I purchased two of these machines for two of our remote offices. As a fax machine, there have been zero complaints, as a printer, they frequently have software issues. In particular, when we try to share these machines on our network, the print drivers don''t run well on the client machines. We run Win XP Pro in our offices. This device feels like a solid fax machine, with print services thrown on as an after-thought.
Previous to this, we had purchased the HP 4100 print / fax / copier and we had awful luck with the fax function. The HP feels like a solid printer that had a fax modem thrown on it.
I wish someone would build one of these devices that can handle all services well.

Fast, acurate, options, network able, clean, efficient and a low cost basis for what you get is great. This machine works better than expected pop in the full and complete cartridge and plug it in thats it =+.
Cost comparison works . We read it here and then did it.
Try it.
Only one major problem occured and nopt with the machine. It was with the firm of Canon. They never returned our calls.
Maybe not being an American firm they may have felt they did not have to return calls or eMails.
They do not even have a Toll Call to us either...

I''ve had the D780 for about 3 years and it has worked great! But lately some of the time the copied pages are coming out with a small fold at the bottom. Anybody had that? Know what to do?We use this as a home copier/printerGood points:
Instant on it''s great not to have to wait
High quality printing
Reasonably fast print speed
2-in-1 button copies two 8x11 pages, reduced, onto one sheet
Bad points:
Can''t be connected to wireless network with Windows Vista or 7 main reason we''re replacing it
Paper jams are inconvenient to fix no matter how simple the jam, you have to nearly take the machine apart
LED screen is often hard to see in poor light conditions
No count of prints in progress this is surprisingly annoying
No easy interrupt there''s a two-or-threestep process involving that dim LED screen
No two-sided printing
No auto-sense for manual paper feed, so half the time I forget and it copies from the main tray
