Laser Transparency Computer Graphics Film

Laser Transparency Computer Graphics Film, Clear, 8 1/2 x 11, 50/Box
  • Sale Unit: BOX

I bought these transparencies to print out art grids, and the toner, both from a cheap Samsung laser printer and a high-end HP, bound to the film well. And, perhaps most importantly, the transparency didn''t melt in the printer, so it is indeed fit for laser.

I use a lot of this product and have for many years. Highlaand laser film is a great buy and has always done exactly as advertised. It gives crisp clear images every time.

Very inexpensive product, but totally fine.

I have already used 3 or 4 boxes since November, all ordered from this seller.

Each time I ordered it, it arrived promptly and in ready-to-use condition.

I definitely recommend.

HP DeskJet 5740 Color Inkjet Printer

HP DeskJet 5740 Color Inkjet Printer
  • Up to 23 ppm black, 18 ppm color, 26 ppm with optional cartridge
  • Up to 1,200 dpi black resolution, 4,800 optimized dpi color
  • Borderless photo printing on paper up to 8.5 by 24 inches
  • HP PhotoREt III color technology, PhotoREt IV with optional cartridge
  • USB connectivity, optional external print server; PC and Mac compatible

I have a small desk and that''s one reason I picked the Deskjet 5740. Both paper trays fold up neatly when not in use, making this one of the most compact printers I''ve ever used.

My #1 concern was text print quality as I do a lot of correspondence and not that much color photo printing. With inkjet paper (my favorite everyday paper is HP''s Bright White Inkjet which goes for $8 for 500 sheets), the results are outstanding. Text is crisp and black... it looks right out of a laser printer!

The Mac OS X drivers are top notch! It can handle inkjet Avery labels, card stock, envelopes, transparencies, and premium photo paper. Plus it gives you full control over ink density, color balance, and ColorSync (Be sure to download the latest printer drivers from HP''s website as the CD was a little out of date).

And when you use glossy photo paper, the color photos are just like film. Really outstanding photo printing from HP''s "home office" Deskjet line. It can also use the special "Photo" ink cartridge as well as the standard "TriColor" cartridge. The 5740 also accepts HP''s jumbo sized black and tri-color cartridges, which are double the size of a normal cartridge at a much better price.

You can''t get a better printer for $99!

Since we already have a scanner and a separate photo printer I just wanted a simple deskjet printer to use for family and school projects. I spent a day or so researching a bunch of different types and decided on this one. I couldn''t be happier. The print quality is fantastic and although it wasn''t a priority for me I was thrilled with the speed it prints both color and black and white pages. Just had a paper jam this morning (did I mention I have kids?)and rather than spending 10 minutes trying to rip the paper out of the machine, it very nicely rolled the whole stack right out. I *love* this printer and am amazed we got it for under $100.

Just because there is no official "Windows XP" badge on the printer or the Microsoft web site does not mean the printer "is not XP compatible". That just means Microsoft has tested it and certified it for the particular OS. I have owned many HP printers and have found them to be the most reliable. My only issue has been cartridge cost but after having owned a Canon printer with separate color tanks, I''ll stick with HP. As a previous poster stated about an Epson, you spend most of the time cleaning print heads. The poor sales guy at BestBuy was correct to say that the HP was trouble free. Of course this is a generality but for the most part, they are. I used to sell printers and the ratio of HP returns to other brands was wide. I would test returned merchandise and find that most items were fine. The problems are usually with the user or the user''s computer.

I purchased the 5740 early this year as a replacement to an HP 970Cxi. It was still running great but, my printing needs had increased and I wanted a newer model. At first, I was quite pleased with my purchase. I had used it for both b/w and color prints with no problems and then one day it just stopped printing in color. I naturally replaced the color cartridge thinking it had run out. Nope, that wasn''t the problem. I went through all the maintenance procedures they recommend...still nothing. I did the HP chat and he thought it might be a driver issue. I removed the printer and did a new install and for that day, the printer worked fine. I shut down my computer and when I rebooted the problem was back again. Did the whole removal...from the the registry and everything...and a fresh install. Again, it worked fine for the day and then died again. Nothing had changed on my computer...no new software or hardware. Spoke to HP again and he decided the unit was defective and suggested a replacement. I agreed. Sent back the unit, received the refurbished one and once again removed the drivers, etc and reinstalled. Bingo, this one doesn''t work either. Removed the 5740 and hooked up the old HP and installed its drivers. No problems. I tried the 5740 on another computer with XP and similiar problems ensued. I''ve decided it''s not my computer...it''s the printer. Another reviewer stated the drivers weren''t compatible with XP. I''d have to say that I agree.

We bought this about three months ago for typical home use and it has worked great. It is small, fast and quiet. The buttons on the front of the machine are very basic (On/Off, clear jam, cancel print and an indicator for ink level in each of the two cartridges). We are using this on an older PC that runs WIndows 98. The setup was a breeze, but you have to buy the USB cable separately. The software that comes with the printer is pretty standard. Black and white documents are clean and color documents come out good but not good enough to print high-end photos. For the price this is a great value for home use.

Lexmark X7350 All-in-One

Lexmark X7350 All-in-One
  • X7350 AIO 19/25PPM 48X12 USB

I bought this all-in-one about 1 year ago and it worked for about 6 months. After 6 months there was a message that said the print cartridge was low so I replaced them both with Lexmark cartridges. About 1 month later there was a message that stated the wrong cartridges were installed. I rechecked the Lexmark web site to make sure I had the correct cartridges and I did but I replaced them again anyway. Then the error message read ''right cartridge incorrect''. Nothing I did would correct the issue so I contacted Lexmark and they offered to replace the printer at no charge. The replacement printer arrived and did not look as nice as the one I had. It was a reman printer and would not communicate with the PC. After numerous chat sessions with the the Lexmark support staff and two phone calls later (took about 3 weeks) they admitted that the replacement printer was bunk and they would replace it. So I have two X7350s that are mere paperweights and quite possibly there is a third on the way.

This Lexmark is approximately my seventh Ink Jet Printer. I have had good success with the others, but this new Lexmark is the fastest and best thus far. In addition, the FAX capability is phenominal. I serve on a Governor''s committee and in the past have had to drive to review cases for my input. With my new Lexmark I have the pleasure of staying home and have the documents faxed to me and it is amazing the clarity and speed that it has. I have had some experience with Lexmark printers as my wife has one that came with her computer. After years of use, she too has had success and no problems. The others all worked fine, but my new Lexmark works excellently. I recommend consideration of this model when replacement time comes.

I''ve been using this all-in-one for 3 months now. So far, it''s been a great buy. I read reviews that it went through ink cartridges quickly, but with moderate use, I haven''t noticed that problem. Color print quality is ok.. maybe with the upgraded ink cartridges, it would be better. But if I was worried about that, I''d probably have gotten a dedicated photo printer. It''s cheaper to order prints online anyways.

They have a sticker on the packages saying the colors are brighter and they won''t crack. I tried those first and they are beautiful. I bought some more, but they didn''t have the sticker on them. Those must be what everyone here is reviewing. The old ones are indeed waxy with okay colors. I hope they don''t peel like everyone says. But those improved ones are wonderful brilliant colors and nice feel, not waxy at all. Trust me, there is a difference. I haven''t washed the new improved ones yet, but they do look like they are durable and will withstand the wash. Wish there was a way to tell if the package we are getting from Amazon is new or old. I think the stock number is the same.

UPDATE: It has been an entire year since I''ve done some thirty or so transfers using various brands. Those new and improved Avery transfers are the best. One year later, through repeated washings, the new and improved ones still look bright and beautiful. The others are old and faded. Look carefully on the package. If they are new and improved Avery, that''s the one you want.

It seems to me that what transfer paper tries to accomplish is pretty remarkable: a relatively easy way for people who do not have special equipment or skills to print their own images on fabric. In the past, transferring a design to fabric could be accomplished by silk screen (messy, complicated, and sometimes very expensive), by embroidery (needs a pretty well developed skill set and a *lot* of patience), by painting directly on the fabric with fabric paint (okay, how many of us are painters and able to create to our satisfaction the image of our pet or a favorite landscape as well as we can accomplish this digitally?), or by other more time consuming or skill-intensive means.

None of the methods mentioned are dummy-proof (I say this as a first rate crafts dummy, myself). In other words, the results are as likely to be disappointing as not. Unsurprisingly, for a number of reasons this is true of transfer paper, as well.

First, the image you see on your computer monitor is very likely not the image you''ll be able to replicate exactly on fabric. There are several reasons for this. First, you might already notice that the colors in your photos don''t print exactly as they appear on the monitor. If this is true, the calibration is off. Ways of addressing this differ, but put "color calibration" into a search engine.

Second, I get better results by making the image darker than for printing on photo or ordinary paper. I think this might be in part because...

Third, it has begun to seem doubtful that an ordinary iron can maintain temperatures hot enough to transfer the image fully, especially if the colors are supposed to be dark, deeply saturated, or bright. Although our iron can be set to very hot temperatures (ouch! ouch!), the iron is not in continuous contact with all of the image at once. Consequently, sometimes there is a little trouble with the image rippling and thus shifting a little. In the repeated passes that must be made with the iron, I suspect that the iron does not remain hot enough. Related to this, I think, is that the times proposed by the manufacturer for heating the transfer have not been long enough, sometimes by a factor of two or three.

So these are all reasons that one could say the product doesn''t work well. Still, for me it represents an interesting way of printing my own design on fabric. Mostly, I haven''t the patience or skills for other ways and for reliable results, I believe the better choice would be use the services of someone who has professional equipment and skill. But I really do enjoy experimenting, myself, to see what can be made.

For what the product is trying to do, it seems relatively inexpensive (though not cheap, by any means) to me. But the operative word really is "experimenting", because the results are by no means certain. I''ve knocked off a star because IMHO the manufacturer''s blurb leads people to expect more than the product is at this point capable of delivering. It really is an experiment and I can''t help feeling that folks would be less disgruntled if Avery were to dial back their description to one that is perhaps more realistic.

I used these for my students (3rd10th grade) to print a Photoshop design on tee shirts. They performed well for all of the students on tee shirts brought from home. Not all of the tee shirts were clean... not all of the students were good with ironing... but the tee shirts came out looking great. The tee shirt I made has small images on it from screenshots with textimages/text are crisp/clear despite small size.

As the instructions say: wash before wearing. The kids put theirs on right away but it felt too stiff to me. After washing, it is comfortable and still bright.

Notes: the iron we used was a heavy old iron with a fabric covered cord. I think this iron works better than the lighter weight modern sort. The instructions say to do 20 second passes across fabric, and that is perfect for kids, as they can count 1 hippopotamus, etc. Follow the instructions and be sure to load the paper in remembering which way your printer loads and prints paper. I used an unfamiliar printer where the paper needs to go in print-side down not up and printed the first one on the transfer backing by mistake.

Have fun!

I have had no problems with this product so far. I used it to print some graphics onto non-stretch 100% cotton fabric. My fabric was a dark beige color, and the color still came through really well.

For what it''s worth, I followed the ironing instructions VERY closely, and everything went super smoothly I was able to easily peel the backing away after letting the transfer cool for 2 3 minutes. I did notice that the transfer appeared slightly shiny on the fabric this wasn''t an issue for me, but I thought I''d mention it. Also, I was happiest with the results when I trimmed the paper as close as possible to the edge of the graphic I was transferring just a tip.

I haven''t tried washing the finished products yet hopefully they hold up reasonably well. If they don''t, I''ll update this review.

***UPDATE: I''ve now washed (cold water) and dried (low heat) the products a few times, and am happy to report that they have held up really well. No cracking, fading or bleeding.***

I tried several iron-ons. They go on easily enough, but crack almost immediately when you''re wearing them. small or large; doesn''t matter the size. I followed the directions carefully and even timed the ironing down to the second. Does''t matter--they crack! JUNK, and a waste of money. Now I have ruined T''s. One shirt I actually washed--it was ruined anyway--and the stuff flaked off in the washer. Same thing happens to HP transfers, according to the reviews. It could be the ink in the printers aren''t compatible? Reason why some are okay and some not? Don''t know but they need to put that on the package to warn people!

We had had problems printing certificates with the card stock version of this Wasau Natural Astroparche on our HP LaserJet printer. Flecks of ink would appear on the card stock. The HP manual said this was symptomatic of rough surfaced paper. Indeed, the card stock felt a little rough.

We tried this letter paper instead of card stock. It felt smoother. We found no flecks of ink on this letter paper. It works great!

Sure, it is nicer to give a certificate with a little more class than a flimsy piece of paper. Card stock would do that (but not with flecks of ink on it). Our solution was to buy some decent black plastic frames at the Dollar Store and stick the fine Wasau Astroparche certificates in them. It is actually much more impressive that way than the card stock, and still within budget.

This item is cheaper than what I could get at discount retailers like Walmart, and is of good quality. Adhesive is good, paper is bright white matte. I have only used with an HP inkjet printer, but specs say it could also be used with laser.

I like that the backing pulls off in several strips off the back rather than just one large one, it makes for easier transfer onto what you''re trying to stick it to.

I coupled this sticker paper with self-adhesive laminate paper for gloss and weather/water proofing.

Ink jet adhesive labels in general are ridiculously expensive. As these were the cheapest I could find, I did not have the highest expectations for them. I was pleasantly surprised. The quality is very good and the labels are fairly durable. I give them only four stars for two reasons. They are actually pretty difficult to peel, even though the backing comes off in strips. I ruined a couple of the labels trying to get a corner started on them so that I could get the backing off. Also, the labels have more of a matte texture than smooth (as the product page claims). They do not have the more glossy look that most labels have, but instead have more of a "Hello, my name is" texture and look to them. Still, for their price and their quality, I think they are more than worth the money.

This is the highest quality, easiest to use sticker paper I have come across.

UNLIKE the Avery brand, it adheres to both textured and slick surfaces, including all kinds of binders and dividers. Also, it STAYS there!

Also, the back of the page is slit vertically, making it very easy to peel. Also, there are many more slits than on the Avery sheets, making it more likely that whatever you cut out will have a slit to use for peeling. The back of the page is not printed, so the slits are easy to locate for peeling, unlike the Avery brand.

The paper itself is a very bright white, and a nice, sturdy thickness. It takes inkjet ink beautifully.

It''s the best out there!

I bought these to help make my son''s first birthday party memorable. The theme of his party was the Very Hungry Caterpillar. That is not exactly the latest Disney hit so finding party supplies was impossible. I had to customize everything for the partyincluding the games. The classic game of pin the tail on the donkey probably would have been good enough but I really wanted to make the game match the party theme. So I thought well, how about put the mouth on the caterpillar?

My only problem became, how do you get mouths for a caterpillar to stick to something without using tape? So of course, I turned to Amazon and found these. I was a little hesistant at first because some of the reviews weren''t so great. However, I think those are instances of people using them for the wrong purpose. This is sticker paper, not bumper sticker paper, or photo paper! As sticker paper it works great and the game was a total hit. Everyone was so impressed and wanted to know how I did it.

The value of the product is definitely worth it also. I prefer to use Avery products most of the time but their product was way pricier than this one. I was absolutely satisfied with the product and am now looking for fun ways to use the remaining sticker paper for my son. Or possibly as a gift. Maybe make some custom paper dolls for my nieces?

Highly recommend, your only limitation is your imagination.

  • 1,200 x 2,400 dpi scan resolution, 48-bit color
  • USB 2.0 and PictBridge connectivity; PC and Mac compatible

We are a long-established, technology-based counsulting and services company. We have thirty computers and nine HP printers on the LAN. We bought two 6210s for use at work stations for light to medium use (5 30 pages per day).

We could not be more pleased with the quality of the printed pages and the operation, but avoid heavy use because of excessive ink cost per page. (This is the reason why the printer cost seems absurdly low.)

Scanner, printer, and fax all worked great. The unit is very, very compact and handsomely styled a far cry from the earlier all-in-ones that these replaced. The paper feed tray could perhaps be improved. A small amount of care must be used to prevent stuffing the paper in too far.

Print cartidges have very little capacity. The color cartridge has a list price of $32.00 and yields 260 "standard" pages. That''s 12 cents per page. For the same standard page our older HP R60 all-in-one delivers 690 pages for a list price of $40.00 or $0.06 per page. I have not investigated black printing costs; but the black cartridge is also small. Googling "cost per page" and printer model will get you the cost info from a third party.

I just got my HP 2610 and like everyone else says, the software blows.

It took me maybe 4 hours to install the minimum drivers onto my Windows 2000 box. First of all, the CD-ROM that came with my printer would crash out at the same point in the install everytime. I ended up having to download the 350MB driver file off the HP support website. The install program isn''t very straight forward nor intuitive. Instead of directly installing drivers, it actually uses the windows new hardware detection wizard to find the appropriate drivers. It of course, tells you to insert a CD-ROM with the drivers, but I was installing off the 350MB image. In my mind, when I download 350MBs, it shouldn''t have to _ask_ me to find the drivers it should know where they are. Then the program seemed to hang for about 20 minutes on the last step in installation. It got past all that, and everything was finally installed!

Oye!

Right now everything seems to be great! I don''t notice any slowdown on boot times, nor does it seem like the HP Software seem to take up a lot of memory (only have 256M).

The printer itself is nice. I think a lot nicer than the 5510. The button layout seems more intuitive to me. I was considering the Canon Pixma 780, but the control panel of the Canon was cryptic. I''m a big stickler for good user interfaces.

Otherwise, like another reviewer mentioned, this printer is for light use since it uses super small print cartridges. 250 sheets per tank. So consider that. Move up to the 7210 if you think that''s going to be an issue. I did a calculation to see when i''d break even buying the 7210 with the larger ink cartridges. factoring in the initial price of the 7210, i''d have to print something like 7500 pages for the cost to be worth it. That''s a number I''m not going to cross anytime soon...

It took me about 5 or 10 minutes to set up! Although many complain about the cost of the ink, I just changed mine from the original that it shipped with last week. The trick is to print it just under normal settings, the black still comes out great and it lasts way longer. The other thing I do to keep the cost of ink down is order third party ink, there are quite a few sellers and I''ve never been disappointed.

The color quality is great, I print my own pictures off of a new digital camera.

I fax at least once a week from Wisconsin to Florida without ever having a single problem.

If I had to say there is a downside in comparison to my last all-in-one I would say that the printer says you have low ink, but it doesn''t specify how low in a percentage or bar like my last one did which was quite convienient. But, I just print until the black looks dull and then switch it out.

Overall, this all-in-one has been a great solution for my needs and I would definitely recommend it to others.

I was really excited, plugged everything in and tried it out.

The first try was just a plain color copy of a photo on to plain paper... Amazing... worked like a charm, not bad output.

Next test was a printout of a scanned in photo using imaging software... I used glossy photo paper and the thing jerked the paper out in spurts and printed only partial lines on the photo paper. So 1 expensive piece of paper wasted... so I tried another one and this time just using the copy feature of the all-in-one and bam... spit out the paper in the same way only printing a line every inch or so... then PAPER JAM ERROR. I cannot get rid of the message, I did everything HP says to do and still nothing. It''s going back to the store today and that''s it for this thing.

Over all it seems like a great machine but I''ve lost confidence in it now and will most likely purchase something from Cannon now.

(UPDATE: It died after one year of light-to-moderate use. The scanner light bar doesn''t come on anymore; therefore the scanning and faxing function are not working, making it just a printer. The "all", in All-in-one, broke.)

First, this machine is for light use at home. If you intend to print books off of this thing, get a laser jet. And the ink will cost you a FORTUNE!

I won''t go over the details that are mentioned above, but here is what I have noticed:

1) You MUST inhibit your "plug-n-play" desires; if you plug this machine into your computer BEFORE you load the software you WILL have problems! (follow the directions)

2) Yes, the software does take a while to load. But it''s worth it to have the ability to use all the cool features. (When it works.)

3) It''s a bit louder than I thought I heard in the store, but not too loud. I am using it at home, and I can hear it down the hall, so if that''s too loud...

4) In order to FULLY open the lid (to the glass), you will need at least 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) in clearance behind the machine. So, shoving this all the way against a wall is not recommended.

5) Paper jams. Had a few that took a good long while to figure out. There''s a little gray door on the back that you will become intimately familiar with -it''s the key to most printing jams (that happen quite frequently.)

6) The quality of the scan is great! Works with Adobe''s Acrobat and Photoshop CS. You just push the "Scan To" button until you see the program you want to scan to and then hit "Start Scan." So easy (when it chooses to recognize that you have these programs installed which is about every other time.)

7) Fax works well; easy to use.

8) If you are a dust freak... the dark gray plastic shows dust easily.

9) As another reviewer stated, the ink DOES NOT last all that long. There are, however, cartridges that have twice the capacity (at twice the price.)

10) I recommend testing the outlet you plan on plugging this into. First, be sure it has a working ground, and secondly, make sure it is producing the required voltage (115-120 volts). Why? My printer was giving me a "carriage jam" error after every page, among other problems. HP''s website has a 5-step walk-thru that found and fixed the problem (which was inadequate power from the outlet.)

1) Had recurring issues with the software, and HP help line was of no help. They kept telling me to just uninstall it and reinstall it. Then they got to the point where they were telling me that I didn''t know what i was doing. (Ummm, good thing it was done over the phone, buddy.)

Hmmm, I have changed my "HIGHLY recommended" review to a maybe-not-so-hot review. We had a bunch a small pestering problems the whole time we owned it. Not really built well.

Xerox Phaser 4510N Laser Printer

Xerox Phaser 4510N Laser Printer
  • Resolution: True 1200 x 1200 dpi
  • Print Speed: 36 ppm
  • Connectivity: Parallel, USB and 10/100Base-TX Ethernet
  • Paper Handling: 700 Sheet Input Capacity
  • Environments: Windows, Mac, and UNIX Compatible

I have owned this printer for several months. It is fast, the print quality is excellent, and I am especially pleased by how accurately it prints fine lines in line art.

However, the facilities for printing envelopes (the "smart" tray) are inferior. It only holds about 15 envelopes without jamming. If you want to print several hundred for a mass mailing, you have to sit and constantly feed the smart tray, and unjam it frequently.

The other problem is the sensor for replacing the toner cartridge. You are told your cartridge is low for weeks before it actually is, even if you run a home business where you use the printer heavily. And, you are not permitted to decide when to replace the cartridge. While the copies are still perfect, and there are no streaks or faint spots anywhere, the "replace cartridge" red light comes on and the printer will not print one single more page till you put in a new cartridge. Forget about running the printer a little faint for awhile, or shaking up the cartridge to get another hundred decent pages before you put in a new one. As cartridges are expensive, and there is no indication how much toner is really left in the cartridge you are forced to throw away, this is an expensive "feature."

I love hp paper, it''s the only one that doesn''t jam in my canon copier. In regard to the above review...It is for Laser Printers...if you are waiting for the ink to dry, then you have and InkJet. So you need to buy the version for that.

The print from HP Color Laserjet 5500 is excellent. It can''t be used on an inkjet as someone from the reviewer. It will not dry up.

Paper looks great blank. It''s been a few months and I''m still waiting for the ink to dry... seriously. Everything I''ve printed with this paper still smears badly.

Kodak 8263824 8.5inx11in 25-Sheet Inkjet Photo PaperI looked long and hard for a source for this paper after my stock ran out. We''ve been using this stuff for several years and it is great paper because it is coated on both sides and can be printed equally well on both sides. Also, it is quite heavy about the weight of good greeting cards. I therefore use this in my inkjet printer (which will print on both sides) for printing birthday cards and such. The only problem with this paper is that Kodak doesn''t make it anymore. If you can find a source that still has some in stock, buy it now!

I waited about a month and 1/2 for this printer to become available after its release earlier this year. I purchased the printer at Staples for 199.00, but returned my ''old'' one and received a 50.00 rebate, so my net cost was 149.00 for this product. I found the 3" LCD very easy to read and also very user friendly, as it takes you step by step while installing the printer to your network for the first time. It took about 30 minutes from out of the box, to fully function properly. I was torn between purchasing a laser vs an ink jet, but determined my needs were better suited for an inkjet and I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the pictures I created via the printer. The colors were amazing! I will upload a sample shortly. I found the wireless connection which allows me to print wirelessly without having to connect using a cable from the computer was awesome, as my wife usually works on her laptop, and this is great feature! The Canon MX882 operates with five ink cartridges; so when one specific color runs out, you just need to replace that one cartridge and not the entire array. I also noticed Canon installs easily to reach ''shortcuts'' on your pc to easily manage your function for your printer. The scanner worked well, as I was quikly able to scan an old 4x6 photo and upload it to my pc for easy sharing. You can also scan to e-mail as it will open up your e-mail and attach a scan to a new message. In a nutshell, very, very user friendly and the quality of the prints were great.

I recently replaced my old Pixma ip4000 with this new MX882. Set up was straight forward and without a glitch. The machine is nice to look at and prints very high quality photos and documents with great speed. The display makes it easy for those who are "technology challenged" to scan, copy, or fax without difficulty.

The wireless printing setup was fast and flawless.

My only reservations about this machine are:

1. The shiny black plastic body is a major dust collector and difficult to keep clean.

2. You can use EITHER the Ethernet connection OR the wireless connection, but not both. This is disappointing and requires you to toggle the printer between modes.

All in all I am very happy with this Canon multifunction machine. It is far superior to all the troublesome HP multi-functions that I''ve had in the past.

We owned a Canon IP6000 a few years ago and decided to buy an Epson Artisan 800 because of it''s multi tasking capabilities. That was a total mistake! I have had 4 printers in the last 2 years, under warranty, that Epson had to send me because the features kept going out on it!

I bought this printer at Staples yesterday and I am very pleased with it so far. The text quality is better than Epson''s and the photos are spectacular, just like the Canon that we used to own. The photos turn out just like you had them developed at the store. I waited for a month and a half for this printer to come out and I am not disappointed that I waited. Well worth the investment and I will be sticking with Canon!

My wife and I bought this printer yesterday. It''s setup was fairly straight forward until we tried loading the supplied driver/software disk on our two x64 Win 7 laptops. It kept hanging up while trying to load the disk. After a few attempts on both machines we went to Canon''s official site and downloaded the specific drivers/software for x64 Win 7. They downloaded quickly and without fuss. We would''ve saved a little time by skipping trying to load the disk and just getting the OS specific downloads from Canon''s site. So if you''re using x64 Win 7 skip the disc and go to Canon''s site.

I''m a Canon Gal. I''ve always had Canon printers -since the days way back in my Spent Youth, when Canon made printers for Apple. (We''re talking dot-matrix old.) The Pixma line has always been most excellent. The MX882 is a definite step up. I love this printer! I love anything that *auto duplexes* without me having to take the page out and re-feed it through facing the right direction. (I don''t know about you, but I *never* get the direction right on the first try.) It''s a true all-in-one that does everything it promises. Plus, it can, to quote my friend''s teenage daughter, "have sex with my phone and make pictures come out!" Grin.

For those not technically inclined, some of its functionality may seem daunting. Don''t be intimidated! It''s fairly plug and play. The screen on the printer will guide you through networking set-up, etc. If you can''t figure something out, Canon has excellent customer support.

Here''s what I love about the Pixma MX882:

It auto-duplexes (I''m a writer. I need this. Oh, you don''t know how *much* I NEED this!)

I can print from any room in my house

I can print photographs straight from my cell phone

It''s networked I can connect from various Wi-Fi devices as well as my laptop and desktop computers

It faxes like a mad thing

It scans beautifully

The print quality is excellent

It''s *fast*

Here''s what I don''t like:

This printer MUST have good, quality laser paper. Thin paper or draft paper upsets it and it jams, burps and refuses to pull the paper down from the back feeder. Being a Canon Fan, I expect this and use high quality paper.

It seems to be either it''s Wi-Fi or Ethernet. I don''t know why. Just is. (If I figure out otherwise, I''ll place a comment below my review.) I use Wi-Fi and USB.

Even though it has quirks, I give this printer 5 stars because the functionality and quality are excellent. It''s great for the price -and like all Canon printers, it''s a workhorse. I''m definitely sold on this all-in-one!!!
