I was upgrading from a single-function color inkjet printer. Having an all-in-one with scanning and printing, including double-sided printing, is a huge improvement. The Epson has both good and bad about it.
Pros:
-Amazingly fast. This goes for scanning, copying, printing, really impressive.
-Quality of output photos and documents are crisp. No ink bleeding like my last printer, even if air humidity is high.
-Quick drying, I can touch and stack documents fresh out of the printer with zero smudging.
-The display adjusts angle for easy viewing whether the printer is eye-level or waist level.
-Individual print cartridges, don''t seem too expensive, and don''t seem to drain that quickly.
Cons:
-Software install. Worked fine on Windows 7. It failed on a Macbook and a Macbook Pro, however, the drivers still installed and these two laptops can use the printer fine, though the software is not fully installed (comes with a photo printing app and a desktop publishing app). I also attempted to install on the Macbook Virtual Box version of Windows XP, this failed horribly, it complained it could not contact the printer over the wireless though the light on the printer indicated otherwise.
-Construction. It looks to be entirely plastic, and not the thick sturdy plastic, but very flimsy and bendable. Changing the paper in the tray and having to adjust the guide rails fills me with fear of breaking it.
-Was hoping to assign it an IP address through the printer''s display setup, but looked like it was DHCP or nothing. I really expected more programmability via the display rather than through the printer software (which is a bust on my Macs).

I researched and read reviews on this product before I bought it via Amazon''s black friday deals. $99 for an all-in-one wireless printer, it''s a steal! So that''s the first plus. Second is that the set up was damn easy. I didn''t really had to read the set up manual. I just had to browse through it quickly and remembered the steps. Not a lot to remember BUT most important thing to remember is NOT to plug any USB cable if you are going to use it wireless. I use a PC. So, I can''t say anything about a MAC. But I did see reviews on MAC issues. So do your homework, if you are a MAC user. BUt I believe that there''s a solution. Third, the printing is amazing. I already tried all features, double sided printing, wireless printing, photo printing, mobile printing, etc... it all works! The only thing I can''t rate at this time is the durability cause I don''t know how durable it is at this time... I just got it. I do have one issue, the changing of paper type. YOu have to remove the tray all the way out to replace/add paper. Oh well, I guess I can live with this since I don''t change paper types as often as others may. It is for home use. Overall, I love my new printer!

The NX625 is an inexpensive printer using cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink cartridges. Although it is fine for letters, school and general office work, photo printing is weak when compared to printers that use additional color cartridges. The lack of a feeder for multi-page scanning and any fax capability also limit the NX625''s usefulness in many situations. Offsetting that, the designers have optimized it for print speed...if you need to print multi-page documents, the NX625 is really fast. Let''s look at it in more detail...
Installation I installed this printer on several PCs (running Windows 7 and Vista) and one Mac (running Snow Leopard). Installation was simple on all the computers, at least after I finally followed the directions and used the installation disk. Since (like most men) I know that following instructions is a primary cause of ED, I had problems the first time...all the computers identified the printer as a "NX620 Series", not specifically the NX625, and were unable to download the drivers from the web. When I followed the instructions and used the disk to load the drivers, it worked just fine. My spouse hopes that I''ll eventually recover.
Printing The NX625 is an inexpensive printer using just cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink cartridges. It shows. Although it''s fine for letters, school and general office work, the quality of photo printing is weak when compared to my Epson Artisan 810 (replaced by the Epson Artisan 835 Color Inkjet All-In-One (C11CA73201)) which also uses light magenta and light cyan cartridges. Also, the dot size is rather large, with a noticeable stippling as colors blend together. This isn''t present in printers specifically designed for photographic printing. (I suspect that the relatively large dot size is a design trade-off to increase the pages-per-minute print speed. Fewer dots require less computer processing and allow the print head to be moved back and forth faster.)
On the positive side, the NX625 can handle a decent range of paper types. It has a built-in duplexer that''s flush with the back panel. My older Epson has the duplexer hanging a couple of inches out the back, which has always been annoying...it prevents the printer from being pushed against with a wall. The paper tray is flimsy, but it works and holds enough paper that it''s not always running out. The output tray is also thin plastic, with enough ridges on the underside to keep it rigid.
Copying and Scanning The NX625 is strictly a one page at-a-time flatbed scanner. Slightly more expensive models incorporate a feeder to allow you to scan a multipage document without standing there, continuously opening and shutting the cover. Copy quality is ok, and is obviously subject to the same issues that affect print quality.
Faxing The NX625 is not the printer to buy if you need to send a lot of faxes...it doesn''t have any fax capability.
Ink There are two ink cartridge sets available for the NX625. The Epson Durabrite Ultra Ink, Black (T125120) and Epson Durabrite Ultra Ink, Color Multipack (CMY) (T125520)is the standard capacity set. The Epson Durabrite Ultra Ink, Black (T127120) and Epson Durabrite Ultra Ink, Color Multipack (CMY) (T127520) have more ink, but are quite a bit more expensive. As with any printer, ink costs far outweigh the initial printer cost. I haven''t used it enough to get a solid estimate of per page printing cost, but will update this review when I do.
Conclusion Think carefully about your needs before purchasing the NX625. Other printers are available for nominally more money that incorporate faxing and have a document feeder. Because of the cost of the ink cartridges, I expect the operating cost to be fairly high. The high print speed is its main claim to fame, but, in my opinion, that''s not enough to make up for the other factors. As a result, I''m just giving it two stars.

I''m blown away, this printer works great. We got it recently and hooked it up in less than 30 minutes. The printer found our secured wireless network (Mac airport express) and connected really easy, the set up on my second laptop was even faster, no wifi passwords needed.
I like the option of customizing your set up and avoid all the bloatware that comes with the drivers, when installing the CD make sure you opt out of the extra software most people don''t need anyways, and just install the drivers.
My wife and i were both surprised at the speed this printer can print at, b/w pages print in less than 5 seconds. so needless to say we are extremely impressed with it!
Cons:
-airPrint not available for the epson (yet) for the iPhones or iPads, they do have an app on the app store called epson iprint. The app is free but will only print pictures, nothing else!! no pdf''s, no .doc''s, etc... a second app is required if you want to print such documents but this app is an extra 7 bucks

I have owned many printers in my time, my first one being an Epson about 15 years ago. I am not sure why I strayed away from Epson printers as the one I had was a trooper but somehow I forgot about them. Well I got the chance to try out the Epson NX625 printer and I am in love! It is an awesome all-in-one printer! It prints, scans, copies, and even has a 2.5-inch LCD screen to edit and print photos! The only thing this printer doesn''t do is load more paper that is after you run out of the 150 pages it holds!
When I first setup this printer I was amazed at how sharp and sleek it looks, since it is right in the middle of two desks I love that it is not ugly or real bulky. It doesn''t have a back loader paper tray either which I am finding is much easier to fill. Right out of the box you plug it in, set up to connect to your home''s wireless network if you''d like, snap in the included ink cartridges, add some paper and you are ready to go! Oh I did have to install some software on my computer but that was really quick and easy on my Mac.
This printer is called the world''s fastest all-in-one (for its price point) and it definitely is I am no longer waiting for what seems like forever for that coupon to pint so I can run to the store! I love the built-in wireless option because I can now print from my laptop without having to load it on my desktop. You can also print from your iPhone or other mobile device directly, which my husband is loving! (Separate review coming on the PrintJinni App for iPhone.)
An issue I have had with printers in the past is photo printing, they never come out very good. Well I loaded the Epson NX625 with some 4X6 inch Glossy Photo Paper and my picture came out just as it would it I went to Target or Walgreens and got it done. Ou can also insert you camera''s memory card directly into the printer to print without a computer! Yes you can even edit the photos quickly (remove red-eye, auto photo correction and color restoration) on the 2.5 inch LCD screen! I thought that was pretty cool because so many times after a party or something someone asks for a copy of a photo I took and now I can quickly print it for them without booting up my computer, saving it to iPhoto and clicking print. The photos also are printer with DURABrite Ultra pigment ink so you can easily handle the photo after printing no more waiting a few minutes for the ink to dry and are smudge and water resistant. Oh and there is no special ink cartridges to buy to get high quality photo printing, the Epson cartridges are meant for photo or document printing. With the ink thee are individual ink cartridges (one black and three colors) which I used to think it a pain but now realize I can save money because I only have to replace the color I need.
My husband''s favorite feature on this printer is automatic two-sided printing. He prints a lot of his school reading at home and it is a waste to print only on one side so now we are saving money on paper and it is printing faster! I will say though we haven''t been able to print two-sided from our Mac yet, but my husband hasn''t had a problem printing from the PC we have. I am not giving up yet but I just haven''t had time to sit down with it.
Overall, there is nothing I don''t like about this printer and it definitely beats the past printers I have owned. From its sleek black design and size to its fast, high quality printing, the Epson NX625 really does an awesome job, especially for the price! I also found that the multi-pack of color ink is about $30 so it doesn''t cost really any more than other color cartridges. It is nice though to replace just one color if for example you print a lot of yellow, cyan, or magenta.
