I''m 6''2, so any monitor that I''ve bought has always been too short for me.

This monitor stand did the trick. But, one word of caution, is that I had

to use the highest level (about 5 inches), so if you need more height

extension then 5 inches, you might want to look at alternatives. For me

the 5 inches was perfect.

This is the usually flawless HP extra large ink cartridge. No problem with the product. That said, the shipper/supplier took forever to send it to me. I will not patronize this supplier again. Instead when I need ink I''ll just drive to BestBuy for it. About the same price, much faster.

Good news. 1. Low initial price. 2. Good quality printing.

Bad news. 1. One foot long power cord. 2. Very low capacity cartridges (5 ml)mean very costly printing. 3. Only one cartridge (color) comes with the printer you have to buy a black ink cartridge $18. You can still print in B & W, but need to buy the cartidge.

This printer is exactly what I was looking for!!! Not too expensive, but it does the job perfectly! Don''t get it if you''re looking for amazing quality, high-capacity, specialty printing, etc. This is a great printer for regular home printing. It is pretty small, so it fits great anywhere, and it only uses two cartridges. So far, I haven''t had any issues with it, and I''ve printed a lot of different things. Color and black-and-white...not a speed demon, but fast enough. I would give it 5-stars, but we''re not talking the holy grail of printers here. If you need something simple to get the job done, definitely get this model!

it has great print quality and it''s really simple and cheap but the problem is that it runs out of ink really, really quickly so it''s probably not worth it.

In my opinion Hewlett-Packard makes the best printers and they have very good technical support. The printers are very easy to install, operate and maintain. I was especially glad that I bought this printer because it came with the Tri-color cartridge which prints beautiful black and white docutments as well as great photos. What is even better is that the Tri-color is less expensive than either the black or color cartridge. I am very happy with my purchase

Hewlett Packard - HP Q5449A Premium Inkjet Matte Presentation Paper

Hewlett Packard - HP Q5449A Premium Inkjet Matte Presentation Paper, 8.5 x 11 inch, 150 Sheet
  • Use for great presentations, proposals, reports and newsletters
  • Print on both sides of this bright-white paper with coated matte finish for vibrant colors and sharper text
  • Dazzle your clients with this professional-weight paper that looks and feels impressive
  • PEFC-certified fiber from well-managed forests
  • Recyclable in community collection systems that accept mixed paper

I received this product as part of the Amazon Vine program. It came as a bonus to the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Wireless e-All-in-One (CM755A#B1H) I received to test drive.

After printing off a newsletter and a photo or two with regular paper using the 8500A, I was disappointed to find that the paper was overly saturated with ink and the images were not as sharp as I would have liked. When I traded the regular paper for the Hewlett Packard HP Premium Presentation Paper 120g, Matte (8.5" x 11") (Two-Sided) (150 Sheets/Package), Part Number Q5449A, it made all the difference!

Images whether photos or graphics were sharp and bright on this paper. The text was too. Colors were true, and the matte finish was easy on the eyes.

Because of this paper being ''two-sided'' (I thought that was funny because ALL paper is two-sided isn''t it...), it is specially coated on each side to not let ink soak through to the other side. I didn''t notice it doing it when both sides were printed, but initially was worried as when I did a photo on one side without doing the other side, I did notice some spots seemed to bleed through slightly. That could be my printer an inkjet who thinks she''s a laser printer just shooting the ink a bit more heavy handedly than others may.

Overall I''m very pleased with this paper. It''s not a super thick paper, but would work very well for school, home and office projects with lots of graphics or photos. Being ''two-sided'' it also will cut down on using too much paper. Essentially, when you purchase this box of 150 sheets...it''s like buying 300 because you can use both sides and have the end-product come out equally fabulous.

My review is the same as the black cartridge. It''s way too expensive for what it is, but that seems to be the 21st century trade off for a good but inexpensive printer. I like my Canon MX340... great printer and inexpensive. BUT if I did high volume printing I''d definately go with a much more expensive printer that advertised low cartridge prices. I only paid 80 dollars for the printer, which is excellent, but about every 3 months I pay another 60 dollars to replace the ink. And I don''t do THAT much printing.

DYMO LABELWRITER 450 Label Printer,(1752264), USB, PC/MAC, Printer and Software, 51 Labels Per Minute, black/silver.
  • Label, mail, and file smarter with proprietary DYMO® Productivity Software
  • DYMO Label version 8 software enables you to create and print address, shipping, file, folder and barcode labels, plus name badges and more
  • Print up to 51 labels a minute
  • Uses thermal printing technology – no expensive ink or toner needed, ever
  • Create labels directly from text in Microsoft; Word, Excel;, Outlook®, QuickBooks; and other programs, without retyping

Dymo has long provided highly functional label makers. The 450 continues in that tradition.

The pros far outweigh the cons. They include inkless printing, automatic connection to Outlook contacts, automatic zip code printing (only if you have the complete 9 digit zip code), a seemingly endless list of available label sizes and functions (including CD labels). Software installation and set up for the label writer was easy and efficient.

The con is one that has plagued Dymo for several generations of it''s label writers it is unreasonably difficult to install new labels. (You eventually learn the secret of carefully aligning the labels at an angle so a "corner" is fed in first.) For a product that otherwise performs so flawlessly, this annoyance should be addressed.

Buy DYMO LABELWRITER 450 Label Printer Now

The Labelwriter 450 printer works great!! The Version 8 software has some design "improvements" which border on being bugs.

1 If you open a file with an existing file name ending in a number and you perform a SAVE AS function the software truncates any numbers on the right hand side of the filename. So, if you are labeling parts and there happen to be numbers in your part numbering schema, BE CAREFUL that you don''t lose the numbers.

2 The software no longer previews the label of a file selected in the file open menu.

3 The software is bloated and takes a long time to load up.

Item arrived, brand new as promised. Installed software on windows 7 PC all went fine. (the box states windows 7 compatible) Loaded up drivers all went fine. Software opens, and the problems begin.

Software freezes/locks up PC. After PC unfreezes you can make your label on software, but printer will give a error and will not print. Install/Uninstalled software 2 times, downloaded all updates from Dymo. Still same ol nightmare on windows 7. I tried running the software in windows XP compatibility mode on my windows 7 machine, it still would not work correctly. I took this dymo to my older XP computer, and it loaded up and works flawless.

I do not recommend this item for any windows 7 PC. If you have a XP machine, I HIGHLY recommend. The software is very simple to use,and makes very clear and nice prints.

I ordered this because I need to print postage and address labels on a regular basis.

When it arrived I learned the hard way that postage and address labels use different types of tape and that it is quite a pain to switch back and forth between the two.

The product you (and I) need for printing both postage and address labels is the DYMO Label Writer Twin Turbo.

Maybe someone from Dymo will see this post and update the product description here.

Avery Laser & Ink Jet White 3 x 5 Inch Index Cards 150 Count (5388) Save 34% off

Avery Laser & Ink Jet White 3 x 5 Inch Index Cards 150 Count
  • Convenient do-it-yourself cards mean that you can make changes and print new cards as your business needs change
  • Made from high-quality card stock for a sturdy look and feel
  • Design and print from your desktop in minutes
  • Print only the number of cards you need
  • Compatible with all inkjet and laser printers

These are great if you want to make flash cards, but you are like me and don''t care to hand write them all. I use images from my online textbooks and sometimes the definitions from those textbooks as well. Using the envelopes and labels option in word, I am able to easily format these, and print them out. For double sided use, I just flip over the stack and get answer and question on the same card. This is cheaper for me than purchasing pre-made flash cards, and they are durable enough for me to pass on when I am finished with them.

As a current medical student, flash cards save me a great deal of time when I am reviewing. This product, especially at this price is one with which I am greatly pleased.

I ALWAYS buy Avery stuff to use, and thought it would just be easier to get it on Amazon rather than go to the office supply store. I did not get the blue and yellow package, I received two beat up off-white packages (that looked like they''d been opened before and with tattered corners) with EVERYTHING labeled in Spanish. Then when I opened them, they weren''t heavyweight at all. They were flimsy and barely thicker than a regular piece of paper. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE, perhaps if they were the actual ones that I thought I was getting I could rate them higher.

I''ve been a user of 3 x 5 cards for decades. There''s always a stack of them in my shirt pocket, though I do admit to not using them consistently.

Right now, I''m working on a project that requires me to catalog dozens of snippets from various sources and then integrate them into my writing. Typical outlining programs won''t handle this well, so it''s back to the index cards. Fortunately, one of my outlining programs handles output to the Avery cards.

You can also use them with Microsoft Word, FileMaker, Access and any other program that lets you format your print output.

These things tear neatly and accept laser or inkjet output.

Brutally expensive when compared to ordinary index cards, but incomparably handy. Worth the price when you need a foolproof method of printing index cards. The regular ones often don''t get along with some actually many printers.

First off -you''re paying for quality card stock. But the results don''t look that great.

Second -again you are paying for quality -the tears are not that that neat. You have to go back and tear off little pieces small enough to be hard to grip.

Third -let''s see a three by five card on 8.5 x 11 sheet. You could put four on this and they only have three. You throw away a lot of paper -and get 25% fewer cards.

In summation, you are paying too much. I''m buying a paper cutter.

Brother DCP-8085dn Digital Copier and Laser Printer

Brother DCP-8085dn Digital Copier and Laser Printer w/Full Duplex Capability and Networking
  • Up to 32ppm monochrome print and copy speed
  • Up to 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolution
  • Full Automatic Duplex - Print/Copy/Scan
  • Legal size document glass
  • 300 sheet paper capacity

Contrary to one of the erroneous reviews, the Brother 8085DN DOES support duplex scanning and copying. That is why you pay $50-75 more than the 8080DN, which only does duplex printing.

We have the 8080DN and this series of Brother printers is FANTASTIC -an amazingly powerful business printer for the price of a personal printer. These things are well built, meant for a busy workgroup/small business setting. My wife runs a small nonprofit and has to print board packets and this thing just cranks them out. It will happily print two-sided packets and collate them -it will go hours of printing without a hiccup. Duplex printing is much slower than one sided printing -DUH, that is true of ANY printer. You''re not going to get high duplex speed until you get into the corporate printers.

We have also owned the Canon ImageClass duplexing printer. The Canons are terrific, very trouble free personal printer. But there is a HUGE catch -their $65 toner cartridge will only go about 1,000 pages.

The biggest selling point for this printer -the Brother 8000 series can use a high yield cartridge (about $85, or less if you feel comfortable using a remanufacture) that is rated at a whopping 8000 pages!!!

We do a lot of printing, so I researched extensively, and Brother is in a class by itself for cartridge capacity and low print costs for this class of printer. I highly recommend anything in the 8000 series.

The only reason you might not want this printer for a home office is that it is BIG. But you can''t get performance like this in anything smaller that I know of.

Other good things:

1) Energy Star compliant. In sleep mode this printer only draws 18 watts to keep the drum warm. You''d be surprised how many printers eat 40 or 50 watts in standby mode, which will cost you $30 or $40 over a year''s time. Energy Star means first page speed is not quite as good as the little HPs, but it''s still only like 12 seconds.

2) This printer has TRUE networking capability -no need for print server. That means the only connection you need is ethernet from your router to the printer. Install drivers, and every computer on the network can control this printer completely -that means scanning as well. I can''t tell you how much better that is than having a USB printer that has to be shared. Brother seems to have high quality drivers -we''ve connected XP, Vista and Win 7 without a hitch.

To sum up, everything about this printer speaks of quality and durability. It is just incredible what you can get for $300-$350 these days.

Buy Brother DCP-8085dn Digital Copier and Laser Printer Now

I have been using the DCP-8085dn at home for about 4 weeks and am extremely happy with its performance. I was mainly looking for a decent scanner with duplexing capability to scan the family records we have to PDF (which is a mountain of paper). I was also fed up with inkjet printers because we don''t print much and with our past printers, the ink cartridges (usually nearly full) would dry up between printing. The black&white (gray-scale) laser printer does a great job for home use.

A great additional feature is the networking capability. Since our home was pre-wired for a home network, although I am new to networking of any kind, I found the installation and setup easy to follow and it went pretty much without a hitch. I have a 2 TB Western Digital network storage device (NAS) attached to the network. We use a router that also offers wireless connections. So now the entire family can print directly to the printer from any device (with a printing capability) connected to the home network. Also, the DCP-8085dn can be set up to scan to a folder on the network. I chose to set up a scans folder on the NAS, so I don''t have to use a PC to make a scan. I can walk up to the DCP-8085dn and place a stack of papers in the document feeder, hit a few buttons to access presets that I set up, hit the green start button and walk away. When done I can have image files or PDF''s waiting for me in the scans folder.

A few notes:

(1) Even though it might look like one from the picture, this isn''t one of those huge Ricoh or Canon copier/scanners like one might find in an office setting that can scan 100 sheets front and back in a matter of a couple minutes at a decent DPI. It is smaller and slower. But for home use and for the price, I think it''s perfectly acceptable.

(2) The DCP-8085dn does not have a fax capability. But instead you get full duplex capability when copying, scanning and printing. Since I never send or receive faxes at home, this wasn''t even a consideration for me.

(3) DUPLEX SCANNING NOTE: ALTHOUGH THE SCANNING GLASS IS LARGE ENOUGH TO SCAN LEGAL DOCUMENTS (8.5" x 14"), WHEN USING THE DOCUMENT FEEDER IN DUPLEX MODE, YOU CAN''T SCAN DOCUMENTS MUCH LARGER THAN LETTER SIZED (8.5" x 11"). IF YOU PLAN TO SCAN A DOCUMENT WITH PAGES LONGER THAN 11", YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES: USE THE DOCUMENT FEEDER BUT ONLY SCAN ONE-SIDED, THEN REDO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOCUMENT ONE-SIDED OR DO IT MANUALLY ON THE FLATBED. THIS WAS ACTUALLY A SLIGHT DISAPPOINTMENT FOR ME, SINCE THE DCP-8085dn CAN HANDLE LENGTHY MULTI-PAGE LEGAL DOCUMENTS WITHOUT A PROBLEM MANUALLY. Although I''m not certain, I suspect that the issue has to do with the available space the document feeder has to flip a page over. Any thing up to 11" in length can be flipped over, but anything longer can''t. If you decide to scan a double-sided document one side at a time, you will need software to edit PDF pages to put them in order. This has not been a deal breaker for me, as most documents I have a letter sized or smaller. But it might not be suitable for someone looking to scan loads of legal sized documents.

(4) SCAN QUALITY NOTE: ALTHOUGH THE DOCUMENT FEEDER''S QUALITY IS ACCEPTABLE FOR MY ARCHIVING PURPOSES, IT TENDS TO WARP THE IMAGE SLIGHTLY. SCANNED PAGES (VIA THE DOCUMENT FEEDER) TEND TO HAVE A CURVE OR BOW DOWN THE PAGE. IF I WANT A REALLY GOOD SCAN I HAVE TO MANUALLY SCAN USING THE FLATBED. WHEN USING THE FLATBED, I DON''T GET THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE CURVE/BOW. SO, IF YOU NEED AN EXACT COPY WITHOUT DISTORTION, YOU''LL NEED TO MANUALLY SCAN AND NOT USE THE DOCUMENT FEEDER. For my purposes, the convenience of the document feeder outweighs the acceptable slight distortion it produces over standing at that the DCP-8085dn and manually scanning documents.

Over all, I am extremely pleased with the DCP-8085dn. I have been using the scanner like crazy working on eliminating that mountain of paper. It''s slow progress, but I''m getting there thanks to the DCP-8085dn.

I recommend the DCP-8085dn to anyone looking for a home-use scanner with duplexing capabilities (except as noted above). It''s a good printer and copier, too. Furthermore, the networking is a bonus that you should take advantage of if you can.

Read Best Reviews of Brother DCP-8085dn Digital Copier and Laser Printer Here

After reading and re-reading several reviews, I chose to purchase the Brother DCP-8085dn for my home network: 3 macs and 1 vista machine. It works flawlessly: it duplex prints, scans, AND copies. Truly, an all in one. Installation for the macs was easy. I had all three networked (!) within 10 minutes. Total. The Vista machine took considerably longer. (I blame Vista, not Brother).

Word of note for you mac users: double check your CPU usage after you install the software. One of the installed drivers (which isn''t necessary for full function I proved that last night) chews up CPU cycles and battery life on your laptop. Reference this Apple Support Discussion for easy solution (just delete it):

I love this printer. I wish I''d bought it sooner.

Want Brother DCP-8085dn Digital Copier and Laser Printer Discount?

I purchased my Digital Copier and Laser Printer for use in my home office. It turned out to be even better than I expected for the price. This is not one of those flimsy built printers that you find connected to home computers. This is a serious piece of office equipment and built quite sturdy. The print quality is excellent; sharp and non-smearing. Most multi-purpose paper seems to work in this machine. I like all the functions and features and this is top-notch equipment and I have used and tried many brands and styles of equipment in my 45 year career working in business offices. I would recommend to anyone. One special note is the multi-purpose feeder tray is at the back of the printer and would not be easily accessible up against a wall.

I''ve had the DCP-8085DN for a couple of days. I''m very pleased with the performance. My only disappointment is with the multipurpose tray which I had anticipated using for envelopes. The multipurpose tray is described has having a capacity of 50 sheets--in use you learn that this is the capacity for plain paper--it only will accept about 3 envelopes. Using the multipurpose tray is also a bit of a hassle--rear & front doors must be lowered while in use. I considered buying the optional 2nd tray for use with envelopes; then discovered in the manual these words, "envelopes can only be fed from the multipurpose tray." By the way, the one #10 envelope that I tried printing, crinkled severely. Otherwise I am more than pleased.
