Royal Alpha 850ML Cash Register with Bar Code Scanner

Royal Alpha 850ML Cash Register with Bar Code Scanner
  • Can handle 200 departments and 2,000 PLUs ( price lookups )
  • Multi-line, alphanumeric LCD clerk display with backlight - 1-line rear customer display
  • 4-bill / 5-coin tray locking cash drawer with removable coin tray
  • Can display 5 lines x 20 characters
  • 40 clerk IDs

The other model was suppose to be the same working functions as the 810ML, which I believe it is minus the handy drawer that went with the 810ML model. the model I received was sent without any notice of doing so therefore there was extra correspondence between the company and myself to guarantee the new model was going to work exactly the same as well as some comparison pricing on my behalf to make sure I wasn''t paying more than I was suppose to. I found a $21 discrepancy which I had to point out but, they did refund immediately.

Next time, I think the company should contact the purchaser about substituting a model before it is being shipped to the purchaser to receive confirmation that it is o.k. to do so or at least give the purchaser the opportunity to wait until the model ordered has come into their business.

HP Q8842A Color Laser Glossy Photo Paper, 4 x 6 Inches, 100 Sheets
  • Color Laser Glossy Photo Paper
  • 4 x 6 in Paper that Meets Postal Service Requirements
  • Get Durable Photos with Print Shop Quality
  • Resist Smudging
  • Prints Will Dry Instantly and Resist Smearing and Scratches

The print quality on this is just the same as you''ll get with the HP Photo Paper or the HP Glossy Brochure paper. I wish it were a little thicker, but it''s close to the typical thickness you''d get from having photos printed at a professional place.

Depending on your printer, you may have to set up a custom print size as not all HP printers have 4x6 as a default option. I found that using the "ICM Printer" option in color management turned out better for me than the ICM Printer Calibration, ICM Host System or ICM disabled (ICM is an option in the HP printer driver). I use a laserjet 2550N.

I never have had any jamming issues or anything with this paper. I always use the manual feed tray.

While HP has matte, satin and glossy, once the toner is applied to the paper, the toner itself is pretty darn matte so for me, it really doesn''t matter what surface the paper has as long as it''s not like inkjet.

Not quite the brilliance and definition from the InkJet photo printer, but perfectly fine for most uses. Appreciate the speed and the fact that the "ink" is dry when it comes out of the laser printer.

This works with my color laser printer, but the quality really isn''t as good as my color ink jet printers. I guess there''s no getting around having to pay for the horrible ink costs of an ink jet when it comes to printing photos.

These toners are easy to install. One thing though, after the first warning of these toners being low I take them out and check the little round window to see if there is still toner. If there is, I wind back the gear with a peg on it back to its original position. I recently did this with all three colors as it was reported they were going low. After winding back the gears, the printer performed perfectly for another month with a moderate amount of color printing. Finally, the low toner warnings went off again and since there appeared no more toner, I installed new ones. I have a closet full of these consumables and look forward to many great years printing with these printers. (We have 6 of them)

This is the OEM High Yield toner for some Brother printers. Do not buy refurbished or re-filled toners from other sources. Don''t be tempted to save a few dollars with these inferior toners. Print quality and toner life are not the same, not to mention possible printer damage. Don''t be too quick to replace your OEM toners when the printer tells you to. These toners use a timing wheel that count down based on the number of pages printed, not the amount of toner left in the cartridge. There are many articles on the web on how to reset the cartridges. Do a google search on Brother Toner Reset to find an article for your printer.

I bought this cartridge to replace the exact same item purchased just 6 months and 3400+ copies ago (both from Amazon), because that exact same item decided to leak all over the inside of my printer, and was on all the rollers of all the other colors. All my pages had magenta dots and big splotches along the right margin. I see other reviewers with the same problem with this magenta cartridge. I''ve purchased all the colors from Amazon more than once with no problems, and they seem to be genuine Brother cartridges, so I''m not sure what the problem is with this magenta cartridge. New one seems to be working fine one week later, but I guess we''ll see with time.

**Update** one month after using the new magenta cartridge it too IS LEAKING ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF MY PRINTER. No recourse with Amazon as the return window has just passed customer service could not guarantee a full refund. What a rip off. Order these from another vendor.

The yield claimed by brother is contrary to my experience with my printer.

I''m getting a bit less than half the life claimed per toner cartridge by Brother.

Before you buy a brother printer, calculate the ink cost. My estimate is about 20 cents per page to use this printer just for ink when doing color, about 6 cents when doing black and white.

The cartridge appeared to be OK at first. But after a couple of month''s use, the cartridge begin to make tiny rain drop type of stains on the print. So I took the tray out and then each cartridge. As soon as I took this one out, the toner powder spilled everywhere. All other cartridges are genuine Brother. I did not even know where the source of leak was. It is not the first time I got bitten by a "compatible" toner. But I thought merchants on Amazon are more honest. I was wrong. The merchant is "toner 100".

Amazon should also be blamed for part of the problem. They put all the knockouts (so-called OEM) and genuine toners under the same item and call it "compatible". So some may be lucky and get genuine replacement parts and others get cheap knockouts and in the end it just confuses customers.

HP® Officejet 6000 Inkjet Printer with Wireless Networking/Auto Duplexing

HP® Officejet 6000 Inkjet Printer with Wireless Networking/Auto Duplexing
  • Manufactured by: HP®

First the bads, it''s loud when it starts, and takes a while between starting the printer and actually getting to print something, and ink isn''t cheap, but it''s really not a bad printer. The quality of photos is fantastic, and the setup was easy, just read the instruction book if you''re lost, and you''ll be able to set up your printer wirelessly. When I did, my Mac picked it up and installed drivers for me so I can just print.

I don''t know why people are having such a bad time with the printer, it can print from both sides (with the duplex addon, which I have), and it can print wirelessly so you never have to worry about finding a cable aftwwords.

It''d be better if the printer wasn''t so loud, but I''ll forgive that, along with the ink thing

Mostly I like this printer--and I loved being able to print wirelessly so I didn''t have to have that cord laying across my desk. But half the time (or more) my computer says it''s offline and nothing happens. I turn it off and on and sometimes that fixes it, at least after several tries. Yet at other times it prints effortlessly. Maybe there''s a setting that needs to be changed with the printer, laptop, or router but the deceptively named HP Diagnostics software says everything is fine even when the printer isn''t printing. So now I''ve given up on the wireless printing and have the cord stretched across my desk again. So much for wireless printing. . .

This printer is absolutely miserable to install. During the installation, it gives you the ability to have it work both via USB as well as wireless. This option has never worked. Often times (think about that statement meaning I have had to install it more then once) during installation, the process gets to 94% or 96% and then stops responding.

It is too late to return and get my money back but I will be looking for a non-HP printer. Have four HP/Compaq computers in the house but this will be my last HP printer.

I have a love/hate relationship with this printer, and if I had it to do all over again, I don''t think I''d buy it. The prints are amazing. Even in the lower quality settings, it really prints beautifully. But it flies through ink. I have owned it since November and I have replaced some cartridges several times (but some of them I haven''t replaced at all. Go figure.)The ink is very pricey. It also jams very easily, regardless of the type of paper used. The door to clear the jam is way at the back, and has to be completely removed to access it (it''s not on a hinge). The reason I bring this up is that if you have your printer in a hutch type of shelf, like I do, it can be really difficult to access the back to clear these jams 3 times a week, and especially difficult to close it back up again. I have a few other pet peeves, like the messages that pop up on every single computer on the network all the time, but those are minor compared to the ink and paper jam issues.

I just printed my first print from my HP 7260 printer-not many things actually make me go "WOW" but this print did! I printed a 4 X 6 of a photo from a 7 mp camera. The color, contrast, and sharpness were outstanding. It could not have been better.

This reminds me of the prints I used to get decades ago from 35mm that were processed by a professional lab (I used to do wedding photography so my standards are high).

What sold me on this printer was trying it out at a local Staples store; I brought in some paper and my memory card from my camera, and just tried the 7260 that was on display. Without any fiddling of settings or any prelims, it printed out a stunning, perfect 8x10.

Setting it up was easy. If you want perfect prints, GET THIS PRINTER!

Don''t waste your money on this printer. It eats ink very quickly. As soon as one of the cartridges runs out of ink (which seems to happen entirely too often) it won''t print anything, even in black ink. This has happened to me too many times... I''m planning to throw it out and get something else. I have never been happy with the quality of pictures is prints either. The first sheet out always has colors that are way off, the second sheet looks better... but who wants to waste all of that ink? Buy something else.

Want HP Photosmart D7260 Inkjet Photo Printer Discount?

I''ll be honest -when I brought this home and got ready to install it on our home network, I was fully prepared for an afternoon full of tweaking firewall settings, going through weird and archaic menu on my router, maybe sacrificing a chicken to the ethernet gods, and so on. So you can imagine my surprise when everything actually worked. Like, on the first time. Everything went so smoothly, that I actually figured I must have done something wrong. But no, pretty soon my wife and I were both printing to the same printer without having to swap out USB cables or anything. It was a delight.

I will say that I took other people''s advice and avoided like the plague the "Installation CD full of crappy software nobody really wants" that came with the product and just downloaded the basic drivers from HP''s website. So maybe that had something to do with it.

As for the printer itself, I''ve got no problems with it so far. Granted, I''m not a photo-printing fiend, I''m more of an occasional "print out Google maps so I don''t get lost" kind of guy, so maybe more picky people have their own quibbles with print quality, but it''s been a great addition so far.

After suffering through years with an old Epson Stylus 1200, with the ink cartridges constantly clogging and the paper feeder unable to reliably print five pages without jamming a wad of them through at once, I resolved I would never buy an Epson again. I bought this printer last week, and I should have done it years earlier: it feeds paper reliably, doesn''t seem to eat ink (I have already printed a 55-page matte document with a lot of full-bleed photos), and is quite speedy. Setup in Linux is a big plus HPLIP software is installed standard under Ubuntu. This printer is a real charmer, and when you consider that a full set of ink these days will run you $50, the price is CHEAP!

HP C8242A Compact Carrying Case for Deskjet 450 Series Printer

HP C8242A Compact Carrying Case for Deskjet 450 Series Printer
  • CASE FOR DJ 450 MOBILE PR

I read the review about the size of the case after my order was placed and I was prepared to be disappointed. I found, however, if I pushed the printer into the top of the space and installed the velcro attached pad along the bottom of the printer, there was still plenty of room for all the power cords etc to lie at the bottom of the case (in the handy pouch that came with it). If you try to put the printer at the bottom, which would make more sense, you''re out of luck. The fact that the fit is counter-intuitive and there are no instructions cost this nice sturdy case one star.

This is an addition to the above review. If I could figure out how to give the fifth star back, I would. The lady that I gave this case to had her luggage left out (by Delta) in a hard rain for about 2 hours. Everything was soaked including this case, but the printer was dry and protected. This is great protection for the price!

What good is a portable printer if you can''t tote it around conveniently? This HP C8242A Compact Case allows me to carry the printer, cables, and even a bit of paper along with me wherever I go.

The good: There''s ample room to carry the printer and all the accessories I need. They also reserve half of the case to carry your notebook.

The bad: I have a 15.4" notebook which doesn''t fit in the case so that side of the case is empty (which causes it to flop over unless it''s leaned up against a wall). I elected to put a 1/4 ream of paper into that side to even out the weight.

All in all it was a worthy investment and I''m happy with the purchase.

I purchased this for my Deskjet 460C so I would be able to transport my printer and have it padded and protected-no way would it fit with the padding in place. Why bother with a case when a backpack will offer just as much protection for the printer. Maybe it shouldn''t be recommended for this particular printer.

Want HP C8242A Compact Carrying Case for Deskjet 450 Series Printer Discount?

If you have HP''s DJ450 mobile printer, this case is terrific. It''s compact and offers very good protection in a contemporary design.

The newer and slightly larger HP DJ460 printer has a different curve that makes the case too snug in width.

One of the other reviewers noted padding could be removed from the case to allow space for the larger printer, but please consider that does decrease protection for the printer.

I bought for my boss to better mobilize him while traveling. It was sent out quickly, and the quality of the product is top notch!

Epson Stylus Photo R300M Inkjet Printer

Epson Stylus Photo R300M Inkjet Printer
  • Up to 5,760 x 1,440 optimized dpi resolution
  • Slots for digital-camera memory cards
  • Built-in 2.5-inch preview LCD
  • Accepts inkjet-printable CDs and DVDs
  • 2 USB ports; supports DirectPrint and PictBridge cameras

Of course, all Epson stylus photo''s produce great picture quality, are solidly built and have thoughtful easy setup directions. I''ve owned several Epson''s and each generation just gets more amazing both in easy of use and quality.

It''s a 6-ink inkjet and it''s an Epson stylus photo so I don''t really need to go on about the print quality but the R300M has some great and outstanding additional features.

#1

This printer prints with the Mac/PC on or off. You can use a USB cable to plug in your digital camera or better yet, drop in your camera''s memory card in one of the front slots and view using the COLOR LCD screen! And if you activate the feature, the memory card mounts on the desktop (well at least on a Mac) so you can save from having to buy a memory card reader also!

It reads CompactFlash, Microdrive, Memory Stick, SD, MMC, SmartMedia or xD so unless you own some weird Albanian format you are set to go.

Just plug in your memory card use the simple navigation (two minutes to learn and very clear) to set the size you want to print and what kind of paper you are using. Then just arrow up & down to view thumbnails (with a preview window of your photograph) once you select the photograph, it fills the 2" COLOR screen so you know exactly what you are getting. Then hit PRINT and there it is. If you have a nice digital camera and your photographs are at the highest resolution you get a print that indistinguishable from store processed.

It prints BORDERLESS 8.5" by 11" great quality and makes your special photographs look like art.

#2

It prints on CD-R and DVD-R''s. While you can certainly use Epson discs (probably a bit steeper), I did not have a lot of different types of printable media around (you get a Memorex branded freebie with the printer) but they all look fine. It depends on your needs some look a little darker than others so you''ll have to experiment a little but an incredibly easy to use feature. You simply insert a special tray launch the Epson CD software paste and/or type and select print. Since Epson included a Memorex CD, it''s pretty obvious you can use any brand as you might know, your choices on the CD/DVD printables are with a white background or on silver so depending on your artwork some might look better on white others on silver. DO NOT print on non-printable CD/DVD-R''s the ink will smear! (no, I did not have to try it to know that :-)

#3

Setup is amazingly easy and you get a nice assortment of software.

#4

I know some printers have special chips in the print cartridges that do not allow you to use 3rd party color cartridges not the case with Epson I''ve already seen 3rd party cartridges for the R300M so if you decide not to buy the Epson ink, you have other choices.

#5

Epson has a great selection of professional paper including some that will supposedly not yellow in 25 or 100 years (you choose) so you get a lot of professional options along the way.

The ONLY ONLY tiny downside is you do not get a USB cable so you will need a "B" to "A" cable I had an extra one but if you don''t, they''re about $6 and up.

Other than that tiny thing it''s perfect if you want high-end print results from a $250 printer if you want 4x6 to 8.5x11 borderless printing along with a COLOR preview window for printing with or without the computer being on and if you want easy CD/DVD-R printing and it''s well designed and with great step by step setup instructions this is one great printer!

Buy Epson Stylus Photo R300M Inkjet Printer Now

This is my first photo/DVD printer and will probably be the only one I will be using for a good while. The photos I''ve printed out so far, inluding several 8x10 enlargements, are outstanding and undistinguishable from lab prints. In fact, I think they''re a lot better since I can edit them and adjust them on the PC. Printing from a PICTBridge-enabled camera isn''t too shabby either, but I prefer to edit my photos first. Same thing with printing from memory cards; this is a handy feature, though since I can use the printer as a cardreader.

Two little gripes the supplied color LCD screen resolution is rather low and the B&W LCD does not illuminate, which may be a problem, as in my case, since I keep the printer in a dark corner of the desk. If you largely print photos from PC, you may want to buy the R300 instead, which doesn''t have the color LCD and is 40 to 50 USD cheaper, depending on where you order it.

I was actually debating whether to purchase the Epson R300m or the Canon Pixma IP600D or the HP 7960. The photo quality in the stores was almost the same. What tipped the scales in favor of Epson was the ability to print onto inkjet printable DVDs and the relatively cheaper ink cartridges. I guess now I''ll never know the real difference but as long as the Epson does what it''s supposed to do, and does it extremely well, who cares?

UPDATE: This little gem is still going strong. No paper jams or streaks as long as you maintain the printheads properly. Photo printing is still topnotch. Text printing will never equal the crispness of a laser printer but that''s not the reason I got it. I love printing my own DVDs. As for cartridges, several online stores carry cheaper versions that work just as well as originals, sometimes for 40% less.

I purchased the R300M, installed it and spent an entire day trying to figure out why I could not get it to work. Turns out, mine had a defective memory card reader. When I called Epson support they were outstanding at taking care of the problem. I had my new printer within 2 days.

The new one works like a charm. I will say that when you turn the printer on and off its slow and initially I thought something was wrong but customer service assured me this is normal.

I am also glad I anted up the extra bucks so I could view the photo through a view finder at the top of the printer this feature is worth the $.

My first few photos did not come out to well. I did a printer head alignment and that took care of the problem. Also be sure to click on the correct type of paper you are using ..ie if you are using glossy or regular you click the box in the properties section when you select paper size etc. otherwise you will not get the best results.

After playing with it awhile I printed some photographs and they were stunning! Though the initial cost may seem high, its frustrating to get prints from the store that are of poor quality due to lighting, camera angle etc. You will be able to control your results here and enjoy your photos right away when you print them.

Another nice feature is you can print directly on a CD. My daughter is a singer so we purchased this printer to have that feature available. Though we have not used it yet, I have heard that results are very good.

With the quality photos I am getting and the great customer service I received this Epson Inkjet gets high marks.

Want Epson Stylus Photo R300M Inkjet Printer Discount?

Not much to fault here, unless you have dreaded driver problems of some kind. Used with a Nikon 8800 (8MP) and Pentax Optio S5I (5MP), this printer delivers stunning 4x6 or full page borderless prints. Forget the silly little picturemate. This is the printer to buy!

HOWEVER, I used a second printer for text stuff because the 300 is pretty slow overall. The LCD monitor is of limited use since most of us will edit pics on a PC anyway. Ink cartidges seem to last a long time and you can replace them one at a time which makes sense.

My client Tim, the "dental guy" was in the process of marketing a dental plan in the Las Vegas area, when he advised me that he wanted to print CD cards to pass out to his clients. I purchased this Epson printer, but wasn''t really sure if it could produce the professional quality he desired.

I converted his logo to a vector graphic, so it could be printed on a variety of marketing items, cups, and t-shirts. At first, I was reluctant to put the actual CD into the printer. My non-trusting techie self, wondered how it was going to come back out, since the CDs had already been burned.

I cautiously put in the CD in the tray, and went to the design program, bundled with this printer. I taught my client, how to set up the design, and WOW! The actual CD went inside the printer, and out came a professional labeled CD, in full color.

Although the speed was slower than I would have liked, and you must purchase the Epson media CD or DVD, you can retire those sticky labels that jam in other printers. If you want to send out CD media to your clients, with your logo, in full color, and do it cheaply, this is the printer to buy!

Even though, I happen to be an HP printer fan, Epson has my admiration on this printer.
