Southworth Parchment Specialty Paper (J988C) Save 35% off

Southworth Parchment Specialty Paper, 8.5 x 11 inches, 32.lb, Ivory, 250 per Box
  • Get the old-world look and feel of Parchment finish paper
  • 32 lb. premium weight for added distinction
  • Acid and lignin free archival quality
  • 250 sheets per box
  • Laser, inkjet and copier compatible

I have historically purchased this paper from Office Depot. I use it to print giclee certificates of authenticity for the fine art reproduction canvases that I make for my clients in my art reproduction business. I was DELIGHTED to discover that Amazon sold it & far less than Office Depot (& that it was eligible for prime shipping!). This is a very fine, quality, solid weight paper that is prefect for high end certificate printing for any purpose. Well worth the price as it adds a really nice value to the final printing application.

Double Sided Inkjet Teslin for Id Cards Save 88% off

Double Sided Inkjet Teslin for Id Cards
  • Durable. Double Sided. Inkjet Printable
  • Use with a Butterfly Pouch To Make Proffesional IDs
  • Synthetic Water Proof. Wear Resisitant.
  • Makes up to 8 2-Sided ID Cards with One Sheet

I thought that these were the pre-measured and microperforated punch-out cards, but apparently there is no microperforation: this is just two sheets of Teslin, which I could have purchased through another seller for less... the price I paid was about what I would have expected for pre-punched cards (and in retrospect, I would have saved about 12% if I had ordered these elsewhere). With all of this being the full extent of my dissatisfaction, I docked only one star.

But the Teslin material itself arrived in great condition in a rigid mailer, and I''m no stranger to X-Acto knives. The church staff ID cards printed beautifully, without smearing as they did with another, similar material. Even at photographic resolution, the surface took the inks very well from a Canon printer. Overall, I''m very pleased with the results.

HP C6058A 11X17 Premium Photo Paper Glossy (20-Sheets)

HP C6058A 11X17 Premium Photo Paper Glossy
  • Smooth, glossy finish
  • Print impressive customized photos from your desktop
  • Oversized sheet size
  • 20 sheets included in box
  • Designed for B-size printers

Using the HP 1220C/PS this paper is excellent. The quality is proffessional, and the results are stunning. The only downside is that HP ink will smear. This is only true on their glossy papers, so if you need a photo and you won''t be publishing, laminating or framing it, you might want to try out some Matte finishes. I''ve also noticed that Kodak paper, while thinner, dries much quicker and doesn''t smear as easily. However, again, there is a catch. The Kodak paper doesn''t have as great quality. So all in all, it''s great paper, great quality, and perfect for my needs. Go for it.

HP P2035N LaserJet Printer Monochrome

HP P2035N LaserJet Printer Monochrome
  • LaserJet Printer Monochrome
  • Built in Ethernet/Fast Ethernet Networking
  • 150 Sheet Output Bin
  • Print Speed Up to 30 ppm and Up to 600 by 600 dpi
  • Hi Speed USB 2.0 Port and Security Device Slot

This is a great little printer. First page out in 7-8 seconds, and after that a page every two seconds. It is loud, but only while printing. After that a fan runs for about 30 seconds and then shuts down (I returned a Brother 2170 because the fan would run for 15-30 minutes after printing a single page). Installation was a snap. The printer also comes with a regular toner cartridge rather than a "starter" cartridge. Highly recommended.

I have used various HP printers in my law office for over twenty years, and until now I was always satisfied. I bought this P2035N on 8/9/2010 because of its speed, and it is quick.

The major (and unforgivable) drawback is the cost and lifespan of the consumable ink cartridge (the P2035N only uses the HP 05A cartridge, and NOT the HP 05X high capacity cartridge). The HP 05A cartridge costs about $90, and is rated at 2,300 pages (about 4 cents per page). The first new cartridge lasted thirty days. The second one only lasted twenty days. The HP 05X (high capacity) cartridge costs about $165 and is rated at 6,500 pages (2.5 cents per page); however, the P2035N printer cannot use the 05X cartridge.

By comparison, my former HP P2015d printer could use the HP 53X (extended use) cartridge (costs $165, rated at 7,000 pages), which means that it costs about 2.4 cents per page, and it would last me about 3 months. Even the HP 53A cartridge (costs $90, rated at 3,000 pages) costs about 3 cents per page.

Based on the above experience, here is my bottom line: Don''t buy this printer. To print 2,300 pages per month costs about $90 on the P2035n, but would only cost about $57 if it could use the high capacity 05X cartridge. That means it costs me almost $400 more per year (which is $100 more than I paid for the printer itself). I''ve thought about just buying the HP 2055n, because it''s just as fast and it can use the 05X cartridge; but I hear reports that the P2055n is horribly slow at printing PDF documents (and I now scan all of my files into PDF formats).

I bought this printer to replace the only printer I''ve ever owned my HP Laserjet 4L, which I bought 15 years ago next month. I am still in deep mourning, and I would not have replaced it even now except that I was getting tired of not being able to print legible Mapquest and Google maps. So of course I stuck with HP. Major product loyalty here. Every office I''ve ever worked in has primarily used HPs because we regretted it if we strayed too far from the mother ship.

I''ve had this for about six weeks now, and I like it just fine. It was easy to set up and the print quality is excellent (which, after all, is the big enchilada). It will also manually duplex, which is a feature I wanted this time and caused me to eliminate some other printers from the competition. The footprint is actually about the same as my lil'' 4L''s, but it''s so much taller it looks gigantic, which is a drawback. I had read the reviews here before purchasing, many of which comment on how noisy it is. That''s true, but I found when going through the settings on the installation CD that it has a quiet mode, which turns out to be substantially less noisy than the regular mode. It does slow the print speed down slightly, but one could always change the setting for a big job and go take the dog for a walk. The only reason I''m giving this a 4 instead of a five is that it will be a while before I can fully evaluate how well the toner cartridges do. Otherwise, if I can''t keep my Laserjet 4L, I''ll take this one.

I was a little bit concerned about the purchase after reading a few comments regarding noise and delay in output. I have owned several HP laserjet printers over the last 30 years (starting with HP Laser jet II series, 4, 4 plus, 5, 5P, 6 and 6P, 6210 etc). This one is the best, faster than all the older ones. Actually, it is a lot quieter than 4, 5 or 6 series. After the job is done, it goes almost completely quiet. There is a few seconds lag when the print command is sent over the network, but that is natural because of the speed of the network itself. I was able to install the printer over my home network in less than a minute. The output quality is better than most other printers I have used in the past. There is a potential for concern regarding the toner cost, as it is expensive, and I do not yet know how many pages I will get out of a fresh toner. All in all, a great printer at this price. I had to pay two to three times as much for other HP laserjets, in the past.

Added 9/23/09: As I feared, the toner that came with the printer did not even last 200 pages. That makes the cost per printed page to almost 40 cents per page. I am quite disappointed with that. I will ask Amazon to replace the toner cartridge for me. Hopefully, they will do so.

Added 7/1/2011 I just bought another P2035N today. I installed it on Win XP computer. When I tried to print it using my laptop that has Win 7 (64 Bit), the printer kept on printing and printing the same page over an over again. I was really mad at HP and Microsoft for not fixing this issue even after 3 years of knowing about it. Anyway, to get around the problem, I removed the default driver and installed HP Laser Jet Family PCL5 driver. It has resolved the repeated printing problem. I like the printer, as I have now purchased 3 of them, but hate HP and MSFT for being so inefficient and totally uncaring about the customer.

If I could give this printer a zero star rating, I would.

This printer suffers from the same problems that plagued the last series of printers. The previous model was the P2015dn that would lose its web interface and network settings randomly. A power cycle would usually bring the printers back online.

We have had this printer in service for 5 days. In the 5 days, it went offline/locked up 5 times. Each time, the printer locked up completely. It could not be printed to, the web interface was not accessible, it could not be pinged and dropped completely off the network. It could not even be seen in the router as an active client.

The first lockup started at the 36 hour mark, then around 21 hours, and again around 20 hours and then the final straw was twice in the same day within 8 hours. Each time, power cycling the printer brought it up. This is not acceptable for a network printer. You should not have to power cycle it to make sure the printer is online and your print job will go through.

A call to HP was useless, and they denied any problems. Do a quick google search and this problem is all over the HP tech support forums.

This problem affects all of the "P" and "CP" series printers. HP has not made a reliable business class printers since the 1320n back when the printers were still made in japan. They have now switched to a Chinese manufacturer for their printers. Stay away.

Brother MFC-5100c Multifunction

Brother MFC-5100c Multifunction
  • All-in-one print, scan, copy, fax solution for your office
  • Prints 10 pages per minute in monochrome, 8 ppm color
  • 2,400 x 1,200 dpi print resolution
  • 9,600 x 9,600 dpi scan resolution
  • Quick Scan function scans page in 3 seconds

I recieved the MFC-5100C this afternoon, with some trepidation about MacOS X support. I''m happy to report that it works without a hitch in OS X, both for printing and scanning. No USB cable in the box, but that seems to have become standard practice for printer manufacturers.

Print quality is decent. Not on par with the latest/best inkjets, but they cost more than this machine, and don''t have scanner/fax capabilities. And inkjet printing has come so far in the last few years that this ''ok'' modern printer is far better than the standard a few years ago.

Scan quality (via the TWAIN driver) is good as well. Again, not as good as more expensive scanners, but quite acceptable for an economical multifunction machine. Scanning speed is good as well. Minor gripe, that may not be Brother''s fault i can scan with no problems into Adobe Photoshop and some other apps, but Image Capture.app goes haywire with this TWAIN driver. Might be Apple''s fault though, since the driver works fine with other apps.

So far my only concern is that the scanner light stays on permanently, and there is no on/off switch for the unit. So the unit is presumably sucking power and wearing out the scanner light 24 hours a day. :(

Recieved the MFC-5100C this afternoon from Amazon.com. Was worried that some of the reviews indicated some problems existed with installation. Happy to report that it works without a hitch on Windows 98. Came with a USB cable in the box, but have been using the parallel line so far. Will have to add a USB Hub to attach the printer using the USB line since it was not included in the box --Didn''t think they would include a Hub.

Print quality is OK for home. Not on par with the latest/best inkjets, but at [this price] one can not complain, besides the best inkjets cannot do everything the 5100C can do.

Scan quality is good as well. Again, not as good as more expensive scanners, but quite acceptable for an economical multifunction machine. Scanning speed is good as well.

So far my only issue is that the scanner light stays on permanently, and there is no on/off switch for the unit. So the unit is presumably sucking power and wearing out the scanner light 24 hours a day. Which means it will break sooner than later. Hopefully Brother will read this review and add an on/off switch.

This product is not as well-built as my previous fax-printer: HP K60. There are severl problems with this MFC: 1. When I connect it to my PC (Window XP) with a USB cable, my computer could not shut down properly. When I connect it to my PC with a IEEE 1284 cable, my computer was able to shut down properly. 2., I had to purchase the USB and IEEE 1284 cable. 3., The function screen keeps saying that I have a paper jam when I don''t have a paper jam. 5-10 years ago, I had a black and white laser MFC from Brother. I also encountered many paper jam problems with that MFC. At that time, the paper either kept jamming up, or the screen kept saying that there was a paper jam when there was not a paper jam. 4., The white scanning light bulb would not turn off. I don''t know if it''s supposed to turn off after a few minutes, but it''s on all the time, even after many days of non-usage. I wonder if the scanning light bulb will last long if it''s on all the time. 5., When I print with recycled printing paper (I use the back of non-essential printed papers), the feeder would often pick up two pages at once, instead of feeding one page at a time. 6., the quality of the Normal resolution of MFC 5100c is not as good as the Normal resolution of my previous HP K60. I need to go to SuperFine in order to get acceptable resolution.

The good qualities about this product is: 1., it prints much faster than my previous HP K60. 2., the MFC color is slightly richer than the HP K60. 3., the price is cheaper. 4., it''s has a flatbed, so it can scan bulky or hard documents.

I don''t understand how this product could get a bad review from anyone, especially concerning problems with XP. I have XP Pro and have not had 1 single problem out of this machine in the 9 months since I bought it. The printing speed is good, the scanning speed is good, and the fax/pc fax is excellent. Of course I have common sense and some people seem to lack it; when you print color pics at high resolution it will take longer than printing black and white text at a draft resolution, something some folks just do not understand. Yes it has a large footprint, but I guarantee it is smaller than the footprints left by a separate printer, scanner, copier, and fax. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in a multifunction machine.

It''s a bit large but this is very functional unit. I had no trouble with Windows XP and was able to set it up as a Network printer for my other computers (Windows Me and 95 very easily. Unlike my old HP T45 unit which had a slow clunky startup everytime you turn on your computer this is much faster. There are fixes for the resolution of the scanner on the Website. When you are printing pictures or graphics I found it better to set it to Photo (not auto) in the Advanced setup.

MBM 87M Tabletop Friction Folder

MBM 87M Tabletop Friction Folder, Speed 7,200 sheets/hour, 2 fold speeds, Automatic stop when last sheet is foldedWe love this paper folder. The unit is really easy to use and very easy to program where and how you want the paper to be folded. It is also really fast.

The machine folds well, however, it would be better if the paper stayed organized. I wish there was a basket that would catch the paper so we wouldn''t have a complete and utter mess.

This is not a high end folding machine, but works well for the price. The only fault we have found with the machine is that it lacks some specific setup instructions. There is piece that is designed to help paper eject from the machine properly that we have never been able to install in such a way that it works. It is still a good bang for the buck.

Dell 5130CDN Color Laser Printer Save 30% off

Dell 5130CDN Color Laser Printer - Printer - color - Duplex - laser - Legal, A4 - 1200 dpi - up to 47 ppm / up to 47 ppm - capacity: 700 sheets - parallel, USB, Gigabit LAN
  • NETWORK COLOR LASER PRINTER | UP TO 1200x1200 DPI |
  • USB 2.0 INTERFACE CONNECTION | 10/100 NETWORK CONNECTION
  • 500-SHEET BIN | 150-SHEET MULTI-PURPOSE TRAY | 2900 SHEETS w/ADDITIONAL TRAYS (NOT INCLUDED)
  • 800MHz PROCESSOR | 256 MB RAM | 1024 MB RAM MAX
  • SHIPS w/TONERS | POWER CORD | DRIVER DISC

Have had the 5130 CDN for 13 months now. The consumables are incredibly expensive and only available from Dell. We are constantly having to replace toner, the toner waste container, fuser, etc. They are all high-priced from Dell.

One month out of warranty the printer quit with an error that it needed a new belt unit. Ordered the belt unit (only available from Dell for $375.00) and installed it. At power up it gave us an 006-370 error and said to call for support.

Called for support and wasted a ridiculous amount of time on hold then being transferred to different people.

Finally spoke to a tech support person who ultimately told me that since the printer wasn''t under warranty any longer I''d have to order a "Ross Assembly"/print head and have the MCU/ESS board replaced. He also told me I''d have to hire a technician to install these parts as they are not something a customer can do. And he said that I could NOT pay to order the parts from Dell or have a Dell technician do the work, because the printer is out of warranty.

I spoke to his supervisor who treated me like an idiot and told me repeatedly that if I had just paid the extra money for the extended warranty I wouldn''t have to worry about arranging to get the printer fixed on my own.

Then I received the following email from Dell:

"The Dell part c399t is not available for sale from Dell as it is recommended to not attempt to replace it. Several parts houses do have it available (found by internet searching Dell C399T), best price for the part only we found is $795.00. This has the potential to be a $1000 repair. The recommended choice would be to replace the printer. If you need anything else please let me know."

So a 13 month old printer that Dell advertises as providing "Superb Performance" and as an "Exceptional Long Term Value" will cost more than its purchase price to repair and they recommend just replacing it. WHAT???

Our university spends literally hundreds of thousands of dollars with Dell every year and this is the "service" they provide.

Dell clearly does not stand behind the products they sell and it seems clear that unless you buy the extended warranty your equipement will fail within days of when the one year warranty expires.

So steer clear of Dell products entirely, especially this printer.

As far as printer performance I would say its great, fast, crisp colors....but I had a major issue with the printer after about 1 year, 2-3 parts completely just stopped working, I had to extend the warranty to get the parts covered, I am pretty annoyed about ti because the printer had less then 10k pages printed on it when all this happened....for 1200-1500 dollars I expected to have no problems with it, but I got just the opposite, I would definitely recommend going to another company if you want a quality product...

Got this printer and had nothing but problems. Long phone calls with tech support, replaced drums and toner several times.
