The scanner has been great to have, we have gotten alot of use out of that. But the printer itself prints very low quality images. I stopped refilling the color ink a few years ago since I primarily use the printer for business use and only need the black ink. Because of this, when you replace the ink cartidge and go to re-align the cartridge, it is set up to depend on that color cartridge to re-align. So this makes it nearly impossible to line it up correctly. My prints come out sometimes with jagged letters and lines and its nearly impossible to fix. I have also had numerous problems with the paper jamming. Sometimes it pulls 4 or 5 sheets through at a time, sometimes the paper feed doesnt even pick the paper up. Sometimes it prints at an angle because the paper got caught on the way in. I also wish the cord on it connecting to the computer were longer. We moved the computer tower on our desk and the cord barely reaches a few feet away, so the cord disconnects all the time.
I will eventually replace this, it''s been okay for us, but not the greatest printer i''ve owned. It''s cheap, and it shows. This is a good printer and it does everything it should do for you and prints great pictures too. I recently received mine and I like it but it will not print in with the color ink that I have for it and, I need to have color text for some of the projects that i am creating and it wont let me do that. This was a hard to find item too.
I just hope i can solve the issue soon.

Okay, I received this with my dell dimension 4600 as a package deal back in 2004, yes, I said 2004, but not just 2004, it was like February 2004. Right away the ink didn''t last long, a replacement ink from Dell, the black, didn''t last as many pages as it was supposed to like it dried out when I didn''t use the printer for three months. Boought a remanufactured refilled cartridge locally, still lack of decent ink amount, like it quit working prematurely. I noticed there was a problem trying to use black ink after the color had went inoperative after the first new dell black refill. I gave up trying to use this printer in late 2004 except for scanning documents and using a parallel ported canon I still owned from 1998. One great thing thought, it came with a usb cord I was able to use with my brand new kodack hero 4.2 fax/scanner, a twenty dollar value if you buy from walmart a cable, so that cable worked great, so does the scanner, I''ve sued the scanner part for scanning documents for an old laser printer for several years as well, and strange thing, I might have to hold onto this old printer just for the scanner for use in my old computer apart from my new computer, a shame, or I got to figure a way to totally be able to throw it in the trash someday.Read Best Reviews of Dell Personal All-in-One Printer A920 - Multifunction Here
The A920 All In One Printer from Dell is for light use only. Mine misfeeds paper regularly, so you must be prepared to manually adjust it. That''s fine for printing 3 pages but time consuming for 20 pages. The color quality is marginally acceptable: soon after loading a new cartridge the color will have striped effects and no amount of coaxing with the recommended methods has an effect. The speed is slow. If you abandon printing with it for a while you will find that the nozzles of the not-inexpensive ink cartridges have dried irredeemably, requiring replacement of both the black and the color toner although both cartridge reports may read as nearly full. Passable for regular very light use, not suitable for production use.Want Dell Personal All-in-One Printer A920 - Multifunction Discount?
Dell is still selling this printer? Amazing. I got one of these three years ago for $20 as a special offer with a Dell laptop that I purchased. Twenty bucks is about what it''s worth. It consistently misfeeds paper, so your prints come out crooked half the time or the printer just jams. The print quality is barely adequate in either color or black and white. It''s OK to have around as a scanner and copier, provided you don''t need top quality. But buy something else if you''re going to be doing any real printing. This can be a fun toy to play around with but it''s not a real printer.
