Ilford Galerie Double Sided Premium RC Smooth Lustre Duo Inkjet Paper

Ilford Galerie Double Sided Premium RC Smooth Lustre Duo Inkjet Paper, 280 g/m2, 8.5x11'', 25 Sheets
  • Double-sided - Ideal for invitations, flyers and books
  • RC media - Reduced processing time, curl resistant

I am a photographer & have made all my own cards (Christmas & otherwise) for many years. Recently however, it has not been easy finding quality 11 X 8.5 double-sided photo paper with which to do so. This paper is superb, and the ability to use icc profiles in photoshop for most Epson Printers (used with 2200 & 3880) makes it a dream. Highly recommended!

G&G Compatible Time Clock Ink Ribbon Replacement for Amano PIX-200 PIX-21 PIX-28 Black

G&G Compatible Time Clock Ink Ribbon Replacement for Amano PIX-200 PIX-21 PIX-28 Black, 3-Packs
  • New Compatible Replacement Black Ribbon Cartridge
  • ISO 9001 certified high quality long life ink ribbon
  • Amano / Amano Cincinnati PIX series, TCX series, MJR8500, EX series, NS-5100, BX-6000
  • Pyramid 6200, 6400 Icon SP-250, TL-300
  • Rapidprint D900 Stromberg JCV 1000, STR614, E1100, SPX-2000

There were no reviews when I ordered this, so I was apprehensive. I didn''t want to waste my money on unofficial ink or ruin my time clock. So far, so good. The ink works just fine for my Amano PIX-200. It prints clearly and doesn''t smudge. It remains to be seen if it will last as long as the official ribbons, but for 3 ribbons for less than the price of one, this ink has done what it was supposed to do.

HP J3680 Officejet All-in-One Printer

HP J3680 Officejet All-in-One Printer
  • Compact color All-in-One inkjet printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine
  • Print and copy at speeds up to 20 ppm black and 14 ppm color
  • Fax in full-color as fast as 3 seconds per page
  • 20-sheet ADF and 100-sheet input paper tray
  • High-resolution scanning capabilities up to 19,200 dpi (enhanced)

I bought the HP J3680 for my small business. I needed dependable printing of invoices and mailing labels, plus the ability to copy and scan. I also wanted a printer I could take on the road if I had to. The HP J3680 fit those requirements like no other printer I could find. On top of all that, I found a great price on Amazon.com

Caveats: I''ve used this only for printing black and white text.

Pros: Compact. Easy setup (Mac). Built in phone. Ink available everywhere. Takes up very little space on desk. The copier has many features to customize your job. The menu prompts are easy to follow. The phone (yes, even a phone!) has good sound.

Cons: Printing not the fastest, but the quality is exceptional. Cartridges are a bit finicky when being changed, but you''ll get the hang of it once you''ve done it.

Bottom Line: I''d buy it again. Very nice for the start-up small business or general home use.

Originally reviewed this printer in mid-2008 and reserved 1 star due to not knowing long-term performance. Have now had this item well over one year, and it is still going strong. Print quality is exceptional; copies look like originals. Fax works great and so does the scanner. Phone is a bonus. Best price was on line--including shipping, it cost less than at my local store. Easy to set up; software easy to install. Great item.

So the printer is great except for one thing. The only way to scan and photocopy items is by feeding them through the printer, this means that it is impossible to photocopy a page from a book or from a notebook without physically ripping the page out. As a student, this is a total bummer to me. Other than that, I haven''t used all the tools like the fax yet but it seems to be working well. My other issue is that installing it to my laptop was a huge pain. My laptop kept trying to automatically install the hardware but it couldn''t locate the info from the internet, then when I tried to install through the disc it kept giving me problems. Eventually it worked though.

I have not had this printer for very long, and it is not my primary printer. I purchased it because I was looking for a printer that had a copy function that would copy legal size paper and had an atomatic document feeder. The price on the newer ones with these features are out of my price range and the ink is more expensive. I have always enjoyed my HP products so that was another +. The fact that it can be used as a fax, copier and auxillary printer for the low price I paid makes it a winner in my book.

I bought this product becuase I needed a scanner with automatic document feed; I have been thrilled with how easy it was to set up; I can now scan 20 pages at a time, and turn into a pdf document within just a few minutes. Have not had one jam in the month that I''ve had it. Color prints are very nice. Great deal for the money!

This was a much better yield than the 68 or 69 that I accidentally bought the last time. 97 was what originally came with the printer and it lasted us a year. I couldn''t tell you how many copies that is, but we are a homeschool family with a home office that uses the printer daily. I was very pleased with how long it lasted.

I really enjoyed the Premium Glossy Photo Paper which came with my Epson Stylus CX3810. Believing that this was the same stuff, I picked it up. To my dismay I learned that every shingle sheet is not 4x6, but actually larger. This paper is intended to be used with software called LivePix which doesn''t even come with every Epson printer (and apparently not with mine). It does have a 4x6 section with perforated edges, but that doesn''t help me at all unless I have the software. As a result, I had to tear all the perforation off of every sheet before I could use it with the printing wizard already in Windows XP. This is junk. You are better off buying some other kind which is already 4x6.

This paper is designed for printers that do not allow edge to edge printing. It allows such printers to make true-sized 4x6 inch prints. Yes, you do need to set your printing preferences, and you do need to remove the edges after printing. Easy for most. If you do not mind prints slightly smaller than 4x6 with borders on 4x6 paper, or if your printer does edge-to-edge printing, then buy regular Epson 4x6 paper.

The autoselect feature does not work and it''s a major problem for a network printer with 3 paper input trays. Push the wrong button in your word processor and it will reprogram the driver to work in manual mode only with no instructions in how to undo this. The 2100 is a great home printer, the 2100TN is a lousy office printer.

Overall this is another nice printer from HP. We bought the TN networked version including PostScript capability for our Home Office where both my wife and I print from our respective computers and/or laptops. The setup and install of the network configuration drivers is a snap. Our network has a DHCP/Firewall device to share the cable modem and this printer works great in this "floating IP address" configuration. The print speed is good and the 1200 DPI resolution/print quality is notably better than our other HP-6P printer we still use as well.

I have only two compaints about the printer. First, in this day and age the Ethernet should be 10/100-BaseT capable. We knew it didn''t have the support when we bought it, but it doesn''t seem worth the extra money to buy the more expensive print server that supports it. Again, I think this an expected network feature nowadays. The second complaint is the sound level of the printer. It is definately noisier than the HP-6P that we have. The noise concern is not so much the printing noise as a small fan (I assume) that turns on and off while it sits idle. When there is any background noise going on you don''t notice it, but when I''m working alone it can be distracting at times when it either turns on or off and changes noise levels.

In any case, overall, we like the printer and our happy with the purchase.

My IT people bought me the HP 2100 for use as a personal printer in my university office. I liked it so much that I bought one for my home office to replace an old HP 4L. It has been an excellent purchase and I highly recommend this printer. When working at home, I now have the print speed to download and print out legal decisions from the web or Lexis, which was too painful to contemplate with the slow speeds of the HP 4L. I get 8-10 pages per minute regardless of whether the printer is set for draft or top quality modes. So only the longest legal decisions take more than a couple of minutes. Of course, as a law professor, I''m not often printing out graphics intensive files. Charts and figures do slow down the print speed some, so a more graphics intensive user might want to look at alternatives. I''m also not using it in a network environment at home and, at work, I don''t share it with other users. So, again, your mileage may vary.

Both my HP 2100M and 2100TN have been extremely reliable. They are quiet, the paper never jams, they have a reasonably large main paper tray, handle single sheet feeds fine. I''ve generated several camera ready texts on my HP 2100TN using the top quality print settings and had no complaints from readers or publishers, So for a low-volume, mostly text setting, this seems like an ideal printer

I received this printer as a "gift" from a friend whose business no longer required the services of this printer. I knew it had the built-in Ethernet NIC, but I opted to use it instead with my Linksys WPS11 v3.1 print server in wireless mode. While the original software with the WPS11 no longer works with Windows 7, I was able to get it to work using LPS and manually configuring the printer in Windows.

The print quality is good; better than my Kodak inkjet printer. Since the toner cartridge in the printer is old, I do get some artifacts, but that should go away when I put in a new cartridge. Speed is decent (8-10 ppm), and it''s not nearly as loud or noisy as some make it out to be. Sure, it makes noise when it prints, but no more than an inkjet printer does.

Print drivers that work with this printer in Windows 7 are the LaserJet 2200 ESC6 drivers. I used this to make mine work and have had no problems.

The printer itself is built like a tank. The replacement toner cartridges are inexpensive here on Amazon as compared to the toner cartridges for other LaserJet printers. The toner cartridge is rated to last around 1200 pages or so. I have not yet had to replace my toner cartridge although I print around 10-40 pages a week. At this rate, it''ll be a LONG time before I have to change toner cartridges!

For the price that this printer is available for on Amazon, I highly recommend this printer. There are others you can get that are probably faster and more up-to-date, but if you want to save some money and get a basic laser printer, the LaserJet 2100 TN is not a bad choice.

We have been using this printer in our workgroup for about5months. Contrary to some reviews posted on Amazon earlier, we found that the printer is very quite, requires almost no time to warm up, and prints with excellent quality. I never measured how many pages it actually prints per minute, but its speed is certainly adequate for a small workgroup. User interface is inconvenient since it is limited to three poorly labelled buttons and three LEDs, and one has to refer to the user manual to interpret their blinking pattern each time something goes wrong. However, paper jams or malfunctions happen very seldom, if ever, and one does not have to use those buttons often.

Although our printer has a network card, we decided for the sake of installation simplicity to connect it to a Win-95 PC and share it on the network. This resulted in a problem that a Win-NT computer could not access the printer since HP drivers for NT were not fully compatible with drivers for Win-95/98 ...

I''d say its an entry-level laser printer for a workgroup. I would not recommend to buy it for home office in this pricy configuration with two paper trays and a network card.

I have been looking for a reasonably priced duplex ADF scanner for some time now, I want to scan a file cabinet of documents and shred the originals. I thought this HP was it, it isn''t. I spent several hours over a few days giving this guy a workout. I scanned stacks of bank statements (30-35 pages at a time) (8.5 x 11) and mortgage documents (8.5 x 14) both single sided and double sided. Several times the ADF jammed (roller slipped and eventually gave up) and I had to man handle the stuck page out, I could find no way to release its grasp of the paper. These were not glossy pages, just typical bank statements. Other times one or two pages of a stack of 35 would scan in only a third of the page. It cannot scan duplex pages longer then 12 inches, I don''t know why. Duplex scanning takes more then twice as long as simplex because it has only a single scanner and must flip the page (I think it does this flipping twice). The software wasn''t smart enough to handle scanning mix length pages, if I had a document (for example: mortgage papers) with a mix of letter and legal size pages I had to tell the software that all the pages were 14 inches long otherwise it truncated the legal size to 11 inches. It all boils down to a lack of trust for me. Before I go shredding originals of these documents I need to be able to trust that I have good electronic copies and this scanner/software didn''t establish that trust.

Buy HP ScanJet 5590 Digital FlatBed Scanner Now

Sorry for the juvenile review title, but there''s really no other way to put into words the frustration that I have experienced from trying to work with this stupid thing.

The interface is cumbersome and largely unnecessary. I bought it because, at the time, it was just about the only reasonably-priced multi document feeding scanner I could find. I don''t need this multi document feed for office work, like most people; I need it for animation. If you''re at all familiar with the process of animation, it requires that MANY MANY MANY pictures be used, and I was looking forward to cutting down on my work time by having the scanner do most of my paper loading for me. Oh, foolish little me!

Not only does the paper jam 60% of the time, but the scanner always wants to scan it into the stupid software that came bundled with the scanner. So even if I''m trying to scan an image directly into Adobe Photoshop, I first have to go through the "HP Gallery" or whatever, copy the picture, and bring it in that way. I set it so that it automatically scans into Photoshop, but when I turn off my computer, it forgets its new instructions and goes back to uploading everything in the HP Gallery. It eats up time, desktop space, and PATIENCE.

Oh yes, and the TWAIN drivers that it supposedly comes with won''t work on my Macintosh. Sure, it specifies that NOW, but back then when I was doing tireless research on the product, it didn''t tell me that you can only get the drivers on a PC, so I basically wasted $500.00 on a piece of machinery that isn''t compatible with my platform, my animation program, nor my sanity.

HP wasn''t much help; they advised me to download some free software from their site that would install the TWAIN drivers that I''d need to work with my animation program, even though the software was originally for a digital camera and not a scanner. "It should still work, even though it''s not technically for that hardware," says the guy. Well, no, quite frankly. It does not, in fact, work. All that it does now is confuse my scanner for a digital camera and refuse to upload anything into Photoshop or any other program for some bizarre reason. In uploading the digital camera software, by the way, it completely wiped the existence of the scanning software that I already had on my computer so that I had to manually upload it again.

I can''t wait to sell this thing and get at least a portion of my money back. This thing is such a headache, please don''t waste your time with it.

Had to chime in on this one. We got the scanner about four months ago to replace a discount-bin flatbed Canon. It''s true that the thing occasionally locks up on me and requires a cord-pull. (Anybody else miss ''off'' switches?) The ADF also spazzes on some pages no rhyme or reason to it, just about 00.5% of the docs I scan it can''t grip or something.

The good news is that for what I do (making PDFs from official letters for business records)it works great. The front panel buttons can be set up to output to a PDF without any additional input or software interference I just tap in how many pages, press the ''scan document'' button I''ve got tweaked, and it doesn''t bother me until it needs a save name for the PDF.

I do a mix of Letter and Legal, which could be a headache the scanner can''t do duplex Legal, or Letter and Legal in the same job. However, the workaround is easy. After each scan job it asks if I need to scan more pages into the document. I scan the first set, then click more and scan the next. The ADF recognises which type it''s dealing with, so there''s no reconfiguring going between stacks of Letter and stacks of Legal.

Would I recommend this scanner? Not for everybody. It''s not optimised ''out-of-the-box'', and it''s twitchy enough that you kind of have to know your way around to keep it running. I''m a pretty competent tech, and I like it just fine, but I don''t know if Grandma is going to put up with its'' shenanigans. This would be less of an issue if the HP tech support were helpful, but I haven''t been able to get a straight answer out of them regarding my issues, and I speak the lingo.

This is a great scanner, but it is not User Friendly.

Want HP ScanJet 5590 Digital FlatBed Scanner Discount?

REVISED 11/12. We have retired this scanner. Physically, it still works but the HP software (Windows Vista) is a nightmare. The interface frequently hangs; there have been firewall issues; we have found it necessary to uninstall and reinstall the entire software package more than once. If you absolutely need an automatic or double sided scanner, then this may be one of the few ways to go. If a one page at a time scanner is satisfactory, then there are clearly better alternatives.

Rating should probably be revised down to 2* because of the poor software.

Not recommended.

---

Windows XP. SP2. Single Gateway Profile computer. MS Office. Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional. USB Connected.

Mostly used for scanning documents directly into *.PDF files WITHOUT using the OCR feature.

We bought this scanner a few months ago to replace a 7 year old HP Scanner, also with a document feeder.

The HP Scanjet 5590 is not something you can expect to work right out of the box; it isn''t as plug-and-play as we would have liked.

The included software is extensive and takes a long time to load (and to repair!). It may also require some tweaks to work at all, one of which we got from HP on the telephone and another (to improve scans into PDF) we found on their web site.

Once working, the software is still not "intuitive". There are many complexities to scanning and the HP software has a significant learning curve.

The scanner warms up quickly; the document feeder is fast and reasonably reliable but can jam if it doesn''t like the paper fed through it.

The double sided scan works but again, the paper must be be good quality.

We have had no difficulty scanning a dozen or more pages either through the document feeder or indivual scan into a single PDF file. We have also scanned single photos into *.jpg with good results. We have not scanned slides or negatives.

We only use the software controls and can''t comment on the button features.

We have not yet had to partially disassemble and manually clean the document feeder and have no comment on this feature either.

In summery: If you have some computer experience, especially with scanning and you have time to sort out the glitches, you can probably make the 5590 work for you and get good results. If you are a relative novice, this may not be the right place to start.

Add: 09/08. We purchased a new computer running on VISTA (former had XP) and attached the scanner. A software download was required. The unit installed easily and worked faster and with fewer glitches than previously.

UPDATE early 2010. We began to have software issues when the computer kept saying that certain files were unavavilable.

The solution (per HP) is to download the proper software, move it to a SEPARTATE FOLDER, click to open and EXPAND the files and then do the installation.

I use this scanner at work, even though I''ve tried to convince them not to order these. This scanner and the HP 550 below it are horrible. The software that comes with it takes up a ton of memory usage and is just generally bad. The OCR reader software and scanner are really poor and it is almost easier to just re-type documents yourself. Another issues is that the scanner is constantly being removed from the scanner list in Windows. We use about 6 of these scanners at work, and as the IT guy, I constantly have people calling me and telling me that Windows says they have no scanner installed. I have to "reinstall" them by removing the USb cable and plugging it back in so Windows will recognize it. Additionally, the document feeder james and sucks up multiple pages constantly.

The biggest problem however is that this scanner DOES NOT WORK with Adobe Acrobat. The software is incompatible. You can scan 15 pages of a document, but the software will only return the first page to Acrobat. You cannot do multiple page scans with Acrobat unless you do each page separately. If you visit the HP help forum you''ll see this is a common problem with several of their scanners, and has been for over two years yet it still hasn''t been fixed. The only way around this problem is to install a third party driver.

I would stay away from this unless you can find it really cheaply.
