I ordered one cartridge, the quality was very poor. I posted a review here, within 24 hours the company contacted me, apologized and shipped free replacements which work perfectly. It was really the best most thorough customer service I''ve seen in a long time. I''m satisfied and would buy from them again.

This product sounds like a great deal, but I was very disappointed in its quality. It does not work well with the printer and has caused several malfunctions. I''m switching back to the original HP cartridges despite their steep price tag--at least I know they work.

The product details very clearly list this as remanufactured/compatible, so it was my fault I ordered these, but with "genuine" and "brand name" in the title and the original packaging for the picture, you can see how I might have been confused. Hopefully, they work better than the last remanufactured ones I bought.

I was very disappointed when I received my ink cartridge since it was defective. I wanted to return it but it would cost me nearly as much to ship it back as it cost=$ 8.88. I decided to contact a cusotmer service rep and they were able to ok a refund once I complained. But if I hadnt complained and contacted a service rep, which 90% of people would not have done, then I would have just had to accept it and be out $ 8.88. I dont like their refund policy which states if you have a defective cartridge then you have to pay for shipping which is ridiculous when they are the ones responsible. The company knows that if you have to pay the shipping cost that will eliminate 90% of the complaints and return costs that they would have to pay. I will never use this cartridge replacement company again despite them refunding my money.

The product works perfectly with my HP printer. I carefully noted my printer''s model number and the model of the cartridge I had previously to make sure it would work. I double checked that with Amazon''s tool to be absolutely sure this was the right cartridge. The cartridge is the exact size and shape of my current HP 56 cartridge, but of course has a different label. It is in every way indistinguishable from the original other than the label. This is a great product for the price. I just started using it. Not sure how long it will last, but since it only costs 1/5 as much as a new HP cartridge, if it only lasts 1/5 as long as the last one I will still be satisfied.

If any graphic design artists need to print in CMYK and wide format, this is probably the best printer you can get in terms of cost and quality. The 88 ink is super cheap and it pumps out a LOT of pages. If you plan on doing a lot of printing but don''t wanna pay as much as a laser jet printer, you should use a printer that uses the 88 ink. For 20.99 this cartridge can give you 1200 pages. What other cartridge on the market can do that for so cheap??? What''s even better is how 34 bucks you can get the XL and the XL can do 2400 pages. Again, what cartridge do you know of can give you 2400 pages for 34 bucks? It''s a great printer at a great price when you can find it on sale.

I gave this a low rating, not because it is a poor printer, but because it can''t do everything I expected it to from it''s description and specifications without a lot of messing around. And maybe not even then. Not as near as good as the older HP 1220 that it is to replace.

I use it to print model aircraft plans and the included instruction booklets. I develop the plans in both raster graphic and CAD programs. Some pages are up to 24 inches long. The vast majority fit on 11 by 17 inch paper.

This printer is great for printing the photos and instructions I include, and was hoping I could do everything with this one that I could do with my old 1220.

However, under some conditions, this printer seems to want to ignore the margins assigned to the printout, and create either wider or narrower ones on its own. After three weeks of daily printing with this printer, I have yet to figure out how to get around this.

The margins are important for these plans, as the drawings MUST be reproduced full size, with no enlarging or shrinking of the images so that the parts constructed from them fit together.

I have noticed that it will print full size, IF a paper is used that is significantly larger than the drawing. For example, a 10 by 16 inch drawing will be enlarged somewhat (about 1/16 of an inch)if I try to print it on 11 by 17 inch paper, but prints exactly right by just changing to 13 by 19 inch paper. The problem is that the 13 by 19 inch paper is much more expensive, and I have to trim off a lot of it to fit the folders. It also doesn''t look very professional to have wide, blank margins.

One more example is when printing a drawing that used to fit on legal paper (8.5 by 14) I now have to print on 11 by 17 for it to print full size without being enlarged! Adjusting the margins on HPs printer setup, and/or the programs'' print setup, does not help, but usually makes it worse. Selecting the "Print At Actual Size" option does not help.

Also, in booklet mode, it wants to print much smaller than the 1220 printer did and the word processor defines. The old 1220 would print the actual size as defined in the Wordperfect program. But the K8600 increases the margins and shrinks the print about 20% making some of the print almost unreadable. It does format the pages correctly though.

However, in duplex mode, or single page print of the same text, it prints normally on the same paper! It''s just when trying to print text in booklet mode that it shrinks the page. Or when trying to print full size drawings as I used to with the 1220.

Unlike the 1220 (which could print up to an unadvertised 50 inches long) the K8600 won''t print anything longer than 19 inches. So, for a few of my drawings, I will still have to use the 1220 until I redraw them to fit on 19 inch paper, if I can. And use the 1220 to print the booklets until (or if) I ever figure out how to prevent the shrinking of images despite the settings.

So, for the time being, I am still using the 1220 for many drawings and the booklets.

But, the duplexer is great! No more turning the paper over to complete the booklet print or print on both sides of a sheet...it does it automatically! I can just walk away and come back when it is completely finished.

In favor of the K8600, the ink cartridges are MUCH cheaper, and with 4 of them , I don''t have to toss out an entire cartridge when just one color is out, as I did with the 1220. The print is super fast, and very high quality, even in draft mode...and the photos and drawings are superb...when they are the correct size.

I have had a HP Deskjet 1220c for about 4 years and never had a problem, except for having to clean the platinum and guides a few months ago.. very reliable, fast, and excellent, photo quality prints with permanent Vivera inks. The only problem with it was it used a lot of expensive ink because of the single, 3 color cartridge plus singe black. The Office Jet K8600 has separate Vivera cyan, yellow and magenta cartridges plus a black cartridge and they are available in the very large 88-"XL" size (up to 1700 color pages for about $25 and 2400 black pages for about $35). You only replace the cartridge color that runs out first and they are cheaper because the replaceable print heads are separate as well (they should last a life time using HP inks). The 8600 is compact, quiet, fast, and I''ve had no jams so far using a variety of paper types. It will print on heavy 76 pound paper in the front tray or rear slot. Comparing it to my old 1220, here are the things I don''t like, in order of dislike: There is no separate single sheet front slot, so if you want to print a few 11x17 tabloid drawings and the input tray is loaded with letter paper, you have to remove the letter paper, put the tabloid paper in the tray and adjust the guides, then reload the letter paper when you are through. The design of the out put tray clicks into a angled up position with a bit of force, but is still a bit in the way of loading paper easily in the input tray below it, but you soon get used to it and it becomes easier. The specs say would suggest that manual duplex is possible, but it isn''t in the printer software like on the Deskjet series, so doing duplex is complicated and error prone unless your external software includes the ability. I ended up getting the optional duplex unit and it''s well worth it, so I would suggest getting the K8600dn with includes it for not too much more. This unit doesn''t have PhotoRet like the 1220 and Photojet printers do, so color matching to your screen is not quite as good, you may have to experiment a bit with the printers color adjustments to get the desired results on different papers and then saving it into one of their user savable presets. Once you do that, the color photo prints on HP photo paper are excellent.. they look like commercial prints and are as good as my Deskjet could do. I had some initial tech questions/problems and I had very good service. After a bit of wasted time talking to their techs in India, I was called by their USA follow up and they worked my problem out. All in all an excellent printer with low ink costs and fast printing. I print all text on draft setting, HP Bright White paper and they only take a few seconds each and look almost as good as the regular setting. For graphics, the normal setting is excellent and very fast. Even photo prints at normal on HP glossy brochure paper are very fast and near photo quality.

The last printer I purchased for this one was an HP Deskjet 6980. I decided not to buy HP again, after numerous network connection issues. But this time I was in the market for a cheaper larger paper size printer. There is not much out there, so I ended up buying this K9600 Office Jet Pro. I only intended to use it sporadically.

It started off with the inability to print any other color than magenta. After spending hours with customer support and buying new ink cartridges even though the ones that came with it indicated full, "Well Sir, the cartridges come with very little ink and it is probably all used during set-up", finally it was concluded that one of the print heads must be bad. I received a new printhead a week later, and indeed the issue I had was resolved. Using it over the first weeks after however was a stackup of annoyances. But now, when printing paper that is a little bit thicker than normal paper (such as HP photo paper, not even the thickest kind), the image gets either smudged at the bottom of the paper or the whole image prints half an inch closer to the top that it is supposed to. a day later it keeps telling me that it ran out of paper. Tried all sort of paper and adjustments, turned off the paper width sensor. I cannot believe how much time I wasted just trying to print something.. If my office windows could open, it would have landed on the parking lot below it...

I have had very poor success with HP products on my Mac Tiger operating system and should have known better than to order the new K8600 wide format printer. It connected okay and said the software loaded okay. The printer performed test functions as it should but that is were things went bad. When trying to print from the computer it would signal that there was no paper. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it and it printed a page from the computer beautifully. Next time I tried I had the no paper signal again. Once again I tried reloading the software. This proceeded to trash my ability to download anything. I finally had to erase my hard drive and rebuild my computer operating system to get my computer back on line. This was on a Mac-mini 1.42 GHz with 1 GB of memory and plenty of hard drive and memory space. I tried the printer on my iBook to be sure it wasn''t my computer and got the same no paper signal. I quit right there before I trashed my iBook. I suspect an HP software problem. I have returned the K8600 through Amazon''s excellent no hassle return policy and am waiting the arrival of an Epson Stylus 1400 wide format, also from Amazon. The Epson products seem to be very compatible with Mac''s OS 10 system.

Also of note is that all HP Customer Service has been sent overseas to India, Thailand, or who knows where. The tech people actually speak English fairly well but do not understand it that well. If your problem is anything outside of routine it is very likely that you will get transferred from department to department and end up having your time wasted and no resolution to your problem. HP now has a red circle around it with a line through it as far as I am concerned.

I needed to replace my ancient HP 970CSE printer which was marginal for years, esp. on any picture printing.

Went to Best Buy, and walked out with this for $99 it seemed to have enough capability for my occasional use requirements, without being too big and bulky...I did not need a document feeder or fax, for example...but the ability to fool around with photos seemed like fun. 4 years of warranty was an additional $40.

I was initially put off by the "Photosmart" title, as opposed to the utilitarian-sounding "Deskjet" I was replacing. In fact, I was considering a Deskjet 3520 with its monochrome display, but the store guy [it took me talking to two people to get enough information] convinced me that this was a better unit. It used the #564 cartridges, which were a lot more economical, at $10/ea. than the #78 cartridge for the old 970. OK, there were now 4 ink cartridges, but I don''t see using that much colored ink, just mainly black.

Brought the printer home, hooked it up, and it ran flawlessly! Did 120 sheets of black [mostly]/red/blue printing, and the ink status gauges barely moved. This printer just spits out the sheets in draft mode...really fast!

Tried a photo from the internet on plain paper, and it was great. Using the 4 x 6 sample pack of photo paper that came with the printer, I printed a photo from the hard disc of the PC that was outstanding. The camera mamory slot on the printer will not take my XD memory card, but I can load them into the PC, as I have been doing. This stuff would use up the colored inks, I know, if I make a habit of it.

The printer will give a status report if asked, and even print out a sudoku puzzle, or calendar, or even notepaper/ graphpaper. The copying feature is new to me, and will prove useful...it will even do a decent job duplicating old photos, either on plain paper, or photo paper. Not bad for no "photo black" capability.

All in all, it fits my needs perfectly, and works very well.

In all fairness I did not purchase this item through Amazon, but directly from HP. The unit I received did not print anything correctly... all documents were reproduced somewhat askew and I am not sure if it was due to the paper not feeding properly or due to some other issue. However, the same misalignment problems occurred with all types of paper used. The unit was replaced by HP and unfortunately the second unit made a God-awful scraping noise upon setup which resulted in the cartridges jamming which in turn caused the unit to be inoperable. A third unit was subsequently dispatched and that machine reacted exactly like the first device. I then requested and received a refund from HP. So... as the saying goes... three strikes and you''re out!

I hope this review serves as a forewarning to any prospective buyers... I certainly wasted quite a bit of time trying to resolve the various issues that I had with this contraption. So you have been duly warned. Caveat emptor as the saying goes!

This is not a quality printer. The wireless feature is great but like all other reviews, this has a terrible problem with paper jams and not loading paper. I have only owned about a month and now have tried to search three days for a solution of this only loading paper half way, acting as if it is printing and then giving you a paper jam message. Bought 8 dollar premium HP paper but didn''t work. Went through all the HP solutions to no avail. Finally flipped it over and got out the flash light. Well guess what, something did not look right:

Turn over the printer to view the bottom side

Remove the paper tray

Look to the left side and you will see a big black gear

You should see a white gear that turns it

MY WHITE GEAR HAD POPPED TO THE SIDE OF IT AND WAS NOT TURNING THE BLACK GEAR

It seemed to be spring loaded so I GENTLY pushed the white gear back to where it was operating the black gear.

Works perfect.

Hope this might help anyone else who cannot get this thing to load a piece of paper

Set up for the HP 5520 was very easy. Printed one page documents from my home network and iphones. Started to print a 17 page document and the printer jammed. I cleared the jam as directed from the website but the printer hasn''t worked since. The paper keeps jamming even though there are no obstructions.

Overall, I like this printer. It prints good quality and fast. It is setup easily. Now I can print from any device at home with the wireless printing. I can even print from my iPad.

From my experience, the only drawback of this printer is the paper loader. It gets jammed sometimes most likely when there is only one paper on the loader. So be careful with that. Try to put a few pages even you are only printing one paper.

I ordered a few cartridges and must have gotten a bad batchreally streaky to the point that I wasn''t sure the postage I paid for would be readable by the post office! I was upset and sent a message indicating my problem to the seller. I was particularly interested in not having to send back the streaky cartridges just in case our office needed to mail something (since I already filled up my meter) They were very good about sending my replacement cartridges and a few tips to see if the ink had just settled (didn''t work) but that is okthe replacements came very timely and work great! Very pleased with the serviceI have not ordered much through amazon but this was the best "bad" experience yet! Thank you!

This was the biggest mistake I''ve made in purchasing a printer. This piece of junk is jambed at least 3-4 times a week. Even when you find the jam the printer doesn''t recognize it. I have only had this thing since january and I am ready to toss it and buy a different brand. This was a costly mistake. Avoid this printer. This is the only time I have ever been unsatisfied with a product sold by Amazon.

Well I''ve used this printer for about 5 months. Paper jams, sloppy and discolored printing, poor wireless connection which must be constantly reset, power on, power off to restore printing. I bought this printer as I thought the printer ink would last longer that other printers (it does last longer, but only because most of the time I can''t get the printer to work correctly). Last straw is I am getting a "Print-head" error, see manual. Nothing fixes it (new print-head is ~$60, with specials I bought printer for about $50). Going to buy a good printer, throw this waste of money in the trash. Run don''t walk from Lexmark.

I bought this printer on clearance when my Canon unexpectedly died. I needed a printer right away, so I didn''t do my usual diligence in checking reviews. Big mistake!!! It''s print quality is very good. It''s everyday use is very poor. It doesn''t have any memory card slots for printing photos. It doesn''t have a dedicated envelope tray like the Canon. Printing envelopes is a complete study in frustration. The printer doesn''t accept the changes to and from the envelope settings without literally pulling the plug on it to reset it. All this after changing the envelopes in the paper tray and resetting the printer settings. It is the most user-unfriendly printer I have ever owned. No matter how often I change the printer default to Pro 710 series printer, it indicates Pro Series fax. I was very happy with my Canon until it died. I am not happy with Canon''s longevity or customer loyalty program. But their ease of use is worlds better than the Lexmark. I wouldn''t recommend this printer to anyone.

This unit replaced my Ricoh 3500 Color Laser. While the Lexmark has print advantages, its a slower machine print wise in:

Energy Save Mode To first print job it makes a low buzzing noise when it is warming up. I miss the instant spool up of the Ricoh.

Duplex Mode it feeds the paper out and then pulls it back in, a rather inefficient and slower duplexing system and to an impatient person you may pull the copy from the feeder causing a misprint.

What it lacks in mechanical speed, I feel it makes up in print quality, so its a fair compromise for the price range.

While advertised as being compatible with the Macintosh operating system, the installation manual''s instructions for getting the wireless system working do not work. I needed to use Lexmark''s live chat (and allow them to wire in to my computer) to get it working using a completely different installation procedure. Then within a few weeks, the wireless network card began having problems and I needed to resort to live chat again. The technician told me there was NO way to install the printer on a Mac, even though I''d already done it. Almost three hours later, while trying to access a menu on the printer that apparently does not actually exist, the printer started printing from the queue on its own. The technician declared the printer fixed. Within an hour, it stopped working again. The error code clearly says the network card has an unrecoverable error and needs to be replaced, but Lexmark keeps sending me new things to try to get it working. So now I can only use my wireless printer when it is connected by USB cable.

On the positive side, print quality is excellent. Speed is good unless there are graphics, in which case it is very slow.

If the wireless card wasn''t broken and/or if the technical support people could actually fix the problem, I''d probably rate the printer four stars.

I am a graphic designer and have a small home office. It prints well and I really like the duplex feature. It has rarely jammed, and when it did, it was easy to clear the jam. The toner is very easy to change. I did have a bit of trouble setting up the wireless feature, but Lexmark''s customer service was excellent. They patiently worked with me to set it up -and they didn''t even make me feel like an idiot! The only thing that surprised me was the cost of the replacement toner. However, the overall cost of the laser toner is lower than the cost of multiple inkjet cartridges. And I like their free recycle/postage return paid toner program.

I found the initial setup on my wireless network (Apple Airport Extreme) to be challenging and it required a call to Lexmark''s excellent tech support team. After the setup was sorted out, I found the Lexmark C544DW Color Laser Printer to be a very high quality small workgroup or home office printer. It''s relatively fast and the output quality is excellent. It''s also completely silent in standby mode.

I am very disappointed in the performance of this printer. I just spent 2.5 hours printing out 228 pages double-sided in color for a club newsletter. That is about 3-sides per minute, which is a huge difference the published speed. After printing the 228 pages plus about 100 pages in black, printer status reports that the black toner is about 25% depleted (only 75% left) and the magenta is depleted 25% (around 75% left). This is based on using the original toner cartridges that came with the printer. The printer reports that the black toner cartridge has a capacity of 2500 pages while the Magenta toner cartridge has a capacity of only 2000 pages. Again, these are the original cartridges. So, it looks like the cost to print is about 3.5 cents a page (single sides) [($38 for black 2500 page cartridge x 25% + $40 for Magenta 2000 toner cartridge x 25%) / 556 single sided pages]. This does not include the cost for the ITU or fuser.

This combo pack provides great value cheaper than buying the two cartridges individually, and you get 100 sheets of Premium Plus High Gloss 4x6 photo paper with tabs thrown in.

What I''m less sure about is whether the cartridges are the same ones sold individually the box states "One HP57 and one HP58 ink cartridge customized for for 100 sheet HP Photo Value Pack". What does that really mean? The part numbers on the individual cartridges (CB267A and CB270A) provided here are different from the standalone part numbers. Might not mean anything, but HP could do itself a favor and clarify this for customers.

Regardless, the value provided by the pack is unbeatable.

I buy a lot of ink as I am a volunteer for a foundation which raises money via donations in exchange for photos. I use this ink and paper to print. While other vendors (even through amazon) sometimes sell it cheaper, with the benefits of Amazon''s shipping free, it more than equalizes the price difference. Furthermore, being an Amazon Prime Member I usually receive it within 72 hours of placing the order simply amazing! AMAZON ROCKS!

The combination makes for an excellent price value -AND it is elible for SuperSaving (i.e. free) shipping.

GREAT buy!

Great deal for the price. The cartridges usually print 130-140 pictures so you''ll get some extra life out of them after finishing off the paper that is included.

POLAROID ZINK Photo Paper (AZA-08011B)

POLAROID ZINK Photo Paper - 80 sheets - AZA-08011B
  • Creates borderless color images without ink
  • Prints are dry to the touch, smudge-proof, water-resistant, and tear-resistant
  • 2"x3" business card (7,6cmx5cm) print size
  • Peel-off adhesive back for sticker prints
  • For use with Dell Wasabi, Polaroid PoGo, and TOMY Xiao

I like the zink printer, it''s handy for some things. I go fishing and sometimes help a child catch his or her first fish.

With the zink printer, I can print the picture and give it to them for this memorable moment. There is a caviat when

buying this paper. My Zink printer is a dell, and it has this feature... well fault. It''s designed to reject use of other

branded paper. the secret is to save the blue card from your manufacturer''s paper and use it to replace the similar

card when changing paper. This should have been noted in the ad. Shame on Dell for their greed in having this feature

Greed can be the only motive and they should respect the printers owners right to use any paper they choose. Dell! You want

people to use your paper? price it reasonably and they''ll buy it from you. This deal is a good deal once you get past Dell''s

greedy nature.

Samsung Electronics CLX-3305FW Wireless Color Printer Save 25% off

Samsung Electronics CLX-3305FW Wireless Color Printer with Scanner, Copier and Fax
  • Its 4 in 1 functionality lets you print, copy, scan and fax in a snap.
  • There''s even one-touch Wi-Fi Protected Setup to help you save time, and an Eco Button to seave paper and toner.
  • With an ultra-small footprint, it fits virtually anywhere in your home or small office.
  • As for brilliant color, it''s ensured by Samsung''s latest image processing and polymerized toner formulation.

A color laser printer is pretty much the only type of printer I haven''t owned before. Although since I have background in IT, I have most definitely used them. Laser, inkjet... dot-matrix, etc. You name it, I''ve used it. :) While the current price does seem like quite a bit, that''s very cheap in comparison to what color laser printers used to cost. So let''s see how this Samsung model does.

OUT OF THE BOX

If you''ve ever opened up a printer box before, you won''t find anything shocking here. You''ve basically got your typical box-shaped laser printer with a 100 pieces of tape and packing material to keep everything secure. It''s compact for a color laser printer, but on-par with most laser printers. Even if you''re an expert at this stuff it still pays to skim over the quick-start guide to make sure you don''t forget any packing material.

There is a power cable, RJ-11 phone cable, power cable, warranty stuff, setup instructions, etc. The 4 toner cartridges are pre-installed, but are easy enough to swap out.

SETUP

As with most high-end printers you can connect it to your physical LAN, wireless, of USB of course. I normally go with the cable but decided to give wireless a try with this printer. To start you will need to connect the USB cable and pop-in the CD. I normally skip the CD and download the drivers, but Samsung''s site was going extremely slow. Not to mention, they''re website for drivers is at least a couple years out of date. Good luck finding what you need!

Fortunately, as long as you have the CD, the software will install and make sure it''s up-to-date for you. I went through the basic wireless setup instructions and in about 5 minutes, I was ready to go. The software isn''t the most user-friendly out there, but it''s should be simple enough for most folks trying to get basic functionality out of it.

CONTROLS

The printer has the standard controls to perform basic tasks such as print, fax, scan & copy. There is a disappointingly old-school monochrome LCD on the front panel. It''s on the small side and not all that easy to read unless you have enough light, and get up close. The menu''s let you do everything you need to from basic to advanced setup.

But I should warn those wanting to jump in there; this will totally confuse a novice user. This menu system layout has been around for decades and is about as good as it gets for type of display. Fortunately the basic controls and setup can be done from the software and you shouldn''t need to ever dig into the menu. But for advanced setup, like setting static-IP''s for example, the on-board controls are the only way to do this.

HARDWARE

As mentioned before, the printer itself is very basic and straightforward. The rear has the standard ports for phone, network, and power. The front panel will give you easy access to the 4 toner cartridges. Which is good, because based on the specs, a heavy printer is going to swap them out quite a bit.

And while on the topic, I always strongly suggest looking at the prices for replacement toner/ink on any printer you are going to buy. Especially laser printers. These things get expensive real quick. Don''t forget, they only include half-filled (or so) toner out of the box.

The paper tray is at the bottom and will protrude a few inches once you add standard sized paper. From the picture, you might assume it stays in there all the way. But it does not. I thought it was broken at first. There is a plastic cover so it doesn''t look bad or anything.

I also have this sitting next to a 4 year lexmark B&W laser printer and the layout is very similar. The way it scans and prints is pretty common these days. Except I think Lexmark''s control layout is a bit easier for somebody to figure out what everything does without having to stare at the buttons for too long.

PERFORMANCE

We can''t forget the most important part of a printer. I''ve already printed several colorful pictures and they look great; even on plain paper. The image is crisp, detailed, and colorful. The printer speed is faster than most inkjets and is more than enough for my uses. I copied a few other items in color with expected results.

I also tested out the wireless mobile printer using my Samsung Galaxy S2 and it worked great. Just install the Samsung Mobile Printer app from the Play Store and off you go. It automatically found my wireless printer and I was printing all kinds of pointless stuff in no time. While I can''t think of many situations where I need to do this, most guests are impressed nonetheless. :)

I wasn''t able to test the fax portion since it''s the year 2012 and I haven''t had a land-line or need to fax something in a very, very long time. But these things haven''t changed a whole lot, so I suspect it will work just fine.

PROS

+ Great print quality

+ Compact design

+ Easy toner swap

+ Separate toner cartridges

+ Mobile printing

+ Wi-Fi, LAN, & USB

+ Simple controls for basic tasks

CONS

Expensive toner

Not the most user-friendly setup

Paper tray sticks out a bit

Ancient monochrome display

Complicated process for advanced setup/config

CONCLUSION

As a technician, I often have to stand back and try to look at product as an "average user" is going to. I think for most folks who follows the setup guide, uses the wizard on the CD, and doesn''t try to get too crazy, it will work just fine. I do wish it had the nice color touch screens that most modern inkjets have and the toner wasn''t so expensive.

But then again, this is a relatively inexpensive home & small office color laser printer. That puts this in a completely different league. So once you take everything into consideration, I think you have a pretty decent and above-average product here and would recommend it to those in the market.

I really like laser printers compared to inkjet, because of the appearance and durability of the printed product. I especially like that you can use a highlighter on laser printed documents without the ink smudging or running. Try that with an inkjet. My affinity for laser printers usually comes up against the high cost of color laser printers and the lack of Laser all-in-ones on the market. Before getting this Samsung all-in-one, we used to have a black-and-white laser printer and a separate color inkjet all-in-one. That combination took up way too much desk space and was a lot to maintain. It also required a decision each time versus printing to color inkjet or gray laser. A hard choice on some projects. With this offering from Samsung, you don''t have to make those trade-offs.

This, CLX-3305FW, is fast (for the size and price), prints well, and has a very compact footprint. After a couple weeks of use now, only thing that I don''t like about it is the short life of the toner cartridges, especially the ridiculous ''starter'' cartridges that came in the box. You should price out the cost of replacement cartridges when you consider this printer''s price, because you''ll be replacing them soon after it arrives.

Other than the short life of the cartridges, I like everything about this system. It is extremely compact for a laser printer, especially for a color all-in-one. Getting it set-up was fast and easy, and each of its functions work very well. I had no problems hard-wiring it into my Linksys router and getting it installed on all our Windows 7 machines. It scans, prints, faxes, and copies very well. It isn''t super fast, but is fine for home use. The image quality both on prints and copies is better than I expected and as good as any other printer out there. My opinion is that they are all pretty perfect at this point. I haven''t seen a functioning printer that didn''t make wonderful prints in the last three years or so.

I really like the compact size, which is perfect for home use. If you know what you are getting into with toner cost (over $100 per 1000 sheets), and the numbers work for you, then I recommend this system. It is very easy to use and does a great job.

Weight 30.8 lbs.

Pros:

* Small foot print, will not dominate your desk, smaller than most inkjet printers and lasers.

* Simple control layout, very easy to setup and use.

* All in one laser printer does not require PC to make copies, fax, or print photo''s from a USB Drive.

* Cheaper to replace toner vs your average inkjet printer.

* Feeder tray on top of the printer makes it easy to use varied sizes of papers, from normal letter, to legal, to envelopes or photos.

* Built in network for ethernet connection, Wifi, or normal USB2 connection to your PC.

Cons:

* The lower paper tray has a relatively small capacity. It stay compact unless you need to put letter size paper or larger paper. It can be a little difficult to reconfigure the lower paper tray size.

* Includes "starter" toner cartridges which have roughly half the print capacity as the normal cartridges, should have been full size.

* Relatively slow printing in relation to your average laser or inkjet printer, but not bad overall. It''s rated at 19ppm Black and white, and 4ppm color. I''ve found it to actually be a little slower than that, so not great for high volume printing use.

* No Auto Duplexer for dual sided printing. It must be done manually. This will not be a problem for most people, but for those who need to do large volumes of dual sided printing, this printer is not for you.

* Only supports USB drives and not SD cards or other media.

Conclusion:

The printer was easy to unbox and setup. I connected it to my wifi network without a hitch. Doing a copy is quick and easy, and I can choose color or black and white to save valuable toner. The print quality is very nice but nothing extraordinary. The print speed could be better, and the lack of a built in duplexer will further slow down print jobs if you need dual sided printing. The built in fax is easy to use as doing a basic copy, you need an available phone jack to plug into. I love the compact size of the printer which makes it easy to use in right quarters. It becomes a little less compact if you do need to use larger paper such as stars letter and the lower paper tray is a bit fiddly. Overall those it''s a nice printer, though a bit pricey for what you get comparing it to other models that will also print faster and have auto duplexers. For it''s high price, average print quality, somewhat slower than average print speed, lack of an auto duplexer for dual sided printing, and starter toner cartridges.

I use this printer in a home office. The first major project given to this printer was to print out wedding programs on cardstock. I needed an all-in-one that mainly does heavy small home office duties, but also can provide high quality prints.

## Assembly and Setup:

The assembly was pretty straight forward as the diagrams provided were easy to follow. As with most modern printers, it''s more difficult undoing all the packing tape than it is to plug the printer into the wall. The cartridges were pre-installed. The software setup was a bit of a pain. I had to go online to find the correct printer drivers. This took some time to navigate, download, and install the correct driver, compounding this time consumption was that I had to install the drive three more times on my various other PCs and laptops at home.

## Aesthetics, Ergonomics:

The unit has a compact design. I had a short square-shaped bookshelf that I had used

for my last all-in-one, and this fit perfectly in its place. The unit is a bit taller than my last

all-in-one, but mostly importantly, it was not wider or longer. One feature that is poorly

designed is the paper tray. The tray sticks out on the front side of the printer and is an

eyesore.

## Performance:

The initial duty given to this printer was to produce 130 color copies of a wedding program on cardstock. The cardstock had no issues feeding through the printer''s tray. The print

quality was fantastic. I could not tell the quality difference between this unit versus prints performed by professional units. Needless to say, I was very satisfied with the output.

One minor issue that came up was the printer generates quite a bit of heat when printing 100+ continuous pages. The heat affected the ink on the paper and at times had issues with minor smearing. After the wedding programs, I also printed various other documents through the basic print, scanning, and copying functions. This unit was really easy to use, and given that the outputs were only black and white, the quality was on par with many other home office all-in-one units. I was disappointed with the "Eco" setting. This was a preset that minimizes the use of black ink for any of the print or copy features. However, the print quality was suboptimal, and rendered this feature useless, as the output resembled a printer that was running out of ink toner (faded ink in the center of the page). I''m sure there is a way to set the advanced settings to customize the "Eco" feature, but if this is the case, why would the default be so useless? Finally, on a similar note, the advanced features on this printer are very extensive. Although I use the default settings for my initial tasks and projects, you can get lost in the menus and submenus customizing every feature of print quality, paper size, etc. If you have time to customize and review every submenu to optimize your printing requirements, then this should not be an issue, but I imagine, most people buy these units because they need to print/copy/scan/fax as soon as possible and as a replacement for their prior broken units, and therefore have no time to use all these advanced features.

## PROS

Super easy basic printing, scanning, copying tasks

Reasonably easy setup, plug and play

Fantastic print quality

Reasonably efficient use of space

Mobile, Wi-Fi, LAN, USB connections

## CONS

Complex advanced print features and setup

Expensive toner

Paper tray sticks out

Useless "Eco" print feature

I have been a user of color laser printers for years at work. This is the first time I have had one for home use. I have been very happy home user of HP inkjet printers for over a decade and have two in my home.

I have been using the Samsung CLX-3305FW color printer as a secondary printer since I received it. This printer will be more expensive to operate than my ink jets so I plan to use it only for higher end jobs (downloads of brochures and white papers, printing on letterhead, and/or copies that are not prone to ink smudges when highlighting). I am very happy with what I have experienced thus far. Its controls are very well designed and easy to use. It runs much quieter and faster than the inkjet and the copy quality is great, in both B&W and color. Colors, as advertized, are great.

Also, as a plus for me, two-sided copying is much easier, `cleaner,'' and superior to what I have had to endure with my ink-jets. In the past, when needing 2-sided copies, I have opted for Kinkos. This task can now be performed at home.

I found the Samsung CLX-3305FW color printer easy to set up out of the box. It took less than 30 minutes to set up and print my first copies. I have had some problems with the WiFi connection but these are not related to the CLX printer but, rather, to my router.

The unit''s footprint is small, requiring only 1.6 square feet of desk top space. I have mine on the top of a dresser in an unused bedroom. It is lightweight weighing in at just under 31 pounds.

The CLX-3305FW Color Laser Printer uses the following toner and consumables:

* Black: CLT-K406S Average page yield of 1,500 standard*** pages.

* Cyan: CLT-C406S Average page yield of 1,000 standard*** pages.

* Magenta: CLT-M406S Average page yield of 1,000 standard*** pages.

* Yellow: CLT-Y406S Average page yield of 1,000 standard*** pages.

* Imaging Unit: CLT-R406 Average of 16,000 black & white pages, or 4,000 color pages.

* Waste Toner Bottle: CLT-W406 Average of 7,000 black & white pages, or 1,750 color pages.

The CLX-3305FW Multifunction Printer is backed by a one-year warranty.

What I like most about this printer:

* Laser quality prints

* Speed and very quiet

* Multi-use

* Small footprint

* Graphic on my computer showing cartridge levels

* Easy replacement of toner (separate toner cartridges)

* Wi-Fi, LAN, & USB

This is an exceptional printer for those seeking an affordable laser printer to use at home or for a small business.

Beautiful results when I make my own greeting cards, with photos! Excellent weight, between heavy card stock and paper, but still easy to fold. Also a very economical choice for greeting cards. Took a few tries to get the best settings with my printer, but really happy with the results now. Setting paper type to "HP Brochure Glossy" and "Best" print quality gave me POOR results with an HP 6900 printer.
