HP Q8842A Color Laser Glossy Photo Paper Save 53% off

HP Q8842A Color Laser Glossy Photo Paper, 4 x 6 Inches, 100 Sheets
  • Color Laser Glossy Photo Paper
  • 4 x 6 in Paper that Meets Postal Service Requirements
  • Get Durable Photos with Print Shop Quality
  • Resist Smudging
  • Prints Will Dry Instantly and Resist Smearing and Scratches

The print quality on this is just the same as you''ll get with the HP Photo Paper or the HP Glossy Brochure paper. I wish it were a little thicker, but it''s close to the typical thickness you''d get from having photos printed at a professional place.

Depending on your printer, you may have to set up a custom print size as not all HP printers have 4x6 as a default option. I found that using the "ICM Printer" option in color management turned out better for me than the ICM Printer Calibration, ICM Host System or ICM disabled (ICM is an option in the HP printer driver). I use a laserjet 2550N.

I never have had any jamming issues or anything with this paper. I always use the manual feed tray.

While HP has matte, satin and glossy, once the toner is applied to the paper, the toner itself is pretty darn matte so for me, it really doesn''t matter what surface the paper has as long as it''s not like inkjet.

Not quite the brilliance and definition from the InkJet photo printer, but perfectly fine for most uses. Appreciate the speed and the fact that the "ink" is dry when it comes out of the laser printer.

This works with my color laser printer, but the quality really isn''t as good as my color ink jet printers. I guess there''s no getting around having to pay for the horrible ink costs of an ink jet when it comes to printing photos.

I really like the photo because it seem to be the only photo paper I can use with my laser paper that doesn''t streak. I will be ordering from this seller in the near future. Hope he have more of the photo paper.

PVC ID Card Making Kit - Inkjet Printer

PVC ID Card Making Kit - Inkjet Printer - Qty - No Laminator Needed
  • Makes Real PVC (Plastic Card/Credit Card) ID Cards with Holograms
  • No Laminator Needed. Works with All Regular Inkjet Printers.
  • 8 - 30 Mil Hico (Magnetic Stripe) PVC Cards
  • 8 - Key and Seal ID Holograms
  • 8 - Protective Laminate Overlays

This Kit is Garbageyou cant print on to the card itself you have to first print on a plastic sheet and then transfer that image to the card. And to keep the image from smearing put an overlay on top of that. I used a Epson R280 printer and the quality of image is horrible, even at multiple settings. The sheet they give just cant absorb the ink. Ive let them know about their product and haven''t gotten a response back. If you are looking for a inkjet PVC card look for one that you can print directly on to the card, because THIS KIT IS GARBAGE.

first off this kit was missing 1 of the printing sheets but one email later and it was in the mail. the sheets print insanly nicly and dry quickly. one dry they are hard to smugg unless you get water on them. this is why insted of cutting and then applying like the instructions say you should apply and the take an exacto nife around the card to cut out....water is used on the addhisive backing thats why i mention this. i hope to soon have a youtube video out explaining how to use the kit.

This ID making kit is excellent. Student IDs, driver''s licenses, corporate IDs, this kit does it all. Of course the magnetic strip doesn''t actually work, so you can''t use these cards to get into corporate headquarters (and you definitely shouldn''t give them to a cop if you get pulled over!) but they work fine in most everyday situations. They get an A+ in bar light or if you''re just using them to copy a friend''s museum membership card or Six Flags season pass.

However, I have to say the best ID card I''ve made with this kit is for Goldman Sachs. Those guys get free admission to museums, better seating at restaurants, access to executive washrooms around the city (the good ones), and a discount rate on parking tickets. Man, I had a great time with that thing until some snooty maƮtre d'' told me "Money Inspector" wasn''t a real job title.

Oh well, good thing I can make seven more! These guys should also make a passport kit and paper that looks like social security cards.

  • High Glossy finish
  • High Quality 69lb paper (225g)
  • 10.4 mil Thickness

This product, Kirkland Signature Professional Glossy Inkjet Photo Paper 8.5 x 11 Inch is the best that I have used in inkjet printing. I have used several different types of inkjet printers. Currently I am using an Epson R800. With this Kirkland paper, the printer turns out professional quality photographs that seem truer to color than other types of paper.

As I compare the photos in the print programs, and in the actual outdoor scenes, I can see the color and detail difference between this paper and others that I have tried.

Canon Pixma MX300 Office All-On-One Inkjet Printer (2182B002)

Canon Pixma MX300 Office All-On-One Inkjet Printer
  • All-in-one printer can preview, scan, copy, print, and fax
  • Color resolution up to 4800 x 1200 dpi
  • Easy Scroll Wheel for increased usability
  • Auto-Image Fix ensures every photo is clear and vivid
  • 1-Year limited warranty

I''ve owned the MX300 for about two months now. If you''re sure about your priorities, this MFP could be fine for you -it is for me. I mainly print text documents of 5 pages or less for my own use -I don''t need the best text quality. I also wanted the ability to fax, but I don''t need to fax more than a page or two every week. I receive a few pages a week as well.

Overall, the MX300 was easy to set up. I wasn''t sure how well it would work with my single-line digital phone from Time Warner. The instructions were of little help with fax setup, but it wasn''t difficult to figure out, and it works well. Fax quality is very good, very legible.

Photo output is mixed. The smoothness and color is good --it''s just that the color is really not accurate at all. Color scans also have this problem. If you can calibrate your monitor to the printer, you can get better color, but I find color is pretty far off from the originals. So if color isn''t that important to you, photos are fine.

One nice aspect is the small footprint compared to other MFPs, which was a priority for me. Be aware that the ''starter'' ink cartridges that come with this model won''t last long -mine gave out after only a couple of weeks of low-volume printing. The printer will SAY it''s out of ink before it actually is (you can turn off the ink monitor if you poke around in the menu). Replacement cartridges cost nearly $45 -I''m still using the full cartridges, so not sure how long they will last.

Overall, this MFP works well for me -it''s small (though very noisy)and it can fax (send/receive) and it was cheap.

I use my MX300 for printing, scanning, and faxing. I haven''t used it for photos and do not plan to use it for that. The MX300 was super easy to install. It works great only issue is that the cartridges are expensive and the MX300 uses the ink fast. I have owned the computer about 4 months and have just had to install the 3rd set of cartridges. The cartridges are PRICY for such an inexpensive printer thus though the MX300 works well, I may have to buy something else within the year.

I was excited about this all-in-one based on reviews, but I quickly discovered that its scanner--though entirely decent--had a smaller scanning bed than my 5-year-old stand alone scanner (so much for getting rid of that). The far bigger problem is that it goes through ink carts really fast and will refuse to print if it feels unhappy with its ink levels. I don''t know what a better inexpensive Mac-friendly printer is, but I''m pretty sure there''s got to be one and I wish I''d found it before I''d voted with my dollar.

Want Canon Pixma MX300 Office All-On-One Inkjet Printer (2182B002) Discount?

I''m very pleased with this item, especially the scanning option. It''s very fast and the copies are as good as a copier.

The unit is large, but that was understood before I purchased it. Paper trays do not handle much. The unit does not weigh much at all. However, the quality and speed for a light duty machine are very good. Print detail using my MAC is excellent. For a student, your parents, or as a backup for the home office, this unit is perfect. As with many printers like this, color ink tanks are small, therefore, set the printer default to b/w, and save the color for when you really need it, especially when printing pages off the web.

HP 02 C8721WN#140 Ink Cartridge Save 80% off

HP 02 C8721WN#140 Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging-Black
  • Inkjet Print Cartridge.

Do you keep track of how many pages you get per cartridge? It''s easy to.

I got ~88 typical pages per normal genuine 02 black printing white pages with normal black text; never pages that I''d expect would use much more ink.large/solid areas of black. (Our Photosmart C6100 series printer tracks how many pages are printed, so it''s not hard to calculate, if one just checks the page count when one changes a cartridge.) (264 pages printed using 3 normal 02 black cartridges over 3 months, total.)

Continuous printing saves ink, sure, but unless there''s something defective or dishonest going on, it seems ~87% of the ink in a cartridge was not used to print (but was, rather, spent keeping the printing system healthy while it was in the printer for only a month). So saying this cartridge will print anything close to 660 pages seems dishonest to me, unless my experience is abnormal.

I''m going to contact HP to see how they handle a warranty request.

UPDATE: NO, I think I''ll learn from R. Siegfried''s experience (see his review of the regular black twin pack C9500FN140 at and give up on that idea doesn''t seem worth the trouble. Contacting Amazon seems to make more sense at least if that''s who you bought from.

I was looking for a comparison -HP 02 vs 02XL and found a vendor''s wordpress site with some interesting (but unverified) info.

It said that the genuine HP 02XL cartridges have 15ml of ink, while the genuine HP02 Black cartridges have 10ml of ink, and this vendor''s compatible cartridges had 30ml of ink.

Whether this translates to more pages or not is an open question (I wouldn''t be surprised if the printer insists the cartridge is out of ink long before it is out of ink.) I guess one could weigh the cartridges before and after...

The specs for the HP cartridges from HP say that the 02 and 02XL blacks SHOULD print ~660 and ~1000 typical pages. How does an HP printer/cartridge determine it''s out of ink? I''d love to know!

I ordered this paper hoping that it would be a heavier paper than it turned out to be, but the overall paper quality was fine.

What I found really disappointing was the condition it arrived in. Amazon failed to place enough packing in the box to cushion the weight of the paper. As a result the ream split open its packaging and some of the paper had bent edges. Something to think about before you order paper.

Frankly I''ve come to expect better packing from Amazon and was disappointed that this happened.

If Charles Barkley ever had to deal with this printer he would say it''s turrbull. Every time (and I do mean EVERY FREAKING TIME) I use this thing it wants to print the allignment page. It says there''s a paper jam about 90% of the times I try to print (of course there isn''t one) and I have to restart it multiple times to get it to work. It goes through ink like Mexican water goes through your stomach. The print quality is fair once it finally does print. I would say on a scale of 1-10 the print qulaity is about a 6 and the annoyance factor is roughly as high as America''s national debt. I''ve averaged that out and generously given it 2 stars.

If I go longer than a week without printing the printhead completely clogs up and will no longer print. I know Dell is not the best printer but this has been the worst one I have owned and I have owned 3 dell printers. My 2 epsons have held up a lot better. Also the wireless setup has been a headache and I finally gave up. I am donating it and getting something else. A waste of money.

We bought ours from dell about a year ago. Our print head went bad after 2 months. Dell replaced it under warranty. Now, the print head is bad again, and, now we have no warranty. We have only printed 236 pages on this printer. The parts from Dell are 134.99. Ouch! The print head seems to be a common failure on these units. While the printer has GREAT features, replacing a print head every year is not a good way to go. While I do not blame Dell (I have been Very satified with their products), I must say that Dell should be ashamed for placing their name on this bad Lexmark product! I recommend purchasing a different product.

If you want to make a career out of trying to print things from a printer, this is the one for you. I''ve had three of the exact same printers along with a new print head, all of which were sent to me courtesy of Dell due to problems they were unable to fix.

The ink cartridges dry up easily when not used frequently and you waste ink running nozzle cleaning routines that don''t seem to do anything other than waste your ink. I printed a total of 15 pages from a high yield ink cartridge before it would not print any longer, that''s about $1.50 a page for black type printing.

The other major frustration with this printer is the amount of time it takes to print something. Even if all goes well with the cartridges, which is very rare, the printer does about 10 minutes of making noises before it even starts to print. If the cartridges do give you problems, it can completely consume an entire night just trying to print out a couple of pages.

I have had Dell printers before and have been very satisfied with most every aspect of them. This printer should have been recalled and customers given a new printer and free ink for life for the amount of frustration this printer can cause. Believe me when I say that the only thing this printer offers is FRUSTRATION!!!

Want Dell All-in-One Wireless Printer (P713w) Discount?

The printer looks really nice, and on paper it has all the necessary features to be a good home printer. When you''re hooked up to it via USB cable, it works fine. However my intent was to use it as a network printer, as I usually use a laptop when I''m at home and therein lies the problem...

Set up as a network printer, this thing is a nightmare and is basically unusable. Every time I''ve used it, whatever it is I''m trying to do (usually a really complicated advanced poweruser task like, oh I don''t know, "Print a one page black and white document" or "Scan one piece of paper with black and white letters on it"), it takes me an hour. Literally as I sit here typing this, I am waiting for the printer to turn itself back on after having unplugged it for ten seconds so I can scan one piece of paper. I''ve been trying to get it to scan for twenty minutes now.

There are no reproducible problems, there are no effective troubleshooting steps, I''ve just had to turn everything off and on again and again until I get lucky and it works. I''m not a technophobe, I''m not a dummy, I work in a technical field involving computers, and this thing is ridiculous. It''s like they never tested the network printing *at all*.

If you want a printer to connect to a computer with a cable, this one might be OK. But if you want a wireless network printer, do yourself a favor and look at a different printer.

(All that having been said, I''m sitting here in front of a Dell computer typing this. I love Dell computers. They''ve been my last four home computers. The printers? Not so much...)

I''ve used many printers at home and work over the years, with varying levels of reliability. This is the worst, most unreliable printer I have ever encountered. The initial print quality was wonderful, but the honeymoon was short-lived. Constant jams, constantly starved for ink, slow print times, leaky/faulty print head. These have been my home printing experience for over a year of trying and trying to get consistency and quality. I''m finally simply sending it to the recycling and removing the software (which co-opts your work station) and will find a more reliable alternative.

I''m on my fifth Dell computer -love their PCs. They need to stick to that.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!

HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One Printer

HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One Printer, Copier, and Scanner
  • Color prints, copies, and scans
  • Up to 31 color ppm print speed, 4,800 dpi resolution
  • Print directly with 2.5-inch color display and memory card support
  • 4-by-6-inch photo printing as fast as 14 seconds
  • Built-in Ethernet, USB, and PictBridge interfaces; PC and Mac compatible

To start off, let me say that I am traditionally not a fan of HP''s products. I did, however, view this all-in-one as having some nicer features than some others and took a chance.

I feel that generally HP does well with hardware products and or designs but struggles with their software integration with their products. I feel this is the case here as well. I have had my 3210 for about 2 weeks and here are my experiences.

Pros:

i) Scanning resolution and overall quality is quite good.

ii) Printing quality is also good. I wasn''t planning on doing a ton of printing but based on experiences I will probably do more than anticipated because of the good results.

iii) Scanning and printing are both pretty quick. Marketed as the fastest picture printer all-in-one on the market... can''t compare with others but I suspect they are correct here.

iv) I was happy to find in my research that replacement ink cartridges are NOT terribly expensive and they are easy to replace and know if they are running low.

Cons:

i) Paper magazine is small so it doesn''t hold a lot -minor.

ii) Software install was more of a pain than I was expecting. Installation on WinXP SP1 was generally OK but on WinXP SP2 it was a struggle. Not HP''s fault, certainly, but they weren''t able to make the installation easier to prevent some of these isssues or frustrations. I hope they have a lot of tech support people available as this product sells.

iii) Network configuration was not as automated or straight forward as they could have been.

iv) Software interface isn''t as easy and fluid as it could be. I think that those who purchase this product that don''t have some comfort with computers will be on the phone with HP often.

Overall, I am pleased with the purchase thus far but still have some configuration to work through. In HP''s defense, I haven''t called or emailed their tech support -but I shouldn''t have to and my schedule makes this tough. Again, I feel the hardware implementation is quite good but their installation software and interface is lacking.

Buy HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One Printer Now

After reading all the reviews here, and against my better judgment, I bought a 3210 because it had the exact features I was looking for in a multi-function device. My experience was light years apart from what the others have left on this site. Please understand that I carefully read the instructions and gave some thought to the process before connecting the printer to my network. Additionally, my system is clean and well maintained; i.e., I have no spyware, adware or viruses, and run weekly scans to keep it that way. Your mileage may differ.

Software install no issues. At 1.1GB it''s a big install, but I had no problems with it. The installer correctly detected my firewall and had me disable it after I detached my network from the Internet. After the required reboot, it finished installing without any hiccups. I also made sure to click on the "HP Software Update" within the HP Solution Center before doing anything further, installed the rest of the updates and rebooted. Again, no issues at all after making sure the software load was completely current.

Network configuration no issues. I have a custom configuration for my network; I setup the IP address on the 3210 manually and added the printer to my router and firewall *before* installing the software. During the installation process, the installer spotted the printer at the correct IP address that I had already given it and moved forward without any incident.

Paper pickup and out of paper notices no issues. I use GP Advantage Premium Ink Jet paper from CostCo and am having no issues whatsoever. Same thing with bulk Kodak photo paper from CostCo. Most inkjet printers have an issue with overfilling the paper tray, so I keep mine under filled. No problems with getting erroneous out of paper messages. The plain paper output looks acceptable in rough draft and stellar in high resolution; the photo paper output is just drop dead gorgeous in hi-res; neither paper exhibited any evidence of gouges.

PDF creation no issues. The software works as designed, without wasting any paper or creating gibberish. Black and white, gray or color, all the settings worked as I expected them to and created perfect PDF documents.

Hardware buttons no issues. All the buttons work like they should on the printer. Additionally, all the buttons within the software residing on the PC work as advertised as well.

Ink usage no issues. The ink usage is as I expect so far. With plain paper I use the draft mode on everything except for what others see; I never print photos of any kind on plain paper (plain paper is a sponge for printer ink). With photo paper I use a very glossy finish, which helps keep the ink usage down. I was quite surprised by the tiny containers of ink that are used in the printer, but nothing more than that. I''ll have a better idea how the 3210 ink usage compares to my old inkjet this next Christmas when I print out my annual calendar gifts to family members.

Noise no issues. Compared to many other printers and scanners I''ve used over the years, both HP and non-HP, the 3210 is *very* quiet. The sound rises when scanning really high DPI levels, but is whisper quiet at the default 300 DPI for low-res scans.

Overall impressions 5 stars. The printing is superb, the device is quiet, it has built-in networking, everything works as I expect for it to; what''s not to like? My experience has been unlike the others listed here don''t know why and I''ll continue to buy and recommend HP products.

Being a fond believer in HP products, and a strong believer in doing my research before I buy something, I picked up a 3210 in December 05''. After the first 150 prints the printer stopped picking up the paper and it would say it was out or paper. I had to open the back of the printer and clean off the rollers to get it to work.

BUT!!! Then I talked to a local HP Sales representative in the store, and he stated that HP dropped one of their roller manufacturers for this reason. They were manufacturing a roller that would also leak fluid causing the paper pickup to slip. (They are a gray color if you open the back of the printer) HP has a new company that supplies new rollers (Black color) If you end up with a printer and after the first 100-1000 prints you are having this problem, check the color of the rollers. I am guessing they will be gray in color. In any case, if you are having this issue, make sure you call HP and talk to someone that knows of this issue. They will honor this issue, and you will receive a new printer. Not ALL gray rollers have this issue either! The tech department of HP are aware of the flaw. (why else would they drop the manufacturer :))

After my new printer, with the black rollers, I am up and running for over 5000 prints already. GO HP!!!!!

I purchased the HP 3210 to replace a six year old laser printer. I read several reviews before deciding on this model, but apparently I didn''t read closely enough.

Setup of the printer was a breeze, and for the first week or two things seemed to work flawlessly. Most of what I do at home is just some light document printing, which worked like a charm. I also played with the scanning, as well as the copying of a photo, which was really very cool. Again, it just worked great and I was pleased with the purchase.

Then after a couple of weeks I started getting an "Out of Paper" message on the display, despite the fact that the tray was full. I did all the usual stuff, pulled the tray out, reshuffled the paper, put it back in, and reset. The printer seemed to work OK again, until the next time I''d print a document.

Honestly I really didn''t pay that much attention to the issue until the other day when I was doing some research for my job and wanted to print out a 45 page document. A complete nightmare; I spent 2 hours of a Sunday afternoon just trying to get the output. It would print a page, then give me the error. I hit the OK button, it clicks and whirs a little, spits out another page, and then the same error.

This all happened while using HP''s premium Inkjet paper. I tried another brand of multi-purpose paper (20# weight instead of 24#) with equally poor results.

The problem has just gotten progressively worse, and I''m at a loss as to what to do. I purchased at Circuit City in early April so I doubt they will accept a return. My only recourse will probably be to contact HP, which I haven''t tried yet but will.

It is really a shame because, aside from this major problem, the printer is everything I need. The right size, functions, etc. Now I''m just hoping that I can recoup some of my investment.

I''m very disappointed and really expected more from HP. Obviously, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this printer.

*****ADDENDUM*****

6/11/06: After writing the above review I contacted HP tech support regarding the "Out of Paper" problem. I was expecting this to be a nightmare but I was actually quite impressed with the hold time (less than 2 minutes) and customer service. Anyway, after describing the problem the HP rep acknowledged that this has been a documented issue with this model. Of course he put a postive spin on it and said "since this is a new printer and the technology is very precise, etc.). Bottom-line: By default the printer is set to "Automatic" paper size and "Automatic" paper type. The HP rep instructed me to change these settings to "Letter" and "Premium Inkjet Paper" respectively. Doing this did in fact seem to solve the problem. So in essence, the "Automatic" settings do not work on this printer (as obviously they should). However this "workaround" is acceptable. *If you do try this be sure to save the settings as turning off the printer will reset the defaults back to "Automatic" unless you have taken the extra step to save settings.

One last note: Even with these settings changes I did still receive the dreaded "Out of Paper" message when the tray got a little low (about 10-15 sheets left). Anyway, I''m going to work with it for a few days and see how it goes.

I still wish I''d bought the Canon Pixma MP800!

Just recently I have been looking for an all in one printer that can also print good quality photos. I have always bought HP printers so I went to the hp site and looked at what they offered and decided to buy the hp photosmart 3210. So I came to amazon and was surprised to get it at a really great price.

Anyway, after ordering I noticed many negative reviews here, mostly about paper feed problems. I was a little worried after reading so many bad reviews but I''m glad I bought it, it is a great printer. In one review I read something about hp having problems with the rollers which was causing the paper feed issue and that they dropped that company and started using new rollers which are black rather than gray. So the first thing I did when it arrived was open the back and check the roller color and they were black.

So far I have printed over 100 pages and havent had any paper feed problems. Software install was really simple and i didnt have any problems with it. The photo quality is great even on the normal quality setting. Also the ink doesnt seem to get used up that quick, as i said before, i have printed over 100 pages and about 20 photos and the ink levels havent really gone down at all.

I have recommended this printer to a friend and he has placed on order for it and i would recommend it for anyone else looking for a great all in one printer that can do great quality photos. It seems that HP has fixed the paper feed issue with the black rollers. If I have any problems with paper feed I will update my review.

Makes things look neat and organized. Too bad that the unit I have uses so much of it. Makes my projects more expensive than they should be.

I have used this for three years on my outdoor stainless steel plant markers. Even in full sun and extreme winter conditions, it is as clear, unfaded, and un-yellowed as the day it was printed. The adhesion is also great and I am able to reposition soon after placement if need be. Pricey, but worth it!

  • The Samsung CLX-4195FW is a valuable player in a multitude of ways.

I was very excited to get this printer to replace an aging Brother MFC-7820N 5-in-1 Network Monochrome Laser Multifunction Center, one of the very early SOHO network printers available at a modest price. This printer served me well but definitely had its limitations, mainly its ability to network print. So I was ecstatic at the prospects of actually being able to house my printer where I wanted to and not be limited by where my computer was, my router was, or how long my ethernet cable could be (ideal for a home office where we generally don''t have the entire house wired).

SETUP: First, setup was very easy. Honestly, sometimes the hardest thing to do is to interpret the pictographs that the "easy start/setup literature" is telling you to do. But after everything was untapped and all of the plastic locks around all of the toner cartridges were removed, the unit fired right up and went through a calibration and brief setup. All in all, probably not more than 5 minutes. Depending on your level of comfort with technology or if you are tech savvy, you may want to stop following the "easy start instructions" now. I did, so instead of running the setup CD, i went through the menu and found that I could manually set up my wireless by scanning for my wireless router''s SSID, selected it and manually entered the passcode. After that I installed the drivers from the CD that has a setting to set up the printer by USB, wireless, or wireless via USB. I love this feature because I would not choose to keep my printer near my router or my computer(s) so this is great!

Ten minutes later, from the point I opened the box and started, my test print popped out of the printer and it looks pretty good. I have yet to use all of the functions but am very happy so far. After the print manager was installed, the app easily allows you to control the printer''s functions such as scanning and faxing. I just played briefly with the scan feature and it seems to work well with the typical options that a decent standalone scanner will allow such as resolution, text/photo scan, color/b&w/graysacle, paper size, cropping, etc., nothing that would be alien to anyone that has owned a scanner before.

NO AUTO DUPLEX PRINTING: Another feature that i wanted to try was the duplexing task. while this unit doesn''t have a automatic duplexing feature to print on both sides, it does have an auxiliary feeding tray on top of tray one that you can load up all of the sheets into and have it complete the back sides all at once. Not the easiest thing to use but unless you are constantly printing on both sides, it not too bad.

MOBILE PRINTING: A key feature of this printer that''s still not found on many printers is the ability to print from a smartphone or other mobile device. In my household, we have Android smartphones & tablets and iPhone users. Samsung has released apps for the Android,iOS and Windows platforms allowing you to print directly from the mobile device of your choice. I tested this on my Asus Transformer Prime (Android ICS OS). I downloaded the Samsung Mobile Print app from Google Play. Shortly after downloading, the app was able to detect the printer, and I was able to print directly from my tablet. The lack of printer support thus far on Android makes this a must-have feature for me, which makes an already good printer great from my perspective.

COLOR: Color reproduction and speed are on par with most other mid end color laser printers and nothing too noteworthy nor horrible. It was able to print photos with vibrant color, but still can''t compare to my dedicated photo inkjet printer (which it shouldn''t be expected to...)

CONCLUSION: Overall, I am very happy with this unit and look forward to replacing my old workhorse that while it served me well kept me tethered to my PC or my router. I love the fact that I could completely set up the unit without ever having to be near any computer. Though it would have been nice to have duplex printing support, the ability to print from any mobile device (Android, iOS, and Windows) in my household makes this printer a clear winner.

The Samsung CLX-4195FW is a nice home office printer. The setup time was literally 10 minutes from box opening to printing and that was with wireless only network connections. I did not, and still have not, physically connect(ed) this printer to a computer. The setup was extremely simple for me, having a modern router with a pushbutton connect helped tremendously, so I did not have to enter any SSID or password information.

Printing:

Thus far the printer has been fast in black and white and fairly fast with color printing. The time to first print has been about 15 seconds. I have no complaints with the speed or the quality of the prints. Text is clear down to 6 pt, which I find good, and color is good. I find the color acceptable for most busniness applications. Photos come out decent, but not as good as my dedicated Epson photo printer. Though I would not expect this printer to rival or be comparable to the Epson for photos.

Duplexing is done by way of placing pages that have one side printed into a tray that feeds them for printing on the other side. Not being one that uses two-sided printing often, the lack of full-auto duplexing isn''t an issue. But it may be for one that does two-sided printing often.

I have found the toner cartridges for $90-$125 each, which is on par for color laser cartridges. So far it has been pretty miserly with the toner. I haven''t done a lot of full page color printing yet where 90% or more of the page is covered in color, when I do a large run like that I will edit this review to reflect the toner usage.

It is a bit noisy when it fires up, but quickly quiets down after it finishes printing.

The only two miniscule complaints I have had are:

1. That after extended periods of being unused (after a weekend idle), I need to wake the printer up by touching the touchscreen, as it won''t print until I do.

2. The surface where the pages are output makes it hard to just "slide" the pages out toward you and off the printer.

These are as nitpicky as I can be with this unit, it has and is, performing very well under 5-day/week usage.

I have had a few other Konica and Dell color lasers in this price/duty-range and this printer outperforms them thus far. The Android and Apple mobile device apps have worked flawlessly thus far.

Copier:

The copier has done a wonderful job and outputs clean and clear pages. It is as fast as the printer, and gets its first page out in about 15 seconds. it features N-Up copy so will it copy more than one original to a single page. And ID copy to allow copying both sides of an ID to a single page. It has a 25% to 400% zoom. Copying can be done by the single page from the platen or multipage from the 50 sheet document feeder.

Scanner:

The scanner is decent, fine for documents, but definitely not for high quality scans as it is a native 1200 x 1200 dpi optical scanner. Scanning can be done by the single page from the platen or multipage from the 50 sheet document feeder.

Fax:

Though I haven''t used the fax yet, the stats show the fax is a standard 33.6 Kps modem with 300 x 300 dpi resolution in black and white and 200 x 200 dpi in color.

Overall, it''s a solid mid-level color laser printer, at a good price point, with normal consumable costs.

Update 1/24/13: After over 60 days of use, I still have no complaints. It hasn''t dropped from the network once, and since this review was originall posted it has never required the tap on the screen to wake it up after extended periods of idle time. I am still on the toner that came with the machine, it is under mild to moderate use, so it appears to be sparing on consumables. Though, I will update when I start using known full cartridges.

We do a lot of printing in our small business, so I was excited about trying this printer. It prints quickly and the pages are really lovely. I haven''t had any problems with paper jamming, and the quality of the prints is good. The ink cartridges seem to be good for a lot of printing, and we haven''t needed to replace one yet even though we''re printing quite a bit every day. It''s not noisy, and it''s a nice looking printer. It will look good in your office and deliver good looking prints as well. It scans quickly, too.

One problem with the printer is that it is VERY big and VERY heavy. This might be a problem in cramped areas. The weight is something you only have to worry about when you carry it to your work station, but if you''re going to be moving this around a lot, you''re going to get a workout. I am skinny and don''t have a lot of muscle, and it took everything I had just to slide it in the door from the front porch. The other drawback about it is that I had frustrating problems making it connect with my computer. It took multiple tries to get it connected permanently.

The saving grace that makes it 5 stars is the fact that it includes a printer cable. So if you have problems connecting wirelessly, you can use the cable to get going right away, and work on your wireless connection later. What matters in the end is crisp, beautiful printing, and once you have it in place and connected, you''ll get exactly that. I highly recommend this for any business or home office.

This printer is big. So much so that my initial feeling was that it would be more at home in Kinkos than in my home office. It''s a gorgeous piece of kit, to be sure, but the proof is in the copies and that''s where it really delivers and I mean delivers, because it delivers fast copies with crisp black text and beautiful color.

I don''t know what more to say about a printer that I''ve come to really love. Oh yeah, it installed without quirks, works quietly, scans quickly and look imposing too. Gotta hand it to Samsung with this one, it''s winner.

Out the box this seems to be a good enough all in one. When setting up everything was easy to follow, set up and hook up. Print paper and doing the test was easy and came out good enough for me although I''m still figuring out a few things. For printing and color some may have different standards of quality but I thought it was good. Other than that everything worked good for me for now, as most times you will see flaws after a few uses or few weeks so lets see how everything goes with an update.

The only thing I was not able to use was the fax as I am unable to test that right now.
