN Digital Mono Printer (47PPM)

B720DN Digital Mono Printer, 20V
  • Multifunction
  • OKIDATA OKI IMAGING PRINTERS TIER 2

This is a very fast printer. It holds quite a bit of paper, and it can print double-sided.

The real reason I got this particular printer is the incredibly fantastic deal I found for it on Amazon. It may not be worth buying at its regular price. After all, all it does is print black and white.

But it prints black and white very quickly and very well. It takes a few seconds to start up and receive the print job, and then it goes to work, spewing out one-sided or double-sided print jobs with amazing speed.

If all you''re looking for is a reliable, high-speed black and white printer that can print on both sides, and the price doesn''t turn you off, then you have my highest recommendation.

The OKI B720dn is a great Enterprise/Workgroup printer. If you are looking for an alternate to the HP 4015 printer, OKI''s B720dn printer provides speed, media handling, as well as standard features like duples (two sided printing) and network.

This printer is a real work horse, and perfect for any office environment where crisp clear documents are needed, but attention to costs is critical.B720DN Digital Mono Printer (47PPM), 20V

(TRADEMARKED) STACK S12 Professional Guillotine DeskTop Paper Cutter

(TRADEMARKED) STACK S12 Professional Guillotine DeskTop Paper Cutter
  • Size 22"x15" 38 lbs with cutting width of 12 inches
  • Easy lock safety lever
  • Side paper catch
  • Grid in inches
  • Heavy duty steel cutting bar

This low priced cutter does the job. It can easily handle an inch high stack of paper, thin or thick stock. It has adequate safety features with an auto locking lever (the handle points up the back (29") when locked so you cannot store the unit under a shelf. I managed to cut my finger on the very sharp blade while cleaning the shipping oil off with a baby wipe. The paper-holder is very secure but requires cranking down. This is not a problem but is time consuming so this unit is not for mass production use. The base is very sturdy and operating the unit is easy. It is made in China and the instruction manual reflects this. Luckily, you wont need an instruction manual. Practice on some scrap paper to learn how tight to set the paper holder and how to place the width block. My only disappointment was the lack of metric measurements on the base plate. The picture and write-up on Amazon indicated English and Metric measures but the unit only has inches. Good for cutting paper down and for trimming the ragged edge after binding. Best for low volume use. Very sturdy.

I bought this same unit from E(bay) 2 years ago and it''s still going strong. I chop maybe 1 book a month @ 1-2 inches thick with 190gsm or 300gsm paper. The blade hasn''t dulled yet (and like the reviewer above I too cut my finger while wiping the shipping oil off of it). The one thing I must say is that you have to really crank down hard when securing a book with thick paper. This will leave indentations in the paper, but if you use a cardboard (bookboard) piece ontop of your book block between it and the bar/clamp thing then there wont be any marks on your paper. I also noticed that after heavy use that the clamp seamed to come down at an angle (higher up on the side where I normally place the paper), this is easily fixed by taking off the metal backing.

First undo the two top black screws, then take the cover off. Next set the clam to the bottom most point and loosen the two bolts that hold it in place, this should make it fall flat. When its straight, tighten everything back up and your ready to go.

excellent cutter for the price-anyone having trouble getting a straight smooth cut, be sure you have a layer of cardboard above and below the stack to be cut that are at least as wide as the stack, and tighten the clamp as much as you can by hand, so that there''s ZERO chance of it moving. when i don''t do both of these things, i end up with an edge that either swoops inward or stairsteps all the way down its width.

also, don''t rely on the swing-guide to help you find square; it''s really only good as a back-up along with the clamp by the blade to help keep the stack in place.

great tool for a home studio. mine gets used a few times a month, for bookbinding.

when I saw the picture on the internet of the was that the guillotine was a toy but is an excellent tool, precise cuts, even when the material is bent, small cuts are clean, the only thing I see is against the backstop is very short, difficult to square with the principle but when it does take time, if you include a laser sight would be great I would pay extra for laser sight, very Good Choice when buying a small guillotine.

If I needed another would buy it

I don''t know what else to say other than, I just love this guillotine. I operate a small print center, and this guillotine just makes cutting and trimming jobs so much easier. this is a must have.

This review is based on usage in a small business where the device is at a satellite office.

This is a good piece of Hardware by HP, but as is typical of HP scanners the software is weak. The printer makes excellent images. The machine is fast from the time you click on print to when the page starts printing, and the printing is fast. This is the highlight of the machine. Two sided copying is excellent. The automatic document feature works well for copy and fax, but the scannning software is a problem.

The first machine I got had a defective fax board, but the store I bought it from let me return it for a new unit. Setup of the machine worked well. You can configure it using a built in web server. You might have trouble finding the machine on the nework, though. Unfortunately it does not respond to ping broadcast packets. You can go to the front panel and go through the menus to print a network report to see what IP address it selected. From there the web access works best to set up the machine. Setting a manual IP address is easy enough from the front panel so you know what IP address to connect to. You can get an optional second paper tray.

While setup of the machine via the web access works well it is limited in that the fax cannot be set up through the web interface. This is unfortunate, since the fax settings are tedious to enter from the front panel. You can use the web interface for the address book, but setting fax settings like address, speed, report settings, and everything else are not changeable except through the front panel.

As far as scanning goes, this is not a push scan device. (A push scan device is one where the scanner does the scan, then transfers to another computer by a network protocol like FTP or SMB). There is a button on the machine to scan, but that just starts up the program you have to install on your computer. The HP scan software is difficult to use and unintuitive. Definitely NOT production environment. It is also bloatwear. Over a thousand files get installed on the computer that serves as the scanning control computer. Also, whenever you scan the document comes out at 17 inches on the computer. The workaround in my setting is to fax to our fax server, which takes the calls and keeps the faxes. In this way I have a push scan option at the cost of a phone call for each scan. But if you have a business you do not want to use this as the document scanner using the HP softwear. I do not know if VueScan works with this device.

If you just need a postscript printer then this will work out of the box. For the advanced features that the printer supports you need to install the postscript driver. It may be possible to install the postscript driver without the scan softwear, which would be best if you have several computers that need to use the printer. I specifically did not install the scan softwear at the satellite location where I use the printer and it works fine as a generic postscript printer. (I installed the bloated HP scanning softwear at the main office where I did the initial configuration)

The printer is the same engine as in the HP LaserJet P2015dn Printer (HP LaserJet P2015dn Printer (CB368A#ABA)). Review there are good for understanding more about the printing function. The cartridge, an HP 53, is shared between this multifunction device and the P2015dn. In a small office having the same cartridge used by different printers simplifies inventory issues.

So, for home use and occasional scanning this is a nice machine, fast to print with very high quality printing. For an office environment it is good as a printer and copier, but the scanning software would choke anyone who needed to do document scanning as part of the business workflow.

I purchased this machine as a replacement unit for a small size company. We have a lot of incoming and outgoing fax. For outgoing fax, this unit will feed the first page then feed about 1/3 of the second page then wait for dialing. It will not scan the whole set into memory first before dialing. Also, we got a lot of fax communication error pages. Many docs are either received or sent incomplete. I downloaded and upgraded the firmware and it still has fax problem. I contacted HP support using online chat and changed error correction and speed settings and I still have fax problem. Ordered and added 256MB memory and still no improvement. Will return this unit for a different brand.

Other notes: the scan is acceptable but slow and too light. Printing/copy function is ok.

This is one of the best printers I have owned. The set up was easy and works quickly and prints, scans, faxes and copies well.

Booklet and double side printing make this really useful.

Downside I cannot scan from Preview and it is noisy.

It works well with iMac and 10.5, some features for Windows are not available but these are minor. Well worth buying. Good for home or small office.

We have a small business and just purchased the LaserJet M2727nf. The device was extremely easy to setup. We just plugged the Ethernet cable into the printer, installed the software for both Vista and XP systems, and the printer was automatically discovered. Setting up the fax and scan was also just as easy. All the functions print, scan, copy, and fax work great. I was especially impressed with the ease-of-use of the scan and fax software.

I have had the printer almost a year. It works great as a printer, scanner, and fax. I have had a few jams at the document feed, but it cleared easily. The software is a nice feature allowing you to scan and attach PDF, JPEG, or other formats to e-mails.

Gowrite Dry Erase Sheets, 8.5 X 11 Inches, White, 5 Sheets

My son used this sheet in his dorm room. He likes using a white board for math problems. This one worked since he couldn''t hang a traditional board on his dorm wall.

It came off the wall very easily at the end of the school year. Only problem is it may not be re-usable.

Would purchase again for the same purpose.

These sheets are genius. I''ve placed it on the back of a notebook to provide an easily accessible dry erase surface when I''m in a meeting and trying to brainstorm. I''ve made lightweight dry erase boards to put in my briefcase by placing these on mounting boards and trimming to a custom size.

If you''ve read The Back of the Napkin (Expanded Edition): Solving Problems and Selling Ideas with Pictures, these sheets provide a great tool for meetings and presentations.

The actual surface is just as good as any regular dry erase board and can be placed on numerous surfaces. Seriously, I really love this product.

I bought this product to use in my classroom. THe sheets hang on the wall outside my classroom and I use them to let the kids know what is happening that day before they come in. The paper erases well and doesnt leave marks behind. I also like how it had adhesive on the back so they just stick right up. I will plan to buy new ones next year.

Want Gowrite Dry Erase Sheets (AS8511) Discount?

These Gowrite Dry Erase Sheets offer numerous benefits that I really appreciate and enjoy. They are a perfect size, 8.5 x 11, the perfect weight, and they are pliable yet sturdy. If that wasn''t enough--they also have an adhesive backing!

The dry erase board was invented for sharing information in an on-going and changing environment. Whenever I owned a business, and I have owned several, I would have a board in almost every room. Once I even had a massive wall-sized dry erase board mounted in the conference room. For many years, my home office and kitchen have always had dry erase boards mounted on walls, refrigerators and filing cabinets. I cannot seem to get enough of dry erase surfaces.

I am now retired, but my need for erasable writing surfaces has not decreased. In addition to the ever present To Do Lists and Shopping Lists, I still like to play with ideas and concepts. Mental gymnastics, if you will. All this leads to making notes and drawings, which invariably are changed. What begins as one page in a notebook becomes many marked up and scratched out, hard to read pages.

At home, no problem, I could just use my medium and large dry erase boards. But, on a trip or even out-and-about in town, I end up making notes on napkins, take out bags, backs of business cards, you name it. I have sometimes wondered why someone doesn''t come up with a dry erase board that is small and portable. These 8.5 X 11" sheets are The Answer! They are the perfect size and thickness to put in a 3-ring binder (I use a 3-hole punch or put them in plastic sheet protectors.) They are also sturdy enough to put into my computer bag for road trips.

My refrigerator is now filled with these useful and practical sheets. I have learned to keep the magnetic calendars businesses give out so I can cut my dry erase sheets to fit, enabling me to make them magnetic. The sticky backs are quite sticky and always stay attached without any fuss, wrinkles or other potential problems. I move these dry erase sheets around to mix n'' match and organize my thoughts and projects. Now that I have these, I no longer use my larger, more rigid dry erase boards....I am even thinking of giving them to the local Goodwill.

I hope that at some point these small dry erase sheets will come with a magnetic backing. You can buy magnetic dry erase rolls, but they only come in massive amounts.

I give this product 5 stars for its quality, functionality, and convenience. If I could, I would Gowrite an extra star for their ingenuity.

I bought these for my boyfriend in college but since there are 5 in the pack I kept a couple.

They stick well to walls, fridges etc and they leave absolutely no residue.

The actual sheets act like any other dry erase board, and can be written on using any dry erase pen. They are easy to wipe off so long as you are careful to wipe inwards so you wont stain the wall.

They can also be printed to make calendars, for instance.

All in all these sheets are a great solution if you need a dry erase board but you cant/dont want to hang it on the wall. They can be stuck side by side to make a bigger surface to suit your needs.

I run a photobooth company, and we bought this printer to replace a Canon Selphy CP780. The Canon is also dye sub, prints in 1 minute, and has great quality but it only holds 18 sheets at a time. That means a lot of paper & ink changing during an event while customers wait.

So we bought this printer for the 60 sheet capacity. During testing it worked ok, but not great. The paper feed would not work reliably if the paper tray was full, so we''d have to take some out each time. There were hairline scratches going the length of the photos, barely visible but annoying. And the prints took 1min 10sec, a little slower but still passable. Overall not great quality, but it seemed like it still might be adequate for our use.

During the first live event, it worked well for the first 15-30 minutes. Then the printer driver started showing a popup before every print that said something along the lines of "Please wait, printer driver is processing" and had a progress bar. During this time the CPU was idle (and so was the printer itself), so it was not truly processing anything I believe this was a cooldown period. The manual stated that the if the printer overheated, it would pause long enough to cool down.

So the 1min 10sec print time become 3-5 minutes per print! Instead of a small wait for prints, we had customers waiting from 30 min up to an hour. At the end of the event, we were preventing people from leaving when they wanted.

On the positive side, we did contact support and they offered to ship it back to them at their cost to try to repair this. But with all the things wrong with this printer (paper feed, scratches, long print time) it leads me to believe these are systemic problems and not just related to my specific printer.

I was able to return this printer, and I''m glad I did. I was considering saving it as a backup printer, but even for that it''s not useful. I''m keeping my CP780 as the backup printer, and we bought a Sony UP-CR10L to replace this. It''s not in the same league at all (~$1000), but it is fast (20 sec prints), has good quality, holds 200 prints on a roll (no tear-off tabs), and the prints are cheaper.

Bottom line: Not recommended definitely not for heavy usage, and really not even for light usage. For light use, I''d put up with the Canon CP780. For heavy usage, I''d recommend the UP-CR10L or the UPXC1, or a similar heavy-duty dye-sub printer. For medium usage (>50 sheet capcity,

I bought one of these calculators and it has been the same as worthless. The keys stick constantly--the only way I can get it to work is carefully pressing directly in the middle of each key---which doesn''t happen very often. I''ve never had a calculator with a problem like this. I would not buy this model.

I''ve had a habit in the past of working so intensely when I get going that I absentmindedly dump my calculator off on the floor. The last one took that kind of abuse a couple of times and then I had to replace it. I obviously wanted to replace it with the same kind and then hopefully not abuse it.

This one is serving my purposes well and I haven''t dumped it on the floor yet. I have it fastened down with Velcro, so I won''t do that again.

This machine is easy to operate and functions well. I recommend it.

EDITED after much, much more use to say that I''m very pleased with it. I''ve had no problems. It''s a good, solid machine.

I''ve had this calculator for some time and it works well and consistently every time. I''ve not had problems with keys sticking or any other problems. I need to run carbonless tape and it works well. I would like to find one that is comparable but battery powered.

I initially purchased this calculator because I wanted a desktop size, medium priced for the slight daily usage it would get. This product is a piece of junk! I have gone through two with the warranty and I won''t get another one. This type of product is unacceptable, and I would say should be pulled from Canon''s product line. Both times, the same identical malfunctions occurred. I would suggest trying a Sharp or Texas Instruments brand.
