The cost is high, but it now works perfectly giving me a legal size option. I wish it was 500 sheets so it would take full rheem of paper. While this item is a bit pricey it does allow for two sources and works like a charm. The 2600 series printers are great quality at an affordable price.

I bought this printer after reading a number of good reviews on other websites. Regrettably, my experience with this equipment was horrible. The installation went smoothly, and the printer produced nice output right away. After about an hour away doing something else, I returned to print another job. When I sent the Word document to the printer, my PC crashed and began to reboot. This situation repeated itself two more times so I changed the USB cable, swapped the port on the PC that it was plugged in to, and downloaded and installed new drivers from the Lexmark website. Same story. The printer worked initially, and then crashed the PC when a PowerPoint presentation was sent to the printer.I made a total of 3 calls to Lexmark tech support, and each time got the same solution. Uninstall, reinstall and everything would be fine. Well it wasn''t. Even though I explained in calls 2 and 3 that all the stuff they were telling me to do had already been tried, it seemed that they just kept following their same solution script. Lexmark seemed incapable of offering any new options to solve the problem.
At this point I phoned Amazon customer service, explained my problem, and asked if they were able to do something to help me. I was stunned when the lady said she was sorry I had the problem, and would I like a replacement printer or a refund. I didn''t want anything more to do with a Lexmark product at this point, so I asked for a refund. This is my idea of outstanding customer service. I am now looking for another color laser printer and will be choosing one from those available on Amazon Prime. My thanks to Amazon for amazing customer service. Lexmark could learn a lesson here, but I''m sure they won''t.

20-lb paper isn''t the quality I want to use for my newsletter, but it was advertised as ''great for presentations'' -NOT! This ream went in the trash!Canon BJC-50 Color Bubble Jet Printer
- Compact, portable design
- Lithium-ion battery
- Parallel and infrared IrDA interfaces
- Drop modulation technology enhances print quality
- Ready for color image-scanner option
PROS:
The BJC-50 is the smallest available travel printer for printing documents and prints at a relatively acceptable speed.
The BJC-50 printer includes a LiON battery which makes for truly portable printing. I''m amazed how long a charge lasts and the battery pack is inside a battery compartment in the printer (not externally like the HP Deskjet 460 series). Well, the LiON battery is piggy back attached to the HP 460. I''m guessing that HP recommends removing the battery before traveling. You don''t need to do that with the BJC-50. Just remember to slide the power lock switch on the right side of the BJC-50 to prevent the printer from accidentally turning on when traveling.
CONS:
The REALLY BAD part of this printer is that the ink cartridges, once opened, do not last very long. The color cartridges dry out faster than the black cartridges. And the ink cartridges do not provide feedback to indicate the amount of ink remaining in each cartridge.
The printer is relatively loud when it is printing.
You need to be careful when feeding the paper otherwise the printer ejects the paper.
I cannot get the IS-12 Scanner Cartridge in the BJC-50 printer to communicate with the IS application under Windows XP even though Canon''s web site and the Readme file says it is supported (there is a configuration issue somewhere). This is more effort than its worth for now.
SUMMARY: This is one temperamental printer. While it provides convenient printing on the go, I think it takes more effort than it should just to get something printed.
I''m purchasing a HP Deskjet 460WF. I''ll let you know how I like it soon.

I purchased the Canon BJC-50 in August of 1998. It has taken at least three hours to three days of effort to get it to work for each time that I have occasionally used it. I have used it mainly for color printing, and also for scanning with the optional scanning cartridge. It is particularly troublesome when switching from scan to print functions. It is quite noisy. I can not depend on it to function when I need it. It usually works eventually, but only after many trial and error attempts. Email technical support usually does not provide a quick solution. There have been no quick solutions. There have only been time consuming, painstaking encounters with this machine.Want Canon BJC-50 Color Bubble Jet Printer Discount?
Excellent printer...everything that I thought it would be . Works wells all the time. Works wells with Windows XP and downloaded driver from Canon site.Even though it said that the infrared wireless printing only works with Windows 95, I found that it worked just as well with Windows ME installed in my laptop. Two great benefits of the BJ-50: 1. Infrared wireless printing (if your laptop supports it) 2. There is battery in the printer, so you don''t have to connect it to an electrical outlet to print! Both features are VERY convenient.
Print quality is decent, but I can''t comment on ink life since I have just begun to use the printer.

I thought the toner was a counterfit. HP reviewed it and determined it was not a counterfit, just very, very old. I am returning the product and my money is being refunded.Want HP Q2613A Laserjet 13A Cartridge Discount?
My last HP cartridge before this purchase, gave me quality printed pages for over a year. The print gets lighter with each page.
I have to shake it numerous times a day to get a readable printed page.
(Example) I printed two pages this morning.
The first page was excellent, the second page was OK but it has light and dark printing, like the toner is getting low..
Shaking it does help.My previous cartridge was dirty and was leaving unintended deposits on the printed page. This cartridge fixed that and was cheaper than Office Depot.

- Quality Across the Board. A robust, high-quality design brings reliability and excellence to every aspect of your multifunction experience - from hands-free scanning and copying to rapid printing and faxing.
- Less Training, More Simplicity. Copying and scanning are at your fingertips, and the intuitive backlit operator panel offers two lines of text to guide newcomers through printing and maintenance with ease.
- Print Black, Think Green. Reduce energy and printer supplies by consolidating all your document functions into one efficient network device. Choose the high-yield cartridge to conserve resources. Plus, duplex printing and scan to e-mail reduces paper waste.
This is with copying and printing text documents, many of which do not take up the full 8.5x11 area (e.g. photocopies of driver''s licenses).
There are a few other minor problems. The network drivers consume a lot of resources and are a bit squirrely. The document feeder frequently pulls through multiple pages at a time and is difficult to unjam. Mostly, though, the main problem is toner capacity. Based on the claimed toner capacity, I calculated that this printer would have very low per-page costs compared to other printers. In practice it''s not nearly as economical as I thought it would be.

This is a great machine for the money. Warm-up speed is quick and when it begins printing, it prints fast and quite. This machine is great for a home or office environment. The scan to email function is superior to all of the other multi-function machines I''ve owned. The scanning software minimizes the number of trips you need to make to the machine, so if the printer is in another room, you don''t have to run back and forth a bunch of times. The duplexer in the printer works flawlessly. What else can I say, it''s quiet, reasonably priced, fast, and has great print quality.I did run in to a significant installation problem during setup. I set this machine up on 5 different computers. Everything appeared to go fine during the install, but after I shut down 2 of the computers at the end of the day and started them up the next morning, Lexmark''s scanning software completely locked up 2 of them and would not let the operating system boot up. Since I didn''t need scanning capability on these two machines, I ended up starting them in safe mode, removing the scanning software, and everything worked fine after that. I never called Lexmark''s technical support to see if they had a fix for the problem.

After reading all of the hype about this printer, I bought one in 2011. Since buying the printer I have been through 2 cartridges and I am currently awaiting a new cartridge ordered from Amazon. This printer requires a bit of finesse. The network drivers are the issue. At least 5 times I have spent over an hour with Lexmark on line and on the phone. This printer comes with lifetime customer support, and let me tell you they are good, seriously good. they can take over your computer, and have everything up and running in no time. Although I have had alot of issues with the network drivers, they have always been able to get me up and running. From changing routers to modems, they have always been able to help.....the biggest issue was that the printer kept on changing IP addresses, meaning it kept getting lost on the network....so I fixed that with a permanent IP address, customer service helped. This was why I had to call twice. The best thing about every issue is that Lexmark customer service fixed the issues and added new software. The problem is the software and not the product. Another issue was scanning to pdf directly from Adobe Acrobat; initially the system would not scan from Acrobat but would allow me to use the scan center software sending it to Acrobat. This is just annoying but a work around. Instead of trying to match everyone elses drivers in all programs, they decided to have one scan center and push everything from their software to other programs. Not a bad idea and it always works. This is a work around and over time I had adapted. The thing I hate most is getting up to push a button every time I scan, painful. I should be able to click and scan but if there are numerous people scanning, this allows them to dictate who and when.....this is a home office product, not a 50 person office product. The other issue that cannot be worked around is the toner and cartridges. I think toner usage is not what is should be especially when you talk about how many pages you should get and no one ever gets the high level of production from any of their cartridges, this appears to be just false advertising----
All in all this has been a workhorse for me. I waste alot of ink and paper so maybe I should not complain about toner but it seems to fall short on toner but as far as function, it works and it works well. My experience in computers is not novice and if you think it is plug and play network printer, forget it. Buy an HP for plug and play. I actually like how complex this machine is but I understand that it prints quickly when you have a new toner cartridge and gets slower as the toner runs out. I have to shake the current toner every couple of pages to keep it printing nicely.
If you are experienced with networking, know how to find work arounds and learn new ways to use their Scan Center, this thing is a great office companion. The scan to email and scan to program function works flawlessly AFTER the network drivers are working. If you cannot get the network up and running correctly, just keep it plugged in. This will save you hours of pain. It is a love and hate relationship. The comfort of Lexmark service for the life of the product is second to none. This is definitely the best part of the product. It is odd no one mentioned the technical customer support. Obviously. many of the other purchasers should have called them before writing such horrible reviews. I am sure they can help most people get things up and running. All you do is give the control to them and it''s all fixed.

Scanner setup is difficult. I still have been unable to complete scanner function. Instructions are provided in the manual but they are not intuitive.I purchased this Lexmark X264dn MFP for my home office because I needed a B/W printer, copier, scanner, FAX device (I use a dedicated HP color laser jet printer for all color printing). What amazed me about this product was amazon''s PRICE which included free delivery (given the weight and bulk of this MFP this is not to be underestimated). Given this price, and Lexmark''s reputation (we use Lexmark professional printers/copiers at work) I decided to purchase it.My observations after three months of daily usage :
Printer/copier :
straight forward operation, excellent quality. Automatic duplex feature is very nice and saves paper.
I have had not problems with the ADF or the paper tray, i.e. no jamming whatsoever.
Scanner :
once you learn how to use Lexmark''s "scan center" software, it is a straight forward operation saving scanned images to MS Word documents. The instruction manual is not very explicit about this and could be greatly improved
FAX :
getting the Lexmark X264dn to SEND FAXes is reasonably straight forward. However,
getting it to RECEIVE FAXes requires some work. For starters, the instruction manual is WOEFULLY INADEQUATE describing the FAX features; it contains no explanation whatsoever about receiving FAXes.
After I searched around on Lexmark''s customer support web site I found several technical bulletins that explain the settings for receiving FAXes that have to be configured correctly (I use a single phone line with a separate answering machine which is the most tricky set-up). After some trial and error I was finally able to get the FAX modem to recognize FAXes AFTER the answering machine
has answered an incoming phone call.
If you want to receive FAXes, be sure to read these technical bulletins first; it will save you much time and frustration.
Bottom line : a decent MFP with a very attractive price, instruction manual is
inadequate for receiving FAX operation

Excellent heavyweight paper. It has just the right amount of satin matte finish to diffuse reflections. On my HP Photosmart printer it gives me fantastic images, with much better color rendition and contrast than regular warehouse brand gloss paper. I now use this for all my prints that I like to frame. One of the nice things about this paper is the coating on the back side of the paper that prevents papers from sticking together when stacked.
One caution if you use pigment based inkjet printers, this paper is not for you. Use this for all dye based inkjet printers, which a vast majority are. In the HP Photosmart range, as of this writing, only the Pro B9180 and Pro B8850 are pigment based inkjet printers. This paper can be hard to find. It''s just the best of the best, even though the cost is high. I prefer it to glossy paper for any use. I can''t stand glossy paper. All it does is reflect the light. Give me the matte stuff any day. I''m ordering quite a bit of this paper, in case it disappears again.I print out hundreds of pictures each year and I only use this paper in the soft gloss. It has such a nice feel and the colors are brilliant. It''s the best!BIG BIG BIG MISTAKE by HP to do away with this paper and call the new paper "BETTER"??? By whos standards??? This is the BEST paper out there and HP says they will not be making it anymore. I hope HP listens to the customer and change things back. The "NEW" paper is not worth $34 a box!!!

- Compact, low-profile design, 80-sheet fold-up paper tray
- Beautiful 4-by-6-inch borderless photos; documents in laser-quality black
- Simple setup, easy software, USB connectivity; PC/Mac
If "printing", for you, means printing out 200 pages in a day, then this printer isn''t going to be for you. The cartridge (specifically, the black) probably wouldn''t hold out too long, and the printer would end up costing you money. The cartridges aren''t cheap.
Now, the good news:
For those of us with light printing needs:
the ocassional picture
maps from a driving directions site
receipt from an online purchase
paper versions of your taxes
If those are your needs, this printer will serve you well. It''s very inexpensive, very quick, and has adequate color. And while the cartridges aren''t big, they are more than adequate for the kinds of tasks listed above. I''ve had mine for over a month and the black cartridge isn''t even 1/4 empty. If you''re a light user, and you don''t mind spending $20 every (I''m guessing) 6 months or so, this is probably a great printer for you.
On the other hand, if you''re an author who likes to print out his or her 500-page manuscript several times a month, you might want to look elsewhere for a printer that takes a larger cartridge.

SO i bought expensive paper and it still says paper jam. I want to cry right now. I just wasted 40 bucks on something I really wanna beat up with a hammer or run over w/ a truck. I am not sure if I can still return it and I am afraid of selling it.
Please dont buy it. It was a shame that I didnt check reviews prior to purchase, I really trusted HP.

This printer is not worth the cheap price. The ink doesnt last at all. I bought a brand new black ink cartridge to print a thesis paper and got 30 pages printed and the ink ran out. Also it kept crashing after printing 3 pages, just stopped and acted like the print job was done. So, I had to print it one page at a time. What a waste of money.Want HP Deskjet 3940 Color Inkjet Printer (C9050A#B1H) Discount?
I researched this printer before buying it and the reviews said it was good for low volume printing and the output quality was good. It was purchased for my son to use at college for printing reports and papers.Low volume is an understatement, the ink cartridges only hold 5 ml of ink and cost in the neighborhood of $15. The cartridges for my older HP932 printer hold about 19 ml and go for about $30.
Upon arrival, the sealed box contained no power cord. I had to call HP to have them send me one. To their credit, I will say that their support staff was friendly and helpful.
It also tends to jam all the time.
My son stopped trying to use it altogether.
I wouldn''t recommend it.I regret buying this printer. I can only feed one page at a time to avoid paper jams, whether using recycled or new paper. I really don''t print that much and this is the most I''ve ever spent on ink. The print quality isn''t even that great. It was a waste of money.

I couldn''t be happier; the setup program is the greatest installation wizard I''ve seen in a while for a printer: It takes you step by step, with crisp and clear illustrations, through the whole process of unpacking the printer, installing the cartridges and getting the wireless working.
I was especially concerned about the wireless, the installation process had to deal with my Windows Vista, my router, my network security settings, my antivirus and my firewall ... I was expecting some trouble but it just worked seamlessly.
I was so happy I even registered the printer with Lexmark, which apparently gives you ink discounts.
Printing quality is great so far but I''ve only printed business documents, I''ll update this review after I print some pictures.

PRO: Very easy to set up wireless. It goes to sleep (which I presume conserves energy) and quickly reconnects to the wireless network when woken up, which doesn''t even require pressing the power button, just printing to it will wake it up. I also love that this is only a 3-in-1 machine, since I have no use for a fax function. Not having the number pad for the fax function enables a very clean design.CON: Apparently in order to scan, the stars must be aligned on the 2nd monday of the month while you stand on one toe and touch your nose. But seriously, if either the computer has dropped from the network since the last time it talked to the printer, or the printer has gone to sleep, or the computer has gone to sleep (hence dropping from the network), the printer is unable to download the ''scan to'' application list from the computer. Since the computer that I primarily use is right next to the printer, I''ve tried even having the printer directly connected to the printer in case it was a wireless bug. Same problem. And unfortunately, I have to scan a lot as design student taking some courses on-line.
One of the reasons I bought this printer is that I love Lexmark''s ink cartridge return program, where for every 5 used cartridges returned, you get one free. It would be nice to be fully satisfied with their printers, as well, though.

We bought this at Circuit City for 69 dollars. We don''t need fax, so this suited our needs, plus its smaller than its HP competitive printers. The wireless was a snap to configure. I recommend this printer.
WARNING: This Printer does not double side print automatically. I initially purchased this product because Circuit City had a sign on it that said "Doubleside Printing", now I see it doesn''t. However, I see that I probably don''t need this option, so I''m sticking with it.

I purchased this Lexmark printer after researching it thoroughly on the internet and paying attention to the reviews by customers. I received it, followed the set up instructions and in spite of how easy it is to set up, I must have done something wrong. HERE''S WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD. I call Lexmark, am speaking with a customer service rep within two minutes, and she establishes a remote access to my computer, goes in and diagnoses the problem, uninstalls the software and reinstalls it correctly. Unbelievable. I have never experienced such excellent help from any technology company. Especially computer equipment companies. When she got done, it worked perfectly. This makes so much sense I don''t know why other corporations don''t do this. I put up with crappy HP printers for years. Never again.Watch out for spyware "C:\Program Files\Lx_Cats" is placed in your registry whether you participate in lexmark connect or not it''s part of the (EULA) so you cannot use remanufactured cartridges, a chip in the printer itself contacts their website every thirty days with info on printer serial # and pages printed/ when last cartridge was changed among other things.
