- Automatic Two-Sided Printing
- More Pages per Cartridge
Honestly, the mobile printing is what sold the printer. Having the ability to take photos on my phone and instantly print without connecting any devices is impressive. You really get a better idea of how great modern smartphone camera technology is after printing, because the small screens don''t do the picture justice.
For a lightweight, affordable printer, the S315 is an excellent choice. Installation is quick and easy, perfect for even the most basic of users.

I purchased a Lexmark s-315 all-in-one printer from Amazon. It was delivered ahead of promised time and in fine condition. After setting up the printer, I attempted to print a test page. Got the message "print head cannot move" This was bogus as the print head did indeed move. No matter what I did (deleted and reinstalled the software, rebooted the computer) I couldn''t get that message to clear. Contacted Lexmark by phone and all the support person could do was have me try all the things I had already done. Of course none of these things worked so she told me I would be contacted by someone higher up in the chain-of command by phone the next day. When the guy called, he had no other pearls of wisdom but instead emailed me a return label with instructions. Meanwhile, Lexmark was overnighting a new s-315 to me without waiting to receive the defective one. After the new one arrived I set it up and it worked flawlessly. As I was packing up the defective machine for return, I noticed one thing different about the boxes that the printers came in: The defective machine was made in China, the replacement wasn''t. Interesting.Read Best Reviews of Lexmark S315 Wireless Inkjet All-in-One Printer Here
Okay, got the Lemark S315 a few days ago (which is the S310 Series) for use with Ipad and Iphone potential printing. Now the rest of these notes are based on being an older (senior) male and, while fair with computers, not having that the everyonelknowsthat ability of the newer bytes. Okay, I first thought it was a wireless and a hardwired printer (like my Canon). It is not, It''s totally wireless--and that''s good, your computer should be able to sent the signal to the printer sans cable if it''s on your ''local wireless network''.Okay, they mention over and over again do not attach the UBS cable unless told to do so--(it can wipe out data)--I thought because you had to set that up last...no...after I ''failed'' in all my attempts to get my router and printer ''talking to each other '' (even via WPS)--I used the cable as instructed, told the printer my network''s name and password...and done...they are in agreement. No more need for the USB cable. But you''re not done yet. Your Ipad won''t find or talk to the S315 until you download the latest firmware from Lexamrk Firmware for the S310-S510-S410 Series Feb 9,2012. You do that [I get lucky sometimes]-and suddenly your Iphone and Ipad find the S310 series printer and you''re good to go. Note, if printer is asleep...its off/on glow light...it wakes up in about 3 second...(with one touch) ...if it''s totally off....you''ll have to give it 40seconds to a minute to get ready for any Iphone Airprint searching of it.
Good printing....so far, so good. Also like the black and white button on the front if you choose not to use the color function--vey nice idea there. Hope all conitnues good.

It just arrived today and set up was simple. Although if you are not the patient type then you will not like the set up process. The test page came out surprisingly good! All the colors blended nicely and there are no lines like I thought there would be. It scans faster than the HP we have here! Plus, it scans directly to my computer and saves it as a pdf file (I''ve only tried it once so I''m unsure of other formats). Basically, I am pleasantly surprised by this printer. I''m sticking with Lexmark, it''s proven itself to me! It''s a perfect all in one for me as I will only use it for my course work (college student). I definitely recommend this product for those who are on a budget!I originally purchased this printer Lexmark S315 (4/18) to replace an old ailing HP that I''ve had for 6+ years. I print probably on average 5-10 pages per week. And have probably replaced the printer cartridges on my HP maybe 3-4 times in the entire time I owned it. I got the Lexmark because it had some really great features, namely the wireless and since it was time again to buy cartridges for the HP I figure why not spend another 40 and get a new printer that everyone could use wirelessly. Or so I thought. First the nice. It was easy to set up. I had it up and running in about 10 minutes. 7 of that was reinstalling the software because I couldn''t connect and I was sure I did something wrong, when in reality because my wireless internet was on a different subnet than my computer, the printer couldn''t be reached. That fixed I attempted to connect my laptop and print, but it too needed the software installed. That complete I had 2 full days of great printing. On day 3 the printer wouldn''t wake up to print. Turning it on and off didn''t help, turning my computer on and off didn''t help the only thing that did was reinstalling, at which point I had 2 instances of the printer. One would work some days, other days the other would work (I remedied this by deleting both and reinstalling). About a week later I attempted to print and got the dreaded printer head won''t move error. I messed with it for over an hour; walking through all the troubleshooting steps multiple times and finally fed up with it I went to bed. In the morning a test sheet had been printed and all seemed fine (Printer faeries I would imagine). Within a couple days Cyan started not printing at all. Since the test print seemed to fix the print head issue I thought maybe the print head needed to be cleaned so I set it to clean through the maintenance option. Again all seemed to be fine, but at this point I was disgusted and I didn''t touch it again for probably a week. Then it started reporting that the black cartridge was low. I''ve printed MAYBE 30 pages, 50 at most. This is ridiculous!!! Now every time I want to print I have to have it clean the print head. I am then usually able to print as many pages as I want but, if I leave it a couple days it''s back to saying the black is low. It''s been this way for the past month. Today I again try to print. It''s probably been a week since I''ve printed last and no matter how many times I clean it it still says black is low and won''t print. This last time the black actually streaked so I''m pretty sure it really is low but, no way have I gone through the 200 pages it says the cartridge can do. What I print isn''t graphic intensive it''s usually just spreadsheets and documents mostly and a couple pictures. This thing must just EAT ink. No way should I be in need of a new cartridge after 2.5 months of ownership. This is not worth the price even if you got it on sale because you''ll be buying ink every 2 months, especially if you don''t use it every day, which I think must be contributing to it''s problem, that or it really is just an ink eater.Pro: Fairly easy set up (If you understand networking and wireless)
Lots of great features
Con: Goes through ink quick
I''ve seen several people complain about the printer head not moving error
Lexmark Android app will not connect to the printer (for me)
When it "thinks" the ink is low it won''t print
