I''ve had my Brother MFC=5890cn printer for a little over 2 months. The printer can use other "generic" inks, but the 3pack of individual inks makes it a smart printer finally that needs refills of only the color ink that is necessary. These High-Yield inks (LC65 series) use a small amount of ink on each project. I''m very happy about my purchase (of the printer) and more excited I can buy ink at very reduced prices but retains the quality of the prints. Amazon provides each color ink at a great price. The Brother "Color Ink Cartridge 3 Pack" includes one each high capacity cartridge of Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow, at a substantial savings over buying them separately.

I have been pleased with the quality of Brother inks, but do seem to go through them rather quickly since we print a lot of large pictures (11" x 17") for our business on our Brother MFC-6490CW Professional Series Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer with Wireless Networking (a really good large format multi-function printer). This value pack saves us a good bit of money on original manufacture quality inks!

We refuse to buy aftermarket ink cartridges for our company printers. Thank goodness, we have never had to replace a head in one, even though we use them A LOT. We contribute that to using manufacturer cartridges. Highly recommend.

I have owned my Brother MFC-6490CW printer for almost two years now. I prefer OEM carts over dodgy generics. If I''m "trapped by time",that is I wait until one of the carts run dry in the middle of a print,I have to wait until the local office supply mart opens and I pay $10 more on this product plus sales tax. I don''t have to and neither should you.

When my ink levels drop below 50%,I order this 3 color pack from Amazon and have it on my doorstep in two days with Amazon Prime. No more remembering to drop by the local store only to find it out of stock.

Amazon is really the best way to fly as far as I''m concerned.

Update 12/05/2011: Just got it Monday. Check a local store that stocked the same item:$49 for the same three-pack plus tax to bring it to $53. I saved well over $20.

This product was right but Amazon said it would work with my printer. Yeah right. Unless you know that you know this will work with your printer don''t buy it. DO NOT take amazons word for it. On the bright side I was able to use a pocket knife to modify the ink cartridge and get it to work. My printer is a Brother MFC-495CW printer. I hope the ink lasts like they say.
