I used this to build a custom POS system for a client/friend of mine. It was about 4-6 months ago or so and he uses it daily in his shop and I have not heard from him since I 1st installed it; its a good device for the price. Not a lot of options; and the scripting is not really following any standards; but once you get it going it will work well.

This product did not work with windows 8. The instructions are a very bad translation that were not helpful at all. I even went through all of the other comments and tried some of the methods other people used to get this POS working, but to no avail. After wasting countless hours and getting completely frustrated, I decided it was time to return this item. With amazon the return was the best thing about this whole purchase. Do yourself a favor and be cautious if you want this product, and also save the boxes for shipping it back.

Hammermill Laser Print Copy Paper 500 Sheets
  • Hammermill laser print copy paper.
  • Hammermill® Laser Print Copy Paper.

This paper positively radiates attractiveness--at least, as much as a sheet of paper can. It''s called Laser Print, but it works excellently with inkjet printers and fountain pens. It''s smooth and brilliant, and makes a good impression... in fact, it looks and feels better than Hammermill''s fine laser print.

Buy Hammermill Laser Print Copy Paper 500 Sheets (12553-4) Now

When I first felt the paper, I thought to myself, "Wait, is this the paper?" It was surprisingly smooth to the touch.

The brightness is nice, and printed colors really stand out nicely.

The paper has a nice weight to it; it''s not too thick like card stock, but it''s also not the thin economy bulk paper you can get at half the cost for twice as much paper. The paper''s weight is just enough to exude quality without seeming overly pretentious.

This paper is good for printing a résumé or a school paper you''re turning in to your professor. It''s a good choice, but only at a good price. Shop around Amazon for different listings of the same product, and whatever you do, please do NOT pay anywhere near $20/ream because it simply isn''t worth it at that price.

This paper conveys quality without seeming too heavy or wasteful.

The silky smooth finish (not glossy) is the best part. It''s a little heavier than economy 20 lb paper.

Works nicely in ink jet printers too.

I always have a few reams on hand to use when quality paper matters.

Don''t confuse this with "HammerMill® Ultra Premium Laser Paper" which is inexplicably a step down in brightness and smoothness from this paper.

HP LaserJet 2100 Laser Printer

HP LaserJet 2100 Laser Printer
  • HP LaserJet 2100 1200x1200 Parallel Laser Printer General Features: Monochrome laser printer
  • Parallel interface 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution 10 ppm (pages per minute) print speed
  • 4 MB RAM Base Memory (52 MB maximum) 100-sheet multi-purpose Tray 1 250-sheet for Tray 2
  • Resolution Enhancement Technology Up to 15,000 pages per month duty cycle
  • Built-in Intellifont, TrueType scaling technologies, HP-GL/2 vector graphics.

I must admit to begin that I did not completely read the fine print of the description. It did state that the printer came with NOTHING in the way of cables, instructions, drivers or toner. On the good side: the machine DOES work as a copier not connected to any computer. However, I have never been able to get it to work as a printer nor have I found any driver from HP available on the internet. Next time, I will read the fine print more carefully.

Put a lot of time into researching photo printers before I picked up this Canon i470d from BestBuy. Brought it home and was immediately impressed. Fast, quiet, excellent quality photo printing. Easy to setup and easy-to-use software comes with. Great options....can print from media card or directly from Canon camera. Very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it. Just don''t forget to buy the USB cord that is NOT included. For your info, I just use this recreationaly to print out some 4x6''s. Not doing any technically difficult photo editing or elaborate presentations.

I''ve been looking for a while to replace my lagging Lexmark printer. I found a great deal on this Canon printer. I checked the reviews, which were mostly very favorable. I purchased it without hesitation. I''m glad I did.

It does not come with a USB cable, so expect to purchase one. It does come with a sample pack of 5 4x6 Canon picture paper, so you don''t even need to purchase paper first to test it out. And it does come with a cartriage of color and black ink, both need to be installed. In addition, the cost of the ink is lower than many other printers, ranging about $10 a cartriage.

The software is very nice, so far. You open up their picture printer program. Select the photo(s) you want to print, then you choose from the paper types, from 4x6 to 8-1/2x11 and then how you want the photo(s) printed, ie with/without a border. Pretty much just a three step process.

The results? OY! The pictures are really fantastic. Now I must state that the quality of the print will be based more on the quality of the picture (jpeg/gif/bmp) you are printing. For example, I took a jpeg that I had from my website. In order to use it on my website, I needed to cut the resolution down. When I printed the that picture (4x6), there was a noticable grain to the photo quality. This is not in any way the fault of the printer. When I took a similar jpeg and printed it at its original resolution, the quality was as if I got the picture from a photo store. I decided to take a high resolution jped, about 12 MB, and print it 8-1/2x11. The quality was excellent. I won''t say it was perfect. Upon close inspection, ie staring right in front of it, you''ll notice slight indications that it was printed, however, I couldn''t guarantee that you could go to a photo store and get a better quality image reproduction. However, from just casually looking at the picture, the quality is excellent.

The speed is pretty nice, about 1 4x6 in 40 seconds. Normal print outs are obviously faster, though I haven''t done much with that. One other thing to bring, the paper feeder seems very reliable. My Lexmark needed to be manually feed, one sheet at a time, to print and that was such a hassle. However, this printer has a great feeder.

Overall, this product is excellent. Remember to get a USB cable to go along with it.

Good price. Cheapest overall cost of ownership because inkjets are cheaper than any HP or Epson and last a very long time (don''t worry about it having 1 color cartridge vs. 3 or more separate color cartridges, it''s still very cheap). Photo quality comparable to lab. Very good text on plain paper, even in draft mode, and better than Canon i850. Graphics (webpages and photoshop images) are better than i850. Get this over the Canon i850 UNless you''re going to print more photos than text (the i850 is slightly better but only under intense scrutiny). Also, this printer can take different kinds of camera media (cf, sm) while the i850 can''t. Had it for a month, no problems whatsoever. For the cost of photo quality paper & ink get this printer, otherwise go to a photolab to get your digital pictures printed.

I bought this printer b/c I needed to do color prints and my HP wasn''t doing justice.

I LOVE this printer. I got it with a rebate, but it is worth the $99.99 retail 100%.

My pictures are AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I show them to others and no one could tell I printed them myself. I am in awe of the printer. My sister and brother saw my picture quality and now they are BOTH buying one of these.

It was easy putting it together, and came with some good software too.

Very easy to use. You think it might be hard b/c of all the features, but it''s very user-friendly.

The only thing that might annoy you is it does make a bit of noise while it''s loading to print and when it''s done. Because the outcome is fabulous, this doesn''t bother me at all.

Note also, that I used the Canon glossy paper, then also with the HP photo glossy paper, the Canon paper had better results. Much cleaner than the HP.

I highly recommend this.

The Canon i470D was impulse purchase and it has turned out to exceed my expecations. The images are excellent and the control over color levels "to the edge" prining makes this peripheral an exceptional buy!

Pros:

1. print quality;

2. built-in card reader

3. incredible software package;

4. print to the edge option

5. print saturation options (per color including black)

6. art-work backgrounds with frames for multiple images

7. image browser with slide-show

8. picture stitch program;

Cons:

1. should use Canon paper only; most reliable results

2. small ink cartridges means you replace more often

Inkpress Rag, Cool Tone Double Sided, Bright White Matte Inkjet Paper Save 5% off

Inkpress Rag, Cool Tone Double Sided, Bright White Matte Inkjet Paper, 16 mil., 200gsm, 13'' x 50'' RollI bought this paper to cut up to make 13 by 23 inch prints in my Canon Pro9000 MarkII, because I couldn''t find any cut paper of this size. It works, but in front loading the printer first insert a flat paper, then slide in on top of this the cut roll paper which will be curled from the roll and pull out the flat paper.

My complaints are two: first there was a lot of dirt inside the plastic wrapping the roll and the paper itself has some marks and abrasions. second, the results tend to be on the dull side, without any real blacks and I had to work a lot in Photoshop and do lots of trial prints to get anything approaching the richness and vibrancy I get right off the bat with Canon''s own rag. It may be that there are some color profiles out there which would simplify this process but I didn''t come across them and there was no info in the box.

Next time I try this I will buy Canon''s 24" roll and cut off 13" pieces.

I changed my 2 star rating to a 3 star in recognition of the fact that I am not using this on a roll printer. The apparent carelessness in handling is inexcusable.

HP DeskJet 6127 Color Printer

HP DeskJet 6127 Color Printer
  • 4,800 x 1,200 optimized dpi color on premium photo papers
  • Built-in automatic duplexing
  • 20 pages per minute print speed, 13 ppm color
  • USB and Ethernet 802.3 interfaces
  • PC and Mac compatible

I thought long and hard about whether to give 4 stars or 5. I decided on 4 only because I''m not thrilled with the print area of this machine; always a half inch at the bottom no matter what. All other aspects are terrific. It is fast, quiet, and the duplexer is so very neat that you find yourself looking for things to print. And when I say fast, I do mean fast; in draft mode, the 6127 prints good quality at a remarkable rate. At "fast normal", the speed and quality are better than my old Epson Stylus 740. "Normal and Best" modes are slower, but still impressive. The addition of the 250 sheet paper tray would allow loading 2 different paper types, but it is quite expensive. Overall, I am very happy with this printer and would recommend it to anyone interested in a good buy.

If you have a home network, you NEED this printer! Images are fast and clean, and ink is widely available. Even photos look surprisingly good for this standard printer. (Only problem with photo printing is that it is not borderless). But where this printer really shines is that it connects directly to your Ethernet network. Any computer on your network can print to it. No extra hardware to buy, no flaky print-servers, no printer sharing headaches, and no special cables -just plug the Cat-5 wire directly into the printer and GO! (The confusing information about an "optional print server" is for a wireless network, which is totally unnecessary).

I have two computers and wanted to a network one printer for both. This proved to be the best solution! My only problem was that I run XP and forgot to shut off the firewall that blocks network activity. Once I got that sqaured away it worked like a charm! The print qulaity is excellent! Since each compuuter has a firewall product installed with the virus program there was no problem in turning off the built in XP one found in My Computer Properties.

Well thank you very much for taking my money. I am deployed and needed a printer to print pictures of my family. When I ordered your printer. I could not read all parts of the product comments that said use for parts only in the print out that came with my worthless printer. Thanks

I''ve had this printer for almost 2 years with absolutely no problems. The duplexer is great and the speed is excellent for an ink jet. I found that when used with the HP photo premium paper the 4 X 6 photos are quite good. In an age when printers come and go so quickly, HP is smart to continue to offer this model!

We have our own BUSY medical practice, and own 5 of these. Didn''t know for the price how these would work initially--but what a steal! Our main printer/ fax is CONTINUALLY printing/ receiving/ sending faxes, and just keeps going! For what we need, and the volume to which we put these machines through, even if they died w/i a year, it would be very worth it. We''ve had these all working since June 2009. Looked at VERY expensive all-in-1 machines initially, but VERY glad I did not waste my money, and went with this. All of these work hard every day, doing all functions, and just keep going!! Minor issues are easily resolved by someone like myself who is not an expert! Very easy to program. What makes a great product, is what you get for the price...and this was VERY worth it!

Bought this All-in-one printer to replace an older HP in our office; paid $500 new plus toner. Printer is noisy with every print, but print quality is fair. After less than 1000 prints the 2727 will no longer work. Spoke with HP and they gave option of 1)pay to ship it to/from a shop an hour away 2)pay to ship it to HP for a turnaround of 4-5 weeks 3)pay $70 for another printer to be mailed to me. After expressing frustration with such poor quality and even poorer options for support, they agreed to ship a refurbished model to me @ no cost. If I had the option, I would return it (or throw it in the trash.) As it is, they are holding my credit card hostage until I return the defective machine. Would not buy again. For that matter, I will be much more hesitant to buy HP in the future.

After wasting nearly 3 months with 5 off-brand recycled toner cartridges, I''ve decided to come back to original Brother cartridges. From a price standpoint, Amazon pretty much has the best price for these (at least this model, which is just slightly more expensive than off-brand recycled models).

Back in the days of inkjet printers, I always used cheap refillable cartridges, but with toner, at least for my printer (HL4040CDN), off-brand toners have just been headaches (2 brands the cartridges were already leaking as I took them out of their bag, 1 brand left a mess of black powder everywhere in my printer and had to have it repaired, and 2 other brands the colors were just faded).

This cartridge is supposed to last for very long at low usages. I print color pages very rarely (less than 100 pages per year). However, the printer (Brother 4070-CDW) signals that all three color cartridges need to be replaced in about a year also after being installed. I really doubt the quality or design of the products.

Save 31% off

We purchase toner for our Brother All-in-one about once every year. Obviously, some of the colors we go through faster than others, but overall, it averages to once a year. We tried the refilled cartridges and were not happy with them at all. They tended to leak and streak and cause us more down time than the savings was worth. No, we are happy with these and we aren''t going back.

Xerox WorkCentre 6505DN Laser Multifunction Printer

Xerox WorkCentre 6505DN Laser Multifunction Printer - Color - Plain Paper Print - Desktop -
  • WORKCENTRE 6505DN CLR LASER MFP P/S/C/F ADF USB/ENET 600X600 24PPM

The Good:

* Modern fast processor and fast spool times.

* Rich feature set

* Excellent print quality

* Good speed both scanning and printing.

* Excellent OSX support

The Bad:

* Fax-to-Email is only partially functional; not enough for my organization to use it.

Overall, I was very pleased with this printier except for a very large missing piece of functionality I would have expected given the litany of other security features supported by this printer. -2 stars for lack of outbound mail encryption support as it was one of the primary requirements of my business and a surprise to find out was unsupported. My business uses GoogleApps, outbound SMTP requires encryption. This printer does not support SSL/TLS for outbound SMTP. Therefore, if your organization uses any sort of secure email or GoogleApps, you will not be able to use the Scan-to-Email feature. If Xerox were to release a firmware update that enabled SSL/TLS on outbound SMTP, I would give this printer 5-stars. As-is, I can only give it three.

Hp - COL LJ CP3505N LASERPR 22/22PPM 256MB USB US EN

Hp - COL LJ CP3505N LASERPR 22/22PPM 256MB USB US ENThis is an excellent printer. I just got it about 2 days ago and have printed out several 8" x 11" digital photographs. Honestly, I can not tell the difference between a regular photograph and the print out when I use laser photo paper. Even with regular paper, the printouts are good, but you lose a lot of contrast. The software lets you bump the print quality up to 600 x 1200 dpi. The printer also prints extremely fast.

There are 2 negatives that I can tell at the moment...

1. The printer is somewhat noisy and seems to clean between each print job (I think).

2. The printer is pretty big so you need space.

I have seen photo print outs from this printer and the HP Color Laserjet 3600n (Which both use the same cartridges) and think both printers have excellent image quality. If you are looking for a printer that will print out excellent quality images, this probably is the printer you want. Go to a store that carries this printer and print out a demo print to see the image quality. (Click on the ''menu'' button, scroll down to ''information'' and hit the green ''check mark'' button then scroll down to ''print demo'' and hit the green ''check mark'' button again).

I paint and draw portraits and take digital photographs of the paintings to use in my portfolio. I have to say that this printer should work great for that. If I did professional photography or wedding photos, it may not be high enough quality for that, I do not know.

Finally, the color is a bit off straight out of the box. I haven''t taken the time to adjust it, but I assume that this really wouldn''t be a big deal since I noticed some color adjustment software with the windows XP driver, which is the OS I use.

I like Brother printer and did not want to get any problem because of 3rd party toner. The price is ways better than buying it in local store that they have only regular toner, not high capacity one.

Want Brother TN315Y Toner Cartridge for Brother Laser Printer Toner Discount?

Can''t believe I''m writing this -the whole idea of using official toner cartridges from the printer manufacturer makes me gag -it just seems like a giant scam. ("Be sure to use only Honda-brand windshield washer fluid in your new Honda.")

But the fact is that I''ve tried lots of 3rd-party toner cartridges from well-recommended companies, and now I use only official Brother brand cartridges. The 3rd party cartridges seem to inevitably leak toner and make a mess. When I''m on deadline I just don''t have the time for that sort of nonsense. Worth it to pay more for the official Brother cartridge, and Amazon usually has a good price.

I have bought this printer on jan.2005, and it has always served me very well. Almost never a jam, good quality outputs. I ONLY use it in Postscript, BTW.

But when I transitioned to Windows 7, I started having nightmares: the Samsung Postscript driver does not see the duplex option for printing on both sides. Now there is instead a UNIVERSAL driver that works correctly but is a real pain in the #### because it is extremely slow in responding. Bad work, Samsung, you spoilt an excellent printer!!

We have had this new printer for about a month now. Have read many reviews about how much ink it uses. This is true. But .... there is a way to work around this. Click on the icon on your computer (we have Windows 7), there you can go to the "settings" and change them. Unless we are planning on printing photos ( I have another high end Epson printer that I usually use for my photography), we set the preferences for plain paper, and click on "advance" settings and then select "grayscale", "black only". The printer will then print only using black ink, and at the draft setting. With the draft setting, one goes through very little ink, when used for just printing text, or something that you don''t plan on needing high quality. I did this with our old printer, and a XL (extra capacity) cartridge lasted us a year when used to print a few pages a day. If you need high quality, this printer puts out some nice results, just make sure you have it set for the correct paper you are using (VERY IMPORTANT for picture quality), and either "medium" print quality, or "best". If you plan on using "aftermarket" or refurbished cartridges, you MUST make sure they are not only the correct # (564 standard, or XL), but that they say "NEW GENERATION" also. If not, they will not work in this printer (haven''t found an answer for that one yet). So far, everything is working as designed, and hopefully, this new HP will work at well as my old one that I bought almost 14 years ago (photosmart 1100). It''s nice to be able to fax, scan, and copy, all from 1 unit. Hope this helps those who were concerned about the high ink usage reviews, which as I stated, is true if you plan on using it mainly for quality photos, but will be an "ink miser", if you use the draft setting for text or low quality B&W photo prints (like when I do a brake job on one of our vehicles. and want a pic of each side so that I can put them back together properly, and then no longer need the pic).

My last 2 printers were HP.

The one I am replacing had a print head go bad (After 3.5 years) after I put brand new full ink into my HP C6380. Ink is expensive for these HP printers. So I bought the newest model 7520 HP printer with the exact same ink that I had already opened. Figured, at least I would not waste $89 in ink.

Why did I put new ink into a bad printer you may ask? Well I went to the HP web site and followed the trouble shooting for the error code I was getting. You have to love the HP trouble shooting, they say open new ink and put it in the printer as part of the efforts when the real issue was that the "print head" is broken. The good news is you can order a print head for about $26 on Amazon, of course school papers can''t wait for it to be shipped so I got this unit at staples.

Just went for the only model available with the exact same ink since I had $89+ in ink ready to go. Plus this printer has the exact same print head as my old C6380. The first thing I did was put the new print head in my old printer and it solved the problem, this proves the print head was bad. So now I can order one and have a new back up printer as my old back up printer long ago ran out of ink and I don''t think that type of ink is available any more.

Anyway, here is why I took one star. This new printer forces me to use the starter print cartridges that came with it. You ask me this is major fail. I mean this is the sole reason I got this printer so I can use the $89 in ink I already had open, before it dries up. If I wanted to waste $89 in ink I would have choosen another product. Ink used to be ink, I never heard of starter cartridges required to even use a new printer. This is fine if you are going to a new ink, but as a replacement forget it. Anyway, I am just trying to store the ink so it will not dry up before I need it.

Ok, so what is new from my old HP C6380. Well this unit has FAX which I have not set up and used. it has a new sheet feeder. Good for large documents. It prints just as well as the old unit, using same ink and print head so quality is about equal.

As for networking, I always had tons of problems with my old HP C6380. First they did not have any drives available with Windows 7 was in Beta, and so I was without a printer on my primary PC for months. And when the drivers came out the old HP C6380 always had one network issue after another. This product continues a few of them for example starting you out with a dynamic IP address instead of static one. At least this product had a utility to update the IP address, so that is an improvement. Knowing the past issues however, I went straight to a static IP. Other advantages in this area is print by email, so if the printer has networking issues family can still print till I get home to solve network issues. It also has a new feature called Wireless Connect. So I have set up a back up for when the network is not playing nice.

So far I have printed from every PC as well as from my Samsung Galaxy S3 with positive results. The unit wakes up faster than my old unit, and prints faster too. I like how the paper is enclosed, might keep the keeps from grabbing so much scrap paper from the new paper.

The interface is not like a touch screen, gone is all the buttons. The controls are just as easy to control. But a new feature is all the applications. You can subscribe to get cartoon, recipes, coloring pages, kids activities etc... Have not tried them all, but the kids only button will print out a new activity each day allowing you to use up more ink then you ever did before. From their view it is a great idea, but if like me you watch the ink most apps will be useless. Personally I wish they did not waste so much screen space for these applications. The screen is larger than my iPod, and looks about the size of my S3. It is interesting, makes me wonder what can be done in the future. But for now this means ample space for controls etc...

On the side of the large screen are 3 permanent controls for home, back and help. Not all the controls in the sub menus (of the settings) look as nice as the top menu''s, just gray bars. But it is easy to use and do things like change the printers IP address. A lot of the most used menu stuff does look good with large icons for the devices, or places you want a file to go. Also, viewing and printing from the printer is better than ever with the large screen. Not only can you preview but it is easy to edit simple things like crop, contrast, etc..

As for the scanning, it was a web scan interface, it has a button to scan on the printer and an icon. I cannot get the desktop scan icon to work, says device not found. Will need to work on that. I found the scan feature of the printer is the best. Scan to file, scan to USB, scan to camera memory etc... But I liked the scan to email feature the best. As half the time, I am scanning to sent to someone anyway, so this way all I have to do if forward it. I found this to be my favorite improvement.

Anyway, this is a deep printer with more controls than ever, in time I may try some other. But for now I got the important stuff up and running. I do like how I now have multiple ways to do stuff. PC based, printer based, web based, or on my Android. I can pick and choose how I wish to work. After having 3 HP printers, things have come a long way since my old HP 930 that was nothing but a dedicated printer. The HP C6380 moved things forward by being my first all in one unit, a unit that almost never jammed paper unlike my old 930. Since the innards look very similar, I expect this to almost never jam as well, although it does add a new duplex feature that hangs off the back side of the 7520.

The 7520 brings a ton of new features forward, it will take weeks for me to test a lot of these features as I did limited testing to save ink, but this new 7520 makes it easier then ever to print and provides many, many more ways to print. But the all the new feature in this unit should meet my college student wife, and multiple children''s various printer needs well into the future.

I was very disappointed in my experience, because this printer seemed to have a nice combination of features and price. I really wish it had worked.

When I received this product, it was dead on arrival. The product continually displayed "Paper Jam" errors, during its setup. This, even when no paper or paper fragments were in the printer or duplexer.

I suspect the problem is caused by the cheap plastic duplexer that mates poorly with the rear of the printer. Technical support was also unable to resolve or diganose the problem.

Between trying to get this printer working, and then trying to return it, I wasted about 5 hours of my day. The customer service for HP direct (where I purchased it) is horrendous. If you buy this thing, buy from someone else.

If you do make the mistake of buying from them, use the live chat buried on their web site. After 3 hours, and multiple phone transfers, I hung up the phone without ever reaching someone who could help me return the defective printer.

At that point, I was prepared to eat the cost of the printer, rather than suffer further frustration. Instead, I made a last ditch effort with live chat, which took another 40 minutes, but was ultimately successful.

This is an update to my initial review, which IMO contained too many capital letters :)

After looking at quite a few printers that are Air Print compatible I settled on this model. I have not been disappointed, the print quality is excellent and it works with my PC''s Ipad and Iphone with easy setup and initialization program provided.

Only complaints are the small capacity cartridges mean you have to buy ink more often and it is a bit confusing to get it to print to full size paper sometimes because it thinks everything is a photo and it wants to print to photo paper. The fix is to put a few sheets of 5X7 photo paper in the upper tray that way you don''t get an out of paper error.

Other than those small blips this thing really works great. It prints fast and very high resolution so everything looks crisp and professional. A good product.

One last thing, the HP Store sells this same printer for $149.99 with free shipping, wish I had known that at the time.

About the HP Photosmart 7520 The black replacement cartridge I installed forced an error which required me to visit HP''s website on "cleaning the printhead" which was easy enough to find. Followed the directions, re-installed the cartridges and it printed exactly nine pages before the ink faded to nothing.

I switched to Canon printers about seven years ago, and decided to try HP again to see if their products had improved. Not only are they not improved, they appear to be setting the bar for "worst printer maker in the world". Sorry HP, this was your last shot at my business, and Canon will be getting it from now on.
