The set-up isn''t too difficult, but it did take more time than usual to set both our computers to be able to print wirelessly from the same printer. This shouldn''t be an issue unless you are someone who is unfamiliar with the basic set-ups of most software and devices. It that''s the case, you can also choose to use the printer with a wire. However, you can only do that with one computer (unless you purchase a separate adapter).
The images, both in black and white and in color, come out clear and crisp. If you wanted, you could easily use this printer to print photographs.
The printer comes equipped with a scanner that works wirelessly, too. It''s a nice feature, that though more prevalent, still isn''t standard. The scanner feature was one of the main selling points for us as there are documents that we need to scan from time to time and we needed a scanner that worked.
The price of the HP DESKJET 3052A is comparable to other printers of the same size and capabilities. Also, ink cartridges for HP printers are usually a little less expensive than those for other ink printers and you can usually get several hundred copies printed before having to replace a cartridge. This is about average and much better than some other printers on the market (Lexmark anyone?).
The only complaint I have with the HP DESKJET 3052A are the internal printer margins. The printer has a pre-determined margin set inside. This internal margin cannot be changed. Therefore, if you type below a one-inch margin or are printing a picture, be sure to look at the "print preview" to see if the printer will be printing your entire document or picture. From the research I''ve done (HP Customer Support has been silent on this matter) this is an internal error in the printer that could be fixed by having an update for the driver.
The HP DESKJET 3052A is a good little printer with the only major flaw being that it doesn''t print to the bottom of the margins. Beyond that, we''ve used the printer for about two months without any incidents.

When originally purchased as a package deal with my new MacBook Pro (OS X Lion), set up was easy and the printer worked well. For my first wireless printer, it seemed to be a good purchase.Soon, however, the wireless capability dropped off line.
No sweat, just reinstall the software... Nope. Install does set up the printer to connect with my router, I can print via email, I can plug the computer in and print. WiFi printing is a no go. Install says my computer doesn''t see the printer, make sure I''m connected to the same SSID, etc. (it is, all components talk to the router), but the computer doesn''t talk to the printer.
I followed many instructions from web pages, uninstalled and reinstalled, etc. all to my disappointment. I am not an IT specialist I need it to work.
If my time were not so valuable to me, I would figure this out and get it all to function. However, it is more economical to replace it than to mess with it anymore.
For a printer that Apple sells with its systems, I am not impressed.

I have had the printer less the two months and it is already broken. I have printed less than 50 pages and it no longer pulls the paper in straight. When I print from my scrapbooking program, it cuts off the last of the page. I even went to the HP website to see how to fix the problem; even after follow all the steps, it still wouldn''t print the full page. The print quality was horrible, the pictures came out streaked. I liked my last HP printer but, this one is a terrible. Don''t waste your money.Want Hewlett Packard Deskjet 3052A Wireless E-All-In-One Inkjet Printer Discount?
I can''t tell you how many times I''ve had to reinstall this printer on my computer because the computer stops recognizing it and vice versa. Also I thought the e-print was an awesome feature so I gave my printer email to a bunch of my friends and family members. Worked for a while, then I got calls from people asking me if I''d received their printer messages and I hadn''t received anything for a week. e-print online says my printers not connected, printer says it''s connected fine.
This thing is a piece of garbage. The LCD screen looks worse than a cell phone I had 9 years ago. Seriously, if a printer is available for sale at Walmart (as this one is) you should probably by a different printer.
POSThis printer is garbage. I have owned HP printers exclusively for about twelve years and this is the first one that is just worthless. The only thing I can count on it to do is jam. If I print two pages, at least one will jam. When I need to print something, I have to sit right by it and straighten every page or snatch it out because it''s jammed again. Don''t even think about sitting in another room using your laptop and trying to print something. When you go to get it out of the printer, you have nothing but a wadded up sheet of paper. I guess since printers are so much cheaper than they used to be, we really do get what we pay for.
