I could write about how well this paper tray works, or the condition it is in, or how it arrived in a box. But that would take up a lot of your time. All you need to know is the item came, it works, and we are very happy with the process it took to receive it.

I had made many phone calls to HP and other links that they gave me to try. Their websites were impossible but I did manage to get the part number. It took me no time at all to find it on amazon and buy it. The drawer came fast and don''t have much problem with it. The screen tells me there is a paper jam when the paper tray gets too low. It''s lots better than the alternative. Thank you.

Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition Photo Printer

Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition Photo Printer
  • Premium 2.4-inch photo viewer for selecting and editing images
  • PC-free photo printing from all popular digital camera memory cards
  • Photos as brilliant and affordable as lab prints, but last 2-4 times longer
  • Water, smudge and fade-proof prints with up to 200-year album life
  • More photo options, including mini-wallets, fun Disney borders, and BorderFree

I''ve returned the HP375b printer for this one, and what an amazing printer. No more going to a photo lab or uploading to online photo labs, this 6 color ink printer produces stunning pictures everytime. I got a battery with this printer, and it is amazing how convenient it is to just take the printer and the camera whereever I want to be, then just sit and print. As they''ve indicated, the pictures are smudge and waterproof, making it easier to handle right after printing them. The 6 color ink cartridge is a single unit, and it is a cinch to change them when needed.

The printer has a USB port in the back that can be used to connect to a PC or other USB devices for backup or from which to read the pictures to print. I''ve never had the chance to backup the pictures from memory cards to a CD-writer, as my memory cards are at least 1GB each and have found the CD writers to be past its time. However, the printer did not have any problem reading from other USB flash cards or from my 60Gig portable hard drive. A support to write to a DVD writer would be a plus with possibly from next firmware release of this printer.

Only inconvenient thing the others may find is that the Pict Bridge connection is located on the back of the printer, rather than the front, where it is more convenient to handle the wires. I, however, found that it is more convenient to just take the memory card out of the camera and plug it into the printer cardreader.

I don''t like wires, and all my devices, including my laptops, are portable, so this printer is a great addition to my overall system. This is a must have item if you love taking pictures, and a battery is a must have accessory.

This product is incredible. I know photography, and I''m fussy about qualitythese pictures honestly look like they were professionally developed. Plus, with the new color screen on the delux model, it is SO easy to look through your pictures and decide which to print. It''s also incredibly easy to zoom in and crop the pictures before you print them! If you have a digital camera, you NEED this printer so that your pictures dont just sit in a folder on your computer, yet you dont have to go out to print them. A must buy!

I am an avid photographer who always and I guess still prefer to use film However, come to modern age, the digital medium has come a long way and in most cases replaced film in many aspects.

After buying my 7.1 Canon G6, I wanted to have something to print 4x6''s on just as I would have in the lab. I''m not all about keeping them on a disc and seeing it in my monitor. There''s something about holding the art in your hand and easily showing it to someone. Well, I sought to buy a printer to do only thatJob specific.

After reading various reviews, the Epson Picturemate Deluxe as well as it''s counterpart, the standard Picturemate (without the viewer)seemed to top most categories. I bought the deluxe version and was absolutely impressed.

This is really a great printer. I actually used it without connecting to the pc and it works like a charm. It does tend to cut more of the top and bottom than I would like, but that''s a 4x6 for ya. My camera takes great pics and it''s really nice to see all that resolution come to life.

I don''t have the battery for it, but will get it soon. I might want to take this baby with me on a trip. The viewer is great and it allows you to crop your image. So if your pic is being cut too much or more than you''d like, you can select crop and move it to allow more of the top or bottom. It also allows zooming which turned out great on many of my pics. Though, I did notice some degredation the more zoomed in I was which is understandable.

I still love film, but this digital business is quite the competitor, especially when your prints look like they came from a lab.

Another great thing Epson came up with is to sell the ink with the glossy paper. It high quality paper (100 sheets)and will last you about the length of the supply of ink. For me, it''s actually made 130 prints on one cartridge, though I think that''s unusual. I had to go buy the paper which was rather expensive, about 17 bucks for the same 4x6. Oh well...

I highly reccomend. I''ve used Epson in the past and am glad I went with it again. (...)

My wife had been nagging me to print out the thousands of digital pictures I have taken, so I figured I try this little thing out. I have a large format Epson as well as a couple of HP photosmarts, but as everyone who prints knows, it is a real hassle to fire them up and get prints. This little gadget easily and quickly makes 4x6''s better than I have ever seen, including the local photolab. Bright, clear, sharp, and glossy. Unlike the previous reviewer, I have had no problem printing right from my 1 gig sd card.

July 14, 2005: I was very excited about purchasing this printer for my 26,000 photo collection shot with my Canon 10D & 20D, however the unit Amazon shipped me had a bad yellow print head. I ran through all the manufacturer steps to clean the print heads but to no avail. I also got a pack of paper/ink and tried the other ink cartridge. Still no luck. 20 sheets of nozzle tests and no yellow after numerous head cleanings. The pictures I did print were very sharp and the paper had a nice shine but because of bad yellow print head, they were all bluish purple in appearance. Yuck! I have packed it up and will be shipping it back to Amazon for a replacement. I will report back if I get a working unit when Amazon sends out the replacement unit.

July 19, 2005: I sent back the unit on July 15, 2005 via an Amazon directed UPS pickup and they are now showing they have received the defective unit and shipping next day saver the replacement unit at no cost. It''s nice they are shipping a new unit next day but they could have used a faster shipping method to retrieve it. I am a Prime member.

July 20, 2005: The replacement printer is here! I immediately unboxed it and ran the nozzle print test. All 6 colors showed up. I was happy! Then I hooked it up to my Mac that had the previous printer driver install and became frustrated. It would not print and claimed it couldn''t communicate with the printer. I tried two different USB cables (the printer does not come with one). Both failed. ARGH! I was seriously scratching my head wondering if I got another bum printer. Then I said "What the heck" and uninstalled the printer drivers and reinstalled them. Walla! Working PictureMate and boy does it work! The print outs are beautiful whether from iPhoto or Photoshop. So much nicer than the ink jet 4x6s from my Canon S900 using the special high end Canon Photo Pro Glossy -much cheaper too. I printed out 20 photos which took about 30 minutes (its not a speed demon) and compared them to photolab prints of the same photos. They compare nicely if not better. The paper feels firm and the colors are bright.

All in all, I feel satisfied with my purchase now that I have a working unit. Amazon handled the return of the defective printer in a timely manner even though I was a little impatient for my new camera toy. For some reason I cannot change the "Star" rating of my review. I would now bring it up to 5. This is a recommended purchase.

Epson Stylus CX3810 All In One

Epson Stylus CX3810 All In One
  • Produces borderFree photos in popular frame-ready sizes
  • Speeds through black text up to 18 PPM and color up to 9 ppm
  • Restores old faded color photos
  • PC-free black and white or color copying
  • Convenient individual ink cartridges

Excellent value. Prints, copies, flatbed scans as expected. Uniquely prints photos that are smug and water resistant. No other multi-function manufacturer offers that.

Well engineered. Smooth and easy setup. Photos are excellent for a multi-function, nearly as good as my Epson Picturemate.

I thought about buying the more expensive Epson CX5800F because it offers fax. I seldom use fax so instead I''ll just scan in the document, then either email or use internet fax.

My only knock is that this is marketed under the overloaded term "All in one" so I guess that makes the CX5800F an "All-er in one". It would be so much clearer if the industry adopted acronyms like PSC or PSCF to clearly distinguish major functions at a glance.

Good printer for the money, but it is not true when you say "All in one printer" this term we use with printers that can do

1. Print

2. Copy

3. Scan

4. Fax

This printer does 1st 3 so I might call it "Almost All in one printer", I mean EPSON could have add a small modem port while putting all this scanning and printing hardware, I am sure it would cost less then a $1 to EPOSN giving the margin of being printer manufacturing giant of the world.

Printer is fast but not fast enough as its peers like Canon, also printing speed mentioned in the book must be "Draft" printing speed otherwise if you could have more then one regular page in 30sec you might be printing a triangle or a single phrase per page :)

okay lets talk about quality, I gave it 5/5 period, for a dirt cheap printer (I got it for $30 from Staples.com) it does meet or exceed any expectation you might have for a printer in this category.

Scanning is good but software should have little more options but copy function is a killer, just press color or B/W button from the printer (whatever type of copy you need) and boom, you got a copy in less then a minute while sitting on your desk and without truing on the computer, cool isn''t it? No more going to store for a stupid 5 cent copy and waste of 1/2 gallon of gas; not to mention the time wasted (on invested).

Complete waste of Ink as all EPOSN printers are; it does a little version of head cleaning every time you turn it on, better keep it on to save the ink, use only 3 Watts in sleep mode since Epson Stylus CX3810 has earned the ENERGY STAR® by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Remember printer manufacturers make money from the sales of ink cartridges not printer so these suckers drink ink faster then your fish drink water. (this cliché seems little far fetched huh?)

this printer use Durabrite ink but I don''t :) , I use compatible dye based ink cartridges from eBay; ¼ the price and does the trick as per my requirements, shhhhhhh..... don''t tell EPSON!!!

I mean come on; get serious here, why should I pay 4 times more for a ink that last 80 year? I am sure I might not last that long myself :) you know I am not maintaining historical archive for the library of congress using this printer :)

I use it for my every day work and most of my print out heading towards garbage bin after I am done with them; in some cases they go out to postal mail where I am sure I don''t need them for next 80 years.

For Photo printing I always use 6 colors printing where as this printer has 4 basic colors so detail in photos are not that "detail" but again not bad either, if you print photos on good quality photo papers they came out as "keepers".

Just bought and installed it , installation was a breeze. Ran my first print , good print results and extremetly quiet while printing.

Scanned a picture and it scanned perfect with great results but it was bit slow and the software lets you save in various formats like PDF JPEG TIFF.

Love the single button copy feature but a bit slow though. Can''t expect more for that price.

Overall 5 stars, just wish the inks were a bit cheaper. Very happy with my purchase.

I got this for $40 at Staples after rebates. My HP just died, and I needed something quick. For that money, it''s a bargain. But you get what you pay for.

PROS Inexpensive AIO

CONS Stand-alone copier is disappointing, printing is a bit slow

Printer Works fine, but quite slow

Scanner Works fine

Photo printer No experience

Ink Uses 4 catridges, a plus. The cartridges are easy to load, and the software monitors ink level, that''s nice.

Installation Follow the instructions on the included "Getting Started" poster. Takes about 15 minutes at most.

Stand-alone copier Useless. If you want 5 copies, you have to press the "Start" button 5 times!

DOS Since it doesn''t support PCL, printing in DOS may be difficult.

As a second printer, or for a dorm room, this printer is a bargain. As a day to day work-horse, look elsewhere.

BOTTOM LINE The printer is worth $40, but doesn''t meet MY needs. I knew it wouldn''t, but as I said I needed somehing to replace my dead HP real fast.

Works well. It prints how I expected it to for a low priced printer. I picked it up at a local Staples for $59.95 after rebates and it does everything I wanted it to. I love having the scanner and with seperate inks, it saves me a lot of money on refills. I liked the software that came with it and it is easy to use to me. Epson is a great company and this is a great printer.

My HP DeskJet 870cxi died last month, and I replaced it with the Photosmart 1115, which I wanted to use with a Dell desktop (XP Pro) and an Apple iBook (OS 10.2.1).

The only nice thing I can say about this printer is that it prints beautiful photos on photo paper. Printing anything else is a lesson in frustration.

Printing a color web page with this printer is SLOW...it seems much slower than my old DeskJet. Second, I get frequent paper jams when printing on plain paper, and especially when printing envelopes. The printer jams when printing photos on 6 x 4.5" photo paper that came with it. When I print documents on plain paper, I also occasionally get these cryptic error codes, and my document stops printing halfway through the job, leaving the paper stuck in the printer.

The printer also comes with a CompactFlash and SD readers built in. It''s pretty cool to insert a Compact Flash or Secure Digital card from a digital camera and print an index sheet right from the printer. However, my XP desktop won''t recognize the cards from the printer. It says that there is no card inserted. Frequent e-mails to HP tech support have not been helpful they say the card is faulty (it works fine in my camera and my Lexar card reader, however).

Mac support is suprisingly lousy, because HP has been pretty good to the Mac in the past. I had to wait a month until HP released drivers for Mac OS 10.2.1 (Jaguar). The Mac drivers have the same problem the XP ones do: I can only print with the drivers; reading CF & SD cards with the printer doesn''t work.

I have had many HP printers in the past and have had no problems with them. I think HP struck out with this dud.

I have used this printer for the last two years, though it has not been heavily used. It has completely broken down, will not acknowledge that it has paper, and the "carriage" is broken. It will not feed anything through and constantly has paper jams. I have been told by repair specialists that it will cost several hundred dollars to fix it because the "carriage" is so expensive. Though it does print beautiful photos, I am very disappointed with this product''s performance over time!

The HP Photosmart 1115 is very good. I haven''t had any problems

with it. I have printed many 8.5 by 11 photos with crisp color.

The picture is only as good as the photographer. If you did not

take a clear picture, then do''t expect a miracle from Photosmart.

I would recommend it to anyone. It does a beautiful job. That is

correct to with the print cartridges, both last a good while.

I had printed many photos before I had to change it. So there

you have it. Photosmart is reasonably priced and easy to use.

Just brilliant color quality and great B&W.

When using photo paper you cannot see any pixelation! It''s like having your own printing lab.

Unlike my many epson printers in the past, there is also no degradation in quality over time (8 mths.)

The one problem I had was that the printing unit inside was stuck when it arrived. It made an awful grinding sound when it tried to start up, so I had to call support (not toll free!!). They explained that I had to apply pressure to a certain area to free the unit. It was all a bit stressful and it eventually worked and I have had no problems since.

The ink cartridges seem to last way longer than my epson ones did in the past. Just recently changed both (8 mths) with fairly regular use. I probably printed 50+ 4x6 glossies.

I have not seen or tried any of the newer epsons, they may be be comparable in all respects. I have my doubts though.

...it worked flawlessly on my XP OS.

They sold me busted reams of paper, which I would have overlooked if it wasn''t for the fact that one of the reams did not even have it''s wrapping and the exposed sheets had footprints all over them.

I did contact the company first to avoid giving them a bad review. And they did say they were going to do something about it, but nothing was ever done.

Not sure how you can review a paper, but I need to use 24 lb legal paper once in a while (office supply stores only carry the thinner 20 lb paper now, and that paper has a lower brightness rating). Heavy legal size paper used to be standard, but now it has gotten a bit hard to find. This paper is nicely packaged, (as is all paper these days). It has a nice brightness and a smooth feel to the sheets. It met my needs just fine, and it arrived with the paper packages in good shape.

The number turns out to be Ethics Hotline which investigates items sold outside Staples. Now after printing just a few hundred pages, the toner is out of ink. Hence paying $27 means I purchased product which was not as advertised and probably it was a display item for in-store use. Hence it is out of ink.

This is my follow-up feedback.

I''m a seminary student at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. We write many many papers for our classes. I needed a laser printer as my old HP LaserJet 1100, which in "computer years" was 100 years old, was about to give up the ghost.

But I really wanted color because I''m a visual learner and utilize charts and other colorful tools for my Greek and Hebrew and other classes. And, note that from a "cost-per-page" standpoint, lasers just about always beat inkjets, sometimes significantly.

Enter the HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw. I first spotted it at an Office supply store. It has a relatively small footprint compared to the other models. I looked at reviews here on Amazon and found that the only real problem with this printer is speed. And for me, that is not a problem at all. Also, some folks suggest this unit is not a great photo printer, and I would agree with that as far as it goes. But please note that generally speaking, Laser Printers are not interested in being the best at photo printing. **This is a document printer.** That means photos in docs are going to look great. If you want to print photos and then frame them, get an inkjet.

Print quality is excellent, on par with the higher dollar color lasers. Wireless setup is okay, although I really wish these manufacturers would ditch the intrusive software installs. There are workarounds for this and once you get the printer''s IP address set, you can run the whole thing via the built in Web server, just create a TCP/IP port on your PC or Mac, and just use the barebones driver. The built in Web server is great for checking toner status, etc., and won''t slow down your computer with a bunch of software overhead.

I agree that speed was clearly not an objective of the designers of this printer. If you need fast, you are going to need to spend more.

However, it seems HP''s objective was to bring a color laser printer to market that is less than $200 and still prints great...and in that regard they have succeeded very well! If you are someone who wants to print great looking documents that will cost much less than printing them on an inkjet (and look much better than those printed on an inkjet), then this printer is for you.

I''m quite blessed (and very thankful) to own mine.

Buy HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Color Printer (CE914A) Now

Our family has been using the CP1025nw for nearly two months now and so far it has printed flawlessly. The size and price of color lasers have come down to the point where they are viable alternatives to color ink jets. We finally got fed up with our relatively new ink jet due to clogged print heads, streaking, wet smears, wrinkled paper and poor color saturation esp. when the kids were attempting (unsuccessfully) to print their homework assignments at the last minute before rushing off to school.

When it comes to care free operation with sharp, clean edges on text and line drawings, this laser performs far better then any ink jet we have used. The toner lasts and lasts (but it is also more costly to replace). The B&W dpi is 600x600 and the color dpi is 2400 but not quite photo quality. It''s perfectly acceptable for one-off school projects, web printing and low-volume runs of color newsletters, announcements and small-business marketing materials where color accuracy isn''t a top concern.

I really like the manually-assisted two-sided printing feature on plain paper without breed through. To do 2-sided printing, just indicate that you want "Eco-print" in the Printer Preferences and the printer will automatically print all the odd pages, then pause. You just have to take the printed pages from the output tray and insert them into the input tray, then press the resume key and it will print the even pages on the back-side of the odd pages.

This LaserJet is so small (even smaller than our ink jet) that it fits nicely out-of-sight inside a wooden cabinet only 18" deep and 13" high. Our cabinet has a door that protects the printer from dust and keeps the noise down to nearly inaudible levels. And, the wireless capability provides much greater flexibility in location placement, (such as in our cabinet far from any computers). It also supports AirPrint (from Apple iOS devices) and ePrint (via e-mail) with a firmware upgrade. ePrint requires outbound TCP port 5223 (or 5222) to be opened on your internet firewall. The printer does not support Print Apps because there is no LCD panel to display the app''s UI.

This is not a replacement for a photo quality printer. While the colors are very saturated, its color gamut range is too limited and a bit dark in default mode. Both highlight and shadow details are lost and there are some color shifts that can make photos look somewhat unnatural. If you need high color accuracy, a dye-sublimation type printer may be a better choice. But, you can get near photo-quality results if you select the right paper type in your Printing Preferences and select the Color Theme of "photo" under the Color tab. You can even fine tune the individual color densities manually if you like. (We''ve only printed from Windows PCs thus far.)

The fuser is a bit underpowered for heavier papers unless you tell the printer you are using heavier stock in the Printing Preferences, (select "Card Stock" or "Label Printing" for example). When you do this, the printer will then run the paper through at a lower rate allowing the fuser more time to melt the toner into the page.

Conclusion: If you are looking to replace your unreliable ink jet with a small, low cost, low maintenance color printer for personal use, this HP Color LaserJet CP1025nw will perform very well. Just don''t expect a high-speed, heavy-duty, photo-quality printer in this price range. And, take a little time to get familiar with the Printer Preferences for special jobs such as photos and labels.

I bought the CP1025nw in early December. I use a MacBook (which runs OS 10.5.8) with Airport and a Cisco Linksys broadband G router.

I used the CD provided for installation and found it to be a straightforward process with no bloatware. There was one complicated step when I had to create a print queue, but I figured it out on my own: not HP''s fault. The wireless set up works well from any point in my apartment (max. 30 feet or so from the printer.)

I print relatively infrequently (maybe a few pages each day) so I didn''t want an inkjet whose nozzles would dry up. This laser printer has good color, a fast response time and print time. Black and white text looks especially good. As with any color printer, the paper you use affects print quality as much as the printer itself.

I have not had to change a toner cartridge but expect no difficulties if I follow the instructions provided.

I also need to connect the printer to my HP Pavilion a1110n desktop which runs Ubuntu 10.04. Although hplip.com is supposed to provide drivers for this, the site has been down for over a month, so I have no idea how easy or hard that install is going to be when (if?!) HP gets the site up again.

Overall, straightforward set up, strong wireless connectivity and decent printing results. The jury is still out on replacing toner (how soon will I have to do it and how easy will it be?), on using with Linux and on getting over my annoyance that a full manual is not provided with the printer.

I purchased this product based on some good reviews and great pricing. After getting it home and reading more reviews, I begin to have second thoughts. There were compliants about speed and wireless printing. I acutally started to take it back. However, I decided to set it up. Set up was easy using the installation CD. You really didn''t need to read additional directions. After everything was installed, I printed a book cover and a logo. The pictures were absolutely beautiful and seemed to print quite quickly. Also, this relatively small printer fits nicely in a living room area that may be set up with a computer.I did not yet test for wireless printing. What I can say is, don''t beleive the megative press. Try it for yourself. I did and am quite happy.

The printer was wonderfully easy to set up and it''s very small. The drawback, however, is that printing from either InDesign or Photoshop (on a Mac) results in really dark prints. Not "kinda dark" but too dark to be usable. Yesterday, I spent about a half-hour on the phone with HP tech support. After telling me "it''s not a photo printer so don''t expect much" we tried a number of different advanced settings in Photoshop to no avail. The quality of the prints--once I lightened them up substantially using Photoshop--is great. But I can''t "fix" everything by hand to accommodate the printer. InDesign, same story. There is no printer profile available for this printer; according to the tech support guy at HP, he didn''t expect one to be developed either. And it''s not just Adobe products--printing from Firefox results in dark prints too.

So, it''s a problem. It''s a shame, since otherwise it''s a great little printer.

Epson no longer makes this type of roll photo paper (4 inch by 25 feet). When printing 4X6 prints, using the roll paper waists less ink. Epson claims that the reason they discontinued this item was because users complained about the curvature of the finished print. These prints can be flattened out.

I will not do 4X6 prints after all of this stock is gone.
