I''m very happy with this product; though not using it as a printer stand at all. I bought it to use it as a TV stand with DVD player inserted below & it works very well. The wood is solid with finished edges, not particle board. It''s sturdy and functional as well as a beautiful piece of furniture.

This printer stand is well constructed, looks good, and is designed for optimal usefulness. When it''s filled with paper, it still looks neat, tidy, and the finish gives a rich appearance. I''ve had similar printer stands by other manufacturers, which are not this sturdy, and the openings are slightly too narrow for regular paper. And what a bargain in price!!!! I cannot praise this purchase too highly -and I''m VERY particular!

I needed a printer stand to store paper for my new laserjet and found this. It was the cheapest one I could find on Amazon so I thought I would give it a try. When I got it, I was amazed at how nice it is. Its a little bigger than I expected but its very sturdy and looks great. Highly recommended!

I am a big advocate of using vertical space in my somewhat overstuffed home office. Everything does not have to be on a desktop. It may seem ridiculous to rate something as simple as a printer stand, but I looked around for alternatives before I bought this one and have not been disappointed. Metal stands tend to have more "sway" and vibrate while printing and some reviews of the cheaper models reported damage in shipment and broken welds on the shelves. This stand is attractive, serves its purpose well, and is extremely sturdy.

I''m 6''2, so any monitor that I''ve bought has always been too short for me.

This monitor stand did the trick. But, one word of caution, is that I had

to use the highest level (about 5 inches), so if you need more height

extension then 5 inches, you might want to look at alternatives. For me

the 5 inches was perfect.

HP PhotoSmart C4480 All-in-One Printer (Q8388A)

  • Built-in memory card reader for Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, SD, MMC, and XD-picture Cards
  • Measures 17.1 x 23.1 x 6.4 inches (WxDxH)

I just bought this, so if you are looking for long-term performance this isn''t the review for you. But so far I like what I have seen.

There were problems with the previous model (4280?), including bad text printing performance, so I wanted to stay away from that model. I saw this one and couldn''t find any reviews, so I went ahead and bought it, hoping it would be better. As far as I can tell, the text printing (along with photo and normal graphics) is certainly good enough. It is a bit slow, but for most people (myself included) who don''t need to print reams of paper every hour, it isn''t that big of a deal.

Scanning/copying is a little bit slow as well, but again not a big deal to me. It will just be nice to have a capable copier in the house.

I haven''t used some of the functionality, such as the card reader, but printing, scanning and (PC-less) copying seem to work great.

Installation is easy (as long as you don''t have Windows 2000 like the first dolt, er, person reviewing this printer), though it takes longer than I would have suspected, as it is loading up your computer with oodles of junk-ware that will most likely never be run. I''ll most likely go back later and clean those things out the best I can. But that''s what I get for being lazy and telling it to install everything.

Setup couldn''t be more straightforward. I''ve never owned an all-in-one before, so I was a bit surprised that after it printed the print-head alignment page, instead of it asking me to look and see how lined up it was, it told me to put the page into the scanner, and it aligned itself. Brilliant.

This thing looks great, is remarkably compact and feels sturdy. Make sure you have a USB cable when you buy it, as it is not included.

I got this printer free with my MacBook and it''s looking more and more like that''s about what it''s worth. I might have given it two stars but admittedly I am writing this after spending the past 25 minutes dealing with an apparently unsolvable paper jam. As another review noted, this printer got to the end of the paper supply and after that it was more jams than Hot 97. I keep turning it on and off (which in itself is another problem and it won''t always turn on and off, sometimes you have to pull the plug) and now all it wants to do is suck in more paper and feed it out without printing anything until it jams yet again.

Another issue I''ve had with this printer is with scanning-you have to adjust the scan size yourself manually in the preview window (which doesn''t automatically open when you scan), otherwise it will by default scan each of your pages at a different random size and shape! (?!?!)

If there''s one thing I can''t stand, it''s planned obsolescence. This thing was not built to last, it wasn''t even built to work well for a few months! I got it just two months ago, and only use it to print out contracts and recipes, it''s not even getting much use and I''ve already had this many issues with it.

Yes, I would have loved to purchase a more advanced, particularly wireless, printer/scanner/copier, but pricewise this was not an option for me...maybe later. I am extremely pleased with the product output and speed, the quality of scans images later produced from them were exceptional, and the ability to insert media cards into this HP PhotoSmart C4480 machine. PhotoSmart products are the way to go at the moment and based on numerous reviews in top PC magazines these often rank rather highly in comparison to other similar products. The little LCD preview/guide screen is...little, but satisfactory, particularly for the price. I definitely got a quality product for what I paid for and have not had the troubles of paper jams or negative issues mentioned in the other reviewers testimonials. As with all inkjets, the only negative is the cost of replacement cartridges. Based on personal experience with a previous, rather old HP inkjet printer (lasted 7 yrs!!! impressive as it too was a cheaper model that performed extremely well for the first 6 yrs and when I had no choice to go with Windows Vista ugh due to an older computer literally dying on me sad), I will NEVER use refilled or those cartridges from other vendors. HP inkjet cartridges are the best, but are way too expensive for what I am sure they really cost. Wish there was a way to encourage HP to decrease the cost of cartridges if so, I am sure more people would purchase HP inkjet/laser jet products in abundance. Until then, we HP lovers have to suffer these costs...so buy the cartridges from Amazon and in the size with extra ink for savings. It is worth it.

Oh I forgot to mention this is an extremely lightweight multi-use printer, so even though I didn''t go wireless, I am able to move it to wherever I am working in the house. And it was easy to set-up directions were clear IMHO.

Want HP PhotoSmart C4480 All-in-One Printer (Q8388A) Discount?

This printer makes better jams than Smuckers! About the 10th time I tried to clear it, a piece of plastic fell out of the guts of tis printer. It is a dog! A complete waste of money and time! Flee!

I really like the HP PhotoSmart C4480 printer and it works really great for a college student and since it is fairly small it is perfect for being in a dorm room. The set up was extremely easy and fast even for a Macintosh computer. The one thing else that I needed to get for it was a USB cord because it doesn''t come with one, but it comes with ink so you don''t have to buy ink right off the bat and most colleges carry the ink for the printer. The paper feed tray folds right in and over the opening so if you need more space you can close it up and only open it when you need it. The speed for printing is also very nice because I forgot to print out a 5 page paper up until five minutes to get to class and it printed it in under 30 seconds while I was throwing everything else in my bag for class.

Now, I load "scrap" paper in tray 1 as my default printer. I load clean paper in tray 2, so when I need a final copy of something, I just select that printer. This review is for the 250-SHEET Tray for Officejet Pro 8500 Series, which I purchased May 10, 2010. This tray performed well on the first two printers HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-one Printer, but was not recognized by the software with the third one. It did work fine for copying for all 3 printers. (See my review of the Officejet Pro 8500.) HP does not seem particularly interested in supporting the full functionality of this tray under warranty. In frustration, I have pre-ordered Epson WorkForce 840 Color Ink Jet Wireless All-in-One with Fax (C11CA97201) (from Amazon, of course). The Epson has two trays built into it.

UPDATE: this continues to function well several months later despite heavy use.

Wow I just reclaimed a bunch of space in my small office with this and am very happy with it. It goes together without tools and the directions are very good. Paper drops right in, just as advertised, and comes out easily too. I gave this five stars because the $58 price I paid was very reasonable considering the quality. It is not "high" quality the sides are a plastic-type of cardboard which will rip or run a little if you bump it, but even with a few dents/runs it will be strong enough to last. However, I''m more concerned with the tension bands they''re rubber tubes (not springs) like bungees without the nylon. As a result, I worry that these will rot and fail eventually. That could be two to ten years from now, so the desk "real estate" I''ve "leased" in the mean time is well worth it. It''s worth buying two if you use differnt paper types for draft and final reports. It''s on roller-wheels that roll just fine on my seamless parque floors, and although I''d expect low office carpet without too much padding will work just as well I would worry about uneven tile or hardwood because the rollers are medium size and the frame-clearance low. I''m not sure I''ll ever roll this around, however, because it doesn''t fit under my computer worktable. They''d need another rating-star if it was 2" shorter and slid out of sight! What a great product I don''t know that I''d pay any more for better tension bands or frame because the price is perfect for the materials and the materials are more than sufficient. I''ll update this post if the bands ever fail so we can get an idea of how long they''ll last.

HP® Officejet 6000 Inkjet Printer with Wireless Networking/Auto Duplexing

HP® Officejet 6000 Inkjet Printer with Wireless Networking/Auto Duplexing
  • Manufactured by: HP®
  • Sold as 1 EA

First the bads, it''s loud when it starts, and takes a while between starting the printer and actually getting to print something, and ink isn''t cheap, but it''s really not a bad printer. The quality of photos is fantastic, and the setup was easy, just read the instruction book if you''re lost, and you''ll be able to set up your printer wirelessly. When I did, my Mac picked it up and installed drivers for me so I can just print.

I don''t know why people are having such a bad time with the printer, it can print from both sides (with the duplex addon, which I have), and it can print wirelessly so you never have to worry about finding a cable aftwwords.

It''d be better if the printer wasn''t so loud, but I''ll forgive that, along with the ink thing

Mostly I like this printer--and I loved being able to print wirelessly so I didn''t have to have that cord laying across my desk. But half the time (or more) my computer says it''s offline and nothing happens. I turn it off and on and sometimes that fixes it, at least after several tries. Yet at other times it prints effortlessly. Maybe there''s a setting that needs to be changed with the printer, laptop, or router but the deceptively named HP Diagnostics software says everything is fine even when the printer isn''t printing. So now I''ve given up on the wireless printing and have the cord stretched across my desk again. So much for wireless printing. . .

This printer is absolutely miserable to install. During the installation, it gives you the ability to have it work both via USB as well as wireless. This option has never worked. Often times (think about that statement meaning I have had to install it more then once) during installation, the process gets to 94% or 96% and then stops responding.

It is too late to return and get my money back but I will be looking for a non-HP printer. Have four HP/Compaq computers in the house but this will be my last HP printer.

After much research into the Epson R2400 & R1800, I got the 2400. I am absolutely impressed with the quality of pictures! It does a phenominal job. I have two other epson printers, one is the much older 800 which I took to work & am still using. The other is the R200 that I use for general printing & printing on my cd''s & dvd''s. I had a canon 9900 & I90 before. The epson is far superior to the canon. I liked the tech support at canon but I love the epson printers & have never had to use tech support. Yes, the ink is hard to find. It is a high end printer & your ordinary big box stores doesn''t want to mess with it. I order online & save money that way. When I run out of one cartridge, I order 2 to replace it. The printer gives you plenty of warning so you don''t run out. I am an amateur photographer & do lots of scrapbooking. I print all my own pictures with the Epson. It''s not your ordinary printer but I don''t want ordinary pictures. I haven''t been disappointed yet. You just have to make sure you set the print settings for the media you are using.

Buy Epson 8 Color Ink Set with Photo Black for the Stylus R2400 Inkjet Printer. Now

First if you actually own this printer you will know that it can use 9 types of ink, BUT it can only use 8 at a time. So to Mr./Miss one star rating down there.... it only uses 8 inks at a time and you have to switch back and forth from matte/photo ink if you want to print on those two types of paper.

Next Continuous ink systems are just as expensive because in the end the hassle the can and will cause will ultimately cost you the consumer MONEY.

FINALLY choose a "compatible ink" if you want to. You will find that the quality is what you pay for.

If you want QUALITY archival prints, the stick with epson until someone makes something that is not only compatible but BETTER.

These are good quality cartridges as always. They produce very good prints on any type of paper. Will always use them.

Full retail is grossly overpriced. This set is still expensive, but at least it saves a few bucks. It arrived quickly and is real Epson ink. Replacements, in my experience, end up being a lot more costly when they clog the printer and make a mess.

You think oil companies gouge us? Calculate the cost of a gallon of Epson ink. The comparison makes the oil companies look like overly generous philanthropists.

Samsung ML-1450/XAA Laser Printer

Samsung ML-1450/XAA Laser Printer
  • 15 pages per minute print speed
  • 66 MHz RISC processor, 4 MB memory, upgradeable to 64 MB
  • 12,000 pages per month duty cycle
  • Windows, Mac, and Linux compatible

Here is some crucial information for anyone contemplating paying for this machine:

1) owner''s manual and Samsung site are horrible so research has to be done to figure out some crucial specs. You have to download the manual as PDF because there is NO hardcopy manual.

2) Memory module to get is 72 pin EDO which places upgrading the memory very [inexpensive];

3) For Mac users -It does not naturally support Postscript without an additional PostScript SIMM whose part # is ML6060XAXAA and as of this time sets you back... If you are comfortable with PCL 6 emulation then maybe this expense is not necessary. IF you are going to get the PS SIMM be aware that you need to upgrade the memory to at least 16MB which is about another... The PS support is level 3.

4) Samsung is good about providing drivers so all Windows, DOS, Mac and Linux people are not left hanging.

5) Toner... The VERY necessary part # is ML-6060D6. This will get you another 6,000 pages of print. It is an integrated toner and drum set up so you are getting a nice switch out.

For the PC person this is a great printer but the MAC user needs to be very cognizant of what their trade-offs are. If you are only planning to do black and white, predominately text then this may suit but for the graphics person this is not the best at all.

I will update this the more I play with it.

Buy Samsung ML-1450/XAA Laser Printer Now

The plus side:

1. Excellent value for money. The Samsung ML-1450 is the cheapest printer that you can get in its class... Cheap memory upgrade. 4MB is more than sufficient for an average person printing work. If you want to install Post-Script you need to buy at least 1x8 MB EDO RAM, 72 pin, 60 ns, SIMM (Single in Line Memory Module), non parity stick. ML-1450 has built in 4 Mb RAM and to run Post-Script you need 12 MB of RAM. I bought 1 stick of IBM Single sided 16 MB EDO RAM ...(I haven''t try the double sided RAM). If you buy a pair it will be cheaper, but ML-1450 only has 1 slot for EDO stick.

3. Huge tray capacity that can fit 550 pages of A4 size paper. Plus another 100 pages of A4 size paper that you can put on the multipurpose tray. You can also put envelope, letter size paper in this tray.

4.Great software from Samsung. You can print water mark, outlays and multiple pages on 1 paper (up until 16 pages/slides on 1 paper).

5.Easy to setup and networkable. You need to buy USB Hub to use this printer as a network printer. It is cheaper than to buy the ThruPort (Optional 10/100MB base card) from Samsung.

The negative side:

1.It doesn''t come with printed manual, Samsung only provide you with the PDF format of the Manual. With this price, I cannot blame them for trying to cut their cost.

2. Finding the right memory for the upgrade is a bit tricky because this type of memory is only used for the old Pentium computers. I suggest you try your local computer flee Market or eBay. You don''t need 2 sticks for the upgrade, however the old Pentium motherboard only accept even number of stick in order to work. You will probably have to buy 2 sticks from the seller.

3. I have never used Samsung Laser printer before, I cannot say anything about its reliability in the long run. However, Samsung Australia offers free 3 years on-site warranty for this model and the ML-1650N, which is a great bonus for me.

It took me a while to make a decision regarding replacing my old laser printer. I knew I wanted to stay away from low-end HP laser printers....I have had this printer for a week. The low price was attractive. With some of the money I saved, I purchased an extended warranty with full replacement. The print quality is comparable to other more expensive laser printers. It has more features than HP printers that are twice the price. Toner cartridges are still difficult to find. The big unknown about this printer is long-term reliability....I decided that an extended warranty is a sound option.

It was time to replace my HP Laserjet III, and after some looking around it became apparent that Samsung and Brother are more competitive than HP in the low end personal laser market. I chose the Samsung and am very pleased with the choice. The Samsung provides great output (1200 x 1200 DPI), is fast, is networkable, and you can expand the memory to do complex printing. I miss the heavy construction of the HP, but the Samsung is a good product for the money...

Got one two weeks ago for [money]. I was expecting 4MB of memory, but what a joy it was to realize that the unit came with 12MB of memory! What a cinch to install! I have not yet had any reason to reinstall any of the drivers that came with the CD. I''ve got two computers within close proximity, so have both of them hooked to the printer: one by USB cable, and one by parallel cable. I can print fine from both computers under this setup. I tried the n-up printing provided by the Samsung driver and that was pretty impressive. I print a lot of codes, so to be able to print 2 (or up to 16) pages per side really comes in handy! Printing speed from scratch is very fast and I find the "reprint" button very useful as well. With that button, you don''t need to reissue the same print request from your application; just press the button, and the machines spits out the same pages it last printed! It''s been a while since a product has wow''ed me, but this one definitely is a wow''er.

I think this is a good quality paper. I have used cheaper paper that sometimes smears after printing because the ink needs extra time to dry. The ink seems to dry pretty fast on this paper. I rate this product highly because it provides extra brightness, and its 24lb weight gives the paper a real quality feel, at not that much of a premium price for a premium product.

This printer has done exceptionally well on all of the jobs I have had it do thus far. Printing is fast, I can leave it on all the time, and it was simple to network with my AirPort. This is also one of the few printers that actually comes with good Mac drivers for older systems and because of that, I was quite pleased. My only small gripe (which is more of a gripe to the entire printer industry) is the fact that they do not ship with a USB-A to USB-B adapter so you have to buy one or use your old zip drive''s or camera''s. All in all, for a black and white printer, it can''t be beat in price or quality. Refurbished or not.

I''ve been using the printer as a home printer meaning it was never used hard

and was very happy. It''s a little over a year old now and time to replace, it starts

to print then all the lights in my office dim way down and it dies. The red paper

light flashes but I have plenty of paper, if I reset it sometimes it''ll run but most

of the time it won''t run until it cools down for an hour. Guess I''ll look at other

brands because I don''t trust this unit is made to last.

My Samsung ML 1210 laser printer finally died after 6-7 years of home use (what a great printer it was), so I needed a good replacement. My research steered me to this Brother HL-2040 because of the good reviews and the very reasonable cost of this refurbished unit. Though I was skeptical about a refurb., my concerns were somewhat abated by the other Amazon reviews. I have been using it (or really my kids have been using it) quite a bit over the week we have had it. No concerns at all. In fact, it has performed very well with all tasks to date. I think I might even buy another for my office! As indicated by other reviews, you''ll need your own USB connecting wire but you probably have an extra one anyway I used the old Samsung ML-1210''s. Don''t feel the fear of this refurb. printer go ahead and pull the trigger and buy one.

Hi,

I would just like to say that I have had 2 Epson PictureMate printers and they both have been awesome!! No other printers seem to compare to Epson''s photo printers. This one, the Zoom, will not only print your pictures but will also copy your pictures to a cd, Awesome!! The LCD screen is alot bigger on the Zoom than the other ones. I am nothing but pleased!!

The pictures you get are gorgeous. If you want to pay about a buck a pic, that is. The ink cartridge DOES NOT LAST! We get between 35 and 50 pictures, not 150. This is the second time it has happened, and we use the cartridge well before the "use by" date. See the reviews on the cartridge pack for verification. This was our first Epson, we usually only buy HP, and this will be our last. Too bad Epson would rather make a buck on print packs than be customer loyalty oriented, but what else can we expect these days?

My husband bought this for me because we have 6 kids and I live with my camera in my hands. This is so convenient, I can take it anywhere, I don''t have to have a computer to crop, zoom or take out red eye. The picture quality is great and I love that it gives me the option to add a date stamp to each picture. Being able to copy my photos straight from my memory card to a disk was just a super bonus. This is a great product. I even like the ink and paper packs, I mean I spent over $40 just for 3 ink cartridges for my Canon printer which took 6 cartridges plus I still had to buy picture paper, so to get all the ink in one cartridge plus 100-150 sheets of picture paper for less than $40 I think is a great deal.

It may be small, but big on picture quality. I had seen this machine a couple of years back at a scrapbooking convention, and had already seen the quality of the pictures. I was impressed for it''s size, I didn''t expect much. I do already have a much larger EPSON printer that is over 24" long, that cost over $1000 when it came out, and can print 13x17 pictures with not only 10 cartridges of ink, but 5 of them being black. Yes, this is a phenomenal printer too, especially since I do so many black & white photos, but certainly not portable. I wasn''t able to find this PictureMate printer anywhere in a store, no matter where I looked, but didn''t consider going directly to Epson at the time. I was just surprised it couldn''t be found at Best Buy or other Computer stores. Two years later, I attended another CRAFT HOBBY ASSOCIATION convention and took a class, which was not sponsored by Epson. This class changed my thinking about scrapbooking and my style at this time in my life, wanting to simplify everything. I got to use this PictureMate printer in that class; print as much as I wanted, and try all the menu settings and options out of the box. I have never used my camera flash storage directly to printer before either. I always download all my photos, and store them in folders, and rotate them and organize them in Photoshop Elements, which is time-consuming and vulnerable at the same time. The printer takes many camera''s flash storage, and it was simple without having to read manuals. It was super fast & easy, and I LOVE the index prints. It also surprized me having all those different print sizes that would fit on a 4x6 borderless (if you choose) sheet of photo paper. Two years after I initially saw it, I realized it had been improved and had more options, including the cd writer! How convenient! This PictureMate is even better than I expected. I originally wanted this just to take this to scrapbooking crops and our annual scrapbooking retreat since it has power cord, but can even run 9 hours on rechargeable battery! I thought it would be great to have current pictures from crops and conventions and be able to print them out to scrapbook them immediately in some of my class projects! But since I took that new class showing me how to scrapbook a condensed version of a calendar year into a smaller book with plenty of journaling pages from Creative Imaginations, I''ve got this printer on my desk and used it quickly to put together mini-books from our summer vacations. SO, I''m kind of glad that I had waited because i got even more for my money, payed the same price as I would have at Epson, and earned rewards from AMAZON for doing so! What I didn''t expect, is that my larger photo printer would be getting dusty!

Great little printer no bigger than a lunch box. I used this at a party and presented the guest of honor with an album of photos taken just minutes after they were shot. Sharp, good color, easy to use. I recommend if 4x6 prints is what you want.

Inkpress PCL81050 Commercial Luster Inkjet Paper

Inkpress PCL81050 Commercial Luster Inkjet Paper 8in. X 10in. 50 SheetsThe inkpress luster finish printing is a great buy. Makes very nice looking prints on my Epson printers and is reasonably priced.

I recently purchased a few packs of this paper for a local Help-Portrait event that I coordinated. I used the paper in conjunction with Canon PIXMA Pro 9000 printers and had no problems. Just make sure that you feed it into the printer properly, as the two sides look very similar :-)

I used this paper on a canon ix6520 (13x19in) printer and it works perfectly using the semi-gloss paper plus setting. The images are bright and crisp. The price is good for 50 sheets and I would highly recommend this paper to any canon printer user as no icc profile is needed. Icc profiles are available on the manufacturer''s web site.

I have a Canon printer also, the quality of ink sucks, the HP ink is much darker even on the draft setting! Since these days you don''t have to go to the retailers and buy their overpriced cartridges, why not buy a genuine Cartridge online and get a better quality and increase the life of your printer! Not mentioning that you save a lot of headache by not refilling the cartridge.

Quick delivery and great price. I am tired of those refilled cartridges that do not work in my printer. This is a much more reliable alternative without spending much more.
