Brother HL-5170DN Network Laser Printer

Brother HL-5170DN Network Laser Printer
  • 2,400 x 600 dpi maximum print resolution
  • Up to 21 ppm print speed
  • 133 MHz processor, 32 MB RAM, expandable to 160 MB
  • Automatic duplexing, automatic interface switching
  • Parallel, USB, and Ethernet interfaces; PC, Mac, and Linux compatible

I have to agree with the other review and say that this is a great printer. For about nine months now I have been using this printer in an office where it is networked to 6 PCs. Everyone in the office is pleased with the speed and quality of the print jobs handled by this machine. I also agree that this printer''s main strength is as a "network" printer. It is easily connected to your network and can be left "ready and waiting" all the time.

About the only downside to this thing is that if you haven''t sent a print job in a while (like overnight) it takes the printer a good while to warm up (10-15 seconds). Once it is warmed up though, it really cranks the pages out fast.

If you have a need for a solid quality, networked printer that has some high end print features, this is the machine for you!

We purchased this printer for a home office with both Macs and PCs. This printer has terrific Macintosh OSX support and is easily monitored/controlled using it''s website interface (automatically appears in Safari''s bookmarks toolbar if you turn on the Safari Rendezvous preference). This printer is very fast to warm up and prints the first page in about 10 seconds. I like that it is absolutely silent when in standby mode and wakes/sleeps on its own. My only problem is that I haven''t yet determined if there''s a better way to switching duplex printing on/off other than via the web control panel.

This is a decent printer for what you get. The main feature I use is the network connection. I easily connected it to my network in the other room where it was convenient, and leave it turned on and plugged in all the time. It uses very little power when on standby. Then, when I want to print, I can do it from any machine in the house and very quickly (I think in 10 seconds) it starts churning out the pages.

It has lots of hidden features you have to pay more for with other printers. You can configure it with a web interface. It is postscript/pcl compatible and I think it''ll work with linux if you mess around with it.

I also have a canon inkjet printer which is very good for photos, but I don''t use it anywhere near as often because I have to plug it into my apple laptop, turn it on, load the photo paper and (sometimes) do a cleaning cycle.

The brother printer is just always there ready to print within 10 seconds. It''s like the difference between logging into your ISP with dialup and having always-connected dsl.

This printer represents a remarkable value. It is well made, and it does everything as advertised.

Set-up is a breeze, and the documentation is put togeter well.

I still can''t believe that I was able to purchase a network capable, automatic duplexing, PostScript compatible laser printer for this price.

Highly recommended.

After being very pleased with my Brother MFC-8220 laser fax/printer , I bought the Brother HL-5170DN for my office. I''m somewhat disappointed in that the printer has ocassional trouble handling envelopes. It will frequently jam.

Also, while it installs smoothly and easily into Windows XP, and works conveniently with the controls in MS Word (2003), it is awkward to set printer paper controls from within WorkPerfect 11.

Perhaps Brother engineers should look into a better control interface.

Otherwise, it is a fast and quality printer.

  • World''s fastest all-in-one
  • 15 ISO ppm black, 7.2 ISO ppm color
  • 250-sheet paper tray
  • Low ink cost
  • Extra-high capacity ink available

Of the more than 20 or so printers I have owned this is the best yet. The printer arrived along with a power cord, a telephone cord, an instruction sheet with 8 clearly defined steps to set up the printer for use, 4 individually wrapped ink cartridges (Black, Cyan, Magenta & Yellow), a software disk, a quick guide manual, an instruction sheet for Apple users and a packet of paper samples consisting of 2 sheets of paper.

There are two options in setting up the printer. One option is a USB cable connection to the PC. The other option is a wireless setup. I chose the wireless option which has two options as well. One is to use the USB cable for the initial setup and then remove it for wireless operation. The other option is to setup wireless without the USB cord. I chose the latter. The instructions directed the insertion of the software disk. This began a clearly written series of instruction pages which ended with a completely setup printer whose features all worked to perfection. This was an experience which I never had with any other printer. No fuss, no muss just easy does it and everything worked as it should.

Kudos to Epson for not only a top notch printer but for a rarely seen set of instructions written in English with no misspellings and easy to use. Many vendors, such as Dewalt, for just one example, seem to thumb their noses at providing useful and readable manuals. Epson is at the head of the class with this printer.

Let me start by saying I got this printer in November, so I''ve used it for about two months before writing this review.

I work in the IT industry and I have personally owned or used hundreds of printer brands/models. I have owned wireless all-in-one devices from various big brands including HP, Lexmark, Epson, and Brother. While most of them are comparable I have to give Epson the nod here. They really outdid themselves with this model. It is a full multi-function device, providing document/photo printing, copier and fax functions, wirelessly and all at reasonable price.

What''s in the box?

* Epson Workforce 545 printer

* Power Cable

* Telephone Cable

* Installation CD

* User Guide

* One each of Epson black, magenta, cyan, and yellow ink cartridges.

Set up is a breeze. Install the ink cartridges, then simply power it up and follow the menu to join it to your wireless network, or if you prefer, connect it via USB cable (NOT included) to your PC. The printer is compatible with Apple AirPrint and Google CloudPrint.

The printer tray holds 250 pages, much more than some other models. Some folks may not care about that, but to me its a big deal. I hate having to feed the printer every couple of days because its out of paper.

Its print production is rated at 15 pages per minute (black) and 7.2 ppm in color. Copier speed is 12 ppm/5.5 ppm black/color. It''s optical scan resolution is 2400 dpi. For sheer speed, the 545 is great for this type of device.

It is an average size for this family of devices, 17.6" wide x 14.2" deep x 9.1" high.

The included cartridges are the 126 model standard Epson cartridges. They also sell a model 127 which is higher capacity. The color cartridges are separate instead of combined, always a nice feature compared to throwing out a tri-color cartridge just because one of the three colors is empty.

After using the product for a couple of months, I can say I really love it. It is one of the best all-in-one devices I''ve used. I''ve had no jams, no memory issues or other system hang ups (which I have had with some HP devices), and in general its really a nice product.

Color photos are very nice quality and the ink does come out dry, whereas on some HPs I end up having to put the photos aside for a minute to completely dry. Not a big deal, but just noting it.

The warranty from Epson is one year, which includes phone support.

I would highly recommend the Epson WorkForce 545.

I read the reviews on here and was surprised... someone said "hard to set up". All I can say is "Did you remember to turn it on?" I took it out of the box, plugged it into the wall, used the menu to attach to my wireless network. It said connected. I walked over to my iMac and added the printer (worked great). Then i took out my iPad and iPhone and printed to it using AirPrint technology. No hassle, no confusion. Maybe the last guy had a dud. Great printer!

Shopper Beware. Overall a good printer if all you are printing is on NORMAL paper weight, the thickness of copy paper. The Workforce series can NOT handle papers heaver than 24lbs in weight, which is the basic copy paper weight. Paper weight is an indication of the paper''s thickness which is the culprit.

Hidden deep in the printer''s manual is the actual paper specifications.

Paper types Plain paper and paper distributed by Epson

Thickness 0.003 to 0.004 inch (0.08 to 0.11 mm)

Weight 17 lb (64 g/m2) to 24 lb (90 g/m2)If you try to print on a thicker paper eventually the paper transport will fail causing the entire device to become unusable. A slower learner, I''ve had this happen twice to me. I was using Avery''s Business cards when the device failed. Since it was over a year old I am left with the only option of purchasing a new device. Not pleasant experience.

I wanted to print wirelessly from my iPad using AirPrint, and directly via USB cable from my laptop. The standard installation software didn''t work, and I spent three phone calls and nearly two hours with Epson support before we could figure it out. It''s working now, so it can be done.

The printer itself is terrific! The feature set for the money can''t be beat. It prints, scans, copies, faxes, prints double-sided, and has an automatic document feeder. Photo printing is not gallery quality, but 4x6 prints are just fine. And this machine is FAST, as it claims. The paper drawer, while large, must be completely removed to add or change paper and is a little finicky.

The installation and setup was very complex hence the four stars instead of five. But for less than $100 at a Big Box store and given it''s features and performance, I''m very pleased.

Inkpress ACWG851110 Fine Art Glossy Canvas 350 GSM

Inkpress ACWG851110 Fine Art Glossy Canvas 350 GSM 8.5in. X 11in. 10 SheetsI purchased this canvas photo media on the advice of my sister in Canada. As an amateur photographer I take 100''s of pictures each year and then select the best of that year to share with friends and relatives. I have an HP Envy ink printer and this works very well when set at the Premium HP Photo Paper selection. I have printed out a number of 8 x 10''s of some of my favorite shots and I have to say I am blown away with what I see! The affect is like a painting and the finished artwork makes for great gifts as well as for personal wall hangings. I am an avid backpacker and have found myself "in the right place at the right time" for some great shots. I could not give this a better rating. One thing I should mention is that I tried to find my printer on the InkPress website and could not find it but risked it anyway. So take heart if you can''t find yours as I suspect it will work fine if you are getting good prints on regular photo paper.

This is the second Brother multi-function printer I have owned. The old one worked perfectly for several years.

When I found out that Brother was offering this new MF Printer with 11 x 17 output capability I was tempted to buy one because I frequently print/fax/copy floorplan drawings. Then when I found out that it was less than $300 on Amazon I purchased one immediately and gave my old MF Printer to a friend.

I have not been disappointed. It was easy to set up and working in a matter of minutes. The warm up cycle at the beginning of a print job is a little slow, but fairly typical for this type of machine. I haven''t found any complaints with it. The ability to print/fax/copy/receive 11 x 17 drawings is awesome.

I fully expected that the downside to this printer would be the cost of the ink cartridges. Wrong again! Replacement Ink cartridges, in both black and color, were relatively cheap and available in XL and XXL capacities.

One last thing. This is not a photo printer. Color printing is sharp and acceptable for most business applications, but don''t expect to print photos.

This is a great, inexpensive business printer. I have been using it daily for about 6 weeks without so much as a hiccup. I highly recommed it.

The 11x17 scanner is the main reason I bought this machine. You just cannot find this platform size for the price. It is fast and the scan quality is very good. The other features life FAX, print and copy and generous paper trays are icing on the cake. 11x17 photos are superb, even when their source is very lo-res. Brother support has been punctual, well trained and have solved my ''operator'' trouble immediately...there has been no actual hardware issues. I am Very Satisfied with this product.

I bought this because I need to be able to produce color 11x17 drawings for my land surveying business. It was recommended by another surveyor. Even thought it''s slower than my copies or a laser printer, it''s very useful as a home backup. I also needed the scanning capabilities. I usually print out the survey and then sign it, then scan to PDF for delivery to my clients. It works great for that.

Want Brother MFCJ6910DW Business Inkjet All-in-One Printer Discount?

For a long time, I was dead set on getting a laser MFC (probably monochrome; can''t afford the color lasers and I rarely need color prints, although it is nice to distinguish hyperlinks and print web pages on rare occasions) to replace my old HP Photosmart C4280 printer/copier/scanner, which worked great but just couldn''t ever meet the level of performance that I need. I frequently scan or copy documents in 9x12" or 11x17" sizes (rarely larger, but it''s happened), which is impossible on my old machine; I also print out long documents (sometimes up to around 50pgs) in duplex regularly, which took forever and required me to feed each sheet through one at a time or spend time making sure I had them all oriented correctly and in the right order after I printed the odd pages on the first side.

The Brother MFC-J6910DW caught my eye because it, unlike all laser printers under the thousands of dollars, could scan/copy/print up to 11x17. Most only allow up to legal size, which is no more useful to me than 8.5x11. This machine makes my life so much easier with this ability, combined with the automatic duplex printing function as well as duplex scanning through the ADF. I was also pleasantly surprised by the relatively low ink cartridge cost per page it''s actually getting down into the realm of laser toner costs, which is MUCH better than the typical inkjet.

After owning the printer for a little over a week now, I can say it''s quite a pleasure to have. Set-up, including connecting to my home ethernet network, was a snap, and as soon as the drivers were installed on my computer from the included CD, I was able to do everything I needed to right from the start with a very short learning curve. Being an individual but with somewhat business-like printing needs, the overall cost-to-own on this Brother printer, its ease of use, and overall excellent functionality with outstanding features make this an excellent purchase.

This is the 3rd printer I have since I upgraded to MAC OS 10.7 LION. I had a HP 309 that worked fine with my MAC until I upgraded. Then I bought a KODAK multi-function printer that kept loosing connection with the network. Now I have this Brother MFCJ6910DW.

First the printer:

Machine is build very well. I love the 2 paper trays and the capability to print , scan and copy double sided 11" x 17". Physical setup was easy. I had the printer out of the box and the trays and cartridges installed in under 30 minutes.

Installing software was a different story. I''m a MAC user (LION 10.7). It took 2 installs and about 2 Hrs. to get the printer to "talk" wirelessly over my home network. Then I was able to print. But that''s it.

I called Bother Tech Support. They have a special group that addresses MAC problems. Unlike the regular phone support, they have limited operating hours. I think it''s 10:00 AM -8:00 PM EST. Once I got someone on the phone (Next day) a very nice and knowledgeable employee had the scanner function running in no-time. I can scan from the PC or directly from the printer to the PC. The text recognition is working as well. Installing it all was quite complex. I miss the days that you can plug just about any device into your Macintosh without having to load a driver.........................Hopefully Apple will come with a driver for this printer soon.

I appears to me that the "Scan to network" and "Scan to FTP" functions are not working for MAC LION 10.7. I have also not been able to make the scan to email function work with my Google account. I called the help desk again but the employee that (tried) to help me this time didn''t get me anywhere.

I have not used the FAX function at all.

The Brother website could use some improvement. It takes a while to find the correct documentation. Why not have a setup guide for each operating system???? One page that tells you step by step what to do........

Once I have some more "fun" with this machine I will update my review.

UPDATE:

Installed on my 2nd MAC OS 10.7. Went smooth this time. Here are the steps it took.

1) Do not use CD rom (yet)

2) download and install driver form Brother website:

3) Restart your MAC.

4) Add the printer in Systems Preferences, Print and Scan.

5) Printer should now show up in your list.

6) Print a test page to make sure it works.

7) Now download and install the Scan Driver from the Brother website:

8) It should open a window (Device Selector) to setup your computer name to scan to.

9) Check the box "Register your computer........." and give your computer a name to be displayed on the Brother display.

10) You should be able to scan now.

11) Now insert the Brother CD that came with your printer.

12) Open the Brother Support App and download and install Presto Pagemanager. This installs the OCR (Text recognition software)

13) Open the Brother Control Center (there should be a small icon in the top of your screen) and scan a document using OCR

14) Enjoy.

Printing black and white digitally can be quite tricky and I have experimented with a number of papers in trying to get great looking prints. This is, in my opinion, the closest your going to get to getting your digital prints to look like traditional B&W. Granted, you have to adjust your photos for proper contrast first, but this paper goes a long way in helping you.

This paper is a fantastic marketing tool for Epson. Everyone raves about it. I''d like it if it would go through the Stylus Pro 3880 without scratching but it won''t. The transport rollers, tiny metal cogwheels in pairs approx. 1/8 inch apart running across the 17 inch width of the printer scratch the entire ink printed surface with parallel lines accented by the tips of the cogwheels. Also there was a problem with microscopic white dots in dark areas. I found out the white dots are a known issue (which Epson tech support did not tell me about) resulting from paper dust coating the new paper which flakes off after the ink dries. This topic turned up in extensive forum research and has been a big problem for Epson. Each piece must be carefully cleaned of paper dust before printing. The printing surface is much too delicate. Extreme caution must be used as it scratches easily. Must be spray coated with Krylon Crystal Clear or Hahnemule spray to prevent dry prints from scratching, which adds considerably to the cost and production time.

I''m on my 4th replacement printer now and it is scratching the Exhibition Fiber paper, too. I now must send the paper back to Epson for a refund and look for a different, less archival, less desirable surface, probably resin coated paper that will run through the 3880 without scratching. This has been a big hassle for my business as I put much effort into marketing the archival and fine photographic quality of the 3880/Exhibition Fiber combination. Black and White prints made with advanced control of the 3880 on Exhibition Fiber do look great, until you notice the scratches. Bottom line: expensive paper ends up being more trouble than it''s worth.

Would love to hear from anyone who''s had similar issues with this paper and/or the Stylus Pro 3880, especially if you''ve got a solution.

Don''t buy this paper for everyday use. This is for special prints that you want to look best. It''s expensive paper, but in photo paper you get what you pay for. This is not a matte cotton rag paper; it''s a soft gloss photo paper. It will produce traditional looking photographic prints with extremely sharp detail, beautiful colors, and excellent contrast. Obviously, the quality of the printer will affect the final result as well. The newer Stylus Pro Epson printers come with a print setting specifically for this paper. I use it for prints that are in an exhibition, and for prints that I sell, made on an Epson 3880 8 color pigment ink printer. I think you would also get good results with the Epson 6 color Claria dye ink system.

I''m using an HP Z5200 (44" wide, eight ink) printer and, after an extensive search, I''ve selected this paper for my portfolio.

The Z5200 has a built-in spectrometer, so building a profile was easy.

The blacks are rich, the colors vivid, and the whites are as clean and bright as you can get without added whiteners.

I''ve been printing on 13"X19" sheets but I''ve now ordered several 24"X50'' rolls for my larger prints.

My only complaint is that it''s too damned expenisve to use for my "everyday" printing.

So far this laser has been great. i was looking for a laser that printed on both sides and network ready. The samsung filled the bill at a very attractive price (can be has for $160 with instant rebate). It was a breeze to setup on Mac OS 10.5 as a network printer. Bonjour found it and just use the Samsung driver. Also since it has native postscript support you can use the Generic Postscript Driver with it as well. Works fine under 10.5 that way as well. Printing speed is awesome, and printing on both sides is great. the smaller form factor is great too.

Buy Samsung ML-2851ND Network-Ready Monochrome Laser Printer Now

I''ve been using the printer for over 6 months. I print 1,000 2,000 pages every month. The Samsung ML-2851ND Network-Ready Monochrome Laser Printer works very well for my purposes.

I am running MAC OS 10.5.6 on a computer that is hooked to the printer via USB cable and MAC OS 10.4 on a computer that is hooked to the printer via network. Setup was intuitive. I have not experienced the print smear issues that other reviewers mentioned.

The availability of a 250 Sheet Second Paper Tray (ML-S2850A) was influential in my decision to pick this printer. Thus the printer cost quite a bit more, but it was worth it for me so I didn''t have to keep switching paper types in the tray. As a writer I print out a lot of drafts to hand edit. I recycle paper that already has print on one side. I keep one tray with new paper for printing on one side or two sides using the automatic duplex feature and the second tray full of paper to reuse, printing on only one side. I don''t print a lot of envelopes, but when I do I just feed them one at a time by hand in the manual feeder, which does not accept more than one page.

Paper jams occur occasionally, more often from the tray with the recycle paper, usually due to paper folding or other defect. On-screen instructions have been very helpful, providing detailed instructions on clearing the jam.

Print cartridge replacement is intuitive. The printer ships with the ML-D2850A Black Toner Cartridge, which prints about 2,000 copies. I''ve replaced it with the Samsung ML-D2850B Black Toner Cartridge , which prints about 5,000 copies. I don''t print a lot of images, mostly just text. I''ve not kept close records on how many copies I''ve actually printed, but I use the toner save mode for the majority of the printing and my impression was that I was getting a good return on the investment with the larger cartridge, until I ran into a few faulty ones. The company did NOT satisfy me with their response. I eventually just gave up trying to get them to refund my money.

I see that a cheaper high-yield print cartridge REFILL option is available . From the reviews it looks like the instructions are poor, but once you get the refill system figured out it works pretty well. I''m going to try the refill option next time due to expense and the fact that the company does a crummy job regarding satisfaction guarantee if the product is faulty.

The ML2851ND is capable of some nice clean copies, good grayscale and quiet, fast operation. It is easy to set up, especially with Macintosh. It''s footprint is fairly small for use in tight spaces. The only problem is that right out of the box about 95% of my copies printed with a smeary toner streak about a half an inch wide all the way down the left margin. This prints with varying densities most of the time but seems the darkest when the printer is first used. After about 10 to 15 copies it starts to fade, but the defect returns as the printer cools. I don''t know if this is universal with this model, but it reflects very poor quality control on Samsung''s part. Samsung''s customer service was responsive but offered no workaround. I assume they are aware of the problem since they directed me to a repair center immediately. So, I''ve owned it for less than a week, and either must pack it all back up, insure it and ship it back to the online seller (not Amazon), or leave it with a repair shop. It''s a no win situation.

First, I had the same experience with the toner cartridge that came with the printer. The copies were smeared and awful. I spent hours trying to clean the cartridge and ran all the utilities over and over very frustrating. I thought I was going to have to return the printer. After speaking at length with support and against my better judgment I purchased a new cartridge and the smearing problem was solved. But if it hadn''t been, I would have been out $65.00. Samsung, "Get with it and pack a decent cartridge with your printers. You''ll save everyone a lot of headaches and $ yourself included." The second problem is with paper handling. I regularly get 2 pages slipping through together when only one should and each has a partial print. This is a problem for me because, in my business, I am constantly changing between forms and only put in the number of forms needed in any given circumstance. I have wasted a lot of expensive form stock.

This printer replaced a workhorse Lexmark that had been in daily use for 12 years. It is smaller and quieter and was easy to install but, I have to say not as trustworthy.

****UPDATE**** 03-21-2010

The fuser has blown out. This is the worst B&W laser printer I have ever used. Save yourself time and headaches; get a Lexmark or Brother. Sorry Samsung love your monitors and TVs but this printer -> PU.

I had to buy a laser printer in a hurry to replace a previous laser printer that finally quit working. Because I am a student again, I had to really narrow my search criteria for the replacement printer out of cost consideration. The printer had to be a laser printer, fast, network-ready and, of course, low-cost. After searching various review sites including Amazon.com, I finally concluded that the Samsung ML-2851 ND printer most closely fit what I was seeking.

In no particular order, these are my likes and dislikes about this printer:

Likes: It''s fast! Of course, I am used to a 12 ppm laser, so just about anything in the market today would seem speedy compared to it. The warmup time required after the printer wakes from sleep mode is very short compared to other printers I have used over the years.

The duplexer is a great feature for a printer at this price level. In order to bring the cost of production in line with the street price of the printer, I wonder if Samsung might not have used a cheaper, less reliable transfer roller in their duplexer? Time will tell...

It is quiet. I can barely hear this printer in operation and often find myself going to check it just to make sure the print job was processed. I guess that could be seen as a drawback, but I like the quiet of my house when it''s just me and the dog working on my school homework.

Built-in Ethernet spared me from having to get another print server for my home network.

The Mac setup is easy if you are familiar with configuring a network printer. But, in the course of setting up this printer for a mixed Windows and Mac LAN, I did find a few little issues I didn''t like.

Dislikes: The printer network settings allow for DHCP, but the driver looks for the printer by IP address only. This is a major issue if you want to let IP resources be managed by a DHCP server because of the number of network appliances on a LAN segment. Leaving the printer on in order to keep the IP address leased to the printer is not an option. It appears that when the printer goes into sleep mode for power saving, it doesn''t request the re-leasing of its assigned address. If you are intending to use this printer on a network using the TCP/IP protocol, the only way you are going to get reliable network operation is to assign this printer a static IP address.

The Mac driver is already built into Mac OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard). Nothing in the User''s Guide indicates this, nor were there any notes on the Samsung support web site about this. Using the install CD that is provided with the printer is not recommended except to install the Samsung Smart Panel. On the Mac, this utility isn''t that useful.

Speaking of Smart Panel, I don''t like that it automatically loads for the Windows driver when the computer is booted. I have not found a way to disable this feature. Fortunately, you can tell Smart Panel not to load on computer boot in the Mac version.

The printer preferences in the Windows driver are not as well implemented as I believe they could be. For example, enabling duplex printing does not necessarily enable duplex printing. The user also has to select if the duplex print should follow the long side or short side of the paper. In the Mac driver, duplex printing is a simple check box option.

Even though this printer has multiple feed paths (Paper Tray 1, Paper Tray 2 [optional], Manual Feed), the driver will only allow envelopes to be fed through the manual feed slot -one at a time. For someone who is used to printing envelopes from my address book without having to go to the printer every time a single envelope needs to be printed, this is a big disappointment.

Print output seems a little light unless the printer is set to 1200 dpi with the toner save option disabled. I have been playing with these settings to see if there is a way to tweak my documents without giving up maximizing toner cartridge life.

Most of the dislikes are minor for me. I do wish Samsung hadn''t put a DHCP setting in the printer when their own driver won''t recognize the printer if the printer IP address changes. It would have been far better for me if they had simply instructed the user to set a static IP address and forget it. That would have saved me a few days of network issues.

Overall, I like this printer. It has met my most critical needs with a couple wants tossed in for good measure. It is a lot of SOHO printer for the price. Time will tell if the toner cartridges have enough print life to justify a higher rating for this printer.
