Sharp UX-B750 Inkjet Fax

Sharp UX-B750 Inkjet Fax
  • A convenient communications tool for a range of personal and home office applications, the new Fax UX-B750 is a compact, stylish Inkjet plain-paper fax with an unobtrusive footprint that works well in typical home or home office environments. Special attention to compatibility with home telephone usage lets it switch seamlessly between fax and telephone modes, allowing customers to receive fax and voice calls on a single line.
  • The latest in a generation of fax machines that are ideal for small business or office workgroups.

I''ve used this machine basically for faxing items out. I didn''t need anything too fancy or too complicated. This unit actually has more involved functions that I don''t need but I purchased it cause the price was right. So far so good, setup was simple, it is extremely lightweight (I kind of worried about this as my past fax was at least 3times heavier). Uses standard copier paper (thank goodness), fax is very quiet and scans pages quickly. It also has a hand-set if you need to make a regular phone call from it. I haven''t received incoming faxes on it yet but if a problem arises, I will be sure to post additional feedback.

Overall, a nice fax. Setup was fairly easy, some of the features I''m still trying to figure out however. My old one was easier, but I''d had that for about a dozen years & knew it pretty well. No serious complaints about the new one so far !!

fax was cheap, but I didn`t realize it came without ink, which cost more than the fax is worth. So it is just more trash.

We love this fax machine. We had little space, so the size is perfect. The performance is very efficient for our small volume.

So easy to use. The printing results are so clear.

Don''t really need a full-time fax, but I told myself if I came upon one more transaction where I could use a fax machine I would buy one. The machine was larger and bulkier than I expected or wanted but it did what it was supposed to.

Using plain paper it sent faxes quickly and clearly, made nice copies and printed faxes just fine. The manual was bursting with things it could do but...meh, not interested. I sent maybe 7 pages, received 2 and copied 2 then it ran out of ink! No pictures, no colors just plain text; I never got the low ink warning, just 11 lousy pages and wham NO INK. Given the generous amount of ink I got on my hands the cartridge was NOT empty. The replacement is about $30. What a rip-off. At 11 pages per cartridge, this thing could cost a thousand dollars in a few years!!

I speak about this machine in the past tense because it is currently sitting in the yard under a pile of dirt and leaves. It refused to take any of the similar-looking ink cartridges I had around the house, so I murdered it. Not so Sharp now, are you?

Canon ImageCLASS MF4350d Laser All-in-One Printer

Canon ImageCLASS MF4350d Laser All-in-One Printer
  • It has 250-sheet paper tray, 35-sheet ADF and built-in duplexer
  • Multifunction monochrome laser printer that scans, faxes, and copies
  • 250-sheet paper tray; 35-sheet ADF; built-in duplexer
  • High-resolution color scanning up to 9600 dpi
  • 33.6kbps Super G3 faxing for ultra-fast transmissions
  • Print and copy speeds up to 23 ppm

Overall, this is a good all-in-one laser printer for its price in consumer class printers. Here are some detailed comments.

1. The automatic paper feeder is well designed the situation that multiple pages go-through at once never happens (in HP 3050, this happens a lot).

2. Canon provided a well designed user interface functions are easy to follow and operate, including scan / printer / copy.

3. The automatic duplex print is excellent and make the printer worth what you paid for. But when using automatic double sided printing the print speed turns to be less than a third (instead a half) because the mechanical parts need a lot of time to flip the paper.

4. As some of you may have concerned, the latest firmware (02/09/2009) makes scan function smooth on a Mac all you need is to press the scan button. This is tested on a Leopard Mac Mini.

5. In case some of you want know the compatibility with printer servers, this printer is full compatible with Netgear PS121 printer server under windows vista (including automatic duplex) x86 and x64. It is NOT compatible with Netgear PS121 under Mac Leopard (no idea why installation smooth and prints went through nothing comes out of printer). This printer is NOT compatible with Maxtor Central Axis printer server function.

To summary, this is a good printer for its price. However, concerning its powerful function, you may want spend some extra money for the 4370n to enable every function on network if you are working in a networked environment.

I purchased this machine on Amazon in November. Overall, I''ve been happy with it. Duplexing was an important feature to me, and Canon appears to offer that on less expensive printers than other companies.

I don''t have a lot of experience to base my judgments on, but I think the print quality is very good, with a couple exceptions. First, the printing is sometimes crooked on the paper, especially on the back side when duplexing. However, the Canon rep I complained to said that a variance within 2mm is considered acceptable, so I measured and this printer is within that tolerance. It''s visible, though, especially on forms, such as printer checks. (Actually, my cheapest of Dell inkjets printed straighter.)

The other problem also appears when duplexing: on the back side there''s a strip of blurred printing from top to bottom where the toner didn''t bond. This only appears on the first sheet after the printer has sat idle awhile. The Canon rep had no answer, had not heard of this before.

Yes, you can scan from the machine if you download the firmware update.

I think I''d buy it if I had it to do over. It''s quick and has really crisp printing. If you want to compare, some similar Canons I looked at are the MF4150, MF4370dn and MF4270.

I am a bit disappointed after I''ve played with this copier ImageCLASS MF4350d. Note that Canon calls this a copier, not a printer. Thus, when you call Canon or search its site for help/technical support, make sure you select the "Copier" category.

This ImageCLASS MF4350d has been in the market for a while but no one reports this problem: up to this moment of writing this review, the machine cannot scan a document by using its own START button. Everything must be scanned via the software "Toolbox" from the computer.

I bought it a few days ago. I called Canon 1-800 for help but it was useless. Then I went back to the store and tried their demo machine; it has the same problem. Whenever I push the START button on the machine for scanning, there is always a beeping sound as a return but the LCD doesn''t show any error it always indicates "Scanning Mode." So I called Canon again to go over the story. Finally they admitted the problem and said that they are aware of this issue; their engineers are working on the new firmware to fix this. However it won''t be soon. The new firmware may be possibly released next month but could be later. I also wrote an email to Canon support to confirm this information one more time, besides their verbal confirmation over the phone.

In addition, the scanning has no detection senor. Thus, the scanned document (scanned from the computer) will go as large as the paper size, which is usually the Letter/A4 size depending on your settings. The scanned document will NOT be resized automatically according to the actual object(s). It is different from its ink jet printers, which usually detect the size of the document or photo and then resize automatically.

If scanning a document directly from the machine''s START button is important to you, you should wait to buy until the new firmware comes. If resizing the document or photo automatically is important to you, this copier or printer is not for you; you may consider others or Canon ink jet type printer. After all, this all-in-on laser printer is classified a copier internally by Canon.

I''ve had this product for over 6 months now and have owned several other printers in the past. This printer by far is the worst for toner cartridge life. I am using the recommended cartridge, Canon cartridge 104. The printer is constantly alerting that the toner is low and then forces me to replace the cartridge much earlier than necessary. It will stop printing even though the printing quality has never even faded. No amount of shaking the cartridge, placing it in and out of the machine, turning it on or off helps. I have used this type of cartridge in the past on other machines and have never been forced to change them so frequently. I would not recomend this machine or the use of these canon cartridges to anyone unless you have an unlimited income to continually purchase new cartridges.

This is a really great little printer for the money, It is; fast, quiet, and really easy to use. Prints are clean and professional. It is only black and white, but you can scan color items and print on an inkjet ( I use my old epson ) It is also totally MAC compatible! You have the option to scan or copy using either the feed or the flatbed.... Gotta say, I love this machine ! Although you have to go to canon''s website to download the drivers for Mac, if you call their support at 1-800-385-2155( if you''re a bone head like me) they will walk you through it and make sure everything is configured right. I give this two thumbs up !Canon ImageCLASS MF4350d Laser All-in-One Printer (2711B001AA)

Installed today....not worth the savings over the ones from PB. Only 85% of the PB weight which probably means less ink and therefore less life. Also the print is not as good as the PB cartridges. Will try "maintenance" again and see if that doesn''t improve the printing.....let''s hope so!!!!

I ordered a few cartridges and must have gotten a bad batchreally streaky to the point that I wasn''t sure the postage I paid for would be readable by the post office! I was upset and sent a message indicating my problem to the seller. I was particularly interested in not having to send back the streaky cartridges just in case our office needed to mail something (since I already filled up my meter) They were very good about sending my replacement cartridges and a few tips to see if the ink had just settled (didn''t work) but that is okthe replacements came very timely and work great! Very pleased with the serviceI have not ordered much through amazon but this was the best "bad" experience yet! Thank you!

Media Street Royal Canvas, Glossy White Archival Fine Art Inkjet Media Save 25% off

Media Street Royal Canvas, Glossy White Archival Fine Art Inkjet Media, 18.8 mil., 8.5x11'', 20 Sheets.I tried some other canvas papers which were okay, but I really liked this particular canvas paper. It feels and looks more like real canvas. Some other canvas papers I tried seemed like they were just coated with some cheap white coating...this may also be, but they did it better! I printed out some beautiful black and white family photos on this paper, put them on stretcher bars, and gave them for holiday gifts. I have an Epson 1280 inkjet. When I researched canvas paper to go with my printer I found out that Epson doesn''t make canvas paper for my model, and canvas isn''t an option in the printer driver settings. What I did was set the printer settings at Heavy Matte photo paper, and everything seemed to work fine. You may have trouble feeding this paper into your printer. I did, but I solved it. I think it''s because of the paper coating--my Epson 1280 couldn''t pull it easily into place. It may need some manual help to get it into that first "pull." Also, It helped for me to place a plain sheet of paper behind the canvas when loading the paper. Very nice paper.

This is an excellent inkjet canvas product. I have used other brands with my Epson photo printers and have encountered jamming and streaking problems. However, this canvas photo paper performs like high quality photo paper in my printer. It is also bright white so it provides good contrast and color balance. I am very happy with this product and I will be buying more in the future.

I have used a few of these canvas photo papers so far and have been very pleases. I have an 8100 HP all-in-one photo printer and so far no problems and the pictures come out great.

Highly recommend. Also arrived very quickly and in good shape.

After trying an office store brand "printable canvas" my expectations were very low. But this canvas not only printed easily in my standard inkjet photo printer (the office-store variety bunched up and jammed) but the finished product is truly beautiful. The canvas texture is heavy, and gives real dimension to the printed image, and colors are accurate, if a bit softened -which compliments the look of the canvas nicely. I heartily recommend this paper to all the artistic types out there who are looking to add flair to their photos and graphic art!

The HP H470wbt is HP''s answer to the "on the go" printer. If you haven''t read the spec you will see this particular incarnation comes with a battery for on the road use. The battery is charged while on the printer much like a laptop.

The overall quality of print is passable but not top of the line nor a good choice if you want nice photo-quality prints.

However, if you need to print normal text or perhaps a page from the internet, it does fine. The pages come out at a fair pace (better than one would expect from a small printer) and the quality is acceptable.

The footprint is relatively small and if you plan to carry around with you, expect to use something like a backpack or camera style backpack for your laptop and the printer.

The blue tooth that comes with it works well enough. Just remember to install the blue tooth drivers then deal with Windows itself (in that order).

The one real caveat relates to small printer small ink cartridges. One has to realize to keep this unit small and consume little power, the cartridges are on the small side. Fortunately, they are easily found at various merchants and not an odd special cartridge(s). There is the option to get slightly larger ones but again, the larger ones are also fairly small in output.

Last on the not so good list HP insists on some of their inkjets to use flimsy mechanisms for housing the ink cartridges. In this case they have some "wires" bent to work with the install assembly of the cartridges. This is asking for trouble sooner or later.

I have not ran enough paper through to experience any paper feed problems and thus, cannot comment on this. This is an important part and as those who have had laser printers and inkjets know this can be a problem that occurs over time.

Overall the unit is passable and in some respect very nice. I give it three stars rather than four because of the ink install assembly. The blue tooth, compactness, reasonable output are all to be appreciated.

Set up easily bluetooth has about a 15 foot range the wifi is probably multi-room with a longer range. The printer takes up less space than most wired printers but isn''t all that small. It''s a lttle bulky and heavy for carrying around but the print quality is fine. Cost is a major drawback but if you want a small bluetooth or wifi, this is the way to go until something smaller and/or cheaper is available.

The HP H470wbt Officejet Mobile Printer is a life saver. I am a commercial investment real estate broker and often need to redraft documents I carry the unit in my truck. One day recently I needed to redraft a document prior to the buyer leaving the country for a month, so I fired up the HP inserted paper and "viola" new documents. The color is good the black and white is nearly laser quality, the footprint is small and it''s easy to connect and use. I highly recommend this unit for small jobs and road warriors who need print capability is a small package.

Want HP H470wbt Officejet Mobile Printer Discount?

I needed a small mobile printer suitable for taking to Court and setting up right at the counsel table. This way, when a judge wants to read a case, or receive a short pleading, we can bang it out right away rather than have some poor devil from my office hop in a car to drive it over to us as in former times. Also, since this printer is color, we can occasionally use it to knock out a photo or whatnot as an exhibit when needed. The fact that it has a pretty beefy battery adds to the versatility of this nice accessory.

My H470wbt installed automatically and effortlessly on my Windows Vista notebook computer. It downloaded both the device driver and an update to the driver without prompting me one single time. It simply went about its business efficiently and unobtrusively. In fact, that is pretty much the theme of this friendly little device. It simply works and works well. It is very quiet too, so you won''t draw any complaints from even the crankiest host.

The unit comes with a snappy leather case for transporting to and from Court or wherever.

The unit is intuitive enough that I have yet to crack the manual, although if/when I utilize its bluetooth capacity I suppose I will need to do that.

HP has produced a winner. Highly recommended

Good things about this printer :

Print Quality : I''ve printed lots of graphics and photos from my PDA. They all look very good. Documents print quickly.

Interfaces : The printer comes with a BlueTooth adapter. This works well, plug it in and go. If you want wireless printing, the WiFi adapter costs about $90. I spent a decent amount of time with HP tech support getting my wireless configured. I think this could''ve been done better but tech support was very good. There is also a USB cable, printing from a laptop via USB works well. *Note: You cannot use WiFi and BlueTooth at the same time each requires an adapter and there is only one slot available for the adapters.

Portability : It''s light weight for a color printer, but it''s still heavy enough that I wouldn''t want to carry it far. It comes with a nice leather case that fits snugly on the printer.

Battery : the printer also comes with a rechargeable battery. I have not used it much. It fits into the back of the unit and does not stick out very far. If you are on the road a lot, this would be very convenient.

HP Solutions Center : This comes on the start up CD. It is a pain. Whenever you turn on your computer, it will take forever to start up because the HP software ties up your processor accessing your internet looking for updates. I went into start up processes on my PC and turned it off. It''s a bit slow starting up now.
