I ordered this product (a set of four printer cartridges for my Epson printer.) I inserted them hoping that it would work. Alas, it did not as there were streaks in my color pictures and my B&W letters. I had assumed that these rebuilt cartridges would not work. The original cartridges would cost me about $60-70 dollars depending on the source. There is a huge difference between $70 and $14 (shipping included for these cartridges) I contacted the seller and it took a few hours for them to respond to my email (no telephone contact.) They advised me to insert all the cartridges at one time (pushing them in at the same time.) That did the trick. Now they print pretty well. The colors are not as crisp, but the B&W prints are just fine. I can also live with slightly lower quality color for my prints. Thus, I am reasonably content with my purchase.

I ordered a set of 4: black + colors. ZERO out of 4 worked! repeated head cleaning rapidly depleted the ink, but still wouldn''t print. By the time I installed return time had passed so I just threw them in trash.

I was really leery about buying this product, because of the low cost, but i have had it for about one month, and I print everyday, the print is flawless, i,m very satisfied with this and I will be placing another order soon!!!!!

Great price / great servive. Came fast.I was spending 53.00 for ink at best buy and staples.I am saving a lot of money by buying through amazon

So far, it prints just as well as the name brand. You do have to "allow" your printer to use the product that is not the genuine name brand, but I was able to do it through a series of automatic command prompts. Would definitely buy again and recommend.

Sharp UX-B750 Inkjet Fax

Sharp UX-B750 Inkjet Fax
  • A convenient communications tool for a range of personal and home office applications, the new Fax UX-B750 is a compact, stylish Inkjet plain-paper fax with an unobtrusive footprint that works well in typical home or home office environments. Special attention to compatibility with home telephone usage lets it switch seamlessly between fax and telephone modes, allowing customers to receive fax and voice calls on a single line.
  • The latest in a generation of fax machines that are ideal for small business or office workgroups.

I''ve used this machine basically for faxing items out. I didn''t need anything too fancy or too complicated. This unit actually has more involved functions that I don''t need but I purchased it cause the price was right. So far so good, setup was simple, it is extremely lightweight (I kind of worried about this as my past fax was at least 3times heavier). Uses standard copier paper (thank goodness), fax is very quiet and scans pages quickly. It also has a hand-set if you need to make a regular phone call from it. I haven''t received incoming faxes on it yet but if a problem arises, I will be sure to post additional feedback.

Overall, a nice fax. Setup was fairly easy, some of the features I''m still trying to figure out however. My old one was easier, but I''d had that for about a dozen years & knew it pretty well. No serious complaints about the new one so far !!

fax was cheap, but I didn`t realize it came without ink, which cost more than the fax is worth. So it is just more trash.

We love this fax machine. We had little space, so the size is perfect. The performance is very efficient for our small volume.

So easy to use. The printing results are so clear.

Don''t really need a full-time fax, but I told myself if I came upon one more transaction where I could use a fax machine I would buy one. The machine was larger and bulkier than I expected or wanted but it did what it was supposed to.

Using plain paper it sent faxes quickly and clearly, made nice copies and printed faxes just fine. The manual was bursting with things it could do but...meh, not interested. I sent maybe 7 pages, received 2 and copied 2 then it ran out of ink! No pictures, no colors just plain text; I never got the low ink warning, just 11 lousy pages and wham NO INK. Given the generous amount of ink I got on my hands the cartridge was NOT empty. The replacement is about $30. What a rip-off. At 11 pages per cartridge, this thing could cost a thousand dollars in a few years!!

I speak about this machine in the past tense because it is currently sitting in the yard under a pile of dirt and leaves. It refused to take any of the similar-looking ink cartridges I had around the house, so I murdered it. Not so Sharp now, are you?

Love the printer. I have used many other brands and result with problems after one year. The key is the printer head. If it goes bad, just buy another printer because the price of the new printer head will cost almost another brand new printer. Believe me, I went throught many All-in-One printer in the range of $130.00 to $170.00. Lexmark is kind of different and very easy to be use.

This printer is a waste! It looks good but the quality is horrible. It''s loud and slow, especially the fax. Lexmark printers are poorly manufactured. After trying to get my last one repaired I found out from a Lexmark customer service rep that most printers don''t last much more than 12 months. And instead of repairing them they just replace the printer. That should give you an idea of the quality. If you buy this make sure you get the 3 year warranty because you''ll need it!

I''ve had this Lexmark product for oh about 4 years now and other than running out of black ink alot since I print alot of things for work, it has run perfectly for me. I would re buy this in an instant if I needed to.

Its strange that a printer made for printing photos does not have a working MAC software. The Beta software sucks and I have to turn the printer on and off again every single time I want o print a freaking photo...

Inkjet Printable Temporary Tattoo Paper 5 Sheets

  • This removable tattoo paper is for inkjet printers, these tattoos are easy and fun to use and the creative possibilities are endless!
  • 5 Sheets8.5"x 11"
  • New Technology 100% Compatible with Inkjet

Printer: Lexmark

Reason for purchase: Looking for a good temporary tattoo brand that I could use to create my own designs to sell at art shows.

I purchased 3 brands of temporary tattoos and this one was the best out of them all. With regular washing my test tattoo, for this brand, stayed on about 5 days. Later, after reading some tips online, I found that my tattoo would have remained perfect and not become blurred if I hadn''t scrubbed the tattoo area.

For me it didn''t give me a super glossy finish. It was more of a mild finish which allowed it to look more realistic.

Liked most: That not only did the product come in a resealable bag, but you could tell between the adhesive paper from the waterslide paper. The adhesive had graphing lines on them; which was great because if I only wanted to use half a page I didn''t have to estimate where to cut. Also removeable was a snap! A lil rubbing alcohol and in less than a min it was gone.

FInally two of us made it work. The problem was the decal paper was one sheet, not two with one to peel off. We watched the recommended video over and over and saw the person peeling back another sheet of paper that we did not have. The contact paper had 2 layers and that worked fine. No directions were included, just a link to a video. The product is a good one, though.

Held on pretty strong, but looked fake because they''re shiny/glossy on the skin. Sweat started to make it bubble by the end of the night, but took some serious scrubbing (skin raw) to remove when it started to look too grody (picks up dirt over a day or two too)

But that being said, was a great way to test out tentative tattoo ideas, and in a club/bar I doubt anyone could tell they weren''t real!

Using and printing on this product was fairly easy although adding the sticky material to the tattoo printout was not too easily achieved.Further the material that makes the tattoo design stick to your skin is super, super thick and shiny when applied to your skin. The design will last for sure but it is extremely uncomfortable to have on your skin. It feels like a see through bandaid when applied and crinkles with the movement of your skin. Not at all comfortable to wear!!!

The company shipped thus so quick, I was thankful for that. And it was super easy to print on the paper. But the sticky part rips up the image if you aren''t careful, and it crinkles on your skin. It takes everything in your power to get them to stick to your skin, but once it''s on there, it is so difficult to get off. I had almost a carpet burn from trying to get one off only 6 hours later.

  • Heavy duty cycle, up to 83,000 pages per month; automatic 2-sided printing

I purchased this printer new from Xerox seven years ago in 2005. I print everything from single sheets to several thousand pages at a time for my consulting practice, mostly printing business graphics such as process maps. I also produce a tabloid-sized newspaper for a non-profit organization where I am a director.

This printer has never had a breakdown, it prints quickly, and I get consistent compliments about the color and quality of prints.

I also have a second, Xerox solid ink printer for letter-size prints only. While I think the solid ink printer provides slightly better image quality, the solid ink supplies are much, much more expensive. I can go through $300 worth of ink supplies on the solid ink printer in a weekend for one good sized job. It takes me a couple of years to spend that much on ink supplies for this printer, and I use only Xerox authentic toner cartridges purchased new. They seem to last forever. People are very impressed by tabloid-sized color prints, and this printer has allowed me to create them very economically.

While this 7300DN printer is a bit noisy, I like that I can turn it on when I need it and then turn it off again. When it is sitting idle, it does not use power or ink like the solid ink printer does.

A cool feature of this printer is that all operating parts are designed to be replaced after a lengthy service period and are easily replaceable. As a result, the longevity of the printer is renewable by design. As long as Xerox keeps manufacturing supplies and parts, I think it will go on and on.

Never in my life have I ever experienced a printer such as this, but then maybe I haven''t been around enough printers. This thing couldn''t print "Hello World" without it skipping, jamming, smearing, not fusing, hesitating, whathaveyou. Granted, when this printer does work, it does give out excellent color but this is roughly 10% of the time. The rest of the 90% is trying to get the printer to actually print something. I now have a new fuser and all new toner cards in this printer and it still jams about ever 50 pages. Also once something goes low, all of this is multiplied by 10. That is, successful printing goes down drastically and most of the time or you either reseting the printer or just buying replacement items for the printer. When the fuser goes below 40%, best just to get a new fuser which is literally a ripoff! These fusers are supposed to get 70,000 pages, but in reality they get about 45,000, just a little over half. And nothing is cheap when it comes to these babies. Every item is between $170 to $200 dollars and includes the toner by the way. (well if you get high capacity, but why get anything else?) Bottom line, unless you are printer mechanic by trade and are Xerox Phaser certified, there is absolutely no reason to buy this Phaser, period! I cannot stress this point enough. Do not buy this unless you are know what you are getting into with it. You will be incredibly frustrated by it.

Oh by the way, in typing this, I have cleared 5 jams already, and I type fast too. :(

I purchased one of these printers brand new some years ago. It has been a flawless performer. The only trouble I had is when I tried some generic toner refills; as long as I use genuine Xerox refills it works great. Printing speed is fast. Registration is so good that I have printed business cards that are indistinguishable from offset printed ones.

We use it for all high volume and high quality printing purposes, from including brochures and full color postcards.

Setup was a breeze. I plugged in the power cord and the Cat-5 cable, and after a few minutes of whirring and clicking, it told me what my network was, what it registered itself as, and was in all respects ready to print. Quite a change from the HP 8500DN it replaced.

I give 4 stars instead of 5 because:

(1) Toner cartridges are expensive. They will last a long time, as long as you recognize that this is a workgroup printer. By that I mean it uses up some toner in "overhead" every time it powers up, so it''s not something you fire off one sheet to every now and then like an inkjet. But when I want to crank out 10 sets of handouts for a presentation my 7300 is a champ.

(2) I get grey ghosting on what should be whitespace, when printing on shiny enamel papers. I''m told this is an outgrowth of exposing the transfer unit to light, and this is consistent with my experience as I''ve replaced transfer units over the years. Apparently light exposure, even though I''m careful to avoid it, leads to a slight static charge which on glossy paper puts a slight grey shadow on the paper. It''s not a serious problem; someone who''s not a professional printer probably wouldn''t notice it.

In summary, it does everything I expect it to, and more, and if I had it to do over I would buy one again.

We purchased this printer through Amazon (love Amazon!)The printer arrived and we set it up on a windows machine running win 7. It should be noted that this is advertised as a USB printer ----However it only comes with a parallel printer cable. So you will need to go out and purchase your own USB cable to use this as a USB printer!

The set-up was fairly easy, however the font size was too large for the paper and the margins needed adjusting. This should be a fairly simple adjustment. I am very technically savvy however, there is no documentation as to how to do this. The web site has numerous post with others asking this same support question. Bixolon does not answer these repeated requests. When you call their tech support line you are only given a voice mail. After two weeks of leaving messages both online and through their US office telephone we have received no response. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Luckily we purchased through Amazon so we are now returning this unusable printer.

After a reload of the OS, my old HP laser was no longer compatible with my Mac computer, so I went looking for a color laser that did duplex printing (trying to be a bit green). My use is at home for personal as well as some business printing.

The set up was easy and the instructions clear. Printing in B&W single sided is fast and of high quality. I find the color printing to be a bit muted and not photo-like, but still acceptable. The biggest negative is the duplex printing. It works, but... When I select two-sided printing, it takes forever to print. It is so slow that I have given up using it completely. As I was hurrying out of the house on a road trip, I tried to print a Google map in duplex, and it took so long I simply left the house without the map. I don''t know what is going on inside, but this is so bad I''m shocked it ever was released.

Once I ignore duplex printing, and treat it like a nice feature I will rarely if ever use, then I am generally satisfied with the printer and recommend it for the price.

I''ve had this printer for over a year in my workplace, and it has been excellent for everything except printing envelopes. This is our networked printer, so our 5-person office all use it. We do a lot of printing and a lot of it is graphical and colorful.

When it comes to printing a single envelope, it jams the printer. We get around that by printing labels instead or using a different network printer to do envelopes. It was out of warranty when I discovered the issue; I wonder if it was a manufacturer''s defect in our machine (and may not be a problem in most machines.)

Print speed is very fast (it just takes about 15 seconds to warm up before first page out, then easily prints text only at 30 pages per minute (ppm)). It takes a long time to print graphics-heavy PowerPoint presentations, but if you''re printing multiple copies of a presentation, the first print is very slow and subsequent copies are quicker. Color graphics are excellent and crisp, and so is black text.

I would recommend this printer as long as you don''t need to print envelopes.

I replaced an aging tank-like Konica-Minolta color laser which never worked right and cost a fortune to maintain. This printer has worked fine with Mac OSX in a wireless Airport Express environment for two years. It did have a failed power supply for the fuser which gave error messages. It was fixed in home for free. I have been pleased with the cost of replacement cartridges. They seem to last longer than my former color laser and cost less than half to replace. You are replacing toner only, not an entire roller assembly. The toner is available everywhere. It is not fast at start-up nor when printing Adobe PDF''s. I upgraded memory and added a second paper drawer. For some reason when the paper runs out on the top drawer, it does not automatically shift to the next drawer as other printers do. Maybe this is a software issue that I have not found.

Pros: Less expensive toner replacement than others; Has worked with Mac OSX; Has a single feed slot; compact.

Cons: Slow start-up time. Duplexing feature is external-you need to remove each page as it is processed so that the multiple pages do not get drawn back into the unit and jam. If you do a lot of duplexing, look elsewhere; does not automatically switch paper drawers when empty.

I was very impressed with the speed and quality of the color printing when using the standard page sizes. However, when I added the 650 page add on tray in order to get the statement sized paper feeder, (5.5" X 8.5"), the printing slows down to about 8 10 ppm. I have been in contact with Lexmark regarding this issue, nothing that I have tried has helped the speed, and I have the feeling that this is simply the best it will do. I still think it is the best printer for the money, but if a business expected to use the statement feeder for volumes of printing, they would be quite disappointed.

I would love to give this a 5-star review from the start, but because of the setup and early operation problems I had I just can''t. I do wonder if some of the problems might be attributed to Amazon--no proof of that!--but I do suspect I got a slightly used printer, perhaps one of those returned by the dismayed fellow reviewing below.

First problem out of the box: No printer cable. All documentation in their manual say a cable should have been included. But the cable from my inkjet worked on it, a standard printer cable, so that wasn''t a big problem for me.

Setup was easy, following along their included instructions. I did wonder at the amount of toner powder inside the printer at various points (one thing that made me think it might have been a bit used). All set up, with printer drivers installed and... nothing. Didn''t work.

Call to tech support, about a 10 minute wait time. Be prepared for a tech support call--get a flashlight, screwdriver (Phillips), lens cleaning cloth, paper towels, a flat clean surface to place big components, and magnifying glass or reading glasses if needed for close, small, fine work.

The first problem, the total non-op, was fixed by removing a back plate and reseating some cables. Then it printed. Second problem was "voids" in the black portion of the printing (color was fine). These were invisible lines running the full length of the page. Online help suggestions first recommendation was a new toner cartridge. Well, I wasn''t going to waste a full, very expensive toner cartridge, so was able to reformat my (rush) print job to get around the voids and did a huge print job. After that, with the new toner cartridge not fixing the problem, another session with tech support had me take the printer apart again and clean a glass strip which had gobs of toner obscuring it.

Super! Now the printer reaches the 5-star portion of its review.

With everything working as it ought, this printer is dazzlingly, deliciously fast. Color and/or black and white, the pages fly out. I did a two-sided 900 page print job in a matter of hours. That''s about 3600 printed sheets. When asked how long this would have taken with the inkjet, I answered, "Does that include the five trips to Walmart to get more ink cartridges?"

And the quality is stunning. The colors are gorgeously saturated, the lines sharp. None of the wet ink or moisture problems of an inkjet. The pages look fabulous.

The black toner cartridge that comes with the printer printed well past its maximum total number of pages. The second black toner cartridge started to say "low" _before_ it''s maximum number of pages. One downside--once it says a cartridge is "low", do not shut the printer off! It printed perfectly for hundreds of pages after it said it was low, but shutting it off overnight apparently sent it to "empty" and it refused to print any more.

The duplexer... it''s fast. It works well. It never jammed. But, oh my goodness, what a mess it made spewing papers all over the place. If you have any duplex job over 10 pages or so, especially if you want it collated, you''re better off doing one side at at time, flipping them and sending them back through for side two. The output pages stay reasonably neat on single-sided but are a mess duplexed.

Only about 100 pages at a time in the standard paper tray. I''m uncertain of the larger paper tray because of the mess it would make in the output tray. More than 50 or so sheets in the output tray and they start falling on the floor.

This printer is said to be an "Energy Star" printer. That''s just funny. My office lights dim when this power sponge prints.

So, a three-star review for a five-star printer that I (now) love.

**Added the additional memory--easy to do, took off the same back plate (6 screws) I had to take off to reseat the cables to make it work in the first place. Stick the memory in. Printer recognized it immediately. Here''s the odd part, though, it seems *slower* with the added memory! Printing is just as fast but the wait time until the printing starts seems a bit longer. I have not tried a huge, complex print job yet, however, so that may be where the added memory pays off. BIG CATCH: The added memory for this printer from any "official" source was about $600. We paid $30 for the same new memory card. Shop around and don''t overpay!

**Added the large second paper tray. So far so good. Installation is nothing--just set the printer on top of the added paper tray. A couple experiments on the computer with tray selection and it worked perfectly.

I just recieved my scanner and am very pleased with it. I spent about 4 hours total scanning in over 1,000 4x6 photos. It took less 30 seconds per photo and it did not scratch any of my photos even without the special photo holder that came with it to scan them.

I have not yet scanned any documents, as I bought this primarily to scan photos. I like how small and compact it is and I could sit anywhere to scan a stack of photos. Excellent buy and would recommend it to a friend.

I will add if you photo is being scanned vertically or is smalled than 4x6, it scans with an odd line down the side (which I assume could be prevented if you use the photo scanner holder thingy!), but I just cropped out the extra in my photo editing program.

This is a piece of junk. If the paper is too thin or too soft the feeder will not detect the paper.

I bought this when I realized that between tax, work, and home I had piles of papers that were completely disorganized and taking up space. I took me one evening to scan all the documents from the past six years. The quality turned out very well, even for longer than standard pieces of paper. My property tax statements would be too long to fit on a normal flatbed scanner, this scanner handled them perfectly. The preview screen is small but gives a reasonable view of what was scanned to see if it came out okay.

I haven''t used this scanner for anything but text documents. I have no idea if it works well with pictures.

This unit died after 6 months and very little use. It will not power on. I called customer service and discovered that the warranty period is a whopping 90 days. I was extremely disappointed in this product. Stay away!

I use this to scan documents and receipts. As best I can tell, this scanner is not capable of scanning directly to a PC, but you can hook it to a PC to transfer the images off the SD card after you''re done scanning. I use it mainly with an Eye-Fi SD card to automatically transfer scanned documents to my Android tablet over WiFi. If you''re looking to scan documents on the go without a PC this is exactly what you need.

I have used an Epson for several years, being loyal to the brand, but have grown intolerant of the printing quality. No matter how much I calibrated the printer, I still go blue streaks everywhere for normal printing. Very frustrating.

''

The PIXMA MP280 has satisfied that need. It comes with a bunch of bells and whistles, but I was looking for something I would use every day to print, scan and copy, something to replace my Epson printer and Epson scanner (two separate components). This fit that need very well.

The price would lead you to believe that its quality is not very good. However, unless you''re a photographer or graphic artist who requires really high resolution output onto really good paper, this is a fine addition to the office.

With that said, here are some notes:

First, you need to supply your own USB printer cable for this device. The printer does not come with one. Personally, I find this to be a huge miss. No manufacturer should assume that any customer has all the tools for the job. It''s the same cable I use for my Epson, so I''m fine. This is such an easy way to make it easier on the end user. Therefore, this is a big miss.

SETUP AND INSTALLATION: I''m on a Mac, so setup was complete and I was printing in under 30 minutes. The manual says you need at least 20 minutes for software installation, but mine was installed in less than 10.

OUTPUT: Color printing was satisfactory. Nothing that I could hang on a wall (but I don''t need it.) At standard printing, the color output was insanely slow less than two pages per minute. If you use color printing at the "fast" selection, not much quality is sacrificed, and the printing came out to about four pages per minute. For black and white, the printing was again satisfactory, with about six pages per minute. As a note: In relation to the IPM, the problem with that measurement is that while we all print images, 99% of the time they are still on regular 8.5x11 paper. So the image could be nice, but the paper still has to come out. What I printed above were pdfs, and the color was SLOW.

COPYING: Very easy. One button for color or black and white with satisfactory output. The copier warming up takes longer than the copy itself a total of about 30 seconds.

SCANNING: Again, satisfactory. The DPI is not very high, but this is an everyday scanner. Most of the customers would be people who want to share images on Facebook.

COLOR CARTRIDGES: One of the things I hated about my old Epson was that I had to change out color cartridges about once every two months. I have run several dozen color prints through this and it''s now telling me that I need a color refill. Ugh. So I''m not thrilled that I may face the same situation with this one.

Overall, three stars. This is a solid printer for everyday use, and I like the compact size with the all-in-one features. The lack of a USB printer cable and the fact that it doesn''t do a very good job with color ink consumption keep me from giving this really high marks. But this has a place in a home where it will see a lot of output, perhaps in a home with school-age children or home office.

A good all-in-one, worth the money.

Using a PC, total set up time was about 30 minutes from unpacking to printing the first page. But it started out badly:

There was no USB Printer Cord in box, so if I didn''t have an extra around the house, I wouldn''t have been able to hook this up to my computer. There should have been a note that this would not be in the box, not just an omission of what IS in the box.

Ink cartridge insertion was very easy. I must say, btw, that I have a Canon PIXMA 1P4700 Premium Inkjet Photo Printer, and can easily compare the two. Insertion of the cartridges on the 4700 was very simple as well which is why I was interested in its "baby brother" for just fast, easy, ordinary print.

Color output satisfactory. This printer is made for everyday printing, not hanging museum-quality prints on the wall. Does a nice job. But printing color pages was outrageously slow only about 2 pages per minute. Ugh. The 4700 prints 9600 x 2400 dpi. This MP280 does a max of 4800 x 1200 dpi which may be fine for 4x6 prints, but I print mostly 5x7 and 8x10. The MP280 didn''t do well with larger prints and, judging from the way this one (too) is eating ink, this could be a very expensive process.

Speaking of ink, I continue to be disappointed by ALL manufacturers, but in this case by Canon for not making the cartridges of at least SOME of its printers interchangeable. In addition to buying for my primary 4700, now I have to spend up to $12 a cartridge for the MP280. However, I think that I will buy "after market" ink for this printer since my photographs will continue to be printed on the 4700.

The copying process was very easy one button and you can get color or b/w copies. It takes about 15-20 seconds to make a copy, sometimes an eternity. (The actual printing is about 2 seconds. Waiting for the document to get in the queue is what takes forever.)

Scanning good for everyday needs. If you''re sending a picture over the internet, this works perfectly. If you''re trying to recreate the Mona Lisa, this won''t have the resolution capabilities. (At least, I couldn''t see them)

It would be easy to say you get what you pay for here, since this is a $70 printer, but it''s a little better than that. This combo doesn''t take up much space, and performs nicely for everyday printing/copying/scanning needs. Compared with models out there that easily cost $200 or $300, I think this is worth what MOST people would do with it.

Do NOT buy this printer if your primary purpose is to print photographs. The resolution is less than satisfactory, and you''re stuck with 4x6" prints. Yes, I know that you can print from HD movies using the software, but very few of you will do this or ever use the software. I would suggest that, if you want prints from video, get some high-end software made for the purpose and, if you''re going that far, move up one or two notches in the Canon printer line.

Want Canon PIXMA MP280 Inkjet Photo All-In-One (4498B002) Discount?

The Canon PIXMA MP 280 Inkjet Photo All-in-one is a very reasonably priced multi-functional printer. But it consumes a lot of expensive ink. In fact, a single refill of black and color ink costs more than the printer itself did. The accompanying instructions are well-written and the set-up is very easy. I assume the reason for the low price of the printer is to get customers to buy a lot of very expensive ink. But most printer brands are this way ,and Canon printers are excellent. Buying cheaper generic ink has not been a good idea in my experience since these inks are often incompatible and cause the branded printer to malfunction or not function at all.

This is a surprisingly good combination printer/scanner/copier for the money, and it is an excellent choice for most home users, so I am basing my review and star rating on that basis. It''s very good for printing nice vacation or family pictures or making greeting cards or such. You can do nice borderless prints up to 8.5 x 11 inches. There are more expensive and higher-quality printers available for professionals, but a printer like this is a better choice for casual users.

I was also very happy with the quality when printing a text document. The text appeared very crisp and clear.

The printer is quite lightweight and easy to handle. Setup was quite painless except for the problem of not having a USB cable included in the box. This is so annoying, but Canon is not the only manufacturer guilty of this shortcoming.

Basic usage is fairly intuitive, but I recommend loading the manual from the included CD. It is quite comprehensive, but easy to navigate and understand. This printer has quite a few unexpected features. As one example, although it is easy to scan using the autoscan feature, there are many other settings and options available for scanning, including saving in PDF format and even a rudimentary OCR function to convert scanned text document to editable text.

The copier function also works well for a basic model. Keep in mind that it is limited in size to an original of 8.5 by 11.7 inches. It can reduce or enlarge, but only in set sizes, primarily between full-page size and 4 x 6". At the price of this printer, I was not expecting any reduce/enlarge functions at all, so here I am counting it as a plus, not a minus.

One feature I have not tested, but you might be interested in, involves advanced printing options from the Internet. According to Canon, you can choose what to print when viewing a Web page. That feature is worth investigating if you often print from the Internet. I don''t do that very often, and it requires loading their toolbar (optional, part of the setup process). I''m too cautious to add a toolbar that I won''t use very often, but it sounds like a worthwhile feature to check out if you have the need.

But let the buyer beware of sellers like Pro-Max who charge exorbitant shipping costs (in my case, nearly 6 dollars), and then don''t deliver on time. If you want to buy these labels -and why not? they''re good -just be sure to check out the seller first. I tend to only leave reviews if a product is really great or really bad. This is definitely really bad! After going to Avery''s website to get the template, I had to fight to get things aligned. I finally got it right from side to side, but the template wouldn''t let me adjust the height of the cells, so everything printed at the bottom of the tab, and "y" and "g" went onto the next tab. I also just noticed that the tabs themselves are too tall for the Avery self-adhesive file tabs that I bought to go with them!

All in all, a terrible product with a terrible template. And if you read through all of the Q&A''s on Avery''s website about how to work with this product, all of the answers from an Avery Representative basically say "too bad that''s how it is".

  • Produce affordable studio-quality photos
  • Cherish long-lasting color photos that resist fading for more than 200 years
  • Replace only the cartridges that runs out among eight individual colors

As inks go, this appears to be very good stuff. In fact, they say it''s guaranteed to last 200+ years, although I''m not sure who around me will go ask for a free cartridge if my documents or photos only last 150 years. More to the point, it DOES look great.

On the other hand, these cartridges are around 30 bucks a piece and I need 8, so it rather irks me that the cartridges are so small. Perhaps that''s a comment more appropriate for a review of the printer design, but it''s worth noting here.

Also worth noting is that you SHOULD NOT immediately replace the ink cartridge in your HP B9180 when you get a message from it saying that this or that cartridge is about to run out. I say this because, when mine said that, I checked the little meter that tells you how much is left and it said 40% of the cartridge still had ink in it. 40%! To me, 40% is not "about to run out," but I did go ahead and buy an ink cartridge -I just held onto it until it really became obvious that it was no longer printing that color. Only then did I replace the cartridge, because doing otherwise is needlessly wasting money.

I''m not quite cynical enough to say that HP WANTS you to replace (and recycle) the ink cartridges prematurely, but it obviously would make them more money if you do. Just keep your eyes open and you''ll be fine.

Buy HP 38 Light Gray Pigment Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging Now

Light Grey is the most used ink in my HP B9180. This cartridge has 27ml of ink selling for 27 dollars which is not bad. Canon''s inks are around that price range as well but come in smaller 13ml tanks. Also do check the expiration date of the ink as the chip on the cartridge will yield a warning if the expiration date has been reached. So far expired inks has yield the same result as new inks with no fading for the past year.

If you are cheap like me, buy empty tanks online and refill them with HP''s 70 ink used for the Z2100 printers which comes to be $75/130ml. The HP no.70 tanks use the same inks but in a bigger tank.

Hey Hewlet Packard is a great company with great products. I have a Apollo P-1200 printer and instead of paying 40.00 for this cartridge in stores I pay 31.00 for it here. The cartridges (both color and black last forever so don''t worry about running out of ink with a little heavy printing. I got my printer back in June of 1999 and this is the end of September and it''s nowhere near gone. I have printed over 400 sheets. It''s a good product and a good company. Cartrages never leak ink and there easy to install. Definitely worth the money.

I buy this black ink for my old Apollo P-1200. I have it in a box for a long time. But i need aditionals printers for my post-grade tesis and i print a lot of previews. I try to give my apollo to my childs and i take my deskjet 3200 for real stuff. Its a lot of ink for my kids but a little slow for them. The cartrige comes very good packed and i put inmediatelly in the old printer and after configuring the resolution came to life again.

The only bad point is that the delivery get a lot of hits and when i put out of the package i get spots of ink in my hands, after cleaned was ok.
