These Avery toppers and matching bags work well together. The labels are easy to print, easy to apply, and come out looking very professional. Avery''s website offers dozens of patterns that can be used as a basis for your design, so if you lack an artistic flair, you are still in luck.

Although I am very pleased with the product and its outcome, there are certain areas that could be improved. Avery''s website now requires registration in order to download patterns. I think that''s unnecessary. The patterns are Microsoft Word compatible and allow users to change the text fields. Yet unlike the software that they offer for mailing labels, which allows you to repeat the information for all labels on a page, come up with individual ones, or import data from a file, these patterns require you to update each of the four labels separately, and do so on each side. If you have several varieties of items for which you wish to produce labels, you can''t merely make them, pick them off a list, and fill the four slots dynamically.

Considering that it''s a package with a small number of sheets, it''s likely that customers will not be using it for large runs of the same item. With their traditional label software, printing only one label on a page is a breeze. If they don''t feel that''s necessary with this product, perhaps more than ten sheets of material would have been a better offering, since the software is best tailored to making many copies of the same sheet.

The labels themselves are symmetrical, although you are free to have a different design or text printed on each side. But the pages themselves are not symmetrical. Since they are not centered, be sure to print a sample unless you are sure which end of your paper feed corresponds to the top or bottom of your page.

All in all, I can''t complain about the labels or bags themselves, but Avery has spoiled me with better software in the past. Depending on how you plan to use them, the software may fit your needs well, or may require more work than should be necessary.

I like the idea but these labels are too thick for my inkjet printer, my laserjet at work and I even tried to print the template on regular paper and put it thru the copier. No luck on any machine. I ended up hand designing the toppers which is fine I guess but I could have done that cheaper with out buying this kit. I really wanted a professional looking end product but it is not attainable with any of my office machines :(

I have been waiting for an item like this for a while. I have used Avery products for years, and I have never been disappointed, and this product is no exception. These bags and toppers are part fo a new line, "Avery Merchandising Solutions." The self-adhesive bag toppers can be used in either a laser or ink jet printer, I printed some on each kind of printer and the results were equally pleasing. The bags were easy to assemble and the results were professional looking. Printing the toppers require a template from Avery.com, which was very easy to locate and use. The site offers a huge library of art work that can be used to customize the labels, or you can import your own artwork. Importing artwork is fast and easy; I was able to customize a set of toppers in less than 20 minutes. The only thing that keeps me from giving the product 5 stars is the bags themselves. The bags are made of a thin plastic and measure 4 3/4" by 6 1/2". I wanted to use the bags to package sets of handmade notecards. The bags do not have a fold or anything to provide for "depth" in the bag. I was unable to put more than three 4x6 notecards in the bag, because of the lack of depth in the bag. The packaging shows the bags full of seashells, stones, and plastic animals, but I doubt that the bags could hold the amount of items shown without seriously changing the dimensions of the bags. That said, I still think this is a good item, I have always been pleased with Avery products, and I will be purchasing more of these. I would like to see other sizes available, and possibly other packages, such as clear boxes, other bag sizes, etc. Maybe with the success of this product, Avery will look into making more packing items.

Unfortunately, Microsoft Office 2007 does not have the template for 22801. In the past I have gotten around this by searching the Microsoft website and downloading from there, but 22801 does not exist. Therefore, in order to create and use your Avery labels, you must register at the Avery site first (no getting around it).

For the download, make sure to choose Open With>Microsoft Word. By default, for some reason, it originally downloaded into Works, and the template does not format in Works at all. The "Open With" option does not come up automatically. I had to download it once (automatically opens in Works), then choose the option on the avery popup that says "If download does not start automatically, click here." Click there, and then the option to Open With exists. Then save in Word format. (Or SAVE AS first, then Open With also works.) Once you have that done, you must CONVERT the document in order to have full access to all of Word''s functions. (Microsoft Button>Convert>SAVE!!) (Not sure why this issue exists, and when I attempted to use Internet Options in IE to set Word as default for downloading docs, this option was unavailable.)

The main problem that I find with most Avery templates is with graphics. You cannot drag your logo/photo left or right, or stick it in a corner. You paste in your graphic and it''s pretty much either up or down from there. If you want the graphic placed below text, type in the text first, enter for spacing and then paste in the graphic. If you want the graphic above the text, paste in the graphic, enter for spacing and then type your text. You can resize your own logo/graphic to fit the labels by using a net-based photo resize program.

To create different text effects, such as concave or rainbow, Insert>Word Art. For a really professional look, and for more on messing with Text in 2007, see this link:

Your only limits here are your own imagination, and the size of your label.

Once the labels are printed, it can be a challenge to attach them to the bags. You have to fill the bags first and then seal them (self-adhesive strip on the bags), then attach the bags to the label, which becomes tricky, depending upon how bulky your bag is once filled. (The bags are a nice size, but they split at the seams if over-filled.) You can re-position once or twice at the most if you mess up (after one or two repositions, the label begins to come off onto the bags), but if you do not have the patience to be precise, you will end up with lopsided packages. These bags cannot be used for food, so disappointing! So I suggest using them for pretty holiday gifts you wish to display, such as poptpourri or a glittered ornament, or for selling at craft shows. There are pop-outs for hanging these packages on displays, but if you are going to do this, I suggest filling them with lighter contents; I think heavy items would pull on the bag and end up breaking from the weight after a period of time.

I had no issues with printing the toppers as some others have. And I like the product. It''s easy to use and pretty easy to print just 4 or to mass produce all 40!

The biggest issue I have is that there only seems to be one size. If you need more than one size, you''re going to need more than one solution to presenting your product.

I''m a computer tech and really like the idea of putting some of my own branding on generic cables and adapters, but big stuff doesn''t fit and and having one small adapter in a bag looks unprofessional. It seems like a smaller and a bigger bag set would really complement this product.

So while I like this and how easy this is, I''m going to have to find another solution for different sizes. And when I use a different solution for everything else, why would I continue using these for just this size?

Another review talked about the amazon page saying "don''t use for food" but the product not saying anything. On the back botom of the packaging I got it says "Do not use bags for food. Do not microwave bags."

HP 564XL CB321WN#140 Ink Cartridge-Black Save 36% off

HP 564XL CB321WN#140 Ink Cartridge-Black
  • Value cartridge for high-volume printing
  • Cartridge yield: approx. 550 pages; actual yield depends on printer and specific use

I purchased my printer in February 2009 and I believe that I have had to replace the regular size black ink cartridge at least three times. I would say that my print load is average. This time (the third time) I decided to get the XL size. I put it in April 10th and now (May 10th) the ink level is at 3/4. I am sure that with the regular size catridge I would be getting ready to change the cartridge again. I also like that the price via amazon was significantly cheaper than purchasing from staples or target. And it arrived quickly. I recommend using the XL no matter what, so that you don''t have to change so often. I also recommend this vendor based on my experience with them.

The starter cartridges that came with my HP C309a All-In-One were the standard 564 cartridges, which only lasted a couple weeks -and I don''t even print that much. I replaced the regular black cartridge with a 564XL, and even after a couple weeks of my usual (occasional) printing, the ink gauge is still at around 85%.

HP inks aren''t cheap, but even worse is having to buy them so frequently -I usually run out right before I need to print something important. The XL cartridge is a good value and lasts a good long time. This should be the standard HP inkjet cartridge.

The biggest complaint for personal inkjets is well.. ink. It''s always expensive and you feel like you are spending the lionshare of your purchase on the fancy packaging and plastic delivery mechanism. We use our printer for casual use and a decent amount of photo 4x6 printing. These XL inks definitely last longer than the std versions that shipped with the printer, and yellow always seems to go first. But they work as advertised, and never last as long as you want them to. We''ve had our printer for 2 years and replaced inks once a year now.

The colors seem to pop when using the special 4x6 papers and drying time is very fast. I haven''t seen any fading in pictures that were printed 2 yrs ago with these inks, and they are advertised to not fade, so i guess its working as advertised.

This is a warning to buyers of this product. First HP has changed the size of this cartridge, it is now half the size that it was a few months ago, so if you buy it you are now getting half as much ink as you used to. Second none of the sellers of this product on the Amazon website are advising buyers about the fact that you are now paying and will be receiving a cartridge that is half the size of the old one. Third if you want the best price deal it is no longer on Amazon but rather HP is now selling it directly from its own website at a considerably cheaper price.

As others have stated, better check closely on just what you expect to receive.

Some advertise the old package (3X pages cartridge) CB321WN#140 for $29.99, but they ship you the newer (2X pages cartridge) CN684WN which sells for $22.99. They rip you off by putting a sticker on the CN684WN that says CN321WN and ship you the new cartridge at the old CN321 price of $29.99. If I ever order ink through Amazon again, it sure won''t be something sold by them for CDE. The supplier knew they did this and should have adjusted the price, but did not. I can buy that cartridge locally for less than on Amazon. Buyer be aware is all I can say.

Pictorico InkJet 8.5 x 11 Photo Glossy Paper (20 Sheet Package)

Pictorico InkJet 8.5 x 11 Photo Glossy Paper
  • Ideal for digital camera images, scanned images, and presentations
  • Semigloss, pearl finish
  • Produces brilliant images for home and office use
  • Standard letter size
  • Works in most ink-jet printers

This paper works beautifully with my Canon printer--it''s sometimes hard to get 3rd party papers to work successfully... The finish is low luster and takes ink very well, drying quickly. This paper and Photo Glossy Pro are the main papers I use other then Canon Photo Paper Pro...

Olympus P-200 Dye-Sub Portable Printer

Olympus P-200 Dye-Sub Portable Printer
  • Portable photo printer, ideal for travel
  • 320 dpi dye-sublimation for true continuous-tone quality
  • Accepts SmartMedia and CompactFlash Type I and II cards
  • Prints A-6 size prints in approximately 90 seconds
  • Choose 1, 2, 4, 9, or 16 images per page or a 40-image index print

Awesome is a horribly overused word, but this little puppy earns major kudos! It''s terrbily intuitive, easy to use, runs on a honking big NIMH battery (or AC) and -yes -produces dye-sub prints that are rich and gorgeous and tough-to-tell from conventionally processed ones. If the big chasm preventing digital photography from going mainstream has been the lack of physical prints that you can stick in an envelope and mail to the relatives (or carry around in your pocket), the P-200 more than bridges that gap. It''s a masterpiece of engineering.

Kodak 1096023 Premium Picture Paper (8.5x11, 50 Sheets) Save 33% off

Kodak 1096023 Premium Picture Paper
  • Premium-quality paper for photo prints
  • Works with all major inkjet printers
  • 8.5 by 11 inch size, 50-sheet pack
  • Fast dry time
  • Smooth, glossy finish

The paper says it works with all brands of inkjet printer. I went to Kodak''s website and set up my printer settings exactly as instructed for my printer (Canon S800). Even though this paper is very white, smooth, and glossy (all good things), the print quality of the output is significantly inferior to comparably priced Epson Photo Paper and Canon Glossy Photo Paper. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with the print quality. I can see lots of the individual pixels, especially on human flesh. Now I am stuck with a 50-sheet pack of expensive, nearly unusable paper. If you have a Canon S800 printer, stay away from this paper!

Using my Canon i560s printer, Kodak''s recommended printer driver settings, and Kodak''s free software for printing, this paper produces near flawless photos. They are semi-gloss (not high-gloss like Canon''s Photo Paper Plus Glossy that comes with the printer). This paper has been reformulated recently (according to the packaging) and I will continue to use it for all photos. I have been unable to get Canon''s software to print accurate colors on this paper so use Kodak''s! Canon''s software (Easy Photo Print) won''t print accurate colors even on their own Photo Paper Plus Glossy paper (and there is no way to manually tinker with the color settings in Easy Photo Print you can in the Kodak software via the Canon print driver). If you run a comparison, you will see that Kodak has got the color thing nailed cold and Canon does not, regardless of paper type.

The only detectable flaw I''ve seen in any print on Kodak''s Premium Picture Paper is on photos with very dark/black areas. If you hold the print at a sharp angle in bright light (you never would unless looking for this flaw) you can see a slight decrease in the reflectivness of these really dark areas that you don''t see using the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy paper.

Nobody who has looked at my prints (except me) has noticed this flaw so don''t worry about it. By the way, I much prefer the semi-glossy nature of this paper to Canon''s Photo Paper Plus Glossy which truly is so glossy it can be annoying in some lighting conditions.

The Canon i560s uses dye-based ink for printing photos. I think pigment-based ink will have different results (Canon mixes the 3 dye-based colors to produce black when printing photos, as the black cartridge is pigment based in this printer).
