Pantone Plus Series COLOR BRIDGE Guide Coated

Pantone Plus Series COLOR BRIDGE Guide Coated
  • 224 new colors
  • 1,341 PANTONE Colors
  • Chromatically arranged portable fan guide format
  • Process matches with CMYK screen tint percentages displayed next to each solid color
  • sRGB and HTML values for solid colors

This year Pantone went with a much lighter (thinner) paper stock, and the base color of the paper is much bluer than previous years. When you lay the page over a Press Sheet (or anything else), you can see right through the paper, which makes matching more difficult than it was before. Another problem is the colors in the new book do not go numerically. They go by color group. What does this mean? It means you need to know which color the number is you''re looking up, fan the book out, pick the section (ie: light green), and then hunt for the number. Frankly, it''s stupid. We update our PMS books every 2 years. All of my Pressmen have put these aside, and are using the old books.

I agree with "Graphics Company Owner". The previous editions were on better and more robust paper stock. Also, the re-arrangement according to "color group" has not helped. This is a radical change from previous editions which went according to Pantone Numbers. Our guys have been using Pantone Guides for over 15 years, and are used to the numerical arrangement. They are finding it difficult to adapt. Hopefully it will not take too long......

The bridge fact is very helpful and great. I always which that their books were better organized so that their numbers were a lot easier to find. However, the product it self is so cheap and fragile. The paper is very thin, almost translucent, and the actual printing of the colors is so weak that it looks like printed from an ink jet printer were you can see the grains. Very. Disappointed from an expensive product that only has it''s prestige left.

It''s not exactly what I wanted.

But it''s my fault not knowing which pantone product is what I wanted, too complicated.

because of "CMYK" and "printing" I bought this.

Hever, too many colors number starting with "P..." which I still do not know what they represent....

This is exactly what I needed and was glad I was able to purchase it at a great price through Amazon. Wouldn''t shop anywhere else!

Epson PictureMate Snap 4x6 Photo Printer

Epson PictureMate Snap 4x6 Photo Printer
  • Print a brilliant 4x6 photo in as fast as 45 seconds* with vibrant color and amazing detail.
  • With a 2.5" LCD, easily crop and enhance photos, remove red eye and much more -- no computer needed!
  • Beautiful glossy or matte prints last generations longer than traditional film-processed photos.
  • Enjoy smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant prints you''ll be proud to share.
  • Print stacks of lab quality photos at an everyday low price -- it''s an unbeatable value for superior photos

I just puchased the PictureMate Flash which is the same as the Snap except it has a built in CD burner. After corresponding with Epson I will probably be returning the Flash. According to Epson Web Support the new PictureMates have gone back to using dye based inks and use 4 color inks. I quote from Mark A of the Epson Connection "The new PictureMates, which includes the Flash all use dye based inks and are four color".

Epson now advertises about the prints from the new PictureMates in the following way "Best of all, prints from PictureMate Snap will last generations, and longer than traditional, film-processed photos. Each print is smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant for convenient, worry free handling."

Whereas the replaced PictureMate Deluxe used 6 color inks that according to Epson are "Then, print using superior 6-color archival pigment inks, for photos that will stay brilliant for years longer than any other digital printing option. In fact, they outlast traditional film-processed photos as much as 2-4 times longer. And, they last longer than prints from other dedicated 4" x 6" photo printers by as much as 25 times¹. All this, and they''re even water and smudge-proof for worry-free handling."

In short the older PictureMate Deluxe used 6 color pigment ink that is "water and smudge-proof for worry-free handling" while the new PictureMates use 4 dye inks which are "smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant for convenient, worry free handling".

The older PictureMate prints are claimed to be "water and smudge-proof" the new PictureMate prints are "smudge.. and water resistant".

Is this a big deal, I think it is. If your like me, I like to display my pictures on the refrigerator and show them around at the dinner table when we go out to eat. No longer are the pictures water proof and dye inks fade quicker in the sunlight then do pigmented inks.

In the past when Epson printers were the only pigmented ink 4X6" photo printers I would recommend them hands down over the dye ink printers because of the permanence of the prints, now Epson has gone back to dye inks and 4 colors. I would check out other manufactures before buying an Epson portable snap shot printer because many of the other manufactures offer more conveniences such as printing both 5"X7" and 4"X6" and now offer as good if not better picture quality.

The PicureMate Deluxe as of today December 15, 2006 is still offered by Epson on line with an instant rebate bringing the price to $89.99 an excellant buy for an excellant printer.

The Epson PictureMate Deluxe with its 6 pigmented inks produced great color long lasting sharp prints. My wife loves the simplicity and ease of use and the GREAT pictures the PictureMate Deluxe produces. If you want great prints that won''t fade easily in daylight get one of the PictureMate Deluxes before they are gone.

In favor of the new PictureMate Snap and Flash they are said to have the ability to take red eye out without using a computer, a nice feature if you are using your flash on a point and shoot camera to take pictures.

I have not tested this feature on my new Flash and it would be interesting to know if anyone has experience using the red eye removal feature.

I have given the new PictureMates a 3 rating because I now find them to be on average with other comparable printers, unlike the predecessor PictureMate Deluxe which I would rate as a 5 because its pigmented ink was far superior over other manufactures using dye inks.

I''ve had this printer for almost a month and just love it. I''ve already printed over 130 photos on it and they look great. The things I like about this printer are:

-small & light (I took it to my parents one day and printed out photos we took right there and then for them.)

-can print 3 ways: directly from printer with memory card, by attaching the camera to it or hooking up the printer to the computer

-great quality prints

-allows you to add borders and print wallet size photos

-print packs come with paper and ink so you are not running out of one or the other

This is a great printer for scrapbookers since you can print the photos you need right away. I use it to print pictures of my son that I send to family and friends.

The only negative experience I had with this printer was after I used the intial cartridge that came with it and replaced it with a new one. The first few pictures I printed came out with lines so I had to clean the print heads. I ended up having to clean them 3 times in a row before it started printing correctly. I was a little disappointed since at that time I had only used it for 2 days and printed about 20 photos on it. I haven''t had any issues since and I''ve printed quite a bit on it and plan to do alot more. This is a great little printer that prints excellent quality prints.

It is easy to use and produces good output but it has one fault that may be a deal killer for some. It does not recognize SD cards of over 1 GB. I thought it was DOA when it wouldn''t recognize my SD card, so I called Tech Support. They said that that''s just the way it is. This "feature" wasn''t mentioned in any reviews or writeups. Who wants to limit themselves to 1 GB cards anymore? I won''t return it because who knows what undocumented "features" the competition has but I''m not real happy!

While technology usually improves while getting cheaper Epson manages to degrade their product line. Currently Amazon makes Epson''s previous model available, and it costs less. The previous model, titled PictureMate Deluxe uses a more complex ink system and the prints last longer. The current unit makes decent prints, but sadly, they are inferior to the discontinued line. This is a great product, in all forms, but while Epson has been busy finding ways to cheapen their product, the competition is printing 5x7''s. Why has Epson gone backwards?

I am a digital photo junkie in addition to taking tons of photos I use several programs to edit them before I print. The problem I have is that the ones I end up printing are for special projects or large format, and I don''t have many regular 4x6 photos around. My older Epson Stylus Photo R300 prints great photos, but just takes too long to be printing out 4x6''s for photo albums. In the end I have literally thousands of pictures that just sit on my hard drive.

Then along comes this PictureMate Snap that I just received for my birthday. It''s perfect for those everyday pictures! Just pop in the disk, select the photos and press print.. out come high quality prints in a Snap! No computer no software needed completely portable. It''s like turning my digital camera into a Polaroid.

I was doubly impressed with the extra features on it, not only a viewer but the ability to zoom, crop, red-eye, add borders, turn to BW or Sepia with a few button clicks. It has a handle for carrying and is very lightweight.

I don''t plan to use this with my computer since I have two other Epson printers already. I would highly recommend this for anyone with a digital camera. The only drawback I found so far is that the print packs are hard to find in local stores, and you''ll want to get one right away because the supplied pack will only print about 20 photos. I expect that the longer the Snap is on the market, the easier the packs will be to find. I like that they come with paper and ink for a set number of photos.

Overall a great product!

Printing and copying up to 20 pages per minute, the Samsung SCX-3405W provides you with high quality results with a printing resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. The setup is fairly straightforward. You do need to use the USB cable to set up the wireless but after that it prints nice and fast and connects on the network with ease. Drawback is that it would have been nice if it had a paper cartridge to tidy up the space it takes. So far though I''d have to say it works well and appears to be very economical for home and small office use. One other drawback is its scanning software is well terrible as well as it''s documentation. I guess they figured you''ll learn by trial and error? 3 stars.

Canon CD-50IP Paper Ink Set for CD-200 Printer

Canon CD-50IP Paper Ink Set for CD-200 Printer
  • Post card kit
  • Compatible with Canon CD-200 dye-sublimation printer
  • 50 sheets and ink cassette included

I''ve owned the Canon CD-200 dye-sub printer for over 2-years. It''s a great little "work horse" of a printer. Well designed, easy to use and relatively quick (takes about 2 minutes for a print). I own a photography studio in Oregon and use an Olympus E-10 digital camera for most of my photography sessions. I make 4"x5" prints to put in folios for my clients. The Canon print retains much more detail than one made on an inkjet printer. At $.60 per print, this is a real bargain machine.

There are no drivers for the Canon CD-200 for XP users. Here is a work-around.

Resize any .jpg image on your computer to less than 1 meg. Rotate the picture to landscape mode. Save the picture to a compact flash card. (The file size should be less than 400k).

Place the compact flash card into the CD-200 CF card slot and make sure that the button on the top of the printer is moved to the "CF Card" position. With the printer on, press the "Auto Print" switch.

This will also work with multiple images that are saved to the card, and will print every image, automatically.

It is not necessary to use a printer cable or monitor. just plug the printer into a power source.

Finally, a solution... Now I''ll start to stock up on paper... again. :)

Computer Calling Kit for Sound STATION2 with LCD & Voicestation 500

Computer Calling Kit for Sound STATION2 with LCD & Voicestation 500
  • ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE USA

After purchasing the Polycom SoundStation 2 (Non Expandable) (2200-16000-001), I purchased the Computer Calling Kit from another vendor that Polycom linked to, that appeared to be the correct cable. Unknown to me at the time, was that there are TWO calling kits each for different phone models (see ).

The cable that almost everyone is selling, on Amazon and elsewhere, is the 2200-07878-001 (labeled 2457-17240-001), and it DOES NOT WORK with the SoundStation2 (see ).

I was about to give up and return the phone to purchase an inferior model that comes with the computer calling kit bundled, when I finally found this item. Though the cables look exactly the same externally, once I plugged it into my SoundStation2, I was finally able to use it as both speaker AND microphone for Skype calling.

THANK YOU! I have no idea why nobody else sells this cable, but you''ve saved me by having it!

Sony (SVM-F120P/2) Photo Printer Paper 120 sheets

Sony Photo Printer Paper 120 sheets
  • Super Coat 2 protective lamination
  • 4 x 6" paper with snap-off edges for bordered or borderless prints
  • Water damage and fingerprint resistant
  • Paper and print ribbon included

With free shipping, a very good value for dye-sublimation photopaper for the Sony DPP-F or DPP-FP series of photo printers. The box includes six 20-sheet paper packs and two 60-sheet ink film cartridges. Thus, you get the print paper and ink for exactly 120 4x6 inch prints. The older SVM-F120P box gave you three 40-sheet ink film cartridges. Since this retail box has two ink film cartridges instead of three, this box is smaller and takes up less storage space for the same number of prints. The 20-sheet paper pack is exactly the right number of sheets for the Sony printer input tray. This solves the annoying problem with the non-compatible Sony DPP-EX series of printers whereby the number of sheets in a paper pack was more than would fit in the input tray.

Prints come out a bit sharper than with the Sony DPP-EX series. Also, the colors are more realistic, though the older Sony DPP-EX photo prints did have pleasing color. The printing process places "SuperCoat 2" on the finished prints, so they are waterproof.

  • Take advantage of one-step operation and easily scan a variety of objects, documents, and images
  • Capture images of 3D objects, then use an app to post directly to popular auction sites

Was looking for a scanning, copying, color laserjet which was not so large it would take over my entire desk. This one fit the bill as did not care to fax as rarely do that for personal reasons.

The pros

easy to set up if have basic computer skills, good quality printing and wireless printing, small footprint as less than 14 inches with arm down..

The cons-

Limited instructions on how to set up as only a one page graphic piece which was not useful.

Scanner is not your normal scanner as it is an arm that supposedly allows for 3d scanning which is little more than a picture. Regular scanning is done same way as the raised arm just take a picture against the white background so product is not as good as even a cheap scanner.

So if looking for a multi purpose good printer and do not care to get expert quality scans/copies this one works. If have space go for one of the machines with a proper scanner or get a scanner and printer separately.

We bought this printer for our organization and we have a fairly old computer. Whenever I send a color pdf document it takes 3-4 minutes for the printer to start printing. It prints only 1 page every 1.5-2 minutes which is ridiculous; it waits for about a minute after printing each page. I print 30 pages in literally 45-50 minutes. Black and white printing is fast, no problem with that. Quality is awesome too, both color and b&w is really good. But I would suggest you to avoid this printer if you plan to print in color in relatively short amount of times, this printer will fail you terribly in that.

The 3D object scanner is bogus. A "genuine" hp ink set costs over $200. Cheaper aftermarket inks don''t work. There are better printers out there. Don''t bother with this one.

All these people that complained about the printer have failed to tell us what computer they are printing from. THAT is going to be a very important piece of information to validate your complaint. It does NOT mean, because you are printing from a junked up computer that the printer is slow. How about checking your computer and cleaning up your computer??? Could that just possibly be the problem??

Just a thought. This is what I see when customers bring in computers. Almost always junked up and that is why they bring them in for repair. They wonder why things are slow. Oh ... also maybe you have 2 or 3 virus protection software running ALSO?

Please do not complain about a product that depends on another product to operate!!!

Thank you very much.
