Installation and set-up were simple connect the USB cable and place the CD ROM that comes with the printer in your drive and it practically self-installs. You will have to go through a calibration step in which a page of horizontal and vertical lines are printed and you select the lines that are the most perfect. This assures that the printer accurately produces documents that look the same on paper as they do on your screen. I was pleased by the vivid colors in the final test page that is printed after the installation completes. For the price this printer is capable of quality that is amazing.
I also like the software that comes with it because it gives you control over output quality (I use mine in fast draft mode to conserve ink) and allows you to select the type of paper you''re using so that you get optimum results. This printer will work well with plain paper, which is a nice feature for anyone who is cost conscious. When you''re printing you can see how much ink is remaining in your cartridges, which is also a nice touch for such an inexpensive printer.
There are a few things facts that you need to know about this printer: (1) it has a single interface (USB), unlike many printers that come with both parallel and USB. Also note that you''ll have to purchase your USB cable because the printer does not ship with one (most USB printers don''t, so this does not detract from the value). However, I was a bit disappointed to discover that it ships with a single color cartridge, although it is configured for separate color and black cartridges. Also, you need to know that a set of color and black cartridges will cost as much as the printer itself.
If you want an entry-level printer or have light printing requirements this is a bargain and well worth the price.
Buy HP Deskjet 3320 Color Inkjet Printer Now
After owning a black & white inkjet by HP for years, I bought an Epson color printer... Big mistake. In addition to being noisy, the software kept track of the ink levels and you couldn''t change it until the software told you you were out of ink. I''d have to trick it by unplugging it when the ink cartridges were in the small space available for changing. So after a few years of suffering with the Epson, I swore that I''d go back to HP.I also use a HP laserjet at work and it''s performed reliably for quite a few years, and is still going strong.
So I was comparing HP printers. The higher the price, the faster the printer & some have special photo features, but I didn''t need that, I just needed a solid printer for my occasional printing needs.
I had one printer jam since I started recieved this printer, but the back panel comes off for easy removal of any stuck paper. It has an envelope guide, but you have to remove the paper to use it... no big deal.
This printer is about the size of a roll of paper towels when it''s folded up, and the paper goes pretty far back into it, so with paper it''s it only adds around 6 inches to it. It''s quiet, which is very nice. And unlike the epson, the ink levels shown on the screen are "estimates only" and any time you open the top, the ink cartridges pop into view. Yay!
Draft mode prints very good looking, very readable black and decent looking color. My girlfriend didn''t even know it was in draft mode when I showed her a page, though she did comment on the colors not being as nice as they could be.
I have no reason to switch it off of draft mode, unless I''m printing documents I want to give to someone or something I want to archive. I just wish I could switch to "black only draft mode." It would''ve been nice to conserve the color ink when printing web pages that I only needed to keep around for a few days, but at $17 and $21 for ink cartridges (bw & color), ink isn''t expensive.
The software that comes with the printer aligns the printer so it knows where the edge of the paper is, and makes sure that when it switches from color to black & white the lines are straight. Basically it prints a bunch of lines and you tell it which ones are straight or close to the edge of the page without going over it. This may be difficult to do if you have bad vision, but the middle settings are the ones that worked for me, and the middle settings will probably work for 99% of the printers out there.
Overall, I''m very happy with this purchase, and I''m glad I didn''t spend the extra money on features I don''t need. I hope to own this printer for many years to come.

I took a fifty dollar bill out to Wal Mart the other day to buy a cheap printer and decided to buy the HP 3320. Frankly, I didnt expect much ( you get what you pay for...right??) Anyway, the Printer preformed VERY WELL. The paper feed ALWAYS worked, the quality of the photos I printed were excellent and combined with the easy set-up made my 50 bucks go a long way!I read some of the other reviews on this printer......Had to laugh........Come on people........Complaints on windows 95 drivers???? Windows what????? hehe. No, the ink only comes with
one cartridge, and no extra cables........but it is well worth the FIFTY bucks.Having used HP Printers for many years, I assumed the quality of their past products would speak for itself. WRONG. I had the same problem another reviewer mentioned, "the printer head assembly (the part that holds the ink cartridges) broke & would not move any more." This occured 5 DAYS after the warranty expired. And in the three short months I used it, I also purchased at *least* three times as many ink cartridges as I''ve ever had to purchase for any other printer in a similar time frame. A very bad buy on my part, so I''m waiting for my Lexmark Printer/copier/scanner to arrive, while I use my daughter''s THREE YEAR OLD Lexmark that still works great. After a six months of relatively light use (printing a paper every now and then), the ink cartridge doesn''t move anymore. It''s better to go ahead and buy a more expensive printer instead of having to replace the cheap ones every few months or so.

- Attractive, long-lasting labels
- Genuine Dymo quality accessory
In addition, it is much less expensive than many of its competitors. I know of only one other label maker on the market that costs less than Letra-Tag and there is no comparison between the quality of the two products.
My only objection, and this is VERY small, is that it took a
little time at first to learn where the label tape is sold. While it is not sold at every stationary store, it is certainly available at all the big office supply stores, both on and
off-line. It is also very easy to price compare on the internet, as well, enabling me to get the best price and buy in bulk.
If you like organization and don''t like to waste money, it''s the greatest! The yellow plastic tape is essential if you have a DYMO Letratag Labelmaker of this size.
The plastic tape is far superior to the paper tape. The metallic tape is OK, but for most household and office uses, the plastic is best. Furthermore, the yellow is easy to read.
A previous reviewer complained about not being able to obtain this during the Christmas season, but that fails to accurately critique the product.

I have 2 DYMO Letra Tag Label makers and in general I like them. I use the plastic tape to label my spice jars. While the print holds up to the frequent handling, the labels don''t stay stuck to the glass bottles. No matter how carefully I clean the jars before applying the label they start peeling from one end or the other (and sometimes both). They also don''t like to stick to the plastic caps.
I am disappointed with this product, but haven''t found anything better.
BTW The metallic tape was no better.I have done a lot of canning this season. This DYMO labeling tape works great for this. (used with DYMO labeler). Can read the jar labels clearly and quickly. This cartridge is great for what I use it for. I was setting up my craft room and most of my scrapbook organizers are white so using the clear background with the black lettering stood out great. Plus it''s great for journaling in scrapbooks too. I''m still on my first cartridge so it seems to last as well.

The physical printer is great. I love being able to print an address label and then ten seconds later do a stamp without having to switch rolls of paper.I just spent the last half hour trying to figure out how to print postage to mail a book. I could not find the option to print $2.77 worth of postage (for a media mail package), no matter how hard I looked. And then I learned, from the DYMO website, that despite the listing for this item stating that we can, "Print USPS® approved DYMO Stamps® postage directly from your desktop -no monthly fee, contracts or commitments required," printing is limited to First Class, Priority Mail, Postcard and International Air Mail postage.
What this means is that if you want to print postage for packages you must pay $9.95 per month $99.95 per year. Something that is not mentioned in the product page.
That said, the printer works great, and otherwise lives up to its billing.

My fiance needed a receipt printer for her new business. When I first started looking, I had found only "true" POS-style receipt printers costing $300+. Knowing that receipt printers are simply overpriced thermal printers, I decided to look for thermal printers not billed as receipt printers. I dont know why I didnt think of Dymo first! This is a great product that is designed with label and postage printing in mind, but Dymo sells continuous thermal receipt paper rolls for it as well. This turns out to be the most cost efficient thermal receipt printer on the market, IMO. This is exactly what I was looking for. Only 4 stars, because I dont want Dymo to think theres no room for improvement.Want DYMO LabelWriter 450 Turbo High-Speed Postage and Label Printer (1752265) Discount?
I bought this Labelwriter because my old Dymo label printer was not compatible with the latest version of Mac OS. I tried today to print from an imported list and couldn''t get it to work and had to contact Dymo support. In there own words I was told "the labelwriter itself, yes is compatible however the feature that you are trying to use in the software is not. The Import Data will not work. The developers have tried it with both versions and haven''t been successful with it. Now it you want to try the version 8.4 I was informed that you may be able to import but it''s only going to allow you to print 1 label. Which will probably be a waste of your time." I am going to request a refund from Dymo and I will update this review if and when I get it. For now, don''t buy a Dymo label printer if you have a Mac and want to print from a list instead of one label at a time.Turbo is a great name for this label writer. It is fast! Wish I''d known there was a dual version available where I could have had regular labels and postage labels loaded at the same time. If you''re looking at this labeler check out the dual version before you make a decision to buy. Overall, it is a great labeler, fast, sleek, easy to change labels.Dell 2150CDN Laser Printer Save 47% off

I decided on the Dell 2150cdn finally, because of price and toner cost. I compared with Brother and HP color lasers. Brother was originally my top choice because toner costs were acceptable. HP toner is ridiculously priced, although quality of prints was first class. I felt that HP prints had a bit more vibrant colors and felt ''glossy'' compared to Brother. I was not satisfied with the output of Brother, so I finally came across the Dell 2150 which did not have many reviews.
I took a chance on the Dell and I am pleasantly surprised! Of course, you don''t want to use this printer for photo-printing, but colors came out true for the most part. It is very difficult to calibrate my monitor to the printer, but reds, blues and greens printed very well on pictures and charts. Bright blues can look more purple and bright pinks can look more reddish. Overall I give the color quality an A+ for a color laser at this price range. For more accurate color printing, you would have to pay 2-3 times more!
Blacks and grayscale were perfect; nice and crisp.
Speed of printing for black is fast--close to the printer specs. Adding color did not delay the printing speed much a few seconds.
However, I did not notice a difference in speed for High-Quality color prints vs Normal-Quality. I saw no quality difference either, which was a slight disappointment. There is some very slight banding when colors are mixed that I thought would be fixed with High-Quality print selection but such was not the case. --Bottom line is to get an Ink-Jet for those photos!
The main reason I selected the Dell was the cost of non-OEM toner replacement. They are much cheaper than usual toner and available. I will have to update my review after using non-OEM toner; but beware using this toner will void your warranty! During my research for color laser printers, I went backwards by finding cheap toner, then finding the printer that uses that toner!
If I were using Dell/OEM toner, the cost for this printer would not be a good deal. Cost per page would be on par with HP color lasers.
The 2150cdn has an AUTOMATIC duplexer which works great! It is a huge cube, sizewise, and it takes some considerable desk space. When sitting close, the noise is very loud and I would not want to be working next to this machine during long/frequent print jobs. The machine quiets down when it goes into energy saving mode/sleep mode; the time to enter this mode is adjustable. It uses around 5-10 watts when in deep sleep, and up to 1100 watts when printing.
The manual says not to use extension cords, but I am using a heavy-duty 14 gauge/12 amp 8-ft extension cord with no issues.
Wired-networking is a breeze to setup. I gave it a static IP address and all my PC''s can do direct-IP printing with no problems. All I have to do is load the driver from the CD for each PC -Dell''s software is light and not obtrusive. This is much, much better than having HP bloatware on your computer!
Overall, I recommend this Dell 2150cdn. All these features for less than 3 benjamins!
Thanks for reading.

I have had several Dell printers over the years and this one tops them all. It is relatively small for a printer with full duplex and legal paper capability. I couldn''t believe how easily I was able to install this printer on my network; both wired and wireless through a router. The CD stepped through the installation effortlessly. The print is crisp and the colors are bright and true. I couldn''t be happier. I would definitely recommend this printer to my friendsRead Best Reviews of Dell 2150CDN Laser Printer Here
My wife and I bought this Dell 2150cdn duplex color laser printer to replace a Dell 3100cn color laser printer (with a duplex attachment we had to purchase separately). The Dell 3100cn was a fine printer until it ran out of black toner. I bought a replacement toner directly from Dell but I could not get it to snap in place inside the 3100cn. I spent 4 hours on the phone with Dell support to no avail. I was not soured on Dell though, I was pleased with their customer service, who spent all that time with me at no cost to me even though my 3100cn printer was out of warranty. I decided to buy a new printer and I went with Dell again.I am pleased to report that Dell completely redesigned the toners and how they snap in place inside the 2150cdn. I have not run out of toner yet, but I am confident that installing a replacement will be easy.
This printer is quiet, a lot smaller than the 3100cn, and the duplex feature is built-in. This was my first time buying a Dell product not from Dell directly, but the product is still backed by Dell''s warranty.
A few months after the Dell 2150cdn purchase, my wife and I bought our first Apple computers -MacBook Pro laptops -and this printer supports both Windows and Mac computers concurrently. There are protocols that are specific to Mac vs. Windows, but luckily we were not forced to pick one or the other. I did not have to do anything with the printer to allow the Mac to print to it. I just needed to install the printer on my wife''s and my MacBooks running the Lion OS (but we needed the DVD that came with the printer in order to install the printer on our Macs -apparently, Apple does not support plug-and-play of non-Apple products!).
My only complaints are that I am stuck with a cryptic host name I cannot change and the Tool Box software tool that got installed on the PC is buggy and cannot communicate with the printer. Fortunately, I can jettison the Tool Box and just use the web interface.
UPDATE 8/28/2012:
1) We are on the third black toner since we bought this printer 11 months ago. The toners are ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE, $75 each, and at the rate we''re going, only last 5 months. Mind you, we are just printing occasionally, not constantly.
2) We bought the new iPad and I have spent the past four days trying to get it to print to this Dell 2150cdn printer and it just will not work, not even with the most current firmware update. The one good thing about this printer is that Dell classifies it as a business product and it comes with one year of phone technical support. I have been talking with one Dell rep for three straight days with the guy calling me during the day while I am at work and then the same guy calling me back at night when I am home so we could try and work through the problem. While the rep tried to be helpful, he finally admitted that Dell has no firmware update for this printer that will make it AirPrint-compatible (what you need for iPad printing).

My printer has major print quality problems related to the fuser and the drum. It''s under warranty, and Dell acknowledges that they''re responsible to replace the fuser and drum, which they will do. But only once I had installed Dell toner, which cost me $400. I had been using non-Dell toner, which cost only about $100. Never mind the fact that the toner has nothing to do with the problem (as proven by the fact that the problem persisted even with Dell toner installed).Plus customer service is a nightmare with Dell, as with many other big companies. Lots of hassles. Deep regrets about choosing a Dell printer. (My Dell monitor is great though.)This printer has several problems that were never addressed in any of the reviews that I read of it.
1. The print quality is far less than that of HP.
2. The printer needs to be shut off and back on again when printing anything larger than a small document. I print Veteran''s Day and Christmas Cards. Usually one hundred at a time. That''s two hundred full color pages. The problem is with the print drivers. Instead of sending the print information out ounce and having the printer reread the information one hundred times, it sends the data out one hundred times. This overwhelms the printer causing it to crash. But printing just one document is a problem, because the printer fails to clear out it''s memory in between printings. What happens is the printer just sits there and the computer will show a successful print. If the printer is not in the same room as the computer, you''ll never know that you are not printing. The only fix for this it to power down the printer and power it back up.
3. Manual printing tray sucks! The manual printing tray is a part of tray one. There is nothing to hold the paper in place. This makes misfeeds very, very common. The madding thing is that the printer always takes the misfeed causing me to reprint the same document over and over again.
4. Oh yeah, the warranty starts the moment the vender buys the printer. So, if the printer has been sitting on the shelf for six months then you only have a six month warranty. This was never disclosed to me before I purchased the printer! At the very least, it dishonest.
All of these problems were a shock to me considering the quality of other Dell products. Don''t buy this printer. You''ll be wasting your money!

The 2,200 page rating is based on HP''s testing methodology meaning that it''s highly unlikely that you will get 2,200 pages out of your cartridge. If you make copies, if you print photos, if you use the high quality settings you are going to run out of ink much sooner but the fact remains that you do get a lot more ink in this cartridge than in the ''regular'' one.
HP claims (couldn''t verify) that using Officejet inks on papers with the ColorLok logo the output will retain color quality ''for decades''. Such an ink/paper combination, according to HP, will produce documents that resist water and fading.

I purchased the HP OfficeJet 8500 because of the volume yields for printing (especially the black). I am running a tax and accounting business and I obviously blow through black ink on a regular basis. This helps me keep costs down and the ability to print with an inkjet allows me to provide colorful financial statements, reports, etc for my clients. If you need a little more than laser black and white printing, but cannot afford a color laser, I would recommend this product along with purchasing the HP 8500. Love this printer because of the XL cartridges and the ability scan my workpapers easily. This printer also allows you to define the buttons on the front of the unit to perform specific tasks... scan to client files directory, scan to email, etc. Very handy and I have been advising my monthly customers to get one of these for their small business needs.Want HP 940XL C4906AN140 Ink Cartridge Discount?
This is not a comment on this seller but on HP''s racket of selling their printers below cost, then robbing us blind with their ink cartridges. They claim their 940 XL, which sells for about $40, prints 2,200 pages. Yeah right.I''m a playwright and play pages have very little print on them, since most of the lines are short and they''re double and triple spaced. My newish HP Officejet Pro demands a fresh cartridge after printing 600 play pages, the equivalent of about 200 regular double-spaced pages of text. So I''m getting less than ten percent of what they promise.
I never print in color, not ever, yet yesterday the printer wouldn''t operate until I replaced the yellow cartridge. Today it wouldn''t work until I replaced the blue cart. I ONLY PRINT IN BLACK.
They put chips in the carts so you can''t use third party ones. This racket -and HP is not the only offender among printer manufacturers -is one of the most flagrant rip-offs in America today. It''s outrageous and sleazy, a disgraceful way to treat your loyal customers. This cartridge came at a good price, on time, and is working as advertised. I would recommend this purchase to all.
