Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition Photo Printer

Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition Photo Printer
  • Premium 2.4-inch photo viewer for selecting and editing images
  • PC-free photo printing from all popular digital camera memory cards
  • Photos as brilliant and affordable as lab prints, but last 2-4 times longer
  • Water, smudge and fade-proof prints with up to 200-year album life
  • More photo options, including mini-wallets, fun Disney borders, and BorderFree

I''ve returned the HP375b printer for this one, and what an amazing printer. No more going to a photo lab or uploading to online photo labs, this 6 color ink printer produces stunning pictures everytime. I got a battery with this printer, and it is amazing how convenient it is to just take the printer and the camera whereever I want to be, then just sit and print. As they''ve indicated, the pictures are smudge and waterproof, making it easier to handle right after printing them. The 6 color ink cartridge is a single unit, and it is a cinch to change them when needed.

The printer has a USB port in the back that can be used to connect to a PC or other USB devices for backup or from which to read the pictures to print. I''ve never had the chance to backup the pictures from memory cards to a CD-writer, as my memory cards are at least 1GB each and have found the CD writers to be past its time. However, the printer did not have any problem reading from other USB flash cards or from my 60Gig portable hard drive. A support to write to a DVD writer would be a plus with possibly from next firmware release of this printer.

Only inconvenient thing the others may find is that the Pict Bridge connection is located on the back of the printer, rather than the front, where it is more convenient to handle the wires. I, however, found that it is more convenient to just take the memory card out of the camera and plug it into the printer cardreader.

I don''t like wires, and all my devices, including my laptops, are portable, so this printer is a great addition to my overall system. This is a must have item if you love taking pictures, and a battery is a must have accessory.

This product is incredible. I know photography, and I''m fussy about qualitythese pictures honestly look like they were professionally developed. Plus, with the new color screen on the delux model, it is SO easy to look through your pictures and decide which to print. It''s also incredibly easy to zoom in and crop the pictures before you print them! If you have a digital camera, you NEED this printer so that your pictures dont just sit in a folder on your computer, yet you dont have to go out to print them. A must buy!

I am an avid photographer who always and I guess still prefer to use film However, come to modern age, the digital medium has come a long way and in most cases replaced film in many aspects.

After buying my 7.1 Canon G6, I wanted to have something to print 4x6''s on just as I would have in the lab. I''m not all about keeping them on a disc and seeing it in my monitor. There''s something about holding the art in your hand and easily showing it to someone. Well, I sought to buy a printer to do only thatJob specific.

After reading various reviews, the Epson Picturemate Deluxe as well as it''s counterpart, the standard Picturemate (without the viewer)seemed to top most categories. I bought the deluxe version and was absolutely impressed.

This is really a great printer. I actually used it without connecting to the pc and it works like a charm. It does tend to cut more of the top and bottom than I would like, but that''s a 4x6 for ya. My camera takes great pics and it''s really nice to see all that resolution come to life.

I don''t have the battery for it, but will get it soon. I might want to take this baby with me on a trip. The viewer is great and it allows you to crop your image. So if your pic is being cut too much or more than you''d like, you can select crop and move it to allow more of the top or bottom. It also allows zooming which turned out great on many of my pics. Though, I did notice some degredation the more zoomed in I was which is understandable.

I still love film, but this digital business is quite the competitor, especially when your prints look like they came from a lab.

Another great thing Epson came up with is to sell the ink with the glossy paper. It high quality paper (100 sheets)and will last you about the length of the supply of ink. For me, it''s actually made 130 prints on one cartridge, though I think that''s unusual. I had to go buy the paper which was rather expensive, about 17 bucks for the same 4x6. Oh well...

I highly reccomend. I''ve used Epson in the past and am glad I went with it again. (...)

My wife had been nagging me to print out the thousands of digital pictures I have taken, so I figured I try this little thing out. I have a large format Epson as well as a couple of HP photosmarts, but as everyone who prints knows, it is a real hassle to fire them up and get prints. This little gadget easily and quickly makes 4x6''s better than I have ever seen, including the local photolab. Bright, clear, sharp, and glossy. Unlike the previous reviewer, I have had no problem printing right from my 1 gig sd card.

July 14, 2005: I was very excited about purchasing this printer for my 26,000 photo collection shot with my Canon 10D & 20D, however the unit Amazon shipped me had a bad yellow print head. I ran through all the manufacturer steps to clean the print heads but to no avail. I also got a pack of paper/ink and tried the other ink cartridge. Still no luck. 20 sheets of nozzle tests and no yellow after numerous head cleanings. The pictures I did print were very sharp and the paper had a nice shine but because of bad yellow print head, they were all bluish purple in appearance. Yuck! I have packed it up and will be shipping it back to Amazon for a replacement. I will report back if I get a working unit when Amazon sends out the replacement unit.

July 19, 2005: I sent back the unit on July 15, 2005 via an Amazon directed UPS pickup and they are now showing they have received the defective unit and shipping next day saver the replacement unit at no cost. It''s nice they are shipping a new unit next day but they could have used a faster shipping method to retrieve it. I am a Prime member.

July 20, 2005: The replacement printer is here! I immediately unboxed it and ran the nozzle print test. All 6 colors showed up. I was happy! Then I hooked it up to my Mac that had the previous printer driver install and became frustrated. It would not print and claimed it couldn''t communicate with the printer. I tried two different USB cables (the printer does not come with one). Both failed. ARGH! I was seriously scratching my head wondering if I got another bum printer. Then I said "What the heck" and uninstalled the printer drivers and reinstalled them. Walla! Working PictureMate and boy does it work! The print outs are beautiful whether from iPhoto or Photoshop. So much nicer than the ink jet 4x6s from my Canon S900 using the special high end Canon Photo Pro Glossy -much cheaper too. I printed out 20 photos which took about 30 minutes (its not a speed demon) and compared them to photolab prints of the same photos. They compare nicely if not better. The paper feels firm and the colors are bright.

All in all, I feel satisfied with my purchase now that I have a working unit. Amazon handled the return of the defective printer in a timely manner even though I was a little impatient for my new camera toy. For some reason I cannot change the "Star" rating of my review. I would now bring it up to 5. This is a recommended purchase.

6 Roll of 250 4x6 Direct Thermal Zebra 2844 Zebra 2843 2844z Labels Eltron

6 Roll of 250 4x6 Direct Thermal Zebra 2844 Zebra 2843 2844z Labels Eltron
  • We manufacture our own labels.
  • Our labels are cut fresh daily and stock is continually renewed.
  • We use premium material for ALL our labels.
  • Our labels are peel and stick labels.

I''ve used many labels from different sources and occasionally lose a label here and there, but with these labels, the printer practically jams on every label I print. Initially I thought it was my printer getting old, but then after these labels quickly ran out (at least 70% went in the recycle bin), I used one of the normal ones I''ve always used and I honestly do not remember having a single jam so far. So you might save a penny here but lose a dollar down the line.

I read the one review on these labels and was afraid to get too many rolls if they did the same for me. So I got 2 rolls, and have had no trouble with them jamming at all. They are definitely not high quality, but you get what you pay for. I would definitely order again.

I have been through 6 of these rolls and never had a jamming issue on my LP 2844. The labels are good and stick fairly well to cardboard boxes. I can peel them off the boxes without tearing, so I guess they aren''t super sticky. But I''ve never had a problem of them coming off during shipping.

I believe the "2005" in the specs means these labels were MANUFACTURED in 2005, which is why they print so poorly/spotty and don''t stay stuck well. I quit using them because I wasn''t sure they printed well enough for the post office to scan. And I worried maybe they would catch on something and the label just peel off. I bought them cause they shipped from nearby CA, and I put them right to work. But I found myself handinking in the bar code in spots on many labels! Not good if you print 30 labels+/day.

Labels I got from NY (directly from a manufacturer bought off Amazon) made me realize the problem was the "2005" labels, not the printer. The new NY labels were actually slightly less expensive for the same 6 roll quantity.

5 of the 6 rolls from this order will remain in a drawer, unless some emergency and I run out of good labels. I would have given them a 2-star for quality, or 1-star, for deception, but I thought that would be rude.

Jean

I work in a distribution center and normally get our labels from UPS but we ran out this year due to the Xmas rush and we needed some in a pinch. This review will focus on the pros and cons vs the UPS labels for those of you who may use both.

-These aren''t as thick as the UPS labels which makes them a little flimsy and harder to tear. The paper feels much thinner and it takes a little more effort to tear them apart. That''s not to say they rip or anything, they''re just thinner. Some people may like this.

The rolls are smaller than the UPS rolls. UPS rolls bring 320 labels per roll I believe and these have 250. No big deal just consider this when calculating the price per label.

The core is smaller than the UPS rolls. This makes putting them in the printer a little trickier. You have to line it up just right compared to the bigger cores which just pop in. We use the Zebra 450; some other printers probably have different insides so your experience will probably be different.

-They come wrapped in plastic (The UPS ones don''t).

-The tape at the end of each roll is a nice small strip compared to the gigantic sticker the UPS ones bring. This is great because you don''t have to waste the first label.

-If you can get them Prime, the shipping is free. UPS ships them free too.

Overall a decent label. I still prefer the UPS ones but if we run out and need some overnighted I wouldn''t hesitate to use these again. We purchased ours from "FantasyBuy" no idea if the other sellers are sending the same labels I''ve reviewed. I know with products like these there can be variability amongst the sellers.

Inkpress Watercolor Linen, Texture Matte Archival Cotton Rag Inkjet Paper

Inkpress Watercolor Linen, Texture Matte Archival Cotton Rag Inkjet Paper, 15mil., 250gsm, 8x10'', 25 Sheets.I decided to try this paper to print (Canon Pro9000 MkII using Canon CLI-8 inks) portraits for framing as Christmas gifts. The results were simply beautiful.....amazing. The printing side provides the perfect surface to show off your best color and black & white images. The texture is pronounced, but incorporates into the image without distracting from it. It''s a rare quality in a paper, and well worth the price. Try it....you''ll be delighted.

HP Photosmart C5580 Printer

HP Photosmart C5580 PrinterThis printer has worked very well for us! We haven''t had any mechanical problems with it. Uses Ink very sparingly and the images it prints on printable CD''s and DVD''s is excellent. This is actually better than the newer version that is black, simply because the new one doesn''t print on CD''s or DVD''s like this version.HP Photosmart C5580 Printer

I agree with others that the hp software sucks, but you can let windows install drivers so you don''t have to deal with it. Or uninstall the unwanted software. Functionality wise I haven''t had any issues, and I''ve had the printer for two years now. I use the sd card slot a lot and like being able to print pictures or documents off that.

What a piece of junk. I had to return the first one that I bought. It had some kind of malfunction. The software that comes with it is really invasive. It doesn''t work well and is constantly updating for unknown reasons. The paper jams always and the dvd printing is really difficult. The software for dvd printing is ridiculous, redundant, and counter-intuitive. Stay away from this device!

This is an awesome printer. I wore the first one out (use at work) and had to go online to find a second one. The ink use is acceptable. The only issue with this is the software. It just takes too long to load and needed several tries to get the load to finish. If my second one wears out, I hope I will find another.

Mead Press-It Seal-It #10 White Envelopes

Mead Press-It Seal-It #10 White Envelopes, 50 Count
  • Self-adhesive seal
  • 50 per box
  • Size = #10

These envelopes are fine as envelopes go, just be aware that if you are looking for actual security envelopes, as these are described, these are not your way to go. These are just plain white envelopes with no sort of security whatsoever.

Buy Mead Press-It Seal-It #10 White Envelopes Now

I had another (store) brand of self sealing envelopes before these and assumed these Mead envelopes would be the same. I was wrong. These are made of thiner paper making it feel cheaper and making me concerned whether the seams would hold when more than a couple pages were inserted. Also, many of the envelopes were crinkled up in the corners already. I don''t know if this is a manufacturing defect or damage from shipping. But I was disappointed. Only reason they are getting 2 stars are the price (cheap, but you get what you pay for) and the self adhesive strips work well.

These envelopes are alright for enveloping papers. However, they are very thin and you can see the text on papers through the envelope.

Want Mead Press-It Seal-It #10 White Envelopes Discount?

So it is obviously better then licking envelopes all day.

The problem with this one is that the "press-it seal-it" does not go all the way to corners, and tends to leave them sticking up.

I had to tape the corners down.

These envelopes are made from very thin paper. You can easily read printed text through the paper. The envelopes are also folded differently than standard envelopes and the sides of the opening stick up when more than a couple sheets of paper are put inside, making it difficult to seal.

530-SHEET 2ND Paper Tray

We had this tray for about two weeks; typically all printing is double-sided to save paper. Have had the Oki C530dn for several years with zero problems doing duplex until we added the second paper tray, then paper jams became common. Soon after, we returned it (the return went smoothly, as usual).

Installation of the unit is simple -just place the printer on it and you''re done -so if you do no or very little duplexing it''s a great addition. However, if you''re a regular duplexer, I would recommend you avoid it.

I tried out two units and had to return them both for poor quality printouts. The first unit arrived with toner (all the colors) that had leaked inside the printer. The printouts had two very light lines in the same place on all the colors. With the toner leak, I assumed that the printer was probably damaged during shipping; so I returned it and asked for a replacement. The replacement arrived with a broken tray that feeds the paper into the scanner. Since the tray is a separate piece that connects to the printer, I figured it could be replaced separately. So, I tried printing and found that the printouts had light and dark lines. The lines were not as distinct as the printouts in the first unit, but they were visible from across the room.

Still learning all about the machine, as it took awhile to get help setting it up where it belonged. So far it prints very well and fast, Size is smaller than some of this type they have a helpful video to show how to replace toner cartridges. I feel it will work nicely in my office and the paper tray is sturdy.

Amazon fedexed the machine to me very quickly, and have been prompt with any other purchases or questions I have had like buying my Kindle and books purchased. This item was so well packaged that it took two of us to remove from box, a plus for protection. Instructions were easy to understand and setup was a breeze on my mac. Very quiet, prints fast, and very configurable . Two paper trays make adding paper less of a worry now. This unit can handle up to legal size and ledger size paper with ease, but also handles 4x6 photo paper and envelopes with no problems.

Touchscreen is very responsive and connecting via wireless was so easy. Photos are printed and look good, but you will want to tweak the settings for optimal end results.

Software is great and integrates in a mac well. I tried the software on my friends PC and again, easy and simple. The back of the unit has a manual feed for 1 sheet at a time and all paper sizes can be used.

I have read people saying the trays were weak, but I do not find that issue at all. This is built much better than any Epson, HP, or Canon I have owed. A plus is how sharp and attractive it looks on your desktop. Airprint via iphone or android is a piece of cake and works well. I am finding it does not eat ink and if you feel you need to re-allign the heads or clean the print heads that process is finishes in record time. I have mine set to sleep after 1 hour and I never hear any noise coming from my printer. Buy this excellent printer and enjoy more desktop space and ease of operation. Kudos to you Brother!

HP ScanJet 8290 Duplex Document Scanner

HP ScanJet 8290 Duplex Document Scanner
  • 8.5-by-14-inch flatbed scanner
  • 4,800 x 4,800 dpi optical resolution, 48-bit color
  • 50-sheet automatic document feeder
  • PC and Mac compatible
  • Hi-Speed USB and SCSI connectivity

Don''t believe HP''s claim that the 8290 is "network ready". I was disappointed to learn, after I purchased mine, that the scanner cannot be accessed over our network, because our operating system is not NT4. If you use Win98, Win2000, or WinXP, forget the network feature.

Other than that bit of false advertising, I have no complaints. The hardware and software work smoothly and efficiently, and the 25 pages per minute claim is achievable, but only when scanning to a file, which is the best procedure anyway.

Buy HP ScanJet 8290 Duplex Document Scanner Now

I recently purchased my HP scanner from an online discount house. Unfortunately, the scanner arrived without software or a printed User Manual. However, rather than get upset, I decided to assemble the scanner (which took 1 minute). I then went to the HP website and immediately found and downloaded the software & device drivers. After installation, I attahed the USB cable, plugged in the power cord and, after a few seconds I was scanning documents at blazing speed. I was even more impressed because I am using a rather outdated PC running Windows XP with 512M RAM. Yet the scanner runs flawlessly, and the document feeder NEVER jams which a very important consideration. I am thrilled with this HP product. The software could be a bit more user friendly, so I will only give it 4 stars.

I don''t usually write product reviews, but I was very confused when researching scanners on the internet. Concerning scanners, there are a lot of conflicting user reviews and I wanted to report my experience with this particular product to balance out the negative reports from others.

When it works, it''s pretty good...but the ADF jams a LOT, and it accidentally grabs two pages instead of one a LOT. Finally, the scans are a little washed out/overexposed. I must believe there is a better product out there, even if it''s $2000...

Want HP ScanJet 8290 Duplex Document Scanner Discount?

Have been using scanner for office for about a year, automatic paper feeder jams quite often, and most annoyingly tends to pull the paper into the feeder mechanism when it jams, even if paper had already passed through, apparently attempting duplex scan. Duplex scanning itself cannot be set from computer but rather have to push button on scanner. Other than jamming and pulling multiple pages at once, has worked reasonably well. We are scanning papers that had been given to clients to fill out and are not pristine condition.

I was using an HP ScanJet 8250 at work and decided to buy one for use at home. I looked around and found a good deal on an HP ScanJet 8290 and wound up buying it. I had looked for a sheetfed scanner with a duplexer before and could not afford one. After using the 8250 at work and liking it, I decided to give this one a try.

I bought it and had no problems installing it on a new laptop loaded with Windows Vista after downloading the appropriate drivers from the HP website. Once I installed the software and connected the scanner I was in for a surprise. The 8250 is rated at 15 ppm and this one is rated at 25 ppm. The 8290 not only scans much faster but, the three hole punched papers that choked the 8250 fed through the 8290 without a hitch. I''ve had this scanner for a few weeks now and have only had it jam less than half a dozen times and I scan old publications that have been hole punched multiple times, stapled and or dog eared and this scanner feds them without a problem.

All in all, I''m completely satisfied with this scanner and would recommend it for general office use.

Canon pushes this fancy cartridge a lot for photo printing. It really doesn''t seem to make much difference with the BJC-6000 I have, but the photos still look slightly better with it. If you don''t want to spend your money on extra ink, don''t buy this. The price is reasonable, and good if you print a lot of photos as the printer has more colors to pick from. Do use a good paper like the canon High Resolution Paper or the Glossy Photo Paper no matter what cartridges you use for printing photos.

I bought three packs of these to work as gift recipe cards for the holidays and using MS Publisher. In Publisher 2007 it is a little tricky finding the place to put in the avery card code (3380), but once you do it, these are a sheer delight to use. The texture is finer and nicer than the plain glossy cards and just feels more formal--perfect for wedding "save the date" and "RSVP" cards! In publisher, I did find my printer did not want to do two sided printing from the same document; easily fixed by creating two files, one for each side, and then flipping the cards for each document. Just a quirk of 2 sided printing.

This cards are EXACTLY standard USPS postcard size; no extra postage to send one. Once you print your cards out on one or both sides, it''s very easy to separate them, even stacked four or five sheets at a time!

These came out so well, I cannot wait to mail them out as my creative holiday gift to my friends and family! Great quality!

I used these to make my "enclosure" cards for my wedding invitations. The matte finish makes them appear a little more professional, and the Microsoft Office add-in was easy to use to make sure I got the size right. They also included a "sample" page so you could do a test print without messing up any of your actual cards. Very easy to print duplex style, as well. These would be a great way to do RSVP "postcards" if you''d like to print the typical RSVP info on one side, then print your return information on the other, throw on a (cheaper) postcard stamp and off they go into the invitation!!

I would have rated this high except for one major issue. It is not what it says it is. The item is advertised as POSTCARDS and heavyweight. That is what I expected. However, the paper is thin and bends easily, unlike "postcard" material. I found it flimsy for mailing. The material is more like those magazine insert mailing forms; thin, bendable, easily rips, etc. It has a nice texture, might be good for artwork, receipe cards, cut well, prints nice, and states that it meets US Postal Regs. However, not at all what I wanted.

These are great! I make Word documents for postcards and simply print them. I have not had one problem with printing or separating the cards. I was worried the edges would look bad when split apart but they are clean cut and very easy to split into 4. I will buy more in the future. Shipping did take a long time.

I have worked with the Avery Personal Creations Textured Postcards, (3380), and the quality is very high. I also like Avery 4 x 6 postcards, (8386). Both of these Avery products are very good quality, and very campatible with my program for doing projects such as invitations, etc.
