Here are some tips to help you with instalation for windows 7:
On the instal CD choos file named Drivers. Install driver POS58 in the instal dialog it will give you the option to select a port. Do not choose LPT1 instead choose USB001 and procede with instalation.
In your POS system set up your page margin to 0 for all sides. If your pos is web based also take away the title, page number etc. from your page printing setting for your browser. You can do this under page setup.
If you want to spend more go ahead but this product is a great value for the cost.

The user manual that came with the printer was probably an online translation of Chinese to English so you could not understand what they meant AT ALL. I tried to find online support to figure out how to install and setup this printer and could find NOTHING since there is no name brand or anything.. I figured it out on my own by process of elimination... took forever. I would Not recommend buying this printer unless you know someone that is computer savy to help with the post installation setup. Now that I have it installed and setup the printer prints clearly and quickly and is not noisy.At first we were thinking this POS printer was indeed P.O.S. because we couldn''t get the printer to print at all. The "manual" is horrible! Instructions are not clear at all. We were about to send it back for a refund when a review told us some tips for install. Once we followed his tips it printed fine. Good printer for the price, but don''t try to install it if you are on a "low-patience" day.I rolled the dice on this because a couple of reviews offered tips to get the thing up and running and the price was right, in spite of the instructions being in a a foreign language. However, upon arrival, it has no instructions and no install cd. There is apparently no website of a parent company from which to download a driver. I am returning this device.Save 23% off
Was able to get it to work anyways with a generic printer driver on Ubuntu. Also comes with a nice programmers guide on the mini CD if you want to get your hands dirty.
