Generally I don''t buy off brands for my Epson printer, but under $20 a set vs. $75 I had to check it out. It was well worth the price, quality is the same/

I was skeptical but I needed ink.

I hadn''t used my printer in "a while" and though I had a bit of ink left, the poor thing hadn''t been used in a while so I had to do some nozzle cleaning and burned through what little I had or hadn''t evaporated away. Since the printer had been sitting I figured I''d try this ink instead of spending the $100 for Epson ink. The Light Magenta at first gave me an error that it wasn''t the right ink but I released the ink cartridge and pushed it back down (not removing it) low and behold that worked.

After several prints using photo, gloss, regular paper, and various images from small to large everything looked just like what I had done before. I''m not an image snob by far, I like to take my pictures and other images then frame them nothing special. So far, not a problem, the printer has no issues and register all full.

I''m actually thinking I should buy another set just so I have more ink around later.

Described as Epson ink, but this is NOT Epson ink. My printer would not work with it. Returned. Epic fail.

Samsung SPP-2040 Digital Photo Printer ( Windows Macintosh )

Samsung SPP-2040 Digital Photo Printer
  • Dye sublimation thermal transfer color print process
  • 300 x 300 dpi resolution; 2-inch LCD preview screen
  • High speed USB interface; PictBridge-compatible memory card slot
  • Windows and Macintosh compatible; One-year warranty

We bought this printer several months back. It prints beautiful photos, generally well-balanced colors and of a good quality. The final layer is waterproof and fingerprintproof, so it is great for making prints to share with friends and family (especially kids)

The only problem with the printer is that when you put in a memory card, it takes a long time to browse the photos. This is not a problem if you have a small memory card, but with a large collection of photos on a card it is impractical to browse the photos quickly enough, and even going from one photo to the next takes quite a few seconds. The onscreen menus for editing/changing photos is also quite limited. The best way to use the printer is to download the photos off your memory card onto a computer, select the ones you want to print, and dump them onto another memory card. Then, insert that into the printer and press the PRINT-ALL button.

A final note: this printer uses a special type of Samsung cartridge and Samsung paper that you have to buy as a bundle. You should only purchase this printer if you live in a place geographically close to a supplier that stocks it for a reasonable price, otherwise it is a hassle.

I''ve gotten maybe 100 photos off the SPP-2040 so far and continue to be amazed at the quality. Takes a full 60 seconds for one print but it''s fun to watch as the photo paper passes through 4 times to lay down each of the primary colors and a black. Costs about 39 cents a print if you buy replacement paper and ribbons in quantity.

I could hook it up to my PC with a USB cable but it''s so much easier to just slide in a camera''s memory card and print off of that. Supports all 7 of the popular memory cards including some I''d thought were proprietary. The unit is tiny enough to fit handily into a briefcase and I''ve gotten in the habit of taking it along whenever I travel. Blows away friends when I take a picture of their cat and present them with the finished photo a couple minutes later.

On/off switch stopped working the first week. Now have to poke inside with a ballpoint to activate the microswitch in the printer circuit board. And replacement paper and ribbons are not easy to find; none of the big Electronic and Office Supply chains seem to carry them. Samsung doesn''t seem to have built the dealer network that the other photo printer makers have.

Overall, a remarkable machine.

This is my first experience with a Photo Printer. The pictures have great quality to the them and they are clear and sharp. Easy to use and faster then waiting for them to be developed.

Everything about this printer is great, including the packaging. Though I am not one to be hung up on something as small as packaging, I would have to say they did an elegant job with this product. It even reminded me of similar packaging you would find in Apple brand products. Anyhow, setting this printer up on a Macintosh can be difficult. If you are running Mac OS X 10.4 you may need to download and install an updated version of the Common Unix Printing System, better known as Cups. Otherwise, you may be stuck with a "printer not responding" message. After I learned how to fix the printing issue everything was smooth sailing. For one, it''s a dye thermal printer so you don''t have any inkjet cartridges to become clogged resulting in bad prints. After sending the print command, It quickly sucks the paper back and forth four times, each time laying down a different layer of dye until your left with a final print which is indistinguishable from a lab quality print. One other issue is the fact that you have to set up your document using the Page Setup dialog box or your printer will somehow think you are printing on 8.5x11 or some other size that it doesn''t accept. Be sure to set it to "Postcard" or "Poscard Borderless" AND set the page orientation. Anyhow, besides the couple small issues I am more than happy with this product. You can produce beautiful prints quickly and easily that will wow yourself and friends.

This is great for families and amatuer photogs who want a quick way to see their work. As good as drug store prints and right when you want them. Software is easy to setup and use. Printer is quick and so far dependable. Be aware that when hooked to an xp pc, for some reason, the software switches the samsung to the default printer. So after a printing session check to make sure you''re usual printer is on line again. Other than that small quirk, no problems at all.

Does what it''s supposed to. I gave the printer away and bought this ink so the person who needed the printer could print. I personally HATED the ESP 5250 because it would always drop the network connection and I could almost never print from a remote computer. But this review isn''t about the stinkin'' printer, it''s about the ink cartridge.

  • Bright White Base Creates Highly Saturated Images
  • High Resolution Coating Providing Photographic Quality
  • Compatible with aqueous wide-format inkjet printers (Thermal and Piezo) including Epson, Canon, HP, Roland, Encad, Novajet, ColorSpan, Mutoh, Mimaki

While the quality of this paper is good you can obtain better paper for the same price. I must have been mistaken when I ordered this as I was certain I was getting 50 sheets at this price and had I actually gotten that amount I would have to say it would be a very good buy but at 20 sheets for this price it is NOT high enough quality for that price point. The saturation of the paper is good, this does make decent B&W prints and the same for color. I would have purchased Hahnemuhle canvas instead if I wanted to pay premium price for 20 sheets.

On the bright side this vendor did in fact deliver the paper. The paper is NOT crappy and is worth a look if your in the market and want to try some different papers. I printed this using a Canon ix6520 printer and the prints were good, it had no trouble pulling the paper through. I just feel that the number of sheets at the price point is too few when there are known higher quality alternatives out there. Being an unknown vendor with few purchases or reviews I would suggest a better price or more sheets for the price to get your name out there.

Hp - COL LJ CP3505N LASERPR 22/22PPM 256MB USB US EN

Hp - COL LJ CP3505N LASERPR 22/22PPM 256MB USB US ENThis is an excellent printer. I just got it about 2 days ago and have printed out several 8" x 11" digital photographs. Honestly, I can not tell the difference between a regular photograph and the print out when I use laser photo paper. Even with regular paper, the printouts are good, but you lose a lot of contrast. The software lets you bump the print quality up to 600 x 1200 dpi. The printer also prints extremely fast.

There are 2 negatives that I can tell at the moment...

1. The printer is somewhat noisy and seems to clean between each print job (I think).

2. The printer is pretty big so you need space.

I have seen photo print outs from this printer and the HP Color Laserjet 3600n (Which both use the same cartridges) and think both printers have excellent image quality. If you are looking for a printer that will print out excellent quality images, this probably is the printer you want. Go to a store that carries this printer and print out a demo print to see the image quality. (Click on the ''menu'' button, scroll down to ''information'' and hit the green ''check mark'' button then scroll down to ''print demo'' and hit the green ''check mark'' button again).

I paint and draw portraits and take digital photographs of the paintings to use in my portfolio. I have to say that this printer should work great for that. If I did professional photography or wedding photos, it may not be high enough quality for that, I do not know.

Finally, the color is a bit off straight out of the box. I haven''t taken the time to adjust it, but I assume that this really wouldn''t be a big deal since I noticed some color adjustment software with the windows XP driver, which is the OS I use.

HP LaserJet Pro 200 M275NW Laser Multifunction Printer

HP LaserJet Pro 200 M275NW Laser Multifunction Printer - Color - Plain Paper Print - Desktop. TOPSHOT LASERJET PRO M275 AIO CLR P/C/S USB 2.0 ENET WL 600X600 CL-MFP. Printer, Copier, Scanner - 17ppm Mono/4ppm Color Print - 600 x 600dpi Print - 17cpm Mono/4cpm Color Copy - Touchscreen LCD - 245dpi Optical Scan - Manual Duplex Print - 150 sheets Input - Fast Ethernet - Wi-Fi - USBWe''ve had this printer for about a month, and it''s been wonderful. I really love the color laser, beats an inkjet any day. The scanner is really neat too. I was worried about how long the ink would last. It seems to be lasting. We have printed a lot things and the quality still looks great. I even printed some pictures on plain paper and put them in a frame, and you couldn''t tell it wasn''t on photo paper. I would recommend this printer for the great quality and a great price!

I do a lot of scanning and printing so despite my misgivings of all-in-one printers I decided to upgrade from inkjet printing to color laser. I couldn''t have been more pleased to find a quality printer at a price that was not an arm and a leg. The printer can be hooked up directly to a computer via USB or into a network either wired or wireless. Connecting the printer directly to my computer with a USB cable automatically started the driver install process from the firmware on the printer. Nice! The tools included during the install are also a great plus since they make keeping track of toner supplies easy.

The one major deficit for me is the Topshot scanner, the quality of scans is decidedly far below even poor quality. Bleeding colors, wrong color definition, fine detail blurred out, are just some of the deficiencies of the scanner. The Topshot scanner according to the product description is designed for scanning 3D objects, not 2D items such as documents or photographs. Even 3D objects don''t scan well. I am glad I kept my HP inkjet 3050 for backup scanning, it now is my primary scanner.

Good laser printer but has limited paper sizes. Connected easily to my wireless network. Makes good copies. Scans documents nicely, so long as it fits its narrow paper sizing.

We have had the printer for a month or so, and it seems to be working great so far. Color document printing looks great, and the scanner is pretty neat. AirPrint also works like a charm. We haven''t done any heavy printing yet, but for our occasional use, it seems to be perfect.

Samsung Electronics CLX-4195FW Wireless Color Printer Save 22% off

Samsung Electronics CLX-4195FW Wireless Color Printer with Scanner, Copier and Fax
  • It begins with a large 4.3-Inch color touch screen that allows you to print, copy, scan, and fax and quickly access the multitude of interface options with ease.
  • Ideal for your small business or home office, the CLX-4195FW features Samsung''s latest image processing and polymerized toner formulation for brilliant color and super-crisp text and graphics.
  • A 19 ppm print speed, 533 MHz Dual CPU, and Gigabit Ethernet keep you productive and built-in wireless and Wi-Fi Direct makes printing - even printing from your tablet or smartphone - a snap.
  • The Samsung CLX-4195FW is a valuable player in a multitude of ways.

I was very excited to get this printer to replace an aging Brother MFC-7820N 5-in-1 Network Monochrome Laser Multifunction Center, one of the very early SOHO network printers available at a modest price. This printer served me well but definitely had its limitations, mainly its ability to network print. So I was ecstatic at the prospects of actually being able to house my printer where I wanted to and not be limited by where my computer was, my router was, or how long my ethernet cable could be (ideal for a home office where we generally don''t have the entire house wired).

SETUP: First, setup was very easy. Honestly, sometimes the hardest thing to do is to interpret the pictographs that the "easy start/setup literature" is telling you to do. But after everything was untapped and all of the plastic locks around all of the toner cartridges were removed, the unit fired right up and went through a calibration and brief setup. All in all, probably not more than 5 minutes. Depending on your level of comfort with technology or if you are tech savvy, you may want to stop following the "easy start instructions" now. I did, so instead of running the setup CD, i went through the menu and found that I could manually set up my wireless by scanning for my wireless router''s SSID, selected it and manually entered the passcode. After that I installed the drivers from the CD that has a setting to set up the printer by USB, wireless, or wireless via USB. I love this feature because I would not choose to keep my printer near my router or my computer(s) so this is great!

Ten minutes later, from the point I opened the box and started, my test print popped out of the printer and it looks pretty good. I have yet to use all of the functions but am very happy so far. After the print manager was installed, the app easily allows you to control the printer''s functions such as scanning and faxing. I just played briefly with the scan feature and it seems to work well with the typical options that a decent standalone scanner will allow such as resolution, text/photo scan, color/b&w/graysacle, paper size, cropping, etc., nothing that would be alien to anyone that has owned a scanner before.

NO AUTO DUPLEX PRINTING: Another feature that i wanted to try was the duplexing task. while this unit doesn''t have a automatic duplexing feature to print on both sides, it does have an auxiliary feeding tray on top of tray one that you can load up all of the sheets into and have it complete the back sides all at once. Not the easiest thing to use but unless you are constantly printing on both sides, it not too bad.

MOBILE PRINTING: A key feature of this printer that''s still not found on many printers is the ability to print from a smartphone or other mobile device. In my household, we have Android smartphones & tablets and iPhone users. Samsung has released apps for the Android,iOS and Windows platforms allowing you to print directly from the mobile device of your choice. I tested this on my Asus Transformer Prime (Android ICS OS). I downloaded the Samsung Mobile Print app from Google Play. Shortly after downloading, the app was able to detect the printer, and I was able to print directly from my tablet. The lack of printer support thus far on Android makes this a must-have feature for me, which makes an already good printer great from my perspective.

COLOR: Color reproduction and speed are on par with most other mid end color laser printers and nothing too noteworthy nor horrible. It was able to print photos with vibrant color, but still can''t compare to my dedicated photo inkjet printer (which it shouldn''t be expected to...)

CONCLUSION: Overall, I am very happy with this unit and look forward to replacing my old workhorse that while it served me well kept me tethered to my PC or my router. I love the fact that I could completely set up the unit without ever having to be near any computer. Though it would have been nice to have duplex printing support, the ability to print from any mobile device (Android, iOS, and Windows) in my household makes this printer a clear winner.

Buy Samsung Electronics CLX-4195FW Wireless Color Printer Now

The Samsung CLX-4195FW is a nice home office printer. The setup time was literally 10 minutes from box opening to printing and that was with wireless only network connections. I did not, and still have not, physically connect(ed) this printer to a computer. The setup was extremely simple for me, having a modern router with a pushbutton connect helped tremendously, so I did not have to enter any SSID or password information.

Printing:

Thus far the printer has been fast in black and white and fairly fast with color printing. The time to first print has been about 15 seconds. I have no complaints with the speed or the quality of the prints. Text is clear down to 6 pt, which I find good, and color is good. I find the color acceptable for most busniness applications. Photos come out decent, but not as good as my dedicated Epson photo printer. Though I would not expect this printer to rival or be comparable to the Epson for photos.

Duplexing is done by way of placing pages that have one side printed into a tray that feeds them for printing on the other side. Not being one that uses two-sided printing often, the lack of full-auto duplexing isn''t an issue. But it may be for one that does two-sided printing often.

I have found the toner cartridges for $90-$125 each, which is on par for color laser cartridges. So far it has been pretty miserly with the toner. I haven''t done a lot of full page color printing yet where 90% or more of the page is covered in color, when I do a large run like that I will edit this review to reflect the toner usage.

It is a bit noisy when it fires up, but quickly quiets down after it finishes printing.

The only two miniscule complaints I have had are:

1. That after extended periods of being unused (after a weekend idle), I need to wake the printer up by touching the touchscreen, as it won''t print until I do.

2. The surface where the pages are output makes it hard to just "slide" the pages out toward you and off the printer.

These are as nitpicky as I can be with this unit, it has and is, performing very well under 5-day/week usage.

I have had a few other Konica and Dell color lasers in this price/duty-range and this printer outperforms them thus far. The Android and Apple mobile device apps have worked flawlessly thus far.

Copier:

The copier has done a wonderful job and outputs clean and clear pages. It is as fast as the printer, and gets its first page out in about 15 seconds. it features N-Up copy so will it copy more than one original to a single page. And ID copy to allow copying both sides of an ID to a single page. It has a 25% to 400% zoom. Copying can be done by the single page from the platen or multipage from the 50 sheet document feeder.

Scanner:

The scanner is decent, fine for documents, but definitely not for high quality scans as it is a native 1200 x 1200 dpi optical scanner. Scanning can be done by the single page from the platen or multipage from the 50 sheet document feeder.

Fax:

Though I haven''t used the fax yet, the stats show the fax is a standard 33.6 Kps modem with 300 x 300 dpi resolution in black and white and 200 x 200 dpi in color.

Overall, it''s a solid mid-level color laser printer, at a good price point, with normal consumable costs.

Update 1/24/13: After over 60 days of use, I still have no complaints. It hasn''t dropped from the network once, and since this review was originall posted it has never required the tap on the screen to wake it up after extended periods of idle time. I am still on the toner that came with the machine, it is under mild to moderate use, so it appears to be sparing on consumables. Though, I will update when I start using known full cartridges.

We do a lot of printing in our small business, so I was excited about trying this printer. It prints quickly and the pages are really lovely. I haven''t had any problems with paper jamming, and the quality of the prints is good. The ink cartridges seem to be good for a lot of printing, and we haven''t needed to replace one yet even though we''re printing quite a bit every day. It''s not noisy, and it''s a nice looking printer. It will look good in your office and deliver good looking prints as well. It scans quickly, too.

One problem with the printer is that it is VERY big and VERY heavy. This might be a problem in cramped areas. The weight is something you only have to worry about when you carry it to your work station, but if you''re going to be moving this around a lot, you''re going to get a workout. I am skinny and don''t have a lot of muscle, and it took everything I had just to slide it in the door from the front porch. The other drawback about it is that I had frustrating problems making it connect with my computer. It took multiple tries to get it connected permanently.

The saving grace that makes it 5 stars is the fact that it includes a printer cable. So if you have problems connecting wirelessly, you can use the cable to get going right away, and work on your wireless connection later. What matters in the end is crisp, beautiful printing, and once you have it in place and connected, you''ll get exactly that. I highly recommend this for any business or home office.

This printer is big. So much so that my initial feeling was that it would be more at home in Kinkos than in my home office. It''s a gorgeous piece of kit, to be sure, but the proof is in the copies and that''s where it really delivers and I mean delivers, because it delivers fast copies with crisp black text and beautiful color.

I don''t know what more to say about a printer that I''ve come to really love. Oh yeah, it installed without quirks, works quietly, scans quickly and look imposing too. Gotta hand it to Samsung with this one, it''s winner.

Out the box this seems to be a good enough all in one. When setting up everything was easy to follow, set up and hook up. Print paper and doing the test was easy and came out good enough for me although I''m still figuring out a few things. For printing and color some may have different standards of quality but I thought it was good. Other than that everything worked good for me for now, as most times you will see flaws after a few uses or few weeks so lets see how everything goes with an update.

The only thing I was not able to use was the fax as I am unable to test that right now.
