I have a Canon IP3000 and had no problems using this paper. Unlike many reviewers, I am very satisfied with the quality and even the size. The size is 4x6.5, but it''s a benefit really, because you don''t end up touching the photo when it has finished printing. Instead of smudging the ink or leaving a fingerprint on the photo that extra room along the side or bottom helps... and can easily be cut away later. I ran out of Canon Photo Pro Paper while printing my vacation pics, and had a 20 piece trial pack of the Kodak Ultima Picture Paper that I broke out to try. I printed the same picture on both papers and the Kodak doesn''t even come close to the quality of the Canon! Both papers were supposed to be glossy, but the Kodak is almost matte. The Kodak paper also seemed to be more pixellated looking, while the Canon paper is photo lab quality. I do not recommend Kodak Ultima Picture Paper (unless you are getting it near free, and giving the pictures to someone you don''t really like that much).Want Kodak 8920647 Ultima Picture Paper Discount?
I got this paper to use with the Kodak C310 photo dock and the paper has no borders to tear off like the ones that came with the camera so the dock will not pull the paper through and keeps saying paper error.These prints last so long, and the paper is Kodak quality, producing great pictures!

If you''re a student, avoid this printer! Four out of five of my classes require printing and bringing articles that the instructor uploaded online, and after about a week of use the ink runs out! I am a light user. I''d printed maybe 200 pages over the 6 months I''ve owned it. Documents only. When it worked, it worked well enough -no complaints about the print quality; mainly text.BUT -two weeks ago I printed a few pages with no problems, turned it off, turned it on a few hours later, and was greeted by the main green display blinking an alternating "3" and an "E". It could not be reset and it would not accept any print jobs.
The supplied software diagnosed a paper jam and suggested I clear it. The thing is, there was no paper in the printer at all, not even a jammed scrap, so there was nothing to clear.
The online help suggested turning it off, unplugging everything including the power cable, and waiting a while. (???) I did so, waiting 3 hours. Problem remained.
Emailed Canon, giving them all the details, including of course the printer model. Four days later they write back asking me to give them the model name again. I did, and that was the last I''ve heard from them.
Maybe mine was defective. Still, Canon is not doing much to remedy the defect. Meanwhile I can''t print.
UPDATE
Remembering I''d bought an extended "whatever happens" warranty from the retailer (Currys Digital), I took it back to them. They gave me a new one without any hassle. The new one worked fine a for a few months (printing some 300-400 pages), but then the very same problem happened. Seems like a design flaw rather than coincidence. Avoid this one.

I bought this printer in October 2008 after reading several positive reviews. I would like to offer a strongly dissenting opinion!The printer barely lasted a year before the paper feed broke. Mind you, I used this strictly for the occasional home print job. No photos, just text. I doubt I printed more than 100 pages in the year I had it. Yet it still broke. When I contacted tech support, they told me it would cost more than the printer was worth to fix it.
I contacted Canon "customer service," but was informed that it only has a 90-day warranty. Clearly, they expect this to break quickly. I don''t consider a printer a disposable item, but Canon sure must. Worse than the useless warranty was the fact that Canon didn''t offer to rectify the situation at all. My last printer was an Epson. It also broke after the warranty had expired, but when I contacted THEM, they agreed that the printer should not have broken under such light use. Epson provided me with a replacement printer free of charge. Even shipping was included. Canon, on the other hand, wouldn''t even admit that it was ridiculous for a printer to break so quickly. Their only response was to offer me a ''Loyalty Bonus'' of 15% off my next Canon printer. As if I would ever buy one of their shoddy products again! No thanks.
BTW The scanner is useless, as well, producing images that are absolutely unreadable. All in all, a disappointing piece of junk. I will NEVER buy a Canon product again after dealing with their incredibly poor customer service.
After wasting far too much of my time, I bought a comparable HP printer. After fifteen minute set-up it has worked flawlessly right out of the box.

I have been using Burlington for my greeting cards for years and with my HP All-In-One have never experienced a jam (knock on wood!). It reproduces my graphics very well and though photos are better with photo paper, this card stock does quite well in my opinion! I bought Avery because I was running low on card stock and had some cards to make. I was disappointed in the quality compared to that of Burlington. Avery is flimsy. After reading all the "5-star" reviews, I was expecting the card stock to be comparably to decent store bought cards. It''s probably closer to cheap cards bought from the "Dollar Store". That said, I primarily bought them so I could print personalized messages inside and attach photographs to the front (therefore increasing the overall thickness) so they''re fine for my needs. (2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) I''ve been using Avery 5160 return address labels for years, so I was interested in how the "Easy Peel" differed from the older ones I still had. When I took the first sheet out of the box, I was immediately concerned about the weight of the backing; the sheets seemed much flimsier than those I had remaining in my old box, a choice obviously made in the interest of the pop-up edges. Once I printed a sheet of both and compared the labels themselves, they seemed comparable. However, a couple of issues emerged: it was slightly more difficult to manually insert a sheet of the Easy Peel so that the labels lined up correctly because the sheets were more likely to bow, and printed labels stored in a file folder were more likely to catch and come off when pulled in and out. Despite this, these labels maintain the Avery quality the company has been known for, and they stick well and completely to envelopes. Note: these labels are for laser printers, not for inkjets.The Easy Peel feature is only marginally better than the old style, which I never found difficult to remove. Here, you fold the sheet along each row, and a small portion of the labels'' ends pop up. It definitely can save time if you''re doing a lot of mailing/labeling; however, most people won''t care. I appreciated the feed arrows since I always forget which end should be up when feeding manually. I printed ten sheets out of the box, in rapid succession, and other than the lining up issue noted above, every sheet came out smoothly and perfectly printed.
Although Microsoft Word has the necessary template for these labels in its project gallery, buyers can also get the correct template at the Avery website (address supplied on the box).
I''ve used several different brands of mailing labels, and I always come back to Avery. Despite the lighter backing of these labels to enable the "Easy Peel," the labels themselves maintain the same high quality. I just wish the ease of removal could be combined with a slightly heavier/stiffer backing. Five stars for the label quality, three stars for the Easy Peel design.

I love labels, or anything that makes life easier. I am very organized, both at work and at home. Labels make things so much more convenient and quicker.I love these labels. They don''t necessarily have to be used with a printer they can be written on. And the reason I say this, is because these labels are for Laser Printers, and I have ink jet printers. Therefore, I can still use these, because I can write on them rather than running them through the printer.
There are a variety of uses for labels. In addition to addresses, files, and other office reasons, they can be used for jars, boxes, etc.

Avery has always been good to work with, The background is always very bright white. If your printer is good, they never fail giving a clear great contrast. I have started to use P-Touch which is much faster. However if you don''t have a label maker such as P-Touch then this is the label paper for you. User friendly and most word processors have it built into there data base for your use.

I had another (store) brand of self sealing envelopes before these and assumed these Mead envelopes would be the same. I was wrong. These are made of thiner paper making it feel cheaper and making me concerned whether the seams would hold when more than a couple pages were inserted. Also, many of the envelopes were crinkled up in the corners already. I don''t know if this is a manufacturing defect or damage from shipping. But I was disappointed. So it is obviously better then licking envelopes all day.The problem with this one is that the "press-it seal-it" does not go all the way to corners, and tends to leave them sticking up.
I had to tape the corners down.

I had an epson sylus photo 825 printer and that was a ink guzzler it would finish the ink even if i didnt use it for the month "Really strange"; not really because companies do this so u spend money on their ink which cost 20-30 a pop for epson. So i decided to go with the HPf4180. I think im still in the same boat because it drinks ink but not as much as the epson. It has little brackets that tell you how much ink youve wasted whenever you print. This bracket goes down about 1/4 of a notch each time, and thats using the B&W with fast printing the cheapest effective way; also thats just priting 1 sheet!!!I hope HP''s "Bracket" is not an accurate count and still prints even when the notch reaches low, unlike the epson which WOULD NOT print once the bracket was at the low. Which was BS. Hopefully HP is different. On a scale of 1-10 its a 7 because of the price. Staples has it for 60.00 and it comes with both inks; Each ink cost about 20 bucks, works out.
Another excellent feature is the copier, you computer doesnt need to be on. Just press the power button, then press one button (Copy in B&W or color) and done, super user friendly and convenient!!!

Bought this printer about two months back.Installation took a long time. That is ok since it has a lot of features which take a while to install. BUT here is what happened.
Started installation after 10mins says "You need to be Administrator".
So ran the program again as "RUN AS Administrator". After about 10-15mins says "You need to be real adminsitrator".
Why could it not say that at the beginning and saved us a lot of time.
The main problem with this printer is that it runs out of ink really fast. Too fast. We are now on the 2nd cartridge and we do not print much.
Hope we can return in to the store. It has been used less than a dozen times. We only printed a few forms(B&W) and I dont want to spend $15 on another cartridge. Other than that the printer prints fine, great features and quality printing.
We had another HP deskjet before and only changed the ink cartridge once in about 2 years.

When I got it, it looked like a storage box. When I tryed to print, it made all kind of loud noises and the paper jamed continuosly. Many carriage stalled message error. I was wrong.
I spent about twelve hours trying to get the software installed under Windows
XP. I first tried the software on the CD and then the updated software on the
Web. Both installation processes seemed to hang at the end and not complete. I
had some partial functionality but every time I booted XP the incompleted
installation would try to create a second and then a third copy of the
printer. Then I moved to HP''s online chat support (telephone support has been
long discontinued) and after about six hours and five different agents, it
still wasn''t working. The last agent promised to email me her solution, a
"Level 4 uninstall", which I didn''t get until hours after I had, at the end of
my rope, returned the HP F4180 and purchased an Epson CX8400 All-In-One which,
true to its older brother, the CX3810, installed out-of-the-box
perfectly. And, for five dollars more, the CX8400 has "ten times" the
capability of the F4180.
In fairness to HP, the F4180 *did* run on my Linux box and my virtual Windows
XP box running under Linux. Also, while their online chat support didn''t fix
my problem, their instructions were usually clear, if ineffective.
After this ordeal, I will never buy an HP Deskjet again. I write these words
sadly as I worked for HP in the early 80''s when the name HP was synonymous
with quality. No longer.

The inks are basically the same, where do you think the OEM company gets the ink? In order to charge more to cover overhead and profits the OEM companies develop things like chips to "read'' the ink. When you buy a remanufactured ink product they will not have the chip and "CAN" read empty misleading people into thinking the cartridges are partially empty and they got a bad deal. In reality they just dont have the chip so the computer misreads the info. It is simple to go into the printer software and turn off the chip reading service and everything will work fine except the ink level readings. They arent really accurate anyway. If getting an inaccurate reading of how much ink you have left is that important to you then you will need to buy the expensive OEM ink for that feature. If you want the same ink just a lot cheaper, remanfactured is a much more economical choice. Be sure to check out the company selling the remanufactured cartridges as with all companies selling anything on the internet, some are good and some are bad. The OEM companies have strict guidelines and only buy from the good companies. You need to research and do the same if you decide to buy remanufactured. The cheapest option normally isnt the best, It''s the chepest for a reason. There are several reputable companies here in the USA and regulations are more stringent. I would look for that 1st.
Also keep in mind all black inks from either are not the same, some are for Photo and some are for printing. An example is the HP Black XL 800 pages and the HP Black XL photo 290 pages. It is confusing if one dosn''t read the box for the intended use. The photo cartridge actually has a greyish color and is for photo usage only and is not interchanable with the Black XL.
If you are in any way handy, several people find buying refill kits easy and the most economical way to significantly reduce printing cost.
Ink is ink for the most part. When it cost more to buy ink than it did to buy the printer you have to ask yourself how the OEM companies "really" make their profits. Especially, when they dont manufacture the cartridges or the ink they put their name on. They purchase BOTH from the companies that ARE selling them to you as remanufactured at a discount for obvious reasons. Are the OEM cartridges and ink really better just because they stuck a label with their name on it and charge us a 300% mark up for a chip?
You will have to decide, but be educated and know your options before you spend.

I loved my HP Photosmart D7360 Printer which used the 02 ink cartridges. The colors were clear and bright and the 02 individual ink cartridges ($9.99) lasted longer than the tri-color cartridges. I would only replace the ink that was low.My new HP photosmart D7560 uses the 564 ink cartridges which were the same price as the 02, however the 564($9.99) ink cartridges don''t last as long. To print the same amount of pictures as the 02 cartridges I have to purchase the 564XL ($18.99) cartridges which are 2x the cost!
I was very disappointed that with the newer models the standard ink cartridges now have less ink and the color is not as vivid. HP printers have always performed well for me the the cost and volume of the 564 have been a disappointment!

Update, April, 2012. I just had to replace my Photosmart printer. It was about 3 years old, and I have "upgraded" to a new model through HP, for a small amount of money. I still use the same type of cartridges, and have replaced many since this post. Have not managed to "break" another one...but I do safeguard my stuff and my clothes whenever I am opening the new cartridges, because they have not changed the design so far. I have had to call tech support a few times over these years, and aside from the language barrier.....they have always taken care of me.I purchased a set of five replacement cartridges recently (not really a set, I had to get them from a few different Amazon sellers) because my printer was new (Photosmart Premium, which I LOVE) and I figured that the cartridges which came with it would not last long. Actually, I did a LOT of printing with them. However, when replacement time came, I took out the black xl (not the photo black), twisted the "arm" off of it (I HATE this system they use to get open their cartridges for placement in the printer) and ARRRRGGGGG...the entire "cap" thing came off, spilling black ink everywhere. RUINED my yellow LL Bean shirt, ink in my keyboard, ink on my synthesizer (Kork workstation which sits beside my computer table)...it was a dreadful mess, and three days later, my fingers are still stained.
Anyway, I called HP tech support, who referred me to the design department (which is, I hear, working on a DIFFERENT design because of this problem.) They have overnighted me a replacement cartridge! For free, of course. So even though the design of these cartridges stinks, HP service has always come through for me.

Someone once observed to me that printer manufacturers were sort of like drug dealers: They lure you in with the free or cheap product (the printer) and then they trap you and break you as you keep coming back for more (the ink). My photosmart premium works wonderfully. I just feel as though these ink cartridges are empty almost as soon as you put them in. I tried refurbished cartridges but they seem to screw up the printer. So, they have me hooked. Either I kick the printing habit or I continue to shoot this cyan, magenta and yellow substance down my drains.

I needed to replace my ancient basic Brother laser printer (which at the time many years ago, cost over $500 as I recall).Samsung had the reputation of relatively low-quality in the past, though they have been more committed to quality these last few years. I overcame my initial "brand aversion" after reading a few good reviews here and elsewhere.
So far, I''ve haven''t printed very much (as expected) but I did just print out a 131-page instruction manual on some cheap grocery-store brand paper stock without a hitch.
Not particularly quiet, but that is not a concern of mine.
A couple nice features that I''ll probably never use include being able to print a "watermark" such as "Sample" or "Confidential" on the first or all pages, rotating the print, and shrinking to fit the page.
One option I recommend is the "toner saver mode", accessible from the interface or a button on the printer. Although you get a "starter" toner cartridge, replacements go for about $79, though re-charged ones might be available for less.
I scavenged a USB cord from my scanner, and hooked it up that way although there is a parallel port option. You need your own cable in either case.

My present inkjet printer is great for small jobs and color printing, but it lacks the speed that I need when printing lots of text. I printed a 265 page document, (which took about 40 minutes) and went to the copy center to make three more. When they told me how much it would cost, I realized that for the price of three copies, I could just go and buy my own personal laser printer. I did some comparative shopping and ended up with the economy minded Samsung ML 1740 laser printer. Here are my first impressions (no pun intended) of this printer.The unit comes packaged with toner, the printer itself, manuals, CD installation disk, power cord, but no USB cable. You''ll have to provide that yourself. The printer is a very compact unit and is about the size of a small microwave oven. The whole body of the printer is made of plastic, rather fragile looking, but nice. Setup took less than twenty minutes and is simple as falling off a long. After installing the necessary software, and connecting the USB cable from the printer to my computer, I printed out a test page which was very sharp and clear. The printer is easy to load with paper and has a 250 page capacity. Very nice. Paper exit trays are from the top of the printer or from the rear exit. You can choose which exit the paper comes out of. Generally speaking, the top exit is good for general printing, and the rear exit is for printing envelopes or thicker paper stock. The rear paper exit is ''straight through'' compared to the top exit which makes the paper do a ''U-turn'' before coming out.
The printer is very user friendly and has great software.(Note: From reports, this printer does not seem to work with Macs.) I was able to print up that 265 page document without a hitch. There is a toner saver button on the top of the printer. When this button is activated, the printer only uses 40% of the toner, which extends the life of the cartridge. Since I was only printing out text, the difference between full mode and toner saver mode was not important. The full toner mode looks richer and darker, but the saver mode was quite acceptalbe in quality. After finishing, I needed to print up a 225 page manual for my digital camera. I was able to print up four images to a page with the Samsung printer software, and shrunk the entire manual down to just 57 pages. There were quite a few photos and halftone illustrations in the manual. These turned out very good, even in the save toner mode. The dpi (dots per inch) is 600dpi or 300dpi for this printer. I found that 600dpi is just fine for text. The characters and letters were very sharp with no ''jaggies''. This little unit produces quite a bit of heat, so the ML-1740 has a powerful fan to keep the printer cool. I didn''t find the fan noise distracting or irritating. The printer cartridge will give you about 1,000 printed pages in regular mode and about 60% more in toner saver mode. The cartridge that comes with this printer is a ''starter'' cartridge, which means it is not completely filled with the standard amount of toner. Though there have been some gripes about this, it is easy enough to refill the spent cartridge with a refill kit at a fraction of the cost in buying a new one.

I got this printer for home use after years of using super-fancy laser printers at my office. (...) the printer is pretty amazing: excellent text quality, good graphics, and extremely fast printing (even at 600dpi). I would not use this printer to print all my family pictures on it, but for any graphics you''d come across it will do fine.Setting it up was trivial with Win98 and XP. If you use linux, the setup utility will blow you away: it provides all the functionality and controls of the windows driver. It literally took about 2 minutes to set up under Mandrake 9.2 with CUPS (using the USB port). Go Samsung, go Linux!
I''ve read reviews complaining about the noise level of the printer... I find it pretty normal, nothing to worry about.
I am not sure how well it will last since I''ve only had it for a few hours, but again from other reviews it seems there are no major problems.
I''ve set mine to use the "toner save" feature and I can''t see any degradation in the quality of the printouts.
Anyway. Get this printer and you won''t be sorry!
We bought a Samsung ML1740 from a company other than Amazon. We chose it mainly because it was such a good price--about $88, quite a bit cheaper than the HP LaserJet 1012. It also had some nice features, particularly the large lock-in paper tray.
We set it all up and printed a page and it seemed quite a snazzy little printer. It wasn''t until later that I realized the page had printed off center by over 1/8 of an inch. In other words, quite noticeably.
I called Samsung and told the CS person my problem. He suggested that I change the margins. I assumed he meant that there was a magical way to change the margin settings within the printer software. But no, it turned out he was suggesting I change the margins within the word-processing program for every single document I printed! He said that''s just how this printer is and that the one he had on his end printed off center as well, albeit not as drastically. Apparently the print head is stuck in there a certain way and there''s no way to recalibrate it. Overall, he gave the impression that he thought I was unrealistic and overdemanding to expect this printer to center the print job on the page. He did admit, however, that he had received other calls on this issue.
Well, I was pretty steamed about this at first, but when I cooled off I decided to give the 1740 another chance. The price was so good! So we drove significantly out of our way to another version of the company where we got the first one (the original store was out of stock). Got home, set it up, turned it on. It started warming up, kept warming up, kept warming up, and after a while it started to smell kind of hot and dangerous, and still it kept warming up...
Our first 1740 had a loud warm-up period of about 10 seconds or so. This one never printed one page due to its apparently permanent warm-up phase. Fearing it might explode, and considering that this might possibly be a sign that the 1740 was not the printer for us, I boxed the second one up and exchanged it for the HP LaserJet 1012.
The 1012 has worked perfectly from page one, has no obnoxious warm-up noise, and, aside from a rather strange software setup, has given us exactly zero problems to date. The printer it replaced was an HP 5L, which worked great for over 10 years with very few and minor problems. I should have known better than to let the allure of a low price cause me to ignore a product with a proven record.
This was my first Samsung product and so far I am not impressed, not just with the quality of the product but also with the peculiar attitude of at least one of their CS reps. Will I buy Samsung in the future? I haven''t decided, but right now it doesn''t look good.

Pantone books are a must if you are a designer. I got this set as I needed it for my freelance work. The pages are thinner than the older Pantone books but they are also a lot less expensive to buy than Pantone books used to be. It is worth mentioning that I did have an issue with the Neon book, it looked like on one page it was damaged when it was printed. The type was offset slightly and there was a fold in the page. I don''t know if this was an isolated case or whether they all printed like that, but all the other books in the set were fine. Other than the Neon Book issue the books are great and for something that is extremely useful to a designer well worth buying for this price!
