Star Micronics 37962300 Wireless Monochrome Printer
  • Print Letter-Sized Documents on 4.4-Inch Wide Roll Paper
  • Ultra High Speed: 37 Prescriptions Per Minute (180mm/sec)
  • Kensington Lock Slot
  • Locking Paper Chamber
  • Disable Paper Feed Function

I have a small private practice and like most things marketed for doctors, this has an inflated "Doctors only " price tag so it''s not for occasional home use. I first tried the Dymo 4" for half the price but it was not up to the task it can''t handle continuous rolls and no automatic cutter. (See my review: DYMO LabelWriter 4XL, 4" x 6" Label Printer) I would have bought the Brother 4" Brother QL-1050 Wide Format PC Label Printer but it is too narrow to handle most Rx rolls.

This printer is meant to be used with EHR software. It''s heavy and noisy and not conveniently portable, but can print out 15 prescriptions in less then 15 seconds. Set up is for the IT professional or expert user and not the faint of heart; the software interface and paper setup took about an hour, but it''s worth it. With the thermal Rx rolls I use, prescriptions are nearly impossible to alter or forge. I''m not sure if the key lock is really necessary, but maybe provides some peace of mind. It can use just about any 4" thermal rolls with or without timing marks. I haven''t gone the way of eprescribing yet because only a handful of chain pharmacies accept CII electronically, so I''ll be using this for another year or two, then probably shelf it. It''s worth it to me in the meantime.

Brother QL-570VM Visitor Badge and Management Kit

Brother QL-570VM Visitor Badge and Management Kit
  • Everything you need for visitor badge creation, tracking and reporting. Includes QL-570 Label Printer
  • Easy-to-Use Visitor Badge & Management Software
  • Supply of cost-effective paper badges, holders and lanyards
  • Operator assisted and Self check-in modes available
  • Streamlines your visitor check-in process and enhances building security
  • Creates custom badges using the many samples provided
  • Capture relevant information to generate reports and security logs

Purchased this system to use as a visitor log and to generate badges. The system is very simple to set up and the labels are easy to format; your own logo can be added to the badges also. The software does have some drawbacks it does not automatically calculate the check-in time when you generate the badge; however, it does calculate the sign out time. Also, there is no way to edit the log in case you mispell; you must sign the visitor out and then back in. This creates two records in the visitor log. The reports are very, very basic i.e. an emergency report that shows all visitors currently present, and a "visitor log" that can be exported to Excel for editing and printing. However, "deleted" records are not really deleted; they still appear on the log. If you are looking for a very basic visitor log and badge generation, this system is cheap and easy. The printer works very smoothly and can also be used to generate other types of labels. Visit the Brother web site to get more details on the labels or tapes that are compatible.

I thought this machine was mainly just for making badges, but actually, it is also a shipping label maker! And it is excellent. I found this little surprise gem on clearance and hoped it would work for shipping my online sales. I popped in a roll of DK label tape and voila! It''s golden. I like to use the Brother DK1221 Square Paper Labels, 1000 Labels Retail Packaging, but you can also use the Brother DK-1201 Die-Cut Standard Address Labels or just about any of the DK rolls or compatibles. I''ve not had reason to use the visitor badge features yet, but it''s perfect for my shipping needs.

Canon MF5750 ImageCLASS Multifunction Laser Printer, Copier, Fax, Scanner

Canon MF5750 ImageCLASS Multifunction Laser Printer, Copier, Fax, Scanner
  • Print, copy, scan and fax functions
  • Up to 21 cpm/ppm laser output; 33.6 Kbps Super G3 Fax
  • 1,200 x 2,400 dpi CCD color scanning
  • 50-sheet ADF, 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette
  • Single Cartridge System for easy maintenance; USB 2.0 interface

I bought the MF5750 because of the features, price, and my excellent experience with other Cannon products in the past (2 camcorders, a G2 camera, and an F-80 multifunction inkjet that has given flawless service in my home office with very active use). The MF5750 is ok overall, except since I got it the print has been blurry and smudged at the top of about half the pages I print. You can read the pages, but the print quality is not good enough for professional correspondence. I called Cannon customer service within a few weeks of purchase looking for help. They offered to replace the unit with a refurbrished model (!!) or direct me to a repair facility (!!). I suppose every once in a while Cannon might make a defective product but when it doesn''t work correctly right out of the box I don''t expect a refurbrished unit in return, or to wait for repairs. Instead, I am sending it back to the vendor to exchange for a new unit hopefully I''ll have better luck with this one.

Other than the print quality, the unit seems pretty good the print speed is fast. The multifunction feed for envelopes etc. is a bit finnicky but after you get the hang of it, it works ok. Also, Cannon advises that the printer cable must be under 2 meters, and some USB hubs don''t work. The 15'' USB active cable/hub I tried worked once or twice but after that no go.

I have not tried other multi-function lasers so I really don''t have anything to it compare to.

UPDATE:

I got a new MF5750 replacing the defective unit mentioned in my previous review, and wanted to provide this update after one week of use (about 100 pages printed, a couple copies no faxing).

The print quality problems on the previous unit are solved I would say print quality is 100% fine for professional correspondence. I have not done much grayscale printing. There is slight curling of the paper even using the strait-thru paper path. The printing is quite fast nice for larger documents.

I made a few copies and they are very good. If you look VERY carefully you can see the text is slightly lighter than the original without any adjustments on the MF 5750.

As with the previous unit, the alternate paper feed is a little tricky you need to get the feeder to grab the paper and then print from the PC. If it doesn''t grab correctly the paper doesn''t feed, and the printer jam alarm goes off even though there is no paper jam. You can open the panels/trays but it doesn''t clear the alarm. You need to unplug the machine (yes, that is how the manual instructs you to turn off the alarm). I guess I will either get the hang of it or maybe it will just be easier to use the normal paper tray.

On the USB cable I tried another USB 2.0 extension/hub without any luck. To locate this where I want (about 15 feet from the PC) I may resort to hooking this up to a network because the printer comes with a USB cable about only 4'' long and they say 2 meters is the longest USB cable you should use.

I called Canon tech support with an installation question and they were quite good.

I really like the functionality of this particular all in one, but there are two major flaws that make it one of the most annoying pieces of equipment in my office.

The Special Paper feeder is the first. You have a base tray that will hold your standard paper, and a slot on the front for specialty paper like envelopes, checks, etc. The catch here is that you have to feed each sheet of specialty stock in one at a time, and if you put the next sheet in too early it causes a jam and the printer fails.

Number 2 on the list of annoying features is where your printed material lays after completion. If you are printing a 20 or 30 page document you better be standing right next to the printer. The completed job tray is horrible. After only a few pages are printed the pages begin to push each other out of the tray, so as each additional page comes out of the printer another is pushed out of the tray onto the floor, causing you to have to reorganize the document. This is a huge pain if the pages aren''t numbered.

The fax, and scan features work great, and the quality is good.

The menu system on the unit could use some help but around the time you start to get frustrated with it you get it to do what you want.

All in all I wouldn''t purchase it again, HP has a little more thought into their designs, and specifically into paper feeding and completed job trays.

That''s just my 2 cents.

I''m in my 5th month with this now. I have printed probably around 1000-1500 pieces of paper, about 800 mailing labels, faxed a couple of hundred pages, and done a little photocopying. This machine has been very reliable all the way.

I am amazed that through all the faxing (always using the auto feeder), I have not had a single piece of paper jam when auto feeding. I would say unexpectedly good.

It took a few tries to confirm, but I was happy that you can dial a fax, let it (auto feed) scan through, and immediately dial the next number and scan the next thing to fax. It saves the image and corresponding fax number in memory until the phone line is free. I have had several things in line at once this way. If one fax is busy, it will put it in memory and send the next one. Then try again for the first one. The owner''s manual did not spell out that it could accomplish this, but it will.

I wasn''t sure how much it could print at once without needing to stop to cool down or stop accepting jobs to clear the memory. 75 pages is about the largest thing I have tried to print. It did this without any hesitation...

The only difficulty I have had in 5 months is one paper jam. It was after printing some mailing labels on discount-brand mailing label stock. I then used a more reputable brand of mailing labels and have had no problem since, so I think it was more a symptom of putting low quality medium into it.

I did have to work with it a few times to get the hang of the manual feed for letter addressing, but I figure that would be the same for any printer. After I got it down, the output looks great!

I really like this machine, and when it someday wears out I hope they are still making it so I can buy another one.

Want Canon MF5750 ImageCLASS Multifunction Laser Printer, Copier, Fax, Scanner Discount?

I bought the Canon MF5750 after researching multifunction laser printers with flatbed scanners. I had previously used a Brother but did not like having the toner separate from the drum unit. I brought the unit home, set it up, and proceded to find that the paper tray/path did not feed the paper correctly. Every sheet came out with a "dog-ear" on one corner. Tried everything to get this to work, but to no avail. I like the features of this machine and everything else seemed to work. The paper tray just seems to be a bit flimsy and not well designed or built (it comes in two pieces when shipped that you have to snap together and is all plastic). I took this machine back and exchanged it for a Brother MFC-7820N. I''m very happy with the Brother, which seems better built than the Canon (more heavy duty metal reinforced paper tray that''s all one piece) and works flawlessly. The Brother is also smaller, lighter, and less expensive. I think the Canon has the potential to be a nice printer, but take extra care with the paper tray, which can be easily damaged.

I know it''s difficult to imagine and probably a slight exageration but quite frankly I have never really seen a piece of office equipment with such a non-intuitive usability design.

*To delete a simple job takes at least 3 to 4 button pushes.

*Not very friendly to using different sizes of paper especially if you use MORE THANE 1 SHEET! It''s an office! Canon come on...

*Even if you think you know how to delete a simple print job, don''t bother using buttons that say CLEAR or STOP those are there just to tease. No the actual buttons say things like SET and STATUS MONITOR. After 20 times of doing that, it may become something you remember...

* There''s NO reset button. You have to actually unplug it!

* There''s NO off button. So your scan lamp basically stays on all the time...

* The Cable and Plug wire are designed to hang down the back of the machine UNFORTUNATELY, if you use Legal size paper, your cable and plug wire are pushing up against your paper tray all the time because the Cable and Plug are above it. Really doesn''t make any sense for an OFFICE MACHINE!!!

It does function basically o.k. once you figure it out, but I stand by the title Least Intuitive thing I''ve ever used. I do also concur with most of the other review items but the one gave it 5 stars...

Avery Small Tent Cards (5302) Save 29% off

Avery Small Tent Cards, 2 x 3.5 Inches, White, Box of 160
  • Laser/Inkjet Tent Cards.
  • Quick and easy to use.
  • 40 Sheets with 4 cards on each sheet.

I was delighted to find these tent cards to use as place cards and have only one negative regarding them. Since they are a relatively new product, my MS Digital Image Pro 10 software doesn''t include the template. I downloaded the template from Avery but find it is only for MS Word. It did print the cards correctly from Word, but I had to create them in my Digital Image Pro software and copy them over to Word since I didn''t have as many options for customizing the cards in the Word software.

In the past, I''ve used business cards as place cards and have the templates to print them in the DI Pro software, but it''s so much nicer to have the tent style cards for the table, I was happy to switch. I like to put a picture on the cards and a greeting as well as the person''s name. The picture might be one I''ve taken or from ClipArt and provides a nice background to enhance the party''s theme. For Thanksgiving dinner, I chose a ClipArt scene of colorful gourds as my background, then added a ''Happy Thanksgiving'' banner in outlined shaped text in coordinating colors and then the person''s name below. I find the DI Pro software gives me many more options and is easier to use for these activities, so although I could copy the created place card and paste it into the Word template that was a step that slowed the process. The other part of the process that annoyed me in the Word template was not being able to see the outline of the card in the template document. In DI Pro, I can see that outline and can enlarge the picture to fully cover the card surface if needed. In this case, I ended up with white space around two sides of the card.

For business meetings where the cards will be more formal and Word software options are satisfactory, the template is great, but for dinner parties I want more flexibility than Word can provide. Because of how the cards are placed on the sheet, none of the other older templates can be used.

The cards do release from the sheet perfectly with smooth edges and make a very nice table accent, so I''m pleased with them, but do wish I had more options for software creation.

I''ve used these tent cards to create escort cards for my wedding. It worked out perfectly. The cards might be a bit thinner than the once you can get custom made from bridal salons / printers. However don''t let that discourage you from trying these out. Once you put your own creativity into these they are going to be totally worth it. I''ve used Avery website to create my own custom design, which worked really well for me.

Edit: I just posted a picture of the end result from my wedding. Just click on "View and share related images" link right below the picture of the listing.

Overall a good purchase

PROs

-The tent cards tear very easy and quickly

-After separating the cards, there is little sign of the perforations left

-The MS Word template I downloaded from the Avery site is laid out well and easy to use

CONs

-The sheets did not feed well in my printer, I had to manually feed through each sheet. I''m sure some printers handle the thick sheets better than others though.

  • Get precision color consistency and vivid, true-to-life hues
  • Produce affordable studio-quality photos
  • Cherish long-lasting color photos that resist fading for more than 200 years
  • Replace only the cartridges that runs out among eight individual colors

Five Stars because the HP 38 Magenta Pigment Ink Cartridge was shipped immediately and arrived promptly in good condition. If you use HP 38 ink in your printer, you must have all eight colors in the HP 38 series for your printer to operate properly, so price is a big consideration. Buying blind can cost you more for a complete set of inks, including more than one cartridge for the light gray and a couple of other colors that are used up faster than the others, than a new printer, and in fact I have heard of people that simply buy a new printer (of a different make) because it''s cheaper than the inks. Amazon has a selection of vendors, but be wary I recently picked the lowest price for each color, mostly from one vendor, and when I went to check out I found that this particular vendor charged $9 per cartridge for shipping and handling, making them the most expensive vendor on Amazon.

I stock up on inks only occasionally. The trigger event is when the warning light on the printer for a particular color comes on, and I don''t have that color ready to change. When that happens, I check out what I do have, flesh out what I need to have a complete set including two of light gray, light cyan, and light magenta, and order them all, usually on Amazon. I like genuine HP inks on Amazon because that''s where the price, Amazon Prime free shipping, vendor reliability, and prompt delivery all come together. I need genuine HP inks because I have this printer for studio-quality color prints and I depend on it for my most-invested hobby, and I don''t have the time or patience to deal with cartridges that require color re-calibration or don''t provide the color fidelity that I expect of an 8-ink printer, or that don''t last as long as HP 38 ink cartridges. One of the reasons that I selected this printer was the combination of quality prints, low cost per print, and long life of the ink cartridges, a rare combination.

I recommend genuine HP 38 inks to anyone with a printer that calls for these inks, and recommend Amazon.com as the first place to check for best price. You can depend on Amazon and their associated vendors to deliver the right product promptly every time.

I seem to plow thru these often good response from Amazon on delivery yes the ink is expensive, but archival quality for professional pigment prints is worth it otherwise, dust off your darkroom equipment. The digital age is not going away.

I haven''t installed the new ink cartridges yet, so I can''t comment on the ink quality. However, it is HP NIB ink and there should be no problem.

What really impressed me was the speed of delivery. I elected free shipping (4-7 day delay). I received the items within 36 hours of placing the order.

Lastly, the amazon.com ink store price was still cheaper than the HP direct 15% "preferred" discount.

Thank you.

This is more a review of AMAZON''s great service than the ink. If you own the HP B9180 then you simply Must use this ink.

My local photo stores and office supply stores simply do not stock this ink... and ordering from other online shops id "iffy" at best. With Amazon (And an Amazon Prime account) I get super fast FREE shipping and Amazon has not been out of stock yet.

Great service!~

I purchased this item because I needed a good fax machine and got a great bonus with it being a laser black & white printer also! Inkjet fax machines cost a fortune in replacement cartridges and the Canon has a very good laser replacement cartridge at a good price as it gets 2,700 to 3,000 prints per cartridge. The quality is beautiful since it is a laser. Set up was very simple and the prints from my computer are professional. I also utilized the distinctive ring features so I know a fax is coming in versus a regular phone call and don''t pick it up. I highly recommend purchasing it.

I purchased this model around 6 months ago, and the problems continue every day. This machine won''t fax multiple pages...instead it likes to pull the whole 5 or 6 page set through at once, thus jamming and causing headache. Secondly, the machine likes to jam up while receiving. I am not the only one I know with these problems.

I wasted good money on this product and I would suggest you not do the same. Now I''m off to buy a new one of a different model; the old Canon got a swipe of the sledgehammer.

Want Canon FAXPHONE L80 Laser Fax/Printer Discount?

If you like a machine pulling multiple pages through at one time and being forced to feed each page before it shuts off, then this is the machine for you.

I think the most frustrating thing about a fax machine, is when you put your four or five page fax into the feeder, and the machine sucks two or three sheets at once ruining your whole fax! I especially got this machine because I thought it was a quality machine, and wouldn''t do that, but I was wrong. Sometimes this machine sucks more than one sheet at a time which is very frustrating. I would stay away. It prints nicely, but it doesn''t help if it ruins your faxes. I see other reviewers have the same problem.

I had the same experience as Bill. I ordered 3 different sets of checks, 1 for my personal account and 1 for each of my 2 business accounts. I emailed "Lisa" from Compuchecks scans of old checks from my 3 accounts with an array of changes to each. It was a bit complicated, but Lisa was very patient and accommodating. It was nice corresponding with a real person. Checks arrived in 2 days and looked perfect! Kudos!

When we were looking to refresh our business checks for something more affordable then what our bank was offering, we decided to check Amazon. being a little skeptical about and apples to apples comparison was soon disolved by the first email from Compuchecks. We scanned in our last laser check attached to the email we were sent and asked to have the address changed on the checks. We received a reply as well as notification of the checks being printed that day. We received the checks two days later and WoW. For one third the cost of the bank pricing we received the same if not better looking checks! We will always buy from Compuchecks! BTW we are power buyers on Amazon and I mean we buy just about all business and personal items from Amazon but we offer little if any reviews. The customer service we received without asking is what prompted me to write this review.

Cheers,

Bill

Great checks, great price, great service. Simple

Ordering another set today, I use this with Quickbooks for Mac and it works great with my laser and inkjet printer

I started a small business, and I (obviously) needed some checks. I wanted to have checks I can use with Quickbooks Pro, that will have my company''s logo, and won''t cost me an arm and a leg.

This was the best deal I found, and that includes buying from Compuchecks directly (they charge higher shipping rates if you go with them directly).

I made my order on a Friday evening (outside normal business hours). Compuchecks contacted me on Monday with a standard form asking for information. They asked all the normal questions. For bank and account information you can either write it in a word document or attach a scanned check. I attached a scanned check and asked them to make a few adjustments I was concerned they won''t read what I wrote but just copy it from the check, but my concerns were unfounded. I also attached my newly drawn logo.

They printed the checks and shipped them the same day. Two days later I received my checks, as ordered, perfectly printed, with my B/W logo (pretty nice quality), and all the details correctly on the checks.

I got this paper locally because the store I was in was out of HP and Kodak photo paper. The price was about the same so I thought I''d try it. Big mistake! When I printed on an HP6280 All-in -One (also a crappy printer due to the ink guzzling), the paper would curl and twist. I don''t have this problem with the HP or Kodak photo paper I''ve used. Also, the paper is a little larger than the HP photo paper. Don''t know which brand is a true 4x6 but one is definately off. Not really a big deal unless you intend on putting the picture in a frame, but the curling issue is. I''d recommend getting a name brand paper since the price is about the same.

SiPix Pocket Printer A6 - Printer Save 80% off

SiPix Pocket Printer A6 - Printer - B/W - direct thermal - A6 - 400 dpi x 400...
  • SiPix A6 Pocket Palm Printer connects easily to either PCs or Palm Pilots.
  • The direct thermal printing method means the only consumables are the paper and the batteries

... Portable printers are not meant to compete against laserprinters or ink jets. They are made to provide printouts under non-office conditions, i.e., field use, and except for environs were extreme heat-in-the-shade --like deserts, are operant, a thermal printer is most reliable, needs little maintenance and consumes few resources.

Thermal printouts are used all the time as TRANSITORY computer output on paper, such as ATMs, gas station receipts etc., to give users a copy of output. I''ve used 2 thermal printers since 1984, and these printers have outlived their CPUs.

I use the printer as general output on a boat or a plane, often in transit to remote locations, exposed to high humidity and at times printing from within a ziplock bag. The IR signal penetrates the bag nicely, and allows printing in a water resistant container. Thermal paper doesn''t run when wet, and when cold laminated, allows one to take printouts diving ... were water temps rarely exceed 90F.

Competing ink jet printers, while capable of A4 size sheets, can have comparably illegible fonts, higher cost and maintenance and print horribly under humid conditions. A4 paper is more inconvenient to carry.

The Sipix is very similar to a thermal printer engine released by Alps in 1998...

A full spec sheet is availableonline...

It has a rated life of 50 million print impressions and paper advance mechanism life of 20km. That''s roughly 17,000 prints or 72,000 sheets advanced of A4 paper. Using A6 paper, that''s substantially more sheets.

Rolled Paper is Superior to Sheet Paper. Printouts rarely use the full length of a single A6 sheet, thus the unprinted area is wasted. In long printouts, type will span several pages, and sheet paper will be wasted on unprinted margins.

What is wrong with the Sipix is the cost, its not worth [the price]. ....

The Sipix thicker thermal paper maybe less prone to curl, but it still does, and its not suitable for rolls. Roll paper are torn are various lengths. The Sipix paper is too strong and does not tear cleanly. Sipix paper is too expensive, even if heavily discounted... You can buy bulk A6 wide paper of over 76 feet per roll, of thinner grade paper for [$] for 25 rolls, and simply cut 8'' rolls for convenience. ...

As a heavy user of word processing on my Palm via DataViz''s Documents to Go 4.0 (available from Amazon) which allows me to download -and work on -MS Word files on my PDA, I was anxious to find a means to print these Word documents directly from my Palm -without having to synch and output from my PC. Additionally, if the printer were also portable, that would be even better.

The Sipix Pocket Printer A6 -along with the Docs to Print and IR Print software programs (both available from doctoprint.irprint.com as either a free trial or to purchase) -fit the bill quite nicely.

The Sipix A6 printer is just a little bit larger than the Palm itself. It runs on AA batteries and receives its info from the Palm via infrared (IR), which makes it totally cordless. The Sipix also uses thermal imaging, which eliminates the need for ribbons or ink jet cartridges, which is convenient; but it does require the use of specially coated A6 size thermal paper, also available from Sipix (and Amazon) in either rolls or sheets. (I use the latter -and carry a little stapler with me -since it lays flatter and looks much neater.)

The basic Sipix A6 software (also from IR Print) that comes with the unit, only allows one to print entries from the Palm Calendar, To Do, Memo and Address functions, which in itself, is only mildly useful.

To do more, here''s what you''ll need to install on your Palm:

Docs To Go (DataViz) + Docs to Print + IR Print*

* The more enhanced version of IR Print available from their website.

Once all three of these are installed, you''ll be able to print Word documents, not only to the Sipix A6, but also to all of the IR capable models from HP (such as the DeskJet 990 series) and from Canon (including the BJC line of portable ink jet printers), which is really cool!

Being thermal, the print quality of the Sipix unit is, unfortunately, rather crude; and the speed is rather slow (especially when compared to regular laser and ink jet printers). But the Sipix is still the smallest portable printer available today for my Palm. And I carry it -along with a slim box of A6 paper -everywhere with me in my briefcase.

I use the Sipix to print rough drafts of my work (including product reviews such as this one), which is wonderful, since perusing a printed copy -especially with multiple pages -is still easier than scrolling up-and-down a miniature screen.

The Sipix printer, as a watch-out, does have a tendency to drain four AA alkalines rather quickly. As a remedy, I''ve switched to the new AA size Energizer photo-lithium batteries, which cost a little more, but last many times longer.

With my Sipix A6 printer, I can now print Word files directly from my Palm -whenever and wherever I need it -which is truly a dream come true!

I am trying to resolve my issue for this printer with the seller and this is not intended to be feedback for them. It is however a substantial warning for anyone who needs to print from a PDA. This is not the product you need...I promise. The manufacturer has discontinued this printer as well as a host of other products. They will sell you paper for this printer. However, you need to having a working product before bothering to buy the paper. In the handbook that came with the printer, they claim you will be able to find a driver online but you will not. Sipix lists no phone numbers, technical help, or any other help source to solve the problems. Do yourself a favor and find another solution. If you find one for a reasonable cost, let me know. I truly need answers.

I bought this printer about a month ago, just because I thought it was so cute...however, once I got it I realised that it was a lot more than that. It is perfect for those moments where you would normally be using a pen and scraps of paper. I use it for work out on the field all the timeI get ideas on the ride, then print them out when I get there. It''s really a must-have if you''re constantly out of the office and don''t want to be banking on the fact that there''s a printer where you''re going.

When I was looking for a printer for my Toshiba e335 Pocket PC, I heard a lot of people who bought this printer had problems with their printer when their Pocket PC os was 2002. Well, I guess the company has fixed the problem because my printer works well with my pocket pc! My only complaint is that the printer is noisy and not quiet enough to use in a classroom setting when the room needs to be silent. A great buy!

Went thru the second 2500 page cartridge at only 3600 pages! Good quality prints and worry free printer so far but wondering the life of the drum could also be short.

Maybe 3rd party replacement cartridge might be cheaper.

I gave up trying to use new aftermarket color tonor as I cannot find a good brand that works consistently.

I finally gave up and went back to using overpriced OEM tonor, at least they do not make a mess out of my printer that is a nightmare to clean up, and they always print very nice.

Bought this toner cartridge on 01.08.13 and it was totally dead by 02.25.13--I only got 800 or less printed pages (impressions) from this cartridge, it''s suppose give you 2,500 impressions--there is something seriously wrong here.

Great quality black color. Works great with the Brother printer. Only drawback is the high price, wish it was cheaper

Lexmark X1240 Color All-in-One Inkjet Printer

  • Enjoy rich, detailed 48-bit full-color scanning
  • Prints up to 17 pages per minute
  • Enlarge scans up to 400 percent

My X1240 arrived in a week from Amazon. It included a USB cable and both the economy black and color ink cartridges. Using the included Software disc it didn''t work with my Windows Vista Laptop. So off to the Lexmark web site for the Vista Drivers. The upgrade drivers work fine. Full operation on printing, copying, and scanning. Even has a voice prompt announcing start and stop printing actions. The all in one center icon is a joy to use. Very easy to command the printer from the laptop. Print quality is adequate but not on par with the multi-tank printers. But perfectly adequate for quick printouts. I got tired of transferring documents to a memory stick or E-Mailing to my upstairs printer, the X1240 is a nice inexpensive add on to my laptop. Ink is expensive $60 for the twin pack (bought printer for $48 with free shipping)

I am on remote assignment for two years (111 miles from home). I have a company laptop but no printer unless I go to site office. I have a portable Canon C80 printer but the cost of the ink cartridges are over $50 for the colour and black.

The Lexmark X1240 was on sale at Target for $34 plus I had to buy a black cartridge ($17). I recommend the higher capacity cartridges are about $7-10 more.

Setup and running in 10 minutes. Scan and copied tests came out fine.

I purchased this printer off the Amazon web site, that was shipped from another store via Amazon, called Tiger Direct. The box reached me 3-4 days later, in perfect condition, The box contained instructions, a disc for software installation, the printer/scanner itself, the a/c adapter cord, and a color ink cartridge (you must by a black cartridge if you want one. Note: You must provide your own USB cord. I knew this already as most printers I have had required me to have my own, so I already had one ready from an older printer. Installation was quick, turn on your computer, remove the wrapping from the printer, plug it in, turn it on, add paper, add the ink cartridged and install software and your ready to go. This printer prints quickly, even with no black ink cartridge it does well for black text, colors and photos are superb, I have also used the copy and scan options and they came out great. For the price, this printer is awesome.

This printer works well enough, not good for printing photos but that''s not why I bought it anyway. It does print fairly slowly, not near as fast as my old HP that quit. The price was right! It bothers me that ink is SO expensive. That''s where we get gouged. It''s crazy that it''s cheaper to buy a new printer with ink, than to just buy new ink! Is some company coming out with quality ink at a reasonable price? I heard that 3M is?

Great value! Have no complaints and the price was very reasonable. Item was securely packed and delivered promptly. Very pleased! Would recommend as a best buy.

  • Stands vertically and horizontally.

I gave this stapler to an elderly lady that volunteers at my work. It was difficult for her to keep pushing on the regular stapler. I would suggest anyone buy a push button stapler if you suffer from arthritis or you have a lot of stapling to do! the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the stapler is a bit loud, but it gets the job done. Everything works as advertised, it''s a good purchase.

It staples effortlessly and rarely binds or misfires even thick packs of paper does not seem to create a problem. I purchased another one from Amazon for my office at work. I would not trade it for any other type of staplers on the market. I rated this five star because of its durability and ease of operation.
