It did not come with a template and when I contacted seller, they did not have a template to download. Only came with a sheet in packet with circles on it. Took me hours to figure out font and spacing to fit.

I have to admit I was very hesitant to purchase this; in many cases, even when a product claims Mac compatibility it usually is just a bare-bones port. When DYMO released v60-something of their software for Mac OS 10 (10.2, Jaguar) I decided to give it a shot. Man, am I glad I did.

This simple little device saves a lot of time. It works from most major programs, but I find a quick copy & paste into the DYMO Label program is just as quick.

Labels print in a second or two after hitting the print button (use the Preferences to bypass the Print Command Window altogether, BTW). This saves a lot of time (and cost) in regards to full-sheet Avery-type labeling.

I''ve only played around with the large format Shipping Labels (DYMO 30256, 2 5/16 x 4) but there''s a wealth of sizes and shapes available.

Images as well as text print sharp, depending on format of the image. I''ve done all sorts of client labels as well using their labels for them; they''re all quite happy with the quality and I believe more than one has purchased one of these.

The only problem I''ve come across is address book saving; I can''t seem to get it to save an address. I''m probably missing something but, as mentioned above, it''s just as easy to do a quick copy & paste, for instance, from OS 10''s own Address Book (which would seem to be the ideal program for DYMO to tie into).

A few cautionary notes:

1. when printing from Outlook the program only recognizes business addresses

2. the thermal printing labels you must use with this printer aren''t exactly cheap

3. the template provided for use in Word reinstalls itself by modifying the default document template each time you open Word, which is annoying if you have Word set to notify you before saving the default template.

Otherwise I am completely satisfied with this printer and expect to use it for many years.

I''ve owned a laser printer since the first HP IIP came out almost 15 years ago. It''s always been handy to print labels for letters, packages, etc. on my laser printer. However, I''ve always had to use a whole sheet of labels to print just one and then reuse the sheet. What a mess. This product ends those problems! I''m a gadet lover and this product is the best gadet I think I have ever purchased! It prints a single label in about 2 secs. Faster than I can reach to get a label it''s already printed. I have a Powermac G4 and a powerbook + an airport express.

This thing is great, it is plugged into the powermac. I just selected "share printers" from the System Settings menu.

When we want to print a label we can do it from either computer in seconds. The Dymo software works well on the mac and we can print directly from address book.

First, I do not use the software included. I use the LabelWriter with FileMaker, so it took me a bit longer to set up a layout that prints perfectly onto the labels. I only use the file folder labels, and I simply go to my FileMaker file, type in one or several labels and click print. As soon as the print dialog goes away (about 2 seconds), the LabelWriter Turbo 330 starts rolling out labels. It is great for printing folder labels one at a time.

Also, I like the fact that it does not take a print cartridge, so i dont know how long it will last, but I''ve been using mine over a year with no problem.

If you are kind of obsessive about having all of your file folders organized and labeled neatly, this is the printer for you. It''s very fast (about twice as fast as my old LabelWriter 300, which finally wore out after about 2-3 years of use). It does work, you will enjoy using it.

I bought this Brother printer to replace an HP 2840 color laser. I like the Brother. It''s smaller and quieter. It doesn''t have to calibrate a couple times a day either. Scans are way faster than the HP and the scan quality if far better than the HP. Copies and printing are great, as expected. I don''t ever fax so I can''t address it''s capabilities there.

I found one limitation with this printer that prevented me from giving it five stars. The printer can only be used as a network printer attached to the router via an Ethernet cable or it can be a workstation printer supporting one PC attached via a USB cable. If your using Windows networking to share the printer (i.e. it''s connected to one PC via USB and enabled for print sharing), it''s not supported. What? You got it. Brother won''t let you share the printer other than to have it setup as a network printer attached to the router.

This is an issue if, like me, the router is nowhere near the printer and you want to do a lot of scanning using the PC based utilities vs. the little screen on the printer. You can scan with it as a network printer but you can only do it using the function keys on the printer itself. You lose the benefits of the PC software based approach. If you do any volume of scanning, you want the PC utilities enabled.

I was able to work around the problem and get it working like I wanted but it took a couple days working on and off to sort out. I called Brother technical support. They kindly told me the printer doesn''t support what I wanted to do and I should return the product. What? Unbelievable!!

To get it to work as a shared USB attached printer, you have to go through the CD install process on each PC. That''s okay once you understand that''s the process.

The only remaining limitation is quickly setting up a temporary shared user. Say your brother-in-law is in town for the weekend and needs to print. He can''t use the Windows "Add a printer" function and get to your Brother printer. You have to go find the CD and do a full install for your brother-in-law to print his Mapquest directions home. It''s not a huge problem but Brother should not have designed it this way.

The Brother 9120CN has very limited adjustment for making copies you can''t lighten it enough to get a clean copy of a newspaper article something my old HP 2840MFP handled fine. Normal computer print is OK, as it would be from most any laser printer, but the manual feed slot is poor. It only folds out about an inch, so it won''t support your paper; you have to hold each sheet until it feeds very inconvenient. The first time I used manual feed, I experienced the problem that others have reported where the printer says it has a paper jam, even though it doesn''t. But, you go through a long process to reset the printer, only to have it repeat the error message. I sure wish I hadn''t bought this turkey, but Brother has refused to let me return it after I identified all these issues.

Exactly as described. Setup was simple and straight-forward. It is a bit loud when it''s starting up, but once it goes back to sleep, it''s quiet again. For an office use this would be no problem. If you did a *lot* of printing at home, the noise might be a bit bothersome. But otherwise, this appears to be a great product.

I purchased this printer for a new start-up business.

I only needed the printer for text and simple graphics. Out of the box, it was easy to set up and worked perfectly. Everything was working well until suddenly a message appeared telling me to replace the toner in all 3 of the color cartridges.

I have used a number of printers in the past and am able to recognize when toner is low. The last page printed was perfectly fine...lots of color. The printer stopped at 9PM the evening before I had a big paper due; so I contacted the Brother support website (the phones were closed). After further research, it appears that there is a revolution counter used by the printer to indicate when the cartridges are empty. How on earth would all the cartridges empty at the same time?

Here is how the chat went:

John: Hello, Scott. Thank You for contacting Brother Chat Support. Just a moment while I review your issue.

John: Pushed Page:

John: If the problem continues after updating the firmware you''ll need to replace the empty toner cartridge(s) to clear the error. John: Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Scott: Yes, there is something else you can help me with. I tried the firmware update and it did not work. I have a paper due at 8AM tomorrow morning and need the printer to work. The last page printed perfectly, so I cannot imagine that the printer is so suddenly out of ink. Can you help me override this message so that I can print my paper?

John: If one of the color toner cartridges is empty you can print in grayscale mode using the instructions at the link I provided above. If the black toner cartridge is empty it will need to be replaced before you can continue printing.

Scott: Thanks John. But I need color urgently. Is there truly no way to override this? The cartridges are NOT EMPTY!

John: No, there''s not a way to override the error message.

Scott: John, may I speak with your supervisor or manager, because I will suffer greatly if I cannot print my paper by tomorrow morning.

I found a solution that worked. Go to EBay and search for "flag gear" for your particular printer. I paid 13 dollars for a set of four flag gears. They are fairly simple to attach to the side of the cartridges and will allow you to continue printing as if you have new cartridges. I have already printed an entire additional ream of paper (albeit not demanding much ink). So Happy It Worked! Buy the printer, but also buy a set of flag gears so you can reset cartridges. I won''t change my rating though, as I feel this practice is still not acceptable (not transparent).

Canon PIXMA MG6320 Black (or White) Wireless Color Photo Printer with Scanner and Copier

OVERVIEW:

This is a sweet spot for the Canon PIXMA line with a lot of bang for the buck. This is the new replacement for MG6220, only available since December 2012.

PROS:

------

Like its predecessor MG6220, this has one more color than the MG5320/MG5420, GRAY, mostly for improved black and white results and to better darken colors. I can''t tell the difference gray makes with color pages, but some reviewers can.

Like its predecessor MG6220, this has an ETHERNET connection (unlike MG5320/MG5420), allowing a solid, simple shared/network wired connection that stays up even when computers are down.

Only model that comes in WHITE (in addition to the usual black).

Like the new MG5420 (and unlike MG5320/MG6220), has a handy separate 4"x6" and 5"x7" photo paper drawer at the front.

It is a bit shorter/squatter than its predecessor MG6220, which for some is a nicer form factor if on a desk, for example.

The new ink tanks for the MG6320/MG5420 also come in an XL size now which reduces the page cost significantly. The inks themselves in the new tanks are the same formula.

The touch screen content-sensitive interface is getting rave reviews, however, I find the old interface just as easy, but the unanimity of positive reviews for it suggests it really is much better for many.

For copying/scanning the top comes easily off (unlike the previous generation MG6220).

The MG6320 (and the new MG5420) has 2x the number of black ink nozzles as their predecessors MG6220/MG5320. This allows more efficient use of black ink and greater dot accuracy.

With 10+ years of having a number of their products I have always found Canon to have great customer service, which for U.S. customers appears to be based out of Maryland and Virgina.

LESSER PROS:

5-15% faster printing than last generation depending on b&w vs. color, quality, etc.

Can print directly from CF memory cards unlike the last generation, if that is important to you.

Wider selection of devices that can print directly to it than the last generation.

CONS/WARNINGS:

-----------------

This is very new (end of last year) and as such can be expected to have more issues than after some time passes.

The inks are different than for the last very recent generation (for both this new MG6320 and new MG5420) and thus are at this time (early 2013), hard to find available at stores or online.

For copying/scanning, the lid telescopes up for books only to the thickness of around a cellphone, whereas the previous generation MG6220 telescoped up to around twice that. On the other hand the top COMES OFF easily now with the MG6320.

The 50 second or so MG6320 cleaning/prepping routine has a short few second burst of mechanical grinding noise not heard in the MG6220 or MG5320 that starts around 20 seconds into the routine. One can hear it across a mid-sized room. This 50 second routine starts roughly 1m10s after start-up, for example. Quiet Mode does not mitigate this. If you are wondering, quiet mode quiets the actual printing a little at the cost of a little speed.

No built-in fax, if this is important to you in an all-in-one. Perhaps you want to get a dedicated one of your choosing near a phone line anyways, however if you are looking for a built-in fax the MX922/MX892 printers do. This comes at a cost of not getting the higher end scanning of the MG models, though this may only matter to you if you are scanning negatives, MX922/MX892 scanning meets most other needs including most graphics needs, just as well.

SUGGESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

See below consideration to select it not to automatically shut-off to reduce ink wastage.

Consider choosing to print black & white or grey scale when color isn''t necessary, otherwise the printer may choose to layer colors to get black instead. Canon feels the black is better with the color layering though, you decide :).

If you need something NOW that you will use a lot NOW, and the GRAY and ETHERNET is potentially useful you might consider weighing the pros and cons of getting the older MG6220 since it uses inks that are easy to find at stores and online. The MG6220 is pretty cheap now, too, since it is being replaced, perhaps $95-$100.

If the GRAY and ETHERNET (MG6320/MG6220) is for sure useless to you and you''d like a SMALLER FORM FACTOR, you might consider looking into the MG5320/MG5420, which are otherwise somewhat similar.

Use Canon paper when you need optimal results with their ink, and test matte vs. glossy. Matte is much less expensive and may meet most of your needs. Let me know in comments if anyone finds a comparable quality and yet significantly less costly photo paper for this printer, I''d like to test it out.

When doing black & white, for example text, choose HIGH QUALITY setting (and perhaps set it as the default) in the printer page set-up, it really makes a difference.

The Canon site has lots of easy to find product comparison information for these inkjets, you might consider reviewing it before committing on a model.

As soon as you can after getting your printer, print samples of full color, b&w, borderless photos, print on a DVD if that''s important to you, etc. Determine if you have a lemon before you get too busy with other things so you can exchange for a good one while it is easy to do. These are complicated machines with lots of parts.

INK USAGE:

Anyone researching the Canon Photo Printers will likely be concerned about ink costs. Here are 5 things you can do to mitigate this with the MG6320:

Buy the XL versions of the ink, this is supposed to reduce the cost per color page to a very competitive 13-14 cents per page (vs. 16-19 cents).

As noted above, choose to print black and white or grey scale when that will do just fine to avoid black made from layers of colors.

Turn off the automatic shut-off. Standby mode uses 0.9W, so on standby even all year uses around 8kWh/yr., so around $1/yr depending on where you live. This can help lessen the number of 50 second cleaning routines as it runs around a minute after start-up and often at shutdown. It runs the cleaning other times, too, which is good as it keeps things from clogging.

Avoid printing pages with solid or heavily colored background in color when possible.

Some fonts use 20-40% less ink than others. According to a leading consumer magazine, Times uses much less than Arial which uses much less than Calibri, for example.

NOTE #1: If there is no printing or cleaning routine at least once a month or so, select it to run a cleaning routine (easy to do) or turn it off and on to force it to once a month or so to keep the nozzles unclogged. If they clog talk to Canon support for what is often an easy solution.

NOTE #2: The MG6220, MG6320''s predecessor, has a low ink early warning bug. For example, when I take ink from a MG5320 and put it in a MG6220, the low ink warning bars show the ink as vastly lower. This helps exaggerate the appearance of high ink usage. Actual ink usage is high enough that this bug is pretty unwelcome. If it wasn''t for a leading consumer magazine''s highest photo quality rating for all-in-ones and their estimated page cost that wasn''t crazy, and lots of other favorable reviews, I think this bug could have been much worse for MG6220 sales. This might make you feel better about MG6320''s past lineage and/or buying a MG6220 due to concern over MG6320''s newness and ink availability.

NOTE #3: Gray is supposed to go much faster than the rest, thus you wouldn''t want to measure average speed of ink usage based on gray. I haven''t tracked it in comparison to the other inks myself.

NOTE #4: Just an informative, probably not very useful factoid :). This model range of Canon inkjet doesn''t do a big cleaning/purging after it prints, you are usually hearing head realignment. However, it does quietly "prime the head" to keep the heat from ink clogging the print head and this uses a little ink (even for B&W). This is much less ink than with the big cleaning/purging routine that is much rarer if you set the printer not to auto shut-off.

I am really impressed with this printer from Canon. It scans, prints, copies, prints 2-up, prints CD/DVD disks, etc. The included software is impressive and it is very compact for all-in-one device. It can be operated wireless or direct connect. I have it USB-connected to one computer and wireless to another plus an iPad. This is an excellent machine. This is the second time I have purchased it I changed jobs but wanted to take the machine. It functions exactly as it is supposed to.

The only thing I wish they would add is the ability to keep the time if the power goes out.

To start off, let me say that I am traditionally not a fan of HP''s products. I did, however, view this all-in-one as having some nicer features than some others and took a chance.

I feel that generally HP does well with hardware products and or designs but struggles with their software integration with their products. I feel this is the case here as well. I have had my 3210 for about 2 weeks and here are my experiences.

Pros:

i) Scanning resolution and overall quality is quite good.

ii) Printing quality is also good. I wasn''t planning on doing a ton of printing but based on experiences I will probably do more than anticipated because of the good results.

iii) Scanning and printing are both pretty quick. Marketed as the fastest picture printer all-in-one on the market... can''t compare with others but I suspect they are correct here.

iv) I was happy to find in my research that replacement ink cartridges are NOT terribly expensive and they are easy to replace and know if they are running low.

Cons:

i) Paper magazine is small so it doesn''t hold a lot -minor.

ii) Software install was more of a pain than I was expecting. Installation on WinXP SP1 was generally OK but on WinXP SP2 it was a struggle. Not HP''s fault, certainly, but they weren''t able to make the installation easier to prevent some of these isssues or frustrations. I hope they have a lot of tech support people available as this product sells.

iii) Network configuration was not as automated or straight forward as they could have been.

iv) Software interface isn''t as easy and fluid as it could be. I think that those who purchase this product that don''t have some comfort with computers will be on the phone with HP often.

Overall, I am pleased with the purchase thus far but still have some configuration to work through. In HP''s defense, I haven''t called or emailed their tech support -but I shouldn''t have to and my schedule makes this tough. Again, I feel the hardware implementation is quite good but their installation software and interface is lacking.

Buy HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One Printer Now

After reading all the reviews here, and against my better judgment, I bought a 3210 because it had the exact features I was looking for in a multi-function device. My experience was light years apart from what the others have left on this site. Please understand that I carefully read the instructions and gave some thought to the process before connecting the printer to my network. Additionally, my system is clean and well maintained; i.e., I have no spyware, adware or viruses, and run weekly scans to keep it that way. Your mileage may differ.

Software install no issues. At 1.1GB it''s a big install, but I had no problems with it. The installer correctly detected my firewall and had me disable it after I detached my network from the Internet. After the required reboot, it finished installing without any hiccups. I also made sure to click on the "HP Software Update" within the HP Solution Center before doing anything further, installed the rest of the updates and rebooted. Again, no issues at all after making sure the software load was completely current.

Network configuration no issues. I have a custom configuration for my network; I setup the IP address on the 3210 manually and added the printer to my router and firewall *before* installing the software. During the installation process, the installer spotted the printer at the correct IP address that I had already given it and moved forward without any incident.

Paper pickup and out of paper notices no issues. I use GP Advantage Premium Ink Jet paper from CostCo and am having no issues whatsoever. Same thing with bulk Kodak photo paper from CostCo. Most inkjet printers have an issue with overfilling the paper tray, so I keep mine under filled. No problems with getting erroneous out of paper messages. The plain paper output looks acceptable in rough draft and stellar in high resolution; the photo paper output is just drop dead gorgeous in hi-res; neither paper exhibited any evidence of gouges.

PDF creation no issues. The software works as designed, without wasting any paper or creating gibberish. Black and white, gray or color, all the settings worked as I expected them to and created perfect PDF documents.

Hardware buttons no issues. All the buttons work like they should on the printer. Additionally, all the buttons within the software residing on the PC work as advertised as well.

Ink usage no issues. The ink usage is as I expect so far. With plain paper I use the draft mode on everything except for what others see; I never print photos of any kind on plain paper (plain paper is a sponge for printer ink). With photo paper I use a very glossy finish, which helps keep the ink usage down. I was quite surprised by the tiny containers of ink that are used in the printer, but nothing more than that. I''ll have a better idea how the 3210 ink usage compares to my old inkjet this next Christmas when I print out my annual calendar gifts to family members.

Noise no issues. Compared to many other printers and scanners I''ve used over the years, both HP and non-HP, the 3210 is *very* quiet. The sound rises when scanning really high DPI levels, but is whisper quiet at the default 300 DPI for low-res scans.

Overall impressions 5 stars. The printing is superb, the device is quiet, it has built-in networking, everything works as I expect for it to; what''s not to like? My experience has been unlike the others listed here don''t know why and I''ll continue to buy and recommend HP products.

Being a fond believer in HP products, and a strong believer in doing my research before I buy something, I picked up a 3210 in December 05''. After the first 150 prints the printer stopped picking up the paper and it would say it was out or paper. I had to open the back of the printer and clean off the rollers to get it to work.

BUT!!! Then I talked to a local HP Sales representative in the store, and he stated that HP dropped one of their roller manufacturers for this reason. They were manufacturing a roller that would also leak fluid causing the paper pickup to slip. (They are a gray color if you open the back of the printer) HP has a new company that supplies new rollers (Black color) If you end up with a printer and after the first 100-1000 prints you are having this problem, check the color of the rollers. I am guessing they will be gray in color. In any case, if you are having this issue, make sure you call HP and talk to someone that knows of this issue. They will honor this issue, and you will receive a new printer. Not ALL gray rollers have this issue either! The tech department of HP are aware of the flaw. (why else would they drop the manufacturer :))

After my new printer, with the black rollers, I am up and running for over 5000 prints already. GO HP!!!!!

I purchased the HP 3210 to replace a six year old laser printer. I read several reviews before deciding on this model, but apparently I didn''t read closely enough.

Setup of the printer was a breeze, and for the first week or two things seemed to work flawlessly. Most of what I do at home is just some light document printing, which worked like a charm. I also played with the scanning, as well as the copying of a photo, which was really very cool. Again, it just worked great and I was pleased with the purchase.

Then after a couple of weeks I started getting an "Out of Paper" message on the display, despite the fact that the tray was full. I did all the usual stuff, pulled the tray out, reshuffled the paper, put it back in, and reset. The printer seemed to work OK again, until the next time I''d print a document.

Honestly I really didn''t pay that much attention to the issue until the other day when I was doing some research for my job and wanted to print out a 45 page document. A complete nightmare; I spent 2 hours of a Sunday afternoon just trying to get the output. It would print a page, then give me the error. I hit the OK button, it clicks and whirs a little, spits out another page, and then the same error.

This all happened while using HP''s premium Inkjet paper. I tried another brand of multi-purpose paper (20# weight instead of 24#) with equally poor results.

The problem has just gotten progressively worse, and I''m at a loss as to what to do. I purchased at Circuit City in early April so I doubt they will accept a return. My only recourse will probably be to contact HP, which I haven''t tried yet but will.

It is really a shame because, aside from this major problem, the printer is everything I need. The right size, functions, etc. Now I''m just hoping that I can recoup some of my investment.

I''m very disappointed and really expected more from HP. Obviously, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this printer.

*****ADDENDUM*****

6/11/06: After writing the above review I contacted HP tech support regarding the "Out of Paper" problem. I was expecting this to be a nightmare but I was actually quite impressed with the hold time (less than 2 minutes) and customer service. Anyway, after describing the problem the HP rep acknowledged that this has been a documented issue with this model. Of course he put a postive spin on it and said "since this is a new printer and the technology is very precise, etc.). Bottom-line: By default the printer is set to "Automatic" paper size and "Automatic" paper type. The HP rep instructed me to change these settings to "Letter" and "Premium Inkjet Paper" respectively. Doing this did in fact seem to solve the problem. So in essence, the "Automatic" settings do not work on this printer (as obviously they should). However this "workaround" is acceptable. *If you do try this be sure to save the settings as turning off the printer will reset the defaults back to "Automatic" unless you have taken the extra step to save settings.

One last note: Even with these settings changes I did still receive the dreaded "Out of Paper" message when the tray got a little low (about 10-15 sheets left). Anyway, I''m going to work with it for a few days and see how it goes.

I still wish I''d bought the Canon Pixma MP800!

Just recently I have been looking for an all in one printer that can also print good quality photos. I have always bought HP printers so I went to the hp site and looked at what they offered and decided to buy the hp photosmart 3210. So I came to amazon and was surprised to get it at a really great price.

Anyway, after ordering I noticed many negative reviews here, mostly about paper feed problems. I was a little worried after reading so many bad reviews but I''m glad I bought it, it is a great printer. In one review I read something about hp having problems with the rollers which was causing the paper feed issue and that they dropped that company and started using new rollers which are black rather than gray. So the first thing I did when it arrived was open the back and check the roller color and they were black.

So far I have printed over 100 pages and havent had any paper feed problems. Software install was really simple and i didnt have any problems with it. The photo quality is great even on the normal quality setting. Also the ink doesnt seem to get used up that quick, as i said before, i have printed over 100 pages and about 20 photos and the ink levels havent really gone down at all.

I have recommended this printer to a friend and he has placed on order for it and i would recommend it for anyone else looking for a great all in one printer that can do great quality photos. It seems that HP has fixed the paper feed issue with the black rollers. If I have any problems with paper feed I will update my review.
